MJB’s Listening Session+Scoop From T.O.’s Pre B-Day Celebration
MJB looked fab at her listening session last night in the NYC. And YBF NY correspondents Tichanda and Kisha hit it up:

T.O. and Felicia in a GQ spread
Terrell Owens had a pre brithday dinner last night at a resort in Dallas. YBF celebs like Jamie Foxx, Tasha Smith, Serena Williams, Michelle Williams, LaToya Luckett, Brandy, Kenya Moore, Elise Neil, Melanie Thornton, and Melyssa Ford hit up the party. And YBF sources tell me it was a surprisingly fabulous affair. Interestingly enough, while T.O. made a request for every “extra” chick at the party to be a gorgeous “model type” (supposedly to impress his boys), he showed up with his ex-girlfriend Felicia. Funny since Felicia and Henry Simmons are supposedly still an item. And even funnier since T.O. was chasing Kenya Moore’s skirt all night. Hmmm. Felicia and T.O. did remain extra close all evening since Felicia wan’t letting him out her sight. I guess if she can’t have him no one can.
Deelishis, New York, Saaphyri, and video chick Angel got cut at the last minute due to the hoochie factor. I hear they didn’t want such “caliber” at such a high-end event. And Elise Neil sang with her group and supposedly to a disinterested room. She did a lap dance a la “Cater To You” for T.O. and of course he was drooling. And according to my sources, Jamie Foxx was doing his usual thing chasing the “extras”. Brandy looked great but seemed real uncomfortable. Apparently she was extra chatty with a hot guy all night. But it wasn’t her ex Quentin Richardson that she still longs for…

Thirty years already???!!! I remember sitting in a theatre near the Astoria Kaufman studios (where they filmed most of the scenes) watching this movie. Time sure is flying!
And can I just say how much I hate that they’re releasinng a 30th anniversary edition? I already have the dang movie on DVD! But I’m gonna buy this edition away. I just love looking at old ass Diana Ross as Dorothy. She KNOW she was wrong for accepting that role. SHE KNOW!

I don’t blame Kanye for canceling. US folks would try to be all up in his business in a way that the European crowd was not. I think we have a different perceived relationship with celebrities in this country and a warped sense of entitlement to their personal lives - sometimes** (here’s my caveat though - **there is a responsibility in there for celebs too, because they (should) know the life they are choosing and often manipulate these dynamics to stay in the game).
However, back to Kanye’s case. There may be nothing more devastating and life altering than tragically losing your mother (add to that the fact that Dr. Donda clearly was/is an amazing one!), so as a once casual Kanye fan now turned lifetime supporter, I think we should give him a pass on any professional choice he makes for one full year (at least). THEN after that, support the hell out of whatever creative/expressive project comes out of the obvious range of emotions he must be experiencing.

I’ve had The Wiz on DVD for a while too. If they remade it tomorrow I could be a one woman show and to the whole thing myself! Seems as though K2007 has positivity issues and lacks the capacity to say anything that is remotely positive or even constructive and deserves no recognition from any of the decent folks who comment on here. As for the T.O party, it doesn’t surprise me a bit that the F.O.L chicks got rejected. Class is something they could all work on.And I didn’t know Elise Neal sang? When did that happen? I’m from Fort Worth, Texas and the T.O. bash took place earlier this week at the Gaylord Texan Resort. The media here were covering it like they were Entertainment Tonight or somethin!!! Everyone looked fab, including Michelle from DC who sang happy birthday to the birthday boy. All the guests brought teddy bears for underpriveledged kids. The bash was also a charity event for T.O.’s “To Catch A Dream” foundation which is going to help 81 needy North Texas families this Christmas.

I attended TO’s birthday party on Monday night and it was very nice. Of course Jamie was doing the fool in VIP pouring Patron down ladies throats all night! Somebody PLEASE give him a PATRON ENDORSEMENT. (Did I say PLEASE?)

THE WIZ was already released on DVD April 13, 1999 and can still be found at most Targets or Walmarts for around $5.99
This is ‘THE WIZ 30th Anniversary Edition DVD’ which will be available for purchase on Feb 5, 2008
Unfortunately ‘UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOME ENTERTAINMENT’ did not add anything new to this 30th Anniversary Edition of THE WIZ. I was hoping for a commentary, deleted scenes, never before seen footage, in depth behind the scenes of the making of THE WIZ, etc.
The only added bonus will be a music CD with 8 songs from the film. That is a rather pointless bonus feature since most people already own the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack audio CD which is still available at most music stores.
THE WIZ is a creative artistically spectacular classic film and Universal should have honored this Anniversary Edition with much better bonus features.
Unfortunately we are getting the same featurette from the older DVD ‘WIZ ON DOWN THE ROAD’, and the same movie trailer. Both of which can be found on the older DVD.
The only thing exciting about this Anniversary Edition DVD of THE WIZ is the NEW COVER ART.
SHAME on ‘Universal Home Entertainment’ for an Anniversary DVD of THE WIZ with NOTHING NEW to look forward to!!
