*UPDATED* BREAKING NEWS: Jennifer Hudson’s Mother & Brother Found Dead In Home

UPDATE 7 (11:15p EST): Police sources have confirmed that the suspect William Balfour has been taken into police custody. However, Julian King, Hudson’s 7-year-old nephew who was taken from the murder scene, is still missing. William says he will NOT tell the police where Julian is. William lived in the family home where the murders occurred. After Jennifer’s sister Julia reported her car stolen last week and allegedly told people she wanted to leave William, William reportedly was heard saying he wanted to kill her and her family.
*Pics of the wanted suspect are below.* This is horrible news breaking right now. This afternoon, firemen were called to the scene of a Chicago residence. Two victims (one male, one female) were discovered on the scene, and it has been confirmed that the house belonged to Jennifer Hudson’s mother Darnell Hudson Donerson. Then just moments ago, it was confirmed that one of the victims was indeed Jennifer’s mother:
Fire officials said two bodies were discovered inside a home belonging to Hudson’s mother just before 3:00 this afternoon.
The home is located at 7019 South Yale in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood.
A representative of the family’s church, Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist, told reporters that 57-year-old Darnell Hudson was one of the victims.

This is incredibly sad and horrible news. Jennifer has learned of the tragedy and is currently on her way back to Chicago from Tampa, FL. Jennifer is also set to get married within the next year to her fiance David Otunga. Our condolences to Jennifer and her family. R.I.P.
UPDATE: News stations are now reporting that Jennifer’s mother Darnell Hudson and the other unidentified victim were killed by gunshot. It is also being reported that Jennifer’s nephew Julian, her sister Julia’s son, is now being held for ransom.
UPDATE 2: Neighbors of Jennifer’s mother are now reporting that the unidentified male victim is Jennifer’s brother Jason.
UPDATE 3: Early reports were incorrect concerning the fire. There was no fire but the fire department was called. We have also just learned that Jennifer’s sister’s car has been stolen and the thief has put out threats to the family. We’re also told police are leaning toward this being a domestic dispute.

UPDATE 4: A search is under way for a young boy who is missing from the home. A child, likely Jennifer’s 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, is missing. Police are searching for an SUV (we’re told it was Jason’s) that was seen in the area–a 1994 white Suburban, Illinois license plate number X584859. A source close to Jennifer’s sister tells TheYBF.com that her sister Julia, the mother of the missing child, reported her car stolen about a week ago and put out a restraining order on a particular person. We have also learned that Julia’s birthday was yesterday and there were “a lot of things going on”.
UPDATE 5: Here’s some images of William Balfour– the alleged kidnapper and suspect involved in tonight’s murders of Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother. William is Jennifer’s brother in law (married to sister Julia who is also pictured below).
William is Julian’s stepfather and is currently on parole for a previous attempted murder. This is horrific.

UPDATE 6: A friend of Jennifer’s sister Julia tells TheYBF.com that Julia was never at the scene of the crime today. She did go to work but no one has heard from her since she reported her son Julian missing several hours ago. Also, the shots fired at Jennifer’s mother’s house were reported around 9a this morning, but police did not answer to the scene until around 3p today. Police say many gun shots are fired in that neighborhood and they thought them to be just random shots.

The News said that gun shots fire in that area ALL THE TIME, so when they cops got the call this morning, they didn’t respond b/c they thought it was just random fire.
But is was the killings of two people. The bodies were left dead in the house for most of the day!

That’s the thing..someone needs to forgive. Anger only leads to revenge then you get an even bigger mess. Families were given to us and can be taken away any moment…not for us to question. Everyone entered this world on their own, and will leave alone in their own coffin. Holding onto criminals like this only gives them a place in your heart and they get the better of you. JHud shows alot faith in God and I hope she holds onto it because that’s the only thing I see getting her through this. Hopefully we don’t lose her into depression and other ish celebs tend to do.

I get where les is coming from and on the other hand I have a friend who is about to marry an ex-con. He has went to school, got an education, and is a successful business man. Hi everyone, I’m not usually/ever on here at night so I don’t know the night regs. I do however see my buddies, Les, SJ and Medic. I send prayers to Jhud & her Fam. She has very a long road ahead of her. Our encouragement in any positive form will help her along the way.
As for the negative comments I’m witnessing, Just know that you really have to be in need of some attention and really lacking in education and compassion to vent your personal problems and inadequacies in an effort to get some feedback. So I will ask the regular Ybf ladies and gents, to ignore the mold that has decided to grow this evening.

I have experienced loss in my personal life but no where close to this degree I am so sorry for her she must be beside herself right now. So-called “Missing White Woman Syndrome” plays such a part in the way the media treats us that its appalling. Remember when all of those white women went missing and it was on CNN daily but how many black women end up on CNN EVERY DAMN DAY if something like this happens. Honestly I don’t think this would be national news if it wasn’t Jennifer Hudson’s family.

However, black men are treated differently than people of other races by the legal system. That is why even though African Americans comprise only about 13% of this country’s population, we comprise a disproportionately large %age of the prison population.

I know from personal experience that multiple tragedies at one time can f*ck a person up, that’s one of the main reasons I decided to become a therapist. I just hope her family can cope in the aftermath of all of this.

Buzz up!Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother were found shot to death in her Chicago home Friday afternoon, according to reports.
A representative from Hudson family’s church, Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist, confirms to the Chicago Sun-Times that Hudson’s mother, Darnell Hudson, 57, was murdered. TMZ.com confirms Hudson’s brother, Jason, was also a victim.
“Officers responded to a call of two people found unresponsive,” Chicago Police Department spokesman John Mirabelli tells Usmagazine.com. “They discovered a male and a female that had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
“Right now, our investigation is a double homicide,” the spokesman tells Us. “We understand family members are on the scene.”
Officer Mirabelli would not confirm details of the shooting, but TMZ.com reports a cousin who lives nearby discovered the bodies.
Police spokeswoman Monique Bond said the deaths appeared to be the result of domestic abuse, the Associated Press reported.
The police said they issued an Amber Alert for 7-year-old Julian King who may have been abducted by William Balfour, a suspect who is considered armed and dangerous.
Balfour may be driving a white 1994 Chevrolet Suburban with Illinois license plate No. X584859 or a teal/green Chrysler Concord four-door with a left front headlight hanging out that is scratched all along its left side. The Chrysler is displaying temporary tags of 332K823, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Hudson has been outspoken about how close she is with her family.
Hudson praises her mother and brother in the liner notes of her self-titled debut album (released September 30).
After thanking God, Hudson writes: “Next, of course, is u my mommy DARNELL AKA DOLL…thank u for instilling in me that I could do anything I put my mind to and teaching me to always put God first. Thank you for loving me no matter what.”
Then, “To the original JHUD’s, my big bro and sis JASON and JULIA, I love you so much. Thank you both for rooting me on and supporting me like nobody else. Also for believing in me and never letting me settle for just ok but the best. Because of u, I don’t believe in limits. LIL’ JULIAN KING my lil’ nephew, I love u, baby.”
Neighbor Angela Russell describes Darnell as a woman who had barbecues at her home.
“She was very kind and very social,” Russell tells Usmagazine.com. “She was extremely proud of her daughter but she didn’t let it go to her head. She refused to move out of the neighborhood, she wanted to stay here, this was her home.”

I don’t think its really relevant to compare the black crime rate versus what white people are doing! It does not matter! We have to do better! We have an history and we should not be out there killing each other, jeopardizing our families and community, avoiding real issue just because white people do the same! They could be over there killing each other, thaT does not make it right! Yes, I will always go harder on my people because i want to see them happy, succesful, healthy and ALIVE!
