Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Steve Harvey & More Get STARS On Hollywood Walk Of Fame + Jenny's "Winnie" Trailer RELEASED

Jennifer Hudson's trailer for the controversial biopic Winnie has been released. Watch it inside and find out what celebs will be joining Jen on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.

We told you earlier about Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson starring in Winnie, a biopic that chronicles the life of Winnie Mandela, and now the theatrical trailer has been released. Directed by Darrell Roodt, the film, shown at several movie festivals around the world, charts Winne's life from her childhood through her husband Nelson Mandela's incarceration and her own year in solitary confinement. Terrence Howard will be starring opposite Jen as Nelson Mandela, and I'm sure there will be Oscar-buzz once again for both of them next year.

In other J-Hud news, the actress joins a long list of fabulous entertainers who will all be honored with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year. Other YBF folks who'll be honored at Viola Davis, Usher, Luther Vandross and Steve Harvey. Much deserved.

Sigh I don't like

*Sigh* I don't like theglamorized/commercialized feel and honestly, I would have preferred an actress/actor of South African descent playing the lead roles. Jhud and Terrance Howards are great in their field, don't get me wrong, but I would love to see hollywood taking a few chances with native Africans. By way of experience, they bring to the screen a fealing of "reality" and a spiritual weight/history that stories like this deserve. Im sure it will be a commercial success, but I hope we can go beyond what appeals to what's true.

Loved your comment, its exactly how felt watching the entire trailer. Using Jhud, and Terrance makes it look to Hollywood. Like something someone wrote up. The story of Winnie and Nelson is as raw and real life as you can get, they should have gone to South Africa for principal roles. Jhud looks like she will do an amazing job, but watching Terrance, and that accent smh it hurts.

God has given her great

God has given her great talent which she is the process of honing. But she is about as far away from a Hollywood Walk of Fame place as I am. How does her music career even remotely compare to that of Usher or Luther? Has her album ever sold 1.3 million in one week like the Backstreet Boys? She was in a few "ok" movies, but has she ever directed block busters like Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind and How The Grinch Stole Christmas like Ron Howard? And if she can get a star I think Beyonce has proved that as a solo artist she deserves her own star the way MJ received one separate from The J5. I'm sorry but this star just faded with the inclusion of Jennifer Hudson. I am not saying it won't come in time, but TIME is the operative word. She needs to put some in already.

I cant say i'm looking forward to seeing this movie because there was a very very dark side to Winnie Mandela hense the controversy about this picture and hense why nelson mandela divorced her shortly after he was released from prison. From the trailer, this seems to have been removed completely. When we retell history, lets stick to the facts and not choose what we think is significant. But ofcourse, this is a TD Jakes project.....can we expect the to see the anything but a story with a happy ending?
