BET RELEASES Statement On Rick Ross/Young Jeezy SCUFFLE Saying VIOLENCE Is Not CONDONED, 50 Cent Stays MUM On Brawl Deets

BET released a statement earlier today about last night's brawl at the 2012 BET HIP HOP Awards. Find out where the network stands on the incident inside and see what 50 Cent said when asked about the fight at the show......

We told you earlier about the brawl that broke out between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy at the 2012 BET HIP HOP Awards and now BET has released a statement about the incident.  Earlier today, the network said,

"BET Networks works very hard to bring the best in entertainment to the city of Atlanta. For the past 7 years BET has celebrated the true art form of Hip Hop. Due to some misjudgment of select attendees, it is unfortunate that certain incidents took place. BET Networks does not condone any type of violence. Local authorities are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible."

Although conflicting reports have emerged about just what happened backstage and in the parking lot, according to an ATL police spokeman,

"Shortly after 7:15 pm Saturday, a fight broke out in the parking lot at the Atlanta Civic Center (where the BET Awards were being taped) between two groups. Atlanta Police Department officers on scene responded to break up the fight and used OC spray in the process. Individuals fled the scene. There were no arrests or reports of serious injuries. Reports of shots fired appear to be untrue."

There were also conflicting reports about 50 cent being involved in some type of altercation with a rapper named Gunplay but 50 was seemed to downplay the incidents from the show.

When asked what happened at the show, he simply replied, "They gave out awards."  It seems like the rapper is moving in a more positive and peaceful direction and trying to avoid the drama or just not answer questions about it.

BET needs to bring back

BET needs to bring back Midnight Love. I don't watch 106 & Park. 95% of the music today, is complete garbage. BET is owned by Viacom and Viacom's owner is, Caucasian. They need a new owner. Someone needs to buy it from Viacom.

50 Cent, maturing? Imagine

50 Cent, maturing? Imagine that...NICE! BET is definitely part of the problem, in addition to the artists themselves. 99% of them value the almighty dollar over putting positive, *thoughtful*, decent music in the atmosphere. No respect for themselves, their community, their ancestors or the future. I'm so sick of these corny a$$, closet-racist-white boys in my neighborhood blasting Rick Ross and his love of the n-word in their cars I don't know what to do. SMH...but they couldn't blast it if these ignorant fools didn't record it--and if BET didn't glamorize it. Hot mess.

BET swear up and down that

BET swear up and down that they're all about black power and unity but are the sole contributors to the negative stereotypes of black people. If other races want to know how black people act they think to watch BET. BET will be the end of the black race.

So True, hence why I tuned

So True, hence why I tuned out from BET since Tavis Smiley left. I returned for a short while when they picked up The Game, but we all saw how that turned out.

Maybe NEXT YEAR BET WON'T

Maybe NEXT YEAR BET WON'T have the Hip Hop Awards in a city filled of HATERS, WANABES, & NOBODIES! What did they think would happen when a bunch of IGNORANT folks got together mixed with BROWN liquor and AFRICAN HEAT?? They would have been BETTER OFF hosting the show in COMPTON, CA! Just another "Source Awards" smh!

Yeah, BET does condone it.

Yeah, BET does condone it. They glorify violence, misogyny, and the thug/gangster lifestyle on their network, then glorify it more by assembling a group of pathetic hoodlums every year for their "awards". So nope, sorry, not buying it BET. You need more people.
