More Details About Suspect William Balfour & Jennifer Hudson’s Sister Julia
Julia and William Balfour
As reported last night, William Balfour is a suspect in custody for the Hudson family tragedy. He is Jennifer Hudson’s sister Julia’s husband. It has been confirmed this morning by neighbors of the Hudsons that William and Julia had been going through rocky times these last few weeks. William allegedly sold one of the family’s cars without permission and Julia was upset.
Jennifer, her mother, and her sister
William has still been living at the Hudson home. Julia and Jennifer’s mother Darnell Hudson ordered him to move out last year. Neighbors also confirm Julia has been talking about leaving William. Police are now pursuing the lead that the sold car and marital and domestic disputes are connected to the tragedy. William’s mother has spoken out saying that her son is innocent and she wants whoever has the boy (Jennifer’s nephew Julian) to return him ASAP:
“I didn’t raise no murderer,” Michele Balfour said. “He was not a child abductor. They have the wrong person.”

There is still no word on the whereabouts of Julia or her kidnapped son Julian. Julia’s Myspace page was logged into last night and this morning, with the “mood” changed to “numb”. William’s Myspace page talks about being very proud of Jennifer and loving his wife Julia, but it hasn’t been logged into since June.

I wonder what the twist in this trajedy will be.
His mother stating her son did not kill or abduct…is she in denial or does she know something more.
Maybe the twist is he owed $$ and those people are the ones that did the killing and holding the child for ransom.
Whateva it is …we need to keep praying and praying hard.

I’ve been praying for Jennifer. Her mother was shot in the head and her brother in the chest. And it makes me wonder why her sister is taking the time out to log onto her Myspace page when her son is missing. I would be all over Chicago looking for my son. I just pray that the little boy is found safe and unharmed.

it’s like someone said on the earlier post that if the cops had responded to the 911 call Julian wouldn’t be missing right now. I’m still trying to figure out why the sister is on myspace changing her status and why this killer’s mother is defending him.
sometimes you just need to look at the hard facts mom, he murdered those people, and unless your daughter “sensuous” can finagle some information out of him then let him stew or get his ass whopped in prison till he talks.
but it wouldn’t shock me if that fool called him momma and told her what was going on and she’s covering for him till things cool down. I hate to say it but there are those out there who will cover for a trifling ass man to the end, and it’s not until he does something to them or they see it first hand that they realize they defended a monster. and this “nigga” is one of them triflin ass men.

ohh on CNN now the cops are saying that he’s not in custody nor is anyone with that name is in there, but they have “a lot of people in custody they are interrogating in relation to the murders”. Hence why they aren’t letting his mom send his sister in there to talk to him.

Probably he got his boys to do it knowing his track record or that he was involved, but it was a few of them (and he wasn’t the one to pull the trigger). This man probably passed the child to someone, smh. Either way, she put a restraining order on him and has been having problems recently then all of a sudden this happens & he’s not cooperating?… HAS TO BE HIM! I wanna slap his mom. First of all, you don’t know that it’s really her sister logging in. Secondly, do you REALLY know what you would be doing if your mother and brother had just been taken from you suddenly, your son was missing, the person responsible was probably your trifling and psycho husband, and that mofo was NOT talking? Just reading her statement irked me no end, because I can’t begin to tell you of the innumerable times I’v had to deal wt really badly behaved pple (for instance, today in town, 3 white girls who just stepped in front of me in a line, cool as you please, w’out paying me any mind) and I always have the thing to say to them at all times - “I don’t blame you at all, I blame the parents who should have raised you right and left that task for the rest of us to cope with”. What a horrific tragedy. I agree that now is not the time to make public statements about your sons’ innocense. Too many times i see women excuse all kinds of deviant behavior from our sons, brothers, partners….
This always always ends badly.
Why let your adult, unemployed son still live at home? Why let these men around your children as role models? We just have got to do better.

Hello there!
This is just so very sad.
I hope that it is also a wake up call to black people to STOP coddling mentally ill relatives and shrugging off their behavior and threats with “he’s trippin” and “she’s trippin”.
How many black folks will NOT even use the word “mentally ill” to describe the dangerous persons in their own families.
Let this be a wake up call to stop mimimizing this pathology in our own families.

The mother, and brother of JHud was shot dead, nephew abducted, and the sister (who’s married to the killer) is somewhere..we don’t know. Could be missing or in police protection. They supposedly found the killer but no child with him and he’s refusing to offer info

that’s what i’m wondering. and I thought the sister was missing after she got off her job? why was she at work when this happened? no one called her?! because the time frame of her work suggests that she was at work when the shootings happened or went in right before it happened, btu she continued to work? But since the cops didn’t respond till hours later then I understand that she just didn’t know. then again maybe she is trying to lure the other person out by posting or she’s being held in Witness Protection till further notice.

This whole thing is a tragedy no matter which way you look at it. The mother of the accused is still is mother, and I am sure she wants to believe her son is innocent because she loves him. I am not making any excuses for her, but for people to come on here and bash her is not neccassary. the fault lies with her son (if he is guilty) and not her. I know that if I was a mother, it would be hard for me to wrap around the fact that my son possibly killed two people. with that said she should not be naive enough to believe that her son is not capable of such a crime knowing his past history. all i can say is that women, when a man makes a threat against you please take it seriously. you never know what someone is capable of, especially during the heat of the moment. I don’t think we should point the finger at whose is to blame except the person who took the lives of two people. we all sometimes get caught up in situations that are hard to break free from and for us to judge Jennifer’s sister is not right. how many of us have mothers, sisters, or female cousins who stay with trifling men, but we know there is nothing we can do to make them leave. it is easy for us on the outside looking in to judge, but unless you know the full story we should be careful who we place judge. remeber Julia lost her mother and brother too!

I am a criminal law student, and I know that Blacks are given HARDER SENTENCES when Whites are let off with a warning or given a FINE. Life isnt fair. I heard on MSNBC that the sister, Julia, was the one who found her mother dead in the living room and called the police, so I dont believe she is missing.
There seems to be a lot of fog around this whole case. Different news stations are reporting different things. The only facts we will know will come from the police when they THEMSELVES make another statement concerning the case, not hearsay from the media.

But I think it is counter productive to have all these criticisms at this time.

This is very true!!! Does not matter if your background is Super Clean or Dirty as hell, the fact remains that women and men commit crimes everyday. As an indivisdual you have to be very pay close attention to everyone in your life, so that you can protect yourself, your babies, and you family.

May god bless all the people involved that are mourning and in pain over this. No matter what this event is tragic. I will just send all the positive energy and my heartfelt condolescences to all the people who knew the victims, Jennifer and Julia (wherever she is).

The man’s mother need to get with reality. Her son took away a mother and a brother. He has forever shattered that family. His mother is sitting there talking about she didn’t raise no murderer. Where was she when his behind was getting into trouble? Where was she when he got out of prison and still went down the wrong path? The first sign of him slipping she should have checked him and set him straight. Jennifer has no mother and no brother and her sister is over there logging on to myspace when she should be grieving and trying to figure how in the hell she let this man into her life. He has taken away the foundation of that family. How would he like it if someone took his mother away or another member of his family? I bet he wouldn’t like it.
My condolesences to the Hudsons. This is just sad. Instead of planning for the happiest day of her life, she is now planning for two funerals. Just brings tears to my eyes.

Julia: Maybe it isn’t her logging on or maybe she does have family/friends & that’s her method of communication to keep everybody abreast. It’s been said that they were childhood friends & people do change over the years Yeah, she dealt with a thug, so the FUCK WHAT. She maybe thought it was safer dealing with somebody she knew for a long time as opposed to dealing with someone she just met. You never know, so don’t pop shit about her or judge her.

you have your opoinion and i have mine & yes his mother is still crazy for defending her criminal son when she knows damn well he is guilty,look i live in houston,and not too long ago this year,fathers day to be exact,a black married couple with almost the same situation as julia’s only they had their on place,the mother seperated from the husband a thug and a criminal on parole mind you,and the nigga had the nerve to move to the same complex they lived in after they seperated,on fathers day the father and i use the word father loosly,came and got the kids a boy and a girl just simply beautiful kids,they were never saw again,to make a long story short,the father said they went outside to play and that someone kidnapped them turns out the father took his kids to the woods killed both of them i believe he cut them up and put them in suitcases and left them there i also think he tried to burn them too,all the while stating he didn’t do it,and guess what his momma went on tv stating that her son is innocent,that he wouldn’t kill his kids and that the childrens mother was a lier telling everybody her son did it,well turns out he did do it,and eventually he confessed,he also use to beat his wife,threaten to kill her,he also had a seperate apartment that he called the dungen where he looked like he has taken other people there and did god knows what to them,if i’m not mistaken this made nation wide news,again another crazy mother defending her criminal son when she knew his ass was guilty,and another black female dating and marrying another known felon,ex convict,meanince to society,also after the no good niggro confessed his mother never did get back on tv to appologize to the mother or the media she kept her damn mouth closed and also went into hiding,dodging the reporters,just one more example,thats why i’m pissed and angry about this situation

You are correct. They can hold up to 48 hours. After 48 hours they can move the court for another 24 hours under certain circumstances

I just watched Julia’s interview on TMZ, and I must apologize for my comments earlier posted about her. THIS IS A mother, sister, daughter trying to hold herself together and loves her child. Yes, we on the outside looking in can say what we want, but NEVER been in this situation maybe her approach based on advise she has been given is best. I am so sorry and sad for their loss. I will be praying for them tonight!!!!

My sympathies to Jen and family. William’s mother needs to stfu….talking about “she didn’t raise no murderer!” Her son already served time for attempted murder. Why is it inconceivable to her that he would kill folks who’ve helped him?
However, Julia is partly responsible. WTH was she doing bringing a convict into her life and family’s life? She will have to live with the possibility that her mom, (maybe son) and brother would be alive but for this waste of space that she thought enough of to marry, feed and house.

I have to wonder if this mother has any feelings. She is the step Grandmother of Julian. In her plea, she never said my Grandson!!! Pretty Cold. She only mentioned the son that I noticed a few months ago by looking at his and Julia’s page; he was not a good person. No one should be blinded by the fact that “Thugs” are just what they are “Thugs”. If he did not have anything to do with it, why is he not cooperating. He had several hours to take Julian away without being noticed. This is sad and black on black crime is worse. We need to face the fact that we are killing and destroying our own lives. People please stop accepting less and understand you can have the best if you just wait. Let’s educate our youth and let them know that violence is not the answer. I pray Julian is returned unharmed very soon. My gut tells me otherwise, but I will continue to pray until I hear differently. The Hudson Family deserves some good news out of this tragedy!!!!

I think that on top of Balfour being kicked out of the house by Jen’s Mom and Julia , he was likely sexually abusing her son too. I pray that they find the boy alive, but if Balfour isn’t talking, we already know what the outcome is to this already horrific story.

My mother died when I was a teenager, so I know how it feels to lose your mother. Hell, yes I would walk the street of Chicago looking for my child. Fliers in hand going door to door, crying and pleading with people to help me find my child. If I’ve just lost my mother and brother, I’m sure not going to sit back and log onto Myspace and change my emoticons status to numb. Myspace does allow police access to peoples Myspace pages during a investigation but they do not change you emotion status. So yes I would be out looking for my baby. I’m not about to sit back and wait for something to happen.The first 24 hours in a disappearance are crucial because most people who are missing for more than 24 hours are usually dead. And I’m getting the impression that the mother was the one raising the son.

Oh yes I know a girl I grew up with her husband and father of her two children was going around all over town raping people literally breaking into peoples homes and raping them and leaving sometimes he would rob them as well. The way he got caught was he literally jumped off of the last victims balcony and got shot and taken into custody. Her and her family were at all of his court dates saying he was innocent even with him being taken into custody and shot and right outside of the victims house but they still didn’t believe it just crazy. In the end whatever is going to come out will come out this negro is not that smart and if her sister or whomever is involved God will see to it that they are exposed. However we must not point fingers and assume because if it was our child we would never want someone to implicate that we had something to do with our family being murdered and our child being abducted that is a horrible thought.

Personally I could care less if people are saying he is a thug or whatever, I’m just saying how could some of you say that it could be somebody else logging into her page and we know it cant be him he’s in custody and it was confirmed by the news today that he was around the resident around the time that the murders were committed and the truck was parked 2 miles from his pregnant girlfriends house and how was there no forced entry into the residence at the time of the murder. Who the hell else could commit this crime but someone close to the family? Do you not watch T.V. or other cases that start out like this? So why would’nt these two be the prime suspects. I feel for Jennifer because she would never feel like she has a place to call home again and her primary family member have been killed but I would be conducting extensive investigation interviews with the mother as well.

I watched Jennifer on American Idol and I loved her. She seems like a wonderful, Christian woman. I feel for her and her family. I have been reading the comments on this site and I am shocked by some of them. I do not know if this man did it but I know that it sure seems like he did. He has a history of violence and he did make threats against the family. I love my children but I would never knowingly defend them when I know that they have a violent personality. The man is a convicted,VIOLENT crimminal. His mother sounds ignorant by her statements to the media.

Do you watch the news? More white men commit crimes against children and women than black men. And most of this crimes are sexual in nature. These crimes are so horrific.
