So not true. When my baby was born she was a light brown color and as she got older, she was fairer than my husband. So yes, they do get a little lighter. That is a beautiful baby and I am sure she insanely beautiful to her mom and dad.

She is only five months old…so it maybe be that she is still learning how to get her eye movement under control, and learning how to focus her eyes.

My mother always told me to never talk about anyones child! it’s beyond cruel! I have seen babies that I did not find cute, so I said something nice about their smile or told the mother how happy I was about the birth of the new child. With her first child they thought her daughter was so cute( by a black man) with her second child they couldn’t stop talking about her sons hair, eyes, skin, and his little pink toes( his father was latino) it was a hot mess! it’s sad how lighter is considered better!

And I don’t know about you but I come to this sight everyday and you don’t see to many post with babies in it to even compare how crazy people will go over a darker complected child. Maybe people are ogling over Nahla b/c Halle was so adamant about not wanting people to see her which makes seeing her something bigger, plus Halle is a bigger star than a lof of the celebs on this blog.
I’ve seen some dark babies that weren’t so cute, and I have seen some light ones that looked like little monkeys, what makes me mad is that people will deny a child a compliment just because she is light even though she could be gorgeous. She gets the luxury of working out all day and shopping, unlike the rest of us.

I think she is a very cute baby. At this point I will say she “favors” Gabriel, but babies change so much in the first year, I’m not going to hold myself to that assessment. I think Halle is pretty hot, not that my opinion matters much. LOL. Just my husband’s and millions of red-blooded males around the world. I don’t take one snap-shot of someone and make an assessment of someone’s personal life. Chris Martin and Gweynth Paltrow are rarely photographed together or attend events together and they are married to each other. Actually you rarely see Chris photgraphed with his children. Chris and Gwen don’t need to prove they are a couple by taking a bunch of phoney paparrazi pictures. That’s how I see Gabriel and Halle. They are together, just rarely out in public together. And, really can you blame them, for keeping their romance out of the press? I’d say Halle has learned a couple of lessons from her marriages to David and Eric. Keep your private life as private as possible. Until Halle says she and Gabriel are no longer together, I’m going to assume that they are and are have a glorious time.
From what I can gleen from this pictures, is that Halle has a certain calmness and confidence I hadn’t quite picked up on before.
To call a child names, to make fun of a child, to mockingly infer that a child may have a serious disability is unconscionable. I think it shows more of a lack of respect for self than it does for Halle.

I think before many of you continue to quip about blacks being brainwashed by “beauty” of “genetic mutations” - blue eyes, light skin, straight hair - the white man’s values, you should look in the mirror. While you speak-tongue-in-cheek about “selling out” take a good, hard look at yourself. I hear where you are comming from, but the truth is that all of the features come from africa, from the light colored eyes to the straight hair. And we don’t have to choose one as beautiful. That is a beautiful baby not b/c she’s light and has gray eyes but because she as fat cheeks and pretty lil mouth, in my opinion. But I also think that Zahara is a gorgeous child. We as black ppl have to stop with the narrow-minded views across the board. We know that ppl are colorstruck we were made to be that way, but in combatting it I don’t feel we should hold up the chocolate, nappy hair as the only beauty either we are beautiful because that’s what we are, no matter what complexion that baby is I can tell she is of african decent not because I know her mama is Halle, but b/c I can see it and that is what makes us all beautiful not our color but our essence.

Instead of throwing in the towel, why cant we address these issues without being so sensitive? Why do we have to dance around the limit and the issue..we can push the envelope to address these radical concerns that are changing out way of thinking. As a black people we are progressing, but small things like this make me think if we can easily fall of the wagon. Just a thought, people are too culturally senstive, just like the white men, we are better than this. We can get over this and see in a different light.
