YOU'RE FIRED! Avery Johnson DISMISSED As Brooklyn Nets HEAD COACH!

The Brooklyn Nets announced earlier today that Avery Johnson has been relieved of his coaching duties with the team. More deets inside.....

On Thursday, the Brooklyn Nets (the NBA team part-owned by rapper Jay-Z) announced that Avery Johnson has been fired as head coach. General manger Billy King revealed that in the interim, P.J. Carlesimo will serve at the team's coach.

As Jay-Z kicked off the opening of the Barclays Center with a series of high-profile concerts, the Brooklyn Nets got off to a fantastic start before slowly fading. According to ESPN, Avery began the year with an 11-4 start and was named Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for October and November, but the Nets have only won three of their last 13 games and currently hold the eighth and final playoff spot in the East.

Mikhail Prokhorov, the Nets principal owner, said "The Nets ownership would like to express thanks to Avery for his efforts and to wish him every success in the future."

Poor Avery, his voice was

Poor Avery, his voice was annoying but it ain't his FAULT THIS TEAM SUCKS! Even w/ a new coach this team will still LOSE because they don't have any STAR players on this team. This team BORES ME TO DEATH when they are playing I have to turn! I guess someone has to take the blame. With Jay owning only A TEASPOON worth of this team, I'd say the decision to fire AVERY came from someone higher like the Russian guy. New coach but same LOOSING team!

Avery is far from my favorite

Avery is far from my favorite NBA coach, but it would be nice if players sometimes took responsibility for their part in losing games. Avery was named Coach of the month in November, now this. SMH

Hell yeah it's correct to say

Hell yeah it's correct to say Jay-Z fired Avery! When they needed a Black face to justify all the construction he was good enough to be the owner. When they needed a Black face to try to win Brooklyn fans over from the Knicks, Jay's percentage was enough to be the owner. So to me, Jay fired Avery too.
