Comedian Dave Chappelle decided to dig deep in his pockets to help the people of Flint, Michigan.  The residents are still dealing with the water crisis.

After a comedy performance at The Whiting Auditorium on Wednesday, the comedian announced that he would be donating all of the proceeds from the show to the city of Flint. That resulted in a $50,000 donation!

“I’m honored that you guys came here tonight,” Dave told the audience. “I want you to know that just by coming to see me you supported this city. I’m not taking a dime.”

Isaiah Olivier, CEO of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, told TMZ the money will be used to help the children who were exposed to lead in Flint’s water.

Dave was supposed to perform last year at The Whiting during the “Justice For Flint” event, but ended up backing out after Chris Rock offered him tickets to the Academy Awards.

Looks like all is well now.

Speaking of Flint…

Rapper Eminem is also in the do-gooder spirit for Flint.

The rapper, who calls Michigan home, gave every graduating senior from Flint Northwestern, Flint Southwestern and Flint Accelerated Learning Academy a new set of Beats By Dre headphones. In a pre-recorded clip, he shared the news with the graduating seniors before they received their diplomas.

No wonder they gave him the key to the city and his own day!

Singer Bryson Tiller partnered up with Nike to refurbish a basketball court in his hometown of Louisville at the Wyandotte Park.

Following the recent release of his sophomore album True To Self, the R&B rapper-singer christened the new playing court at its opening event and celebration this week, which included three hours of basketball skill clinics for children in the local community.

He did all this before hitting the stage at Louisville’s Mercury Ballroom to serenade the audience with tracks from his new No. 1 album.

Bryson’s favorite message of encouragement – “It’s Possible Here” is written on the court sidelines.

The saying has special meaning for the singer, who recalls, “Whenever you fly into Louisville, you see a sign that says, ‘It’s Possible Here.’ I remember my first time seeing it...I was working on my debut album, and I just thought, ‘Wow, it is possible here.’ Everybody always thinks you have to move out of the city and go where the music industry is, but it’s possible in Louisville, and it’s possible anywhere. You just have to believe.”
