Jennifer Hudson has reportedly arrived to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. Authorities have confirmed that the body is indeed that of Julian King. The Medical Examiner also reports that the boy suffered a gun shot wound in the head. This Examiner’s report is not yet conclusive.
TheYBF.com has also learned that Jennifer Hudson will supposedly give a press conference around 5p cst today in Chicago. There is no word on if this press conference will be televised or which details of the Hudson tragedy will be discussed.
UPDATE: Chicago’s Police Department is conducting a public press conference right now but Jennifer Hudson is not in attendance. She very likely may not have been up to it after just having to identify her nephew. Horrifyingly sad situation.

I am horrified by this. I cried when i found out this baby was found dead. I was hoping they were going to find him alive. I will continue to pray for the hudson family I can only imagine what they are going through. I pray that Jennifer and her sister as well as the rest of thier family are able to one day move on and forgive the person that did this and put it in God’s hands.

This story sounds so suspect. After doing all this killing dude went to lay up at the girlfriends house? Granted any individual who would commit these acts is truly disturbed, but he left a trail of breadcrumbs leading back to his ass. I just hope the ex-husband is guilty and the Chicago police don’t just beat a confession out of him to close the case. Because anyone involved with this sickness needs to be put under the jail. Life in prison, the only death sentence needs to come from the inmates, lethal injection is too easy.

My heart has been aching all day. I live in Chicago and its so close to home for me because i know where both locations are really well. I just been asking GOD to give this family strength because they will need alot of it. Whomever is responsible, no matter if its 1 or more then 1 will be punished for this crime. My theory is that he took that little boy, killed him and parked that truck before he was picked up on friday. This appears to be some deranged jail house scheme. Well, sorry, but this is what I do, this is how I process my info & deal with certain situations. You can be the patient one & wait on these trifling azz police because if you had asked me since Friday i coulda told you that the little boy was dead. The boy is a witness to the crime, so that’s why the sick bastard killed him and if he’s sick enough to do that, he’s sick enough to molest him too.

These events are so unbelievable. it is hard enough to bury one family member, but three and over somthing so senseless. whoever did this will surely have to answer to God because no amount of punishment on this Earth is sufficent. to kill a child is just horrible, and poor Jennifer and her sister are the only members of their immedate family. may God bless them and keep them. Just stating my opinion…but like somebody esle said…..something just isnt sitting right with me and Julia. I dont think she had a hand in the killin beside marrying the FOOL, but I cant put my finger on it….but something aint right with her.
1.something about her adding new friends to her myspace up until they found her child’s body…..and not f*n deleting that fool pic’s from her page.
2. Her reaction during the press conference, yea everyone handles grief different, she didnt look like she lost a night’s sleep and her wording when she spoke, she didnt choke up or nothing…she just lost her mother and brother to which she found them and her son was missing at the time.
3. Even Jennifer could not speak out, she had a spokesperson for her.
4. And I’m just saying and somebody else stated this in class, that hopfully in this time of grief Julia’s not looking for attention because for so long Jennifer had the attention.she made a comment on her myspace page that Jason and Jennifer was her mother favorite.

This has been very hard for me the last few days to hear about this tragedy. I am so sorry for the Hudson’s lost.
At this point, I am convinced they have the right man in custody. It is obvious this guy didnt intend at first to kill this child based on him being found in the SUV instead of in the family home along with the mother and brother. I think he panicked once he realized that he would be immediately connected to the murders and the family and killed the child so that Julian wouldnt be able to connect him directly to the murders.
I am truly saddened it had to come down to this outcome :(.

This is wrong for me to say and I have not commented anything badly about this, only prayers and condolences. I prayed and prayed for this little boy to be ok. My heart knew ,too much time went by. Ppl like reward money. I knew this baby was not alive. I too beleive he was killed because he was old enough to identify who ever did this. This is my opinion and I am entitled. I think William is connected to this, whether he pulled the trigger or not.
Some comments mentioned the use of myspace. I can’t believe that I would have much alone time for anything but self medicating. There is no way my family and friends are not going to be with me(that I would take time to chat/post online, at this curcial time in my life. I know everyone is different but sometimes it’s the little things that we do or don’t do that make “us suspects”. I could not have held a press converence asking for the return of my child without more emotion than she had. I would not have been able to get through one minute of it.

1. I am so sorry that anyone has lost a child. I cant imagine and never want to experience that kind of pain.
2. I am glad to hear that the neighborhood had GhettoCams on the block. Maybe they can put their finger on who is involved.
3. I think he was conspiring with his girlfriend to do these crimes. These crimes had a lot of rage behind them and to kill someones child was meant to silence that child and hurt (Julia) someone. This is one sick twisted fukker and I am putting $5 on it being the girlfriend in on it. She spoke up on his timeline and I dont see someones buddy being so passionate about hurting this family.
4. I know this is horrible for the family (what is left of it) and I am sorry to say it..but I do blame Julia 50% on this nonsense. She allowed this person to get close to her family and child. No matter how much game he was spitting..she was married to him for a couple of years..in your heart you know when someone is not ‘right’….you know when someone is offcenter. If she were my sister I could not deal with her anymore…I could not be the better person. I know it is wrong but that is me.

and just another thing about the car.. if you google map where the car was, its not on some super busy street. theres a lot of vacant lots around there, like 6 of them. so there is the possibility that no one really saw it. as for the man who called to report it, why didnt he keep on calling it?? and as for the people who say that it wasn’t there, you ask a nigga something and theyll say anything, probably wasn’t even over there.. that doesnt mean the car wasnt there though, that just means they didnt pay it any attention. ive been seeing people say they did see it, but didnt think about it. i mean its not like theres only 1 white suburban in the world. and i know that on the westside you cant just roll up on someones car looking all inside of it. and if they had, its not like they couldve saved his life. it was more of the POLICES RESPONSIBILITY to patrol around there knowing they had found him nearby, the boy was 5 blocks away. as much as the police be on the block on the southside and the westside… they probably saw that car more than the civilian folks did..

Maybe the large amount of crime in Chicago will now have a spotlight casted on it. We have a higher crime rate than LA & NYC. A few weeks ago an innocent teen girl was shot by a stray bullet on a bus, several weeks ago a several people were found shot dead in a house, another little girl was missing and found stabbed to death, another young girl was visting her grandmother and shot by a car driving by…I could go on… Pray for this city, and ALL cities and families dealing with violence.

SandraRose.com had to go there because I hope every Black woman who hear this horrible news and know they in the same situation as Julia Hudson are personally shocked enough to decide these thugs ain’t worth it. I will say this, Jennifer and her relatives do have grounds for suing the police department for negligence and wrongful death. They did not respond to the call within a timely manner and there is a possibility that her mother and brother could have survived their injuries. Things like this have happened before. However, the police department’s illogical justification that the neighborhood is known for “random gunfire” is not a valid excuse for their gratuitous delay in response.
Some things are amiss in this entire situation, however Balfour’s statement that he would not tell the authorities where Julian was is especially damning and creates a high amount of suspicion.

The internet has made a generation of people desensitized to a lot of things. One thing that I do find upsetting is that, instead of allowing the family to have their time of grief, some people are using this situation as a vehicle to further their own ideas and opinions. So Julia’s voice didn’t crack at the press conference. So she didn’t look like she had lost any sleep. How in the world would any of these people know exactly how this woman is when she’s at home? And who are these people to go and take the gumption to form an opinion about someone that they have never met? Not everyone reacts to situations like this in the same manner. What you may think is normal, is normal only to you. Everyone has their own way of dealing with things. So rather than using the situation as a soap box to further some personal, long-held opinion, offer your condolences and keep it moving.

Julian was off from school…I think someone mentioned professional day or something like that for the kids. I’m not sure how Julia made it to work.. she is a bus driver *shrugs* Maybe she starts her shift early and got dropped off and he returned home.

This is so true!! I’m willing to bet that the majority of people nit-picking at this situation and Julia’s reaction has NOT lost their mother, brother, and child within a few days. I haven’t had that happen, thank GOD, but my seven year old daughter was killed by a drunk driver a few years ago. I couldn’t believe that instead of consoling me at the funeral, people were actually were put off because I kept my composure. I was SAD. I was beyond out of my mind. I just wish it was more that I could do than to just pray. Things like this just shouldn’t happen. It makes me rethink having children. It is very possible that she drives for high school or elementary. Not all schools are out at the same time. I’m not sure how Chicago’s School districts are structured, but if they have several districts, then not all districts are going to be out on the same days for school-related days off, like Teacher days and Professional Workshop days.

This is just past sad. Like everyone else, I was hoping against hope that they found that little boy alive – it would have been at least on glimmer of good news amidst this horrific tragedy.

There is a glorification of thugs in our community – in all our communities – African-American, African-Caribbean and African. I know a few chicks (but that is still a few too many) who openly admit that they ‘love gangsters’. Not every thug is a killer, obviously, but some are. This man Balfour clearly was because he had attempted to kill before and this had to have been known. As black women we must have more respect and love for ourselves than to bring these kind of men into our lives and that of our family. They are like a cancer. Personal rumination would have been a wiser choice for Dave and Sandra to take, at least until after the situation had been resolved, if only out of respect for the family. We all make mistakes in our lives when it comes to bringing people into our lives, but this type of discourse concerning the community could have been brought up at a later time. This family has enough stress to deal with as it is and detailing someone about their mistakes in behavioral decisions and personal aspects of their lives really is moot right now. The fact of the matter remains that a family has lost three members over the weekend and now they have to pick up the pieces.
While there could possibly be nothing inherently wrong with what Dave and Sandra said, the timing was poor and a bit insensitive to say the least.

Yep, he’s being held for parole violation not related to this… probably selling Julia’s car, earlier dispute, etc. He would have been out by now…No charges have been filed yet. Some sources saying other people are being questioned/looked for. As far as the inside stuff, doubt media will know for sure until evidence,etc is finalized and a charge can be definitely bought up. Last I’ve heard is a suspect’s tshirt being examined for gunshot residue.

I agree in a way: The timing between the shots and police arrival; the search team incompetence in finding that car parked within miles from where the suspect was picked up (no overhead helicopters,etc); and I feel like a reward was issued too late knowing no one is gonna speak up and risk their life without something sadly (no snitchin’ bs…they’re had to be nosey people around or talks about beef with the Hudsons. Hood folks love to speak, but don’t tell the PD what they know). Maybe mentioning the reward the same day as the tv plea for anyone with information would be somewhat effective.
I give the cops though some benefit of the doubt since there is speculation that the car was driven there this morning and hasn’t been there since Saturday.
I also agree with someone else that the Police is working harder due to JHud’s celebrity status. The shock of this and how fast updates are reaching the masses is keeping interest in the case.

this whole situation is terrible. I can’t even imagine trying to understand it. But, men do this sort of shit all the time. The reason it’s so painful now is because it’s Jennifer Hudson. People who live in nice houses in the suburbs, people who live in apartments, people who live in the ghetto get angry and kill the wife the kids the mother in law the father in law the dog a couple of neighbors a policeman. All of it done in an effort to get back at someone. It is not because someone is black. It’s not because some woman talked shit to him and he didn’t like it. Wow…so unless I missed it somewhere the police haven’t CONFIRMED that it was Balfour who comitted the crime so why is everyone so quick to say that it was him. And he was her sister’s EX HUSBAND so she obviously at some point realized she made a mistake by being with him and got a divorce..and I think we ALL can say we’ve been with someone at some point who was wrong for us. I have read over the post and think each and everyone has valid points. I have a few questions:
Why would the police transfer him to prison if he is a person of interest? They can hold him for 72 hours without even pressing charges. Could it be for his safety? I notice they will not release his location.
Is it practice or policy that the police do not respond to shots fired? Had they responded, is it true that someone was shot through the front door? If so, brother went running and mom came to see what happened? Location of the bodies. If the FBI were involved, they had the person of interest in custody, why a reward and 2 days later.
I agree that we need to look at ourselves on this one. Accepting a violent criminal in your circle/code of honor seems a little weak. I too look at Julia’s reaction and comments….”IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE WITH ME, TAKE IT UP WITH ME AND NOT MY SON” really bothers me. Because if the husband is in custody and they (police and others) really felt he was the one, why not arrange for her to plea with him directly?

One note, we are not CSI to go through details and make our own assumption so let the people involved conduct the investigation. Please dont blame Julia, for her marrying William, we didnt know what happen or what went on between them then. I dont know William or Julia personally, so I’m not entitled to have any say on why they got married. Nobody is perfect. In our moment of weakness, a lot of us had made mistakes and misjudgement, but not all of us had to see something like this happen to us. So fellow women, what we should do just now is to give her support. Maybe she once made a mistake, and now suffer for it (if William B is truly the heartless killer) and sistas should have eachother’s back. i said the same thing…something is very fishy here. on julia’s my space page, she said out of all of the 10 people who she loves the most, the one most likely to get arrested was “william.” she also mentioned that she was controlling and was “liable to start some s_ _t at any time”…and that her favorite thing is d_ _k. all of this speculation is wrong, but how much responsibility is on this family who, unfortunately lost their lives over something that may or may not have been ridiculous…regardless…condolences to this family.

Vegasgal, people grieve in different ways and at different times. My mother just recently passed and I didn’t shed a tear at the wake. In fact, I was smiling for pictures and making joking with my cousin. Later, in the privacy of my home, I allowed myself to grieve.

She wants to take Julia to task because her hair was done at the press conference and if she had done some investigating she would have know that Julia’s Bday was Oct 23rd the day before the murders, It’s very possible that the Woman had her hair done for her Bday, And were all acting like Doctors and Lawyers have not up and killed their familes for whatever reason.. It’s a combination of anger, disbelief and sadness that I feel. I don’t wanna say I fully agree with the comments made on that other site but come on now people… Assuming that he is the killer…I’m angry at her for letting him be near her son and family, knowing they’ve had disputes, knowing that this brother isn’t the best brother for you and your son, you still let him come near. I do believe it’s apart of having low self esteem too. As a black community we need to start knowing how to love ourselves. Stop trying to find love from everybody else.
This tragedy isn’t unique to this family but we feel it more because we *know* Jennifer, we see her on sites like YBF, but this happens to alot of our black families. From domestic violence to child abuse it happens everyday in some families and It’s not just *thugs* either.
Black women you need to save yourselves. Love you before trying to love anyone else and if you can’t save you save your children. Black moms are firece they don’t let nothing hurt their kids but they do stupid ish all the time like let men who are just little boys come in thier lives and mess them up.
I wish I could take back the last few days and the tears that I and so many others have shed over this horrific tragedy…How can you do that to a child? But what we can do is take responsibility for the people we let in our life… Love me first and the good ones will see it and come running. I’m crying right now thinking about that baby. 7 years old, shot in the head…How many times do we have to see that headline for us to take action? But can you imagine if your husband, estrange at-that, was a SUSPECT in your mothers,brothers, and son’s horrible death. Would you still have his pictures up on your Myspace page. And would you still have comments of how he is your best friend…..two things either she is in denial or she thinks he didnt do it.
and in my husband’s opinions he believes she keeps the pictures up for the women he was with and the women who is having his child, he believe its some deep underline issues between the two, that spark out his rage againt Julia.
but at this point, her Mother, brother and Son are dead behind some senseless mess. One thing that Julia said in the press conference the haunts me, she said if someone has a problem with me, then take it up with me…And I was thinking they already did. they killed ur family.

We all made a bad choice at some point regarding a man and this is one she has to live with for the rest of her life. My heart goes out to Julia and the rest of the family. So sad.

My heart goes out to the entire Hudson family. This is such a tragedy. To take the life of any one person much less a innocent child just rips my heart out. I hope that they give the kiler exactly what he deserves. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. I hope Jennifer and her sister can overcome their grief and find peace at some point and time and may the family find solace in their faith and the justice system’s quick action.

This is such a tragedy and I am deeply saddened, and feel horrible for Jennifer Hudson; but, I truly believe that her sister, Julia, had something to do with this. She is very suspect — NO TRUE MOTHER would ever post on her myspace page when her son is missing, and DEFINITELY after it has been determined that her son has been found murdered! What the hell! You would be so distraught that you wouldn’t be able to think straight, let along post on a damned myspace page! My mother passed away a few years ago (and she wasn’t murdered), and it was mind boggling. I’d expect someone like a cousin to post (if they felt compelled), but the mother! Not only did she lose her son, she lost her mother and only brother! Come on! Something is not right her. I pray that whoever committed this most heinous act will be found out soon. GOD HELP JENNIFER, and GOD HELP US ALL.

William Balfour — the “person of interest” in the murders of Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew — isn’t the first Balfour to run afoul of the law.
Balfour’s father is currently serving a 30-year prison sentence for murder. His brother served time for drug dealing.
Balfour himself has served time for attempted murder and carjacking.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Balfour was a member of the Gangster Disciple Street Gang.
Also according to court docs, Balfour told the judge back in 1999 he had a good relationship with his mother until “she gets an attitude.”
