Magic and his son

GQ has been raving about Lupe Fiasco. So of course he was there.
T.I. got his grown man on with his hot suit:
Of course the Jiggaman was there:

Having a bonding moment with the King I see.
Peter Hunsinger, VP and Publisher of GQ, made sure to be snapped with everybody:

I wasted an hour of my life that I will never get back watching ANTM last night. The final 4 girls are whack–yes, even Eugena–and I’m mad I was fooled into thinking they were actual model material. This week’s challenge they tested the girls to see who was gangsta enough to withstand hypothermia:
CariDee lost, but Amanda was kicked off. That was about the only good part of the show. And is it me or did the photos get worse as the season went along?
The Randomness:
MJB’s closet must look like 1 big gob of white leggings and fur. I still gots love for my girl though. Nice vid.
This is the first Fantasia song I have liked first go round of hearing it. Cute vid too. Work it Fanny….

What money and a good publicist can do for you is all a half step away from a miracle…Bump what you heard. This chick is about to blow up the Dreamgirls spot.
I was sent these exclusive pics of Luda’s and BET’s Rosci’s party last week. Childhood Chi-town buddies Ludacris and 106 & Park’s Rocsi hosted the bash at the Bombay Sapphire Lounge in Chromium in Chicago last Friday. A joint celebration was both for Ludacris new album
The vid just premiered on MTV this afternoon and y’all know I got you covered. I’m not the biggest fan of this song…but maybe it’ll grow on me.

Ok. So Carmen Bryan (the chick who is trying her damndest to take the Superhead mini-me role) went on Wendy Williams yesterday. Her new book dropped yesterday so she had to make the rounds the old fashioned way–with her legs closed.
Check the interview in 3 parts: 1, 2, 3 {Thanks to SandraRose}
I usually have my issues with Wendy Williams–but this interview right here put Wendy on my “She is THAT chick” list. Now y’all know I never liked this Carmen chick from day 1, and this interview proves why. She tries to downplay her story about Nas whoopin’ her ass and y’all know Charlamagne and Wendy made her look like a donkey because of it.
And why does this chick still not know if she had either an abortion or a miscarriage for Jay-Z? WTF?? I definitely think this Carmen chick is lying about how much money she’s being broke off by Nas. And in honor of World Aids Day this Friday…was she serious about not having an AIDS test since 1999? Damn shame…
Wendy put Carmen on blast about how nasty–and not Helen of Troy material–her ass is even with Carmen trying her hardest to kiss Wendy’s ass. After listening to this whole interview–just like I thought–I’m not impressed by this Carmen chick. She is wiggity whack. And Nas and Jay-Z are just as nasty for knowingly bangin’ almost all the same chicks. I’m just sayin. I can’t wait for this segment to hit “The Wendy Williams Experience” on VH-1 Friday.
On the gossip tip: I hear Carmen has fired her male publicist (because she was too cheap to pay him) and has just hired a new female publicist out of NY.
I wasn’t even going to post this pic, but the more I look at it…the more I laugh:

I see it took 0.6 seconds for Kev to be creeping back to Shar. And if you think this was just for Thanksgiving….whatev.
India Arie was spotted at the Third Annual UNICEF Snowflake Ball at Cipriani’s in NY last night:

Nice dress.
Ludacris joined Aldo (one of my fave shoe stores) to help promote World AIDS Day yesterday at the Beverly Center:

Nice.
John Legend was in concert at Club Revolution in Fort Lauderdale yesterday:

There’s something different about Johnny Boy…….
BE Magazine’s cover celebration honoring Egypt at Guest House/Home went down in NY yesterday:

Swizz Beats came out to kick it.
Ashanti and Jibbs hit up MTV’s Sucker Free show yesterday:
That damn ponytail kills me every time.

Celebrity stylist June Ambrose (left) came by with Shanti too.
Jibbs kicked it:
I didn’t know he had a bit of a cute factor.

Fashion Fab:
Claire Sulmers, who hosts her own fashion blog that I love called The Fashion Bomb, is today’s guest contributer for more fall/winter fashion trends. She also writes for Essence and Upscale magazines. Check out her contribution for YBF:
School girl chic is the rule for Fall/Winter 2006, but leave your Mary Janes and knee highs at home! Bring it back the right way with plaid pieces, and show you’re grown by pairing it all with boots or pumps.
Eve knows wassup:

Her pretty plaid looks great with footless tights and peep toes.
Naomi Campbell also strutted her style on the runway:
And rocked her plaid jumper with a mocha brown silk shirt.
Another option: wear a fitted plaid jacket with a black top and dark wash jeans:
Fabulous.
While there are so many ways to wear plaid the right way, there are times when keeping it plaid goes wrong. Let me school you:
Lesson 1:
Don’t sport your classy plaid with a milk maiden shirt and 20 pounds of weave!
Foxy was kind enough to teach us Lesson 2:

Don’t wear your plaid from head to toe (and please chuck that bright ass Wet & Wild Lip Gloss)!!
Finally, Lesson 3: definitely don’t go the lumberjack route by pairing a bulky jacket with skinny jeans and bulky boots:

Just. A. Mess. Can someone please quarantine this woman’s stylist???
My plaid picks? Save on this affordable dress by Necessary Objects or splurge on this gorgeous jacket by Brindleburr.
Sultry sweater dresses are also a must have for the fall/winter transition.
Pair your cozy knit with a kimono belt and hot high boots like Monica:
Or rock your frock with great tights, mid-length boots, and stunner shades like Kimora:
Always fashionable Amerie had the right idea pairing her sweater dress with a braided belt, tights, and short boots:
But then forgot to leave her H.A.M friends at home:
She might’ve ruined her whole ‘fit with her crispy company.
Cute sweater dresses are available at any price point. Save on this dress by Frenchi or splurge with this hot pocketed sweater dress by Diane Von Furstenberg.
For my fellas:
Word on the street is that hoodies are a must.
Hoodies can be classy, like this tweed option on T.I.:
Or sporty like this snazzy design covered hoodie on Jay-Z:
If you wear a casual hoodie, keep it crunk in loud colors like Luda (note the matching sneaks):
Or dabble in both design and color like Young Jeezy:
Word of warning on the hood front: please leave your sweaty, washed out, gym hoodies where they belong: in the gym!
And DMX!
Neither cute nor fabulous.
Good hood picks? Try this hoodie by Ecko Unlimited or splurge on this hoodie by Swagger.
Stay tuned for future trend watches and advice on how (and how not to) rock ‘em.
Smootches!
Stay fab!
