The 2007 American Music Awards went down last night in L.A. And we all know the highlight of any award show...and the only reason I watch them...is to find out who held it down fabulously on the red carpet. And to kick things off right:  Beyonce and Ashanti are YBF's Best Dressed picks of the night. The dresses weren't anything atypical of these two, but the hair, makeup, skin, and accessories were flawless. The cuts of the dresses were hot (I typically hate mermaid style dresses but B pulled it off per usual) and the colors were hotter. 

Kanye made his first stage appearance this weekend in Paris since his mother's death .  He was kicking off his European tour but had difficulty getting through the whole set. According to MTV news: 

"He said the word, 'Mother,' and just couldn't go any further," Le Parisien journalist Meddy Magloire told the magazine. "A back-up singer, the DJ and a guitar player came over to console him. It looked like he might collapse. He just couldn't continue. He just stood there in a spotlight, crying, while the band continued playing."

He reportedly left the stage for about 15 minutes after not being able to finish "Hey Mama", and came back out to finish with "Stronger".  Still such a sad situation. 

So Jamie Foxx has some new tv deals in the works:

Jamie Foxx signs a two-year deal to produce unscripted shows for MTV and VH1, with the first product of their new union being From Gs to Gents, a series "in which a group of men are given social makeovers in a bid to turn them into gentlemen," efforts that a guest-starring Foxx will entertainingly attempt to thwart by dragging them to nightclubs, pouring alcohol down their throats, and urging them to "make it rain" upon nearby members of the opposite sex.

Oh hells no. This sounds like nothing but the male version of Charm School gone extra wrong and we definitely don't need that. Can we PLEASE stop anymore foolishness showing black folks (y'all already know the damn deal so don't even trip) acting like foolywang material for 15 minutes of fame? I mean...are we really still "making it rain" in the clubs? Seriously? I can't take it.
