The Case Builds Against William Balfour & Other Details About The Tragedy

Well it looks like criminal issues run in the Balfour family. Reports state that William Balfour’s father is currently serving a 30 year sentence for murder, while Balfour’s brother is served time for drug dealing. Authorities are currently holding Balfour on a parole violation–and it’s supposedly because he missed his mandatory anger management classes and substance abuse courses. He also served time for not only attempted murder, but for carjacking. He’s also allegedly a member of the Gangster Disciple Street Gang.
Authorities have yet to charge Balfour with anything, but honestly, at this point and with all the parallels, it seems like it’s only a matter of time.
William is the only suspect being held in custody at this time and is currently on parole for attempted murder and Drug Possession charges. Neighbors have stated over the past few days that William was quiet but they felt the need to keep their distance from him.

Jennifer Hudson’s aunt, Dorothy Hudson, owns a funeral home called Hudson Funeral Home in Chicago and it is believed that this is where the funeral services will take place later in the week. Here’s video discussing the latest tragedy updates and reports of Jennifer visiting the vigil outside of her family home:
The autopsy of little Julian King has happened. And reports say he was shot multiple times.

I couldn’t see her face just the bottom part of her body. Scared the crap out of me for a minute but I figured she was just checking in to see if I was OK. It was only for a second and she was gone.

I’m with you. I was scared when I was little but now I know she was just in her house. When my apt flooded I moved to my grandfather’s b/c he was never home and was always with his girlfriend down in SC and I slept in her old bedroom. after she died my grandfather moved into a bedroom downstairs. They have a huge house with like 7 bedrooms and I figured that was the safest one.

I actually dream about my loved ones all the time. I have no problem with that.. Just seeing them is a different story. And god knows that, that is why He allows them to speak to me through dreams… I love it when I dream about them, because it is so vivid. It’s harder when I wake up though, because I’m looking around like..”Are you there?”
I always dream about my sister. We didn’t get along good when she was here, so most of my dreams are about us fighting, but I think that there is a message behind it, I just haven’t figured it out yet.

a very lonely and needy person, it’s sad but true she even stated she is always bored, maybe his crazy ass supplied her with endless amounts of crazy pleasure. The sad part is if she was bored before…I cant imagine how alone she must feel now. no son, mother, brother, her husband lock-up and her sister is famous. Now I understand why shes always on Myspace, she needs friends and attention.

Jumping to conclusions, although he is the primary suspect in my mind, if the police have a lack of evidence like fingerprints and such (because he lived in the house and drove the vehicle any DNA found will not really count against him) he may never be charged. Convicts run in the family? I’m sure if you go to his neighborhood you’d be hard pressed to find a black man his age without a record, sad but true. But this crime goes far beyond Being a dumb broke ass 20 year old, car jacking someone will get you a Attempted Murder Charge if a weapon was used in the carjacking. I am not saying he is innocent but with a high profile case like this the police will be pressured to accuse someone and the real killer may be going free. I have to wait for more information, and for him to be charged, why haven’t the police charged him already, they probably don’t have enough evidence for the DA to get a conviction.

What does his record say about Julia character?
That she was a person who didn’t judge him about a mistake made when he was 20. That she had a open heart and was ready to love. That she wanted to be happy and have a family. They were married, he wasn’t someone who hit it and quit it. We all know how men are, they paint a picture you want to see, shit I don’t believe she was flooded with proposals and this man may have been good to her and her son before his true colors began to show, many a woman marries the wrong man, Scott Peterson didn’t have a criminal record but he sure as hell killed his wife and unborn child. No man comes into a relationship claiming they ain’t shit and they are going to break your heart. But what I do respect about Julia is the fact she put him out and got a restraining order, just because she chose the wrong man she wasn’t too weak to leave him.

I know a mother’s love is unconditional and his mother really loves him but she sounds so ignorant.
On Tuesday, William Balfour’s mother, Michele Davis-Balfour, told CNN that her son had nothing to do with the slayings.
“I’m sorry this happened to this girl’s family, but they’re not going to put it on my own son,” she said. “He hasn’t been framed, but he’s been wrongly accused.”
She said that after her son got out of prison, he was trying to improve his life by working at a sandwich shop. She also said he obtained his GED in prison by studying horticulture. “How many minorities are in the penitentiary and study horticulture?” she said.
who cares what he was studying…a mother knows deep down when a son is no good. you might not want to believe it but you know.

Coming from another source about the Hudson Family deaths
We are receiving reports that the tabloids have dispatched reporters to Chicago and the writers are swarming around this story; offering people (family, friends, neighbors) big bucks to reveal information.
We also heard former American Idol contestants who appeared on the show the same year as Jennifer are also being offered cash for information.
The tabloids are offering: $500-$2000, depending on the information.
We’ve also been informed that the case may be taking a very interesting yet disturbing turn. Allegedly, it’s more to this case than what meets the eye and certain individuals have not been forthcoming according to our source. Stay tuned.
Stay tuned.
**hmmmm, please to let Julia have nothing to do with this**
I cut and pasted this for you.
I don’t think she was even thinking about his past when they hooked up. *(pulling on my colorful protective cape as I say this). I think Julia may have had some self esteem issues: and if dude was acting all into her, she fell in “love” and didn’t think twice about his past. They were having a good time. Her sister’s got some money, they doing this and that, he’s telling her he loves her…etc. I think when he realized it wasn’t gonna be a ticket to cash money wonderland he started tripping. Then she realized she had problems. He didn’t want her with nobody else because he was still holding out for sis-n-law to break the bank and let the love overflow. I mean lets face it Jen got Money, but she was at the beginning of her money train. When he found out about the new boo, the pressure started building-up and something happened between Thurs. & Friday, to set him off, that Julia is aware of. She’s devastated I’m sure, but very conscious of the circumstances I’m sure of as well. IMO. folks IMO

But suspicious details emerged Monday.
A neighbor on William Balfour’s girlfriend’s block, in the 1900 block of South Spaulding, said he saw a man who he now believes was Balfour park a white SUV across from his house about noon Friday. He watched the man fiddle around with something in the glove box and then leave the car and walk about half a block — glancing over his shoulder the whole way — to the house where Balfour was later arrested.
At that time, no one in the city knew about the slayings, and it would be hours before an alert would be issued for Julian that said he might be in a white Chevy Suburban driven by Balfour.
“[The boy] had to be in the car,’’ said the neighbor, Willie Graham. “I figure he had to be. I wished I had known.”
One theory is that Julian was shot inside the SUV soon after he was taken from home. Donerson, 57, and Jason Hudson, 29, were believed to have been shot after a confrontation started at the front door, sources said.
The possible sighting of Balfour on his girlfriend’s block is potentially important because, if true, it puts him in the white Suburban after the murders, which police believe happened around 8 or 9 a.m. Friday, and before the discovery of Julian’s body inside the vehicle Monday morning. Sources say Balfour’s alibi has already been contradicted by his girlfriend, and his cell phone records raise suspicions about his account of his whereabouts. Police were able to track him Friday through cell phone records, sources said.
Police also have been told that Balfour and Julia Hudson had been at the Yale home early Friday before the shootings and may have argued. A family friend said Balfour had made threats against the family and Julian. Julia Hudson and Balfour are believed to have had ongoing domestic problems.

First, of all my heart goes out to the Hudson family and I pray that God gives them Peace. But, I might be wrong but something about this situation is not right, I truly believe that the mother (jennifer sister) knows something or had something to do with this murder. As a mother myself, there is no way that you could stand there and make a statement or plea without being in emotional tears, THERE IS JUST NO WAY!!!!! I pray my theory is not true, because it seems like this was drug related and she knows it and who ever did this made a example to show them that they mean business.

First of all I think it is very tasteless and juvenile for grown people to be calling first and ish especially in a post as serious and as heartbreaking as this.
Secondly I cannot even begin to imagine what would possess anyone to take the life of a helpless little child especially in such a brutal matter. I have 2 boys and even though their dad and I aren’t together, and I am quite lonely, I refuse to just go out and date just anyone because I know the effect that bringing the wrong person into your kids life can have and I’ll be damned if I allow anyone to hurt my kids.
Third of all I know that some big women say yeah I’m big and I love it but let us be honest, I have always struggled with my weight but I make sure that I never get to big. People never really want to be big but it is hard work breaking certain habits and staying a healthy but good size, so when women say yeah I’m big but I love it they are only saying that to boost their confidence but then as soon as a guy who they fel is maybe good looking and they feel they do not deserve, even though every ounce of their body is telling them not to get involved with that person, they do it anyway cause they feel they would never get anyone else which I think is the reason her sister got with this dude even though she had all the proof she needed to tell her he was no good.
I just hope and pray that they get through this and can hopefully move forward but it is easy for most to say as most of us probably have never been in the same situation.

My father was murdered 5 years before my 15th b-day. I was partially waking up from a nap when I felt someone walk into my bedroom and sat at the edge of my bed. I didn’t open my eyes because I thought it was just my sister bugging me. So, I lifted my hand and placed it on I thought was my sister’s head, but instead I felt a head full of curly hair (my sister does not have this type of hair). I jumped up out of my bed and of course no one was there, but I knew it was my father.

Open question: (This is only a question, don’t jump down my throat.)
After seeing all the reports about William and his history, what kind of picture does this paint about Julia?
Okay, let me be clear so no one jumps down my throat when I say this. I think Julia was and is very insecure and lonely. No I don’t know her personally & no I don’t think all big girls are insecure and lonely either.
I’m saying this because if you have seen her myspace and looked through her pictures and everything, then you would know why I am saying this.
This is her tragic story but it could’ve been any of ours. Anyone who feels insecure about themselves, will jump at the chance of love with someone who leads them to believe they love them too (this goes for skinny girl, medium girls, thick, big, huge, etc. however you class yourself, hell it goes for men too!). Love is a dangerous thing, you could be madly in love with someone, doesn’t mean their love is as deep or that they have any love for you at all.
So yes it paints a picture of some with low self-esteem, low standards and extra, but then again it paints a picture of someone who was eager to find love and sweet and loving enough to look beyond this fools record (however looking being attempted murder is… questionable to say the least).
All that being said, I still don’t think that she was stupid, dumb, selfish or any of the other put downs I’ve read or heard about her in the media. She was a great daughter, sister and mother, she just made a bad choice with her heart that costed her 3 members of her family.

@ Blaq
There is a time in our relationships when we have to ask ourselves is love enough? Clearly the man past is who he is today because he failed to take anger classes. If he wanted to change why did he not go get help? She chose to date a thug! That is her business, but to make it as though she did a noble thing is a stretch to me. A woman ought to look past a man’s flaws and see him for the man that he is. Out of respect sis I do not think that point applies to this situation. This was a case of a woman being with anyone who would be with her! I mean they said he is a member of the Gangster Disciple Street Gang. Come on! When we say we want thugs and this and that this is the reality of it! If he was a changed man he would have been paying on that woman’s car. Not staying at her mommas house and shacking with another woman! He is NOT a stand up dude and the police are putting the pieces to together as I type.

Love is never dangerous. Her love for or or insecurity or whatever you want to call it didn’t kill her F**ck**g family!
I don’t care if she was the most insecure, low self-esteem having self, that didn’t have her whole family killed. You know why I say that?
Because there are women that are completely confident and love themselves and are still killed by raging lunatics who can pass them off as someone that loves them.
This man was evil. Scratch that. This animal was evil. He was blessed to have someone that loved him! He was blessed to have a family move him in even with his past.
It was he who blew those blessings away and I hope he suffers dearly for it. I hope the city comes hard on these gangbanging thugs. I have lost family to senseless violence and it is never the victims fault.
Then the crime scene becomes key! There was no forced entry, the mother was shot down stairs and the brother upstaris, julian was kidnapped and neighbors didn’t notice anything after they reported hearing gunshots; not even an unfamilar car. Some would argue that was because it was done by someone they know. Someone who wouldn’t be seen as “misplaced” at the crime scene. I’m sure he was counting on the evidence of him being at the crime scene as not being out of the ordinary, part of his plan. But who else would have access to the car Julian was found in? him and the decesed; he’s not to bright.

I will say it. I don’t want to be judgemental but from the outside looking in Julia made poor decisions. First of all you knew what type of brother this was (not the kind you bring around a at that time 5-year-old child), Secondly, you married this thug, it is apparent this gangsta had not changed. From the sounds of it Mom was raising her child and she had this thug motherf***er, living in mom’s house. And now you on my space talking about your love for him. Him and love would not even come out of my mouth after what he did to my beautiful family. On the other hand his actions is not her fault, but I am sure she will blame herself for her judgement. Don’t get me wrong you marry someone and they turn crazed and try to kill you, shame on dude. But this nicca right here was in jail for attempted murder, come on attempted murder, around my family.
I can’t believe William Balfour’s stupid mother on Nancy Grace. “Oh my poor son. Everybody is just lyin’ about him. He never attempted to murder anybody ever before. That man he stoll the car from just shouldn’t tried to stop him from stealin it. He jumped up on the car. Damn he shoulda just let him steal it. Don’t Ya Know he just a poor innocent littl’ baby. All he ever wanted was to just join some gangs, and sleep with all kinda girls. They was just all up in his business.”
oo i know. she is making his case worse. it looks like he came from a long line of murderers and irration ignoramuses. shes saying julia planted the coke in his car from his parole violation in june (william said the cops did, to his mother). she said ‘why isn’t his parole officer fired if he didn’t arrest my son for violating his parole?’ shes saying that jason sold drugs out of the house. but her son did horticulture in prison. so hes the good guy. um, he gone be growing plants through the ceiling then, cause hes about to be in jail a long time.
i hate ms. balfour.. get it together..

My prayers of comfort and peace go out the Hudson family. This incident is a horrific tragedy and whoever is responsible will be held accountable in this world and by the hand of God.
I can only imagine the shock and pain.
We love you Jennifer!

oh so now Williams mother is saying Jason sold drugs. So i guess the Drug mob came in killed everybody, kidnap the boy and stoled the car, killed the child in the car,and just so happen left the suv couple miles away from Williams girlfriends house?
So would this makes Jason a big time drug-dealer living in his momma’s house, driving an old suv. So Jason was ballin out of control, that much that somebody came to kill the whole family….the mother is probably confused and talking about her other son the drug dealer.

Open question: (This is only a question, don’t jump down my throat.)
After seeing all the reports about William and his history, what kind of picture does this paint about Julia?
IMO. folks IMO
I agree. Everybody makes mistakes in love/life we just never expect them to turn out like this. I feel so sorry for and i can’t imagine what she’s going through right now. Everytime i think about it i just want to leave work and hug my baby up.

The police told her that? Was it an article or on the news? I didn’t see this i would have loved to see this. Saying her son is innocent and she didn’t raise a murderer nobody raises their kids be murderer what dumb woman she is, but his ass turned out that way and she is still defending him. I can’t defend any murderer i don’t care if its my family. Thats just me though.

For the most part - for those making silly comoments about “first” , “Oh no, I’m first comments” in this particular section which addresses a family tragedy is ludacris. The point that needs to come across is that we as women need to leave these crazy men alone. I myself have dealt with a crazy ass and had to walk away and demand he leave me alone. If it walks like fool, acts like a fool leave the sorry SOB alone! No need to bash Julia - I am quite sure her heart is heavy now. It is always an ass out there commenting on someone else’s issues when they are on the outside looking in - and damm it - it is always someone acting like they have the perfect life when all they probably do is blog all day long!

And she’s got no clue how STOOPIT she sounds talking about all her little Buckwheat-looking son’s business which I did not know until she opened her mouth. She’s doing a great job for the prosecution - keep it coming!

This is so bazaar that I don’t know how much I can take and I am in no way related to the Hudson family! Ms. Balfour…come on now…
OnOct 29, 2008 at 3:15 pm (Quote) | Reply |
i think it’s normal for Ms. Balfour to defend her son, i even think there is some truth to a “few” of her statements…especially when she said Julia struggled with William being with other women…..but where I think she trails off the mental bus is when she starts giving reasons for his former arrests and convictions….when you start saying it’s “everybody else’s fault” and you don’t accept that maybe, just maybe your son was a “menace to society” then she is in some unfortunate denial…..william might want to call his momma and tell her to quit takin’ phone calls….to defend him….cause she’s not the best publicist for him….
