In other news, D.L. Hughley's CNN show "D.L. Hughley Breaks The News" has been canceled. A lot of folks ripped on it about how horrible it was, but it was actually one of the network's highest rated shows. But it looks like the cancellation was mainly because it's what D.L. wanted. Here's CNN's statement:

"D.L. approached CNN about being permanently based in Los Angeles, where his family lives.

Oh Ne-Yo. Just when we thought you were co-captain of Team Tang, you go and school the fellas on info about how to treat a lady: Listen — when she says keep it right there, keep it right there. Appreciate if she’s doing you a favorite (you know what I mean, but let’s keep it PG-13), let her know that you’re enjoying it. Don’t be lazy — try a position that ain’t exactly your favorite, but you know she loves. And when you’re giving a massage, put the bone on break. A woman wants to know she is appreciated, that what she does for you is appreciated. I don’t mean washing your clothes or cooking your meals. I mean the fact that she went and got her hair done, so you can look at her and say, “Ooh, damn!” The fact that she squeezed herself into that outfit that is probably very uncomfortable so you can say, “Damn, she looks good in that!” He posted more here. And just when we thought Tiny was Queen of the H.A.M. Baby Mama Federation, Nivea went and opened her mouth. She was cuttin' up on a recent video interview talking about she's been "poppin' out them babies" (when asked what she's been up to) and says The Dream wanted the divorce, not her. Then she started going off on Lil Wayne. It was difficult for me to get past her multi-colored sorbet weave long enough for me to focus on everything going on. But whatevs. Check it.

So Deshawn didn't know she was getting the axe from Bravo and won't be appearing on Season 2 of "Real Housewives of Atlanta".  She gave Essence an interview saying she she wasn't asked back because she "was too human for the circus show". In other words, she didn't fit the crazy gold digger loud mouth black woman stereotype Bravo wants to pump up even more for next season.  SMDH.  Here's a snippet of the interview:

ESSENCE.COM: We hear that you are no longer returning to "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." Is that true? DESHAWN SHOW: Yes, one of the producers called me yesterday and said that they wouldn't take my option. ESSENCE.COM: What reason did they give for not inviting you back for the second season? SNOW: [One of the producers] called and said that I was "too human for a circus show" and that because the show did so well, they are about to pump up the drama and they didn't think that I would fit in. He gave me an example, saying that during the reunion when I found out what a few of the other ladies said about me, they were expecting me to say more, but I'm not the type to go "television" and start acting crazy because somebody's talking about me. I'm fine with the decision. It wasn't my decision. They let me go and there are no hard feelings. I am thankful for the opportunity. ESSENCE.COM: So were you at all shocked by the decision? SNOW: I didn't see it coming. I was shocked because I just talked to them in December about the new season. It's not like they came to me and gave me an option by saying, "We're going to take a new direction and we want to know if you could be more like this." I was a little hurt, but I just look at it like I am what I am. [My personality] didn't seem to be a problem before, but I suppose the show took a different direction and they no longer see me as the right fit. If you look at all the other housewives, they are all different. I believe God moves people out of your way. It's about God having his hand upon you and doing things for you. I'm not judging my situation. I look at the show as just a shutter-glimpse of what God has in store for me. I enjoyed being on the show and hanging with the girls. At the end of the day, I was the same person throughout the show. I never changed. I was authentic and true to myself and I can't control what other people do.

She says she's still in school and writing teen/children's books.  Tameka Foster has also spoken to Essence about the rumor that she'll be on Season 2.  She says it's definitely not true.  I'm not sure if I'm happy or mad about that. More ish when you read the rest...

That's a wrap for Jermaine Dupri. He's been terminated as Head of Island Def Jam. No word on why but his termination takes place immediately. Damn. First Jay-Z leaves as head of Def Jam, now J.D. is kicked out as a sub-head. Rough times all around. So after Lil Kim popped off about being pissy with Voletta Wallace and Diddy for misportraying her as a simple groupie jumpoff in Notorious, Voletta said her own piece. And now she wants to talk to Kim to clear things up:

ESSENCE.COM: (Laughs.) Definitely. Is there something you discovered about your son and his legacy while watching the film? WALLACE: (Laughs.) I gained strength from it. There were things about him that I never knew that I wanted to see for myself on film. I saw a side of my son that I heard of but I haven’t accepted. I’m angered by certain things, disappointed and shocked. So this film taught me tolerance and to be less critical. I would love to speak to Lil’ Kim, because I need to ask more about this love relationship because I really didn’t like the way he treated her and I’m praying that that’s not it. Only she can answer those questions. She’s a sweet girl and I didn’t think she deserved to be treated the way he treated her, if that’s the case.

I'm sure Kim's thinking too little too late. But I'm sure she was well aware of the "situation" b/w her and BIG and Voletta at the time--so this whole movie shouldn't even be a surprise.

The folks at Viacom are cutting their expenses and staffers by 7% to prepare for economic changes. We received the official press release from MTV giving the details--850 people will be laid off in the company--which consists of the BET network, MTV network, VH1 network, etc. And they started this week--we hear some staple hosts have been laid off already and entire departments have been laid off. On the flip side--maybe we'll start seeing more music videos on the music video channels.

A source who works very closely with SONY/BMG tells us that Destiny’s Step-Child singer Kelly Rowland is set to change lanes when it comes to her her manager and career. Yeah we've heard this rumor before, but this time it seems quite legit. She was recently spotted meeting with 19 Entertainment’s Simon Fuller, who she is expected to announce as her new manager at the top of the year. We predict her current manager Mathew Knowles ain't gonna like this. Simon is the current manager of international acts like The Spice Girls, Annie Lennox, Carrie Underwood and David and Victoria Beckham. And Kelly may not be the superstar that her group member Beyonce is in the United States, but the singer is a mega-star in Europe where she has been playing arena-size venues with the biggest international pop acts. Apparently 27-year-old Kelly is tired of playing the backseat to Beyonce who is also managed by Papa Knowles and intends to ax B's daddy in the coming weeks.
