Bring out those perfectly manicured claws. Kanye West talked to media outlets yesterday about his upcoming 808s and Heartbreak album. And when he was asked the motivation behind “Love Lockdown”, he said “This is a wakeup call … people in music get comfortable … Rappers get comfortable.” Then he said that’s exactly what happened to Beyonce. When Rihanna hit the scene B had to step her game up:
Rihanna was the best thing to happen to Beyonce’.
Kanye said that B did this with her new video “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).” He raved about the vid saying he never would have come up with that concept himself. Now we all know Mr. West rarely means any harm by the things he says–he just likes to speak his mind. But damn if this one isn’t going to cause a catty broken nail or two. I wonder if any of this stems from Ye and Rih Rih’s alleged recent and very public make out session. *pops popcorn and waits on the show*

Speaking of ‘Ye, broke ass Suge Knight is suing Kanye 3 years AFTER Suge himself was shot at one of Kanye’s pre-VMA parties in Miami. Suge says his $135k diamond stud earring went M.I.A. that night and now he’s suing “for damages for the loss of use and enjoyment of the earring.” He even had to ask special permission from the court to be able to keep the money if he actually wins the suit. Why? Because Suge has already filed for Bankruptcy. Womp womp.

Uh oh. I can just see the 500 comments comin! But I must agree with Kanye. Rihanna brought somethin fresh to the game and Beyonce had to sit up and take notice. That’s not a bad thing.

Ok as far as played out broke as a joke Suge wtf is wrong wit you now that u filling bankruptcy u wanna sue Kanye cause u spent all your money MC Hammer style and now you broke Im sure he has lost way more in the past but that ear ring stuck out to him**blank stare** Maybe Kanye got a point im from the Chi we all try to keep it 100 but aint really got the concept of sugar coating if Be take offense then it must be true she almost thirty and gotta try a lil bit harder to stay on top in this game Dont get me wrong I think she still shutn ish down but so is RHI RHI they both on a good streak rite now a cat fight would not be a good look
Wed, November 12, 2008 8:21 AM
In a way what kanye said was right, but it wasn’t new. every artist has someone come up under them that has to make them step there game up. old news, next!
Wed, November 12, 2008 8:22 AM
1)yeezy knows he’s wrong for saying that, yes it very well may be true and we have to all agree but something are just better left unsaid
2)i’m sorry i don’t think rihrih would make out with his schizo no-home-training (umm pissing on the floor??) ass, i heard that HE has/had a MAAAJOR crush on her i dunno how true that is
3)suge suge suge smh daammn homie and the worst part is no-one will ever feel sorry for his bulling ass and i have a sneaking suspicion that the karma is not through with that ass. team yeezy for that scenerio
Wed, November 12, 2008 8:23 AM
Being a B stan of course I don’t want to agree with ‘Ye but I do to a certain extent. However, Rih will never have to help B in the dancing or singing category. But as far as bringing something new, yeah she has. And Rihanna as a brand meaning the people behind her and not rihanna herself made B step her game up.

I see I will have to interrupt my daily scheduled knitting of my new Bey Stan outfit to whip Ye’s arse. I really hate too but I see I’ma have to activate my Bey powers early this morning.

Beyonce is a hardworker, everything has been handed to Rihanna in the last year and she STILL isn’t on the level of artists who have been out the same amount of time as her or longer. SMH Her vocals and live performances are dreadful and if she sounds the same and does the same shit on stage she did three years ago, that’s a problem. I agree with my dear Kanye (LOL), but at the same time, Bee always steps up her game once it’s time for her to release her new joints.

Wed, November 12, 2008 8:32 AM
Morning Ladies
I heard Tasha say that when I was driving in my car and I like WHAT
I do understand what Ye meant but there are alot of things he didn’t say Bey can sing and Rihanna can’t she is a studio singer. I like some of Rihanna singles but that is where it stop. She beat people over her head with GGGB like B did with B’Day. At the end of the day Bey is an ENTERTAINER period and that something Rihanna will never be. But why discuss someone else in your press conference Bey must be doing something right for Ye to mention her. I think if anything Rihanna should be compared to Britney.
Bey new cd is different but it is very good.
Wed, November 12, 2008 8:32 AM
Oh whatever Kanye he will say anything to sell album’s he really need to think before he talks he talk way to much
Rihanna is not on Beyonce level at all Beyonce has sold over
30 million albums Rihanna had to put her album out twice just so it could sell and her ass cant even sing live

Kanye is right, Beyonce is a talented lady, but Rihanna has the X factor, the girl always looks fabulous even in sneakers, jeans and a tee. she just has this thing going and people are loving it (myself included).

Being a Bey Stan I still can’t front on what Ye’ said. B had to step her game up, every time she steps on the scene her game is tighter. Rihanna is something fresh and fashionable, so Bey had to comeback with no Mercy.

I like both Bey & Rhi. Who cares if they’re dressed scantily clad when they perform? It’s for entertainment. They don’t go out the house on a day to day basis dressed like hoochies. But even if they did, it’s their perogative. Anyone that doesn’t like looking at them can turn the channel. It’s that simple. I don’t see the need for the debate.
Wed, November 12, 2008 8:52 AM
Okay Mr West.. LOL But i most def agree with him bey sure did have to step her game up.. Becuz we all know Ri Ri was shuting everything down. Of course her vocals cannot match bey’s or her proformance. Just like Beyonce does not have that soul swag like MJB. But with that being said Rihanna is just the baddest chick in the game right now. She does her own thing and ppl love it. Her style is ri-dic-u-lous. Point blank period and im out>>>>>>>

I’m not 100% yet (still meditating) but any artist that is a true artist will reinvent themselves. Ye, Rhi-Rhi and Bey are clearly true artist and have phenomenal teams that work with them to make that happen. So the statement he made was a backhanded compliment. Bey is a G. She has common sense to know that what she did with Bey day will not work over and over again…just like Rhi-Rhi knew she had to do better than Pon De Replay (or whatever the name of the song was). I love me some Rhi-Rhi and Ye too but as anyone who sees my comments I go hard for the Knowles family…lol.
Bey is a full-grown arse woman and if she wants to pop her coochie until she needs a sling and a swing to get it in with Jay that’s her business. She is an entertainer! *grabbing my knunchucks and glue concoction I made yesterday in case somebody got something to say*

Well I’m glad Kanye spoke the truth…but I still don’t think it helped Beyonce any b/c her new music sucks!!!!!
Wed, November 12, 2008 9:15 AM
My Opinion
Rihanna was smart & quick to get out of that Beyonce box they put her in earlier in her career(check her early pic’s)….Now Rihanna is free to do her and can still have room for more change if need be.
Beyonce locked her self into GOODIE GOODIE GIRL box, now when its time for a change, its hard for her to get out. So now comes Sasha Fierce and in my opinion Sasha-ego is wack. its not a big difference of course, it just gives her room to be a little wilder. But she look like a drag queen gone mad to me.
And from what free muisc I heard on Beyonce on her Myspace, Beyonce sound the same to me just with more catchy phrases.

what has rihanna contributed to the game besides fashion? cause it most certainly is not anything musically and it’s funny how rihanna has disappeared since beyonce came back. if she is all that, she ought to be able to hang right? changing the music scene or being the it girl is not releasing 8 singles and videos and barely selling 2mil, it is not being able to headline your own tour after 3 album and have to co headline with somebody on all your overseas tours even though you are apparently so popular. rihanna has not gotten one standing ovation and she’s supposed to have changed the game, what game? her musical peers like robin, neyo and justin have criticized her singing and i will get over the fact that people were texting during her performance at the BET awards. bottom line, rihanna was never and will never be on beyonce’s level. kanye and rihanna are both on def jam so i’m not surprised since def jam uses these type of tactics to generate publicity that they can’t generate on their own. well, kanye, i hope talking was worth it cause i wouldn’t be surprised if bee kicks him the ego remix. too bad for him!

With winter approaching or whenever the season changes is a big factor to my son picking up colds here and there and with colds they trigger attacks….the best way to alleviate the colds is castor oil….it definitely lessens it…..this helps with me having to go back and forth to the hospital with him

True or False?
I don’t Rihanna working half as hard as I see Beyonce doing? If you really observe all these damn posts about Beyonce..its always at her hustling to get the next part in a movie, establish a damn clothing line, help the kids vote…what in the hell has Rihanna done besides get her back blown out by Chris Brown and eat KFC ALL DAMN DAY….unless that is purely the media’s fault at just highlighting Rihanna and her adventures around the world as a “singer”…all she is is a very pretty face and nice clothe4s…beyonce has substance and discipline..ENOUGH SAID!

This was a sideways comment from Kanye. He prob didn’t mean too much shade, but to me it was a ridiculous comparison with quite the timing if you know what I mean.
So I guess it’s safe to say that “T-PAIN IS THE BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO KANYE”…Since technically he has directly jacked someone with far less talent, something I don’t believe Beyonce has done. If someone said that to him I know he would be offended in comparison of his talents to T-Pain no matter how man “hits” that person has made.
It’s pointless to even compare, Beyonce could sing all of Rihanna’s songs, and take her performances to levels that Rihanna can’t even comprehend. Rihanna could sing NONE of Beyonce’s songs. She hasn’t even had her own solo tour to even have any type of competition. I think Beyonce was always going to expand her music, and to me it was a NATURAL revolution. I believe that I Am Sasha Fierce is where Beyonce was going with DIL to B’Day. She’s just using different and newer sounds, and producers in order to blend what she has always loved and had a passion for, two sides of her music.
As for her fashion choices. This has always been a natural progression from the DIL cover art to B’day cover art there was a drastic difference to me. Just look at the two different album covers, Beyonce draped in diamonds, the other Beyonce with a Beehive and her looking in the distance. On B’day you had the Greenlight video where a certain someone jacked the shoes she had, Get Me Bodied Video inspired by Fosse just like the Single Ladies video, etc, what was the norm about those vids? I think these comparisons are getting crazy because to some it’s still remarkable how Beyonce is still be able to be at the top, no matter who comes out, no matter what. Beyonce doesn’t have to create crazy gimmicks, like let me switch my image to being a Bad rocker girl, when I was just singing reggae, and r and b inspired tunes. Nor did she put her album up against another “heavy weight competitor” just so she could sell. Beyonce has always relied on talent. If you took her production away, you took away the glamorous costumes, the band, backing track, background singers, and dancers she would still have her wonderful and amazing voice. She could walk in any label and be signed off her voice. If you took away Rihanna’s beats, writers, dancers, production, haircut, there would be barely a whisper that would come out. In the end Beyonce will always reign supreme, as herself, with her music catalouge being her biggest competition.
Next week everything will come full circle, while others are still running laps around that circle trying to see how they can compete. I guess making off the cuff statements is the best way, or releasing videos around that time. Either way Beyonce’s talent will keep her in the spotlight, keep her with the most blog hits and mentions, and at the end of the day she can say that it was her true evolution as an artist, with inspiration from Legends, and her love for her own musical growth, that kept her at the top.
I rest my case.

oh kanye dear,
don’t be gettin out of pocket when it comes to beyonce. you’ve gotten a little excited because ri ri gave you some brains. And beyonce beat you in connect four. Well bey self motivates, ri ri is not a factor in her life.
so who inspired crazy in love? certainly not ri ri in barbados still collecting coconuts. get it together kanye…. i kinda understand though, you feel she will outsell you. Which she will.

SMH Her vocals and live performances are dreadful and if she sounds the same and does the same shit on stage she did three years ago, that’s a problem. I agree with my dear Kanye (LOL), but at the same time, Bee always steps up her game once it’s time for her to release her new joints.
Everything has been handed to Beyonce too…I wouldn’t actually say she worked hard 4 shit….2 me, shes a spoiled BITCH…yes I said it…I agree with Kanye, Bey had to step up her game, she becoming irrelevant and she had 2 do something 2 come back on the scene. Especially after what she did 2 Michelle, Bey can kick rocks. How are you going to do you supposedly sister like that. She should of be helping all of them. Beys a hater, sorry all Bey stans, but its true….
Temple Chick aint playing this morning! lol…Yep, Christin you heard what she said! lol..I’m kidding. At this point in time I do prefer Rhianna over Bey. I heard her Single LAdies joint on the radio this morning and I was like oh ok another Bey song. Not saying I dont like her but her new stuff just doesnt do anything for me and folks LOVE it. Oh well..
*grabs knife and waits*
I like Rihanna also-I don’t think she is the best singer but IMO nothing wrong with that. Her songs are catchy and her style is fierce!
I agree. Bey doesnt make songs I will run and play when my heart is broken like MJB or when I’m feeling extra in love like SWV and Tamia or when I’m feeling sexy like En Vogue…Bey, IMO, is just club hits….my opinion only. I cant say that I will ever play any of her old music after the season passes…

T-PAIN IS THE BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO KANYE”…
I co-sign that I love Ye and I will buying the cd because I am a fan but I am not ready for the Roger Troutman/ T-Pain sound on every song

I like Bey, she is a great performer and a good singer…but I agree, she hasn’t made anything that I would call a classic, unless its on the radio or right when her CD drops, I really never have a ‘oh let me listen to some Beyonce’ moment.

no disrespect but can someone tell me who beyonce’s target audience is? some how i think myself as a mid 20 mature black female professional who DOESNT have to flaunt her sexuality around to get attention is not included in her who appeal market. Just curious?

Kimmy~ our quote is getting kinda lengthy. lol. That’s all I’m saying about Bey as well. I like some of her music and I respect her hustle. She is an entertainer like Prince and MJ but the primary difference is they all made classics that we go back and listen to. If she could just do that then I may be Bey Stan #18 until then I’m still on the fence with her music.

Kanye was stating his opinion which in my case was correct I think B was the most successful for a minute and Rihanna Surpased her for a period and the fact that rihanna wasnt afriad to try something different made her a trendsetter. But being honest B still got some steppin up to do if she gonna be “the hottest chick n the game”cause what shes done so far aint gon get it….as of yet the title belongs to Rhi!!!!
Wed, November 12, 2008 10:19 AM
whatev Kanye…
Wed, November 12, 2008 10:19 AM
And I will say this and only this about this post: Kanye is 100% right. This is entertainment and that is exactly how it goes, you want to keep stacking paper, you have to re-invent yourself and follow the hottest thing or else you are gone. Look at Jay for instance. Jay-Z is a legend, but are ppl checkin for his albums like that anymore? Nope. Why? Because the youngsters are following someone new: Lil Wayne. They will most def show up to a Jay concert and sell it out, but they will most def rally up for some lil Weezy because he captures them because Jay is still with his old format and will not re-invent himself. It is what it is, your time to shine will eventually be taken from someone else..and who really gives a flying fuck about Rhianna’s talent? Does ASHANTI HAVE TALENT? NO, but has she sold records and become famous? Yes. ALL THIS MUSIC BIDNESS IS ABOUT IS MAKING CATCHY SONGS AND LOOKING PRETTY. THATS IT. Sad to say it aint about substance anymore.

You would have loved it!!! Especially at Christmas-that was always my favorite time there. Do you have family there now? Do you ever visit?
Girl, I have a huge family last name same as the PM. However, it’s like we’re clickish and spread all around. Plus they from the country deep in the belly. Anyway, my older cousin was still down there w/ her kids and she was like the one that didn’t leave JA and held the fort down. So when we’d go down to visit everybody wanna stay by her at the family house. Unfortunately she passed suddenly, (Oh Jesus). It makes me so mad because she was the one I said I would send my future kids down to every Summer cuz I knew they’d be in good hands and I don’t want them to lose out ont their culture. Don’t know what I’m going to do now.
See the cousins I have left down there are younger and they on the “wha ya bring me” vibes whenever you go down….they feel money grows on tree so if I ever left my son down there he would come home naked cuz they would straight rob him and keep it for their children.
lol you are so wrong…you have to train them, my family knows better, they say I’m mean but who cares as long as they don’t ask me for shit. Don’t get me wrong, I bring stuff when I go but if you bruk dem bad they will call you every freakin day and night for things…
Wed, November 12, 2008 10:34 AM
@ Love…yup, I get that from some of my younger cousins too, I swear they think money comes easy up here! But my aunts and my friends are cool, so I won’t have to worry about that with them!
Wed, November 12, 2008 10:38 AM

@ Whoa sorry to hear about your cousin. I know what you mean though. I have aunts and cousins there and most of my high school friends are there and I definately plan to send my kids (soon as they come along) down there so they can get some of the experience, you can send your kids with mine-
Hey I’m gonna keep that in mind! I know I missed out on actually being in JA as a child and I’m a bit resentful at my mom for that, so I definitely want my kids to go (as long as I feel it’s safe)
Just sen dem on when you hav dem and u ready!
THATS IT. Sad to say it aint about substance anymore.
you hit right on the head, Beyonce was forced to step her game up, she thought all that glitter, weave, and mermaid dresses would keep her on top, but it didn’t. Times change, and even the peole on top of to change with it. I think Beyonce is one of those chicks who wants to be #1 for the rest of her life, any female who she feels is a threat she keeps her distance from.
Wed, November 12, 2008 10:48 AM
Wow..I came here an hour ago and there were 23 comments, I should have known this would blow the f up!! I don’t even believe in the concept that major artists are in competition with each other. I feel that competition is usually PROJECTED onto those artists by other people like Kanye has done here. But being that Beyonce seems to BE a competitive person (Ashanti also said this about her) and seems to have adopted her husbands need to dominate and be “the greatest” then good for her if Rihanna lit a little fire under her ass. Rihanna has proved she can ride the charts and airwaves just as good as Beyonce, if Rihanna really wanted to give Beyonce a run for her money and actively compete with her she could, she would need to up her work ethic because Bee’s got that on lock. In that sense, you get out of your career what you put into it and as hard as she works and as much as she works she deserves that ‘baddest chick’ status for now.
what has rihanna contributed to the game besides fashion? cause it most certainly is not anything musically and it’s funny how rihanna has disappeared since beyonce came back. if she is all that, she ought to be able to hang right? changing the music scene or being the it girl is not releasing 8 singles and videos and barely selling 2mil, it is not being able to headline your own tour after 3 album and have to co headline with somebody on all your overseas tours even though you are apparently so popular. rihanna has not gotten one standing ovation and she’s supposed to have changed the game, what game? her musical peers like robin, neyo and justin have criticized her singing and i will get over the fact that people were texting during her performance at the BET awards. bottom line, rihanna was never and will never be on beyonce’s level. kanye and rihanna are both on def jam so i’m not surprised since def jam uses these type of tactics to generate publicity that they can’t generate on their own. well, kanye, i hope talking was worth it cause i wouldn’t be surprised if bee kicks him the ego remix. too bad for him!
You havent seen Rihanna! I guess her working with T.I. on his new sing “live your life doesn’t ring a bell”, or the fact that she is toring currently right now doesn’t seem to amaze you. i guess you also haven’t seen the new Gucci ads. I will admit that the girl can’t sing, but she does have a “it” factor that people love about her, and yes her image is a big part of that, just like we excepted beyonce to always rock her big weaves and over the top glittery outfits on stage. B in my book was never high fashion, she mingled with top name designers and did photoshoots with high fashion magazines but it was always the same over glamed up look. Lets not even talk about beyonces music, when was the last time you heard her really sing something diffeent? single ladies sounds like that other song she released on her last album. isn’t it funny how when a little girl from the islands without much of a voice and great songs makes a southern soul girl like beyonce refine her look and put on a metal glove, yes Rihanna did influence that. The evidance already shows all over her so called Sasha Fierece image!

i think kanye should sit down and shut up… jay-z’s di*k and beyonce’s whole style are the best things to ever happen to rihoenna. she has to thank to beyonce and stop to lic*k jay’s as.s.. kanye needs to new album.. cause he dropped and he is using beyonce’s name and starting to drama.

i do agree that beyonce is jocking rhianna’s style. but i BLAME rhianna for this crap. this music beyonce is putting out is horrible. i remember A Gift From Virgo. that cd was so good. and even the videos, like the one for Me, Myself, and I….very good. she’s going backwards.

I don’t Rihanna working half as hard as I see Beyonce doing? If you really observe all these damn posts about Beyonce..its always at her hustling to get the next part in a movie, establish a damn clothing line, help the kids vote…what in the hell has Rihanna done besides get her back blown out by Chris Brown and eat KFC ALL DAMN DAY….unless that is purely the media’s fault at just highlighting Rihanna and her adventures around the world as a “singer”…all she is is a very pretty face and nice clothe4s…beyonce has substance and discipline..ENOUGH SAID!
that’s the point. rhianna doesn’t have to do anything, and she is still being noticed, and her style is still being duplicated…..
Beyonce has substance? A woman parading around in a black bikini, slapping her butt, and gyrating her pelvis does not a person with substance make.
I wonder did any of her super fans like her when she was actually making good music? now that would make for a good discussion.
she is not a hustler, she prostitutes her talents. she does whatever sells. regardless of whether or not she believes in the venture, song, idea, etc…
Wed, November 12, 2008 12:19 PM
Since reading that Seventeen Mag article with Bey about her and Jigga starting to date when she was 18. I now believe there was something between Jigga and Rihanna. You can’t tell me there wasn’t anything because of the way he looks at her. Bey knows how she got him (Amil anyone) and now she feels threatened. I bet if Rihanna was with Jigga, he would have at least 2 babies by now. Beyonce needs to take a 5 year break. (ring the alarm???)

LMAO at the long ass essays from Bey stans losing they’re got damn minds!!!
Ya’ll really don’t need to waste your time going outta your way to put Ri down just to prove Kanye wrong.
The truth speaks for itself… he was correct in his assessment.
Just look at the way Ri keeps slangin’ those number one singles, LOL. She and T.I. keep “If I Were A Boy” wishing “If It Were A Number 1 Single”, lol.
LOL!! Don’t kill me, Bey stans. This ish is hella funny, though.
Wed, November 12, 2008 1:25 PM
I like Beyonce and Rihanna and they are two different singers with different styles, but if the two of them went head to head in a singing contest Beyonce would win hands down!Bey would also win if they had a dancing contest..not taking anything away from Rihanna but I think Beyonce is the better all around performer, and it’s a shame how people try to compare them and start some drama between them, they both respect each other and they are both doing their thing and making money and that’s really all that matters..they are two hot and successful black female artists.
Wed, November 12, 2008 1:37 PM
lol dam Ye’ watch ya back cuz the stans is coming … i dont think that he meant anything bad by it … he’s right artists get comfortable then they need to step it up … the fact that rihanna was hitting numba 1 single after single meant that Bey would have to come harder than she did before its not anything bad .. and just cuz the girl dont dance dont mean she dont work hard she’s always somewhere doing some kinda performance and Bey shoved B-day down our throats just like Rihanna is with GGGB … def jam need to slow down on that
sug knight …. just go sit in a corner smh
Wed, November 12, 2008 1:53 PM
I mean Rihanna has great songs and you can’t really put her in a box, but I would never buy a ticket to see her in concert. I’ve seen her performances and they’re really lackluster she keeps getting bad reviews for her concerts.
She has the image thing on lock but if she would just step up her performance and singing game then she would be a true force to be reckoned with. However I do think she pushed Bee to reinvent her image, that’s where the whole sasha thing came from. Beyonce knows she can sing and dance circles around Rhianna but you gotta keep the public’s attention regardless of talent.
But let’s be real here say what you want about Bee, but at the end of the day I would rather see her in concert than Rhianna.
Wed, November 12, 2008 2:02 PM
Damn, it seems like people here only like Rhianna so they can dislike Beyonce.
Will you guys turn on Rhianna too once some new chick comes out with a “fresh”image???
Wed, November 12, 2008 2:07 PM
Kanye, you ain’t never lied! That is some real ish he just stated. I’m sorry the fact that RihRih’s label was trying to turn her into a lil Beyonce, and she said f*ck that and came up with her own style, made Beyonce seem boring, dull and predictable. Rihanna’s music and style always changes, while Beyonce is still rocking that blonde weave, and metallic dress that she’s been wearing for years. And everyone is hating on Rihanna’s singing, but you can’t tell me ya’ll weren’t feelin Umbrella?
Wed, November 12, 2008 2:21 PM
YOU could nothave said it better Rhianna is full of antics but no substance

KANYE IS RIGHT! IT TOOK KAYNE TO SAY IT FOR IT TO REGISTER THAT BEYONCE IS NOT THAT BITCH ANYMORE, SHE IS TRYING TO HARD.
HOW MANY SONGS OF BEYONCE’S ARE THEY REALLY PLAYING ON THE RADIO? I MEAN EVEN HER OLD SONGS? NONE. HOW MANY RIHANNA SONGS ARE STILL ON THE CHARTS AND IN HEAVY RADIO ROTATION BECAUSE PEOPLE CANT GET ENOUGH? LET ME LIST….
SOS
UMBRELLA
UNFAITHFUL
REHAB
DISTURBIA
TAKE A BOW
PLEASE DONT STOP THE MUSIC
SHUT UP AND DRIVE
RIHANNA IS YOUNG AND FRESH, PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF BEYONCE WHO THINKS HER SHIT DONT STINK. WHAT GOES UP MUST COME DOWN, AND BEYONCE WILL COME DOWN WHEN HER CD RELEASES BECAUSE ITS GARBAGE.
Wed, November 12, 2008 2:28 PM
BEYONCE CAN SING AND DANCE, THATS IT.,… SHE BRINGS NOTHING ELSE. SOMETIMES ITS NOT ABOUT BEING THE BEST, ITS ABOUT BEING YOURSELF AND BEING FREE DOING YOU AND THAT SOMETHING BEYONCE DOESNT HAVE.
BEYONCE IS INSECURE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE, SHE IS GETTING OLD IN A YOUNG INDUSTRY AND HER LOOKS ARE STARTING TO CRACK. RIHANNA IS MARKETABLE AND CAN SALE ACROSS THE WORLD. BEYONCE HAS TO WORK 10X’S HARDER BECAUSE PEOPLE ONLY REALLY LIKE HER LOOKS, SHE HAS NO SUBSTANCE, BEYONCE CANNOT HOLD A CONVERSATION WITHOUT SOUNDING 12 YRS OLD.
OKAY BEYONCE IS BEAUTIFUL AND SHE CAN SING AND DANCE…BLAH BLAH BLAH WHAT ELSE IS THERE? RIHANNA CANT SING OR DANCE BUT SHE BRINGS PERSONALITY, INDIVIDUALITY, AND BEAUTY TO WHATEVER SHE DOES. BEYONCE IS A ROBOT WHO IS BEING TOLD WHAT TO DO AND HOW TO DO IT BY HER PEOPLE AND HE HUSBAND. I FOR ONE SECOND WOULD NOT WANT TO BE BEYONCE, SHE HAS TO MUCH PRESSURE ON HER LIFE

The only thing rihanna got going for her is her STYLE and once dat punk-rock shit goes out of style want wud she be left with…NOTHING because she has no talent to back her up if anything goes wrong in her career. So she is basically on THIN ice. Beyonce has been around for 10 years…not because of her style, music….ITS BECAUSE SHE HAS PURE TALENT!!! AND CAN GO BLOW FOR BLOW WITH SUM OF THE GREATEST SINGERS N performers OF ALL TIME!!!

u said it! kanye speaking that truth. there is always someone younger, prettier, hungrier trying to get that number 1 spot. it happens all the time no matter how talented and famous u are or how rich u are. look at janet and look at ciara. now ciara may have a ways to go but she is definately not far. hell, janet can’t even sell out concerts. look at mariah. we all now how good of singer she is but her voice is not the same anymore. idk why she would allow her perfomances to lack but oh well someone will fill that void. and in comes leona lewis. she’s new but give her time. or even christina aguilera cuz i remember mariah did not like or still doesn’t like christina. why? because she’s a threat. she’s a showstopper. rihanna is it point, blank and period. whether u like her singing or not she has millions of fans who adore her. and im sure in 10 years we will be having this conversation again.

Jay’s about to get into little brother’s ass about talking wreckless about his wifey. I really don’t agree with Kanye, though. Beyonce’s music sounded like this on B’Day and that came out before Rihanna became the new “it girl”. And that only happened because of the alledged Jayonce love triangle and “Umbrella”. I’d say Beyonce and Jay wer the best things to happen to Rihanna if anything.

Beyonce is very childish, I mean yes she is talented but doesn’t she remain you of an only child wanted to be on top of everyone. THERE IS ROOM FOR EVERYONE! I mean beyonce is like diana ross (without the talent)wanting to be the top black star. Why people/The stans say beyonce coming it’s over for the rest wow no artist can’t touch beyonce.
Kanye is a smart dude even if i don’t like his cokyness so is 50 cent. They speak the truth.
Beyonce doesn’t like competion like diana ross and kanye is saying fuck that artist always have to pop off, actors too.
The stans are saying oh rihanna is not on beyonce level.
What level is beyonce on? Yes she can sing and somewhat dance.
Oh we’ll she has 10 grammys lmao since when does a grammy mea a thing. diana has none.
Jay-z is rubing off on her. And it’s not cute
Saying it’s B season. WOW
If beyonce was that chick are as she call herself bitch sideeye.
Why be on every mag cover. Talking relationship. changing her look all of a sudden.
Cause when janet, whitney were in there prime non of that happen they let the music speak for itself.
Oh beyonce you think your the hottest chick in the game hahahahahahahahahahaha
Ok stans aka birds aka chicken heads bopping to diva, single ladies hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
When lord beyonce is in her late 30’s-40’s WHAT SONG IS SHE GONNA BE SINGING. MY POINT
All her songs are trash even the ballads are ghetto anthems to the left to the left
Me i ike seeng beyonce ciara rihanna brandy monica alicia so on but no the stans are like beyonce has to be the only female artist funny cause not ony does beyonce have to worring about riri, The whitetrash britney is on that level without promoting bri is no talent but damn she must be the shit if she doesn’t have to do interviews and videogoes to # 1.
Beyonce cd I am Sasha…….Fierce is B’day leftovers with a twist.

Damn Beyonce, you really did have some time on your hands today! good for you………………..claps and sour faces all around!
WHAT SHE SAID…………………DEAD

Puuuuhhhhhlllleeeeeezzzzzeeee!!!!! You cant even compare the two! Beyonce is on a entire different (HIGHER) level than Rihanna! I love Rihanna, but let’s keep it REAL-Rihanna DOESN’T have shit on Beyonce and that’s the truth! For instance, Rihanna can sing—Beyonce can BLOW! Rihanna’s fashion came over night (by her creative stylist), Beyonce was BORN into it! “Rihanna is the best thing that happened to Beyonce”—for real? NOT! There would be no Rihanna without Beyonce! Who is running to the store to buy Rihanna’s album?—NO ONE! Who’s running to the store to buy Beyonce’s album?—EVERYONE! And since Kanye want’s to talk that stupid ish, Lil Wayne and T Pain are the best things that happened to him! AND THAT’S REAL!

Rihanna was smart & quick to get out of that Beyonce box they put her in earlier in her career(check her early pic’s)….Now Rihanna is free to do her and can still have room for more change if need be.

I will have to agree w/ Yeezy. Rih def does not sing or dance better than Bey (and I think ppl know that but just dont care), but I think when Bey took her break, thats when Rih came up & everybody started taking notice & becoming amazed by her. When u break or start slackin, if ur not careful or u dont step it up, somebody will be there to take ur spot.
As for Suge, he just needs to go away. Just STFD & STFU.

She is on tour. I wouldn’t exactly call that disappearing.
changing the music scene or being the it girl is not releasing 8 singles and videos and barely selling 2mil, it is not being able to headline your own tour after 3 album and have to co headline with somebody on all your overseas tours even though you are apparently so popular. Still sitting at the top of the charts. she has many endorsements. She is doing more than OK without selling, even if that was true.
i will get over the fact that people were texting during her performance at the BET awards. !
You mean you will NOT get over the fact? Maybe they were texting that they were excited to see Rihanna and were enjoying the performance???

o gosh take a comment a run with it!
This was actually a compliment for Beyonce. Although he threw a little salt in it with mentioning Rihanna.
Fact is Rihanna and every other female artist want to follow in Beyonce’s footsteps.
Trust and believe years from now people will be saying “she ain’t no Beyonce….bc when Bey was in her prime blah blah blah”
Do you really think everyone loved Tina, Patti, Aretha and Dina when they were doing their thing? 20+ years later you can’t mention ICON w/o mentioning one of them.
Beyonce & Rhianna can coexist……the aforementioned ladies did

No hate intended toward Rihanna at all but what exactly has she done other than have a couple catchy #1 singles and cut her hair into a bob that we were all rocking about 5 years ago. Bey headlines her own soldout worldwide tours(which by the way grossed 50 million)remarkable when no one in her age group can do that right know, sold over 7 million worldwide and this is after 10 years in the game and landed on Forbes at #4(the only female singer in her age group)but also beat the likes of Madonna,Celine dion and others who has been out forever with 80 million made in one year. She still is as successful if not more than she was during the start of her Destiny Child days so what exactly is Rihanna doing that makes Bey give a damn. And don’t give me the It Girl thing just ask Ashanti,Mya,and others who were IT girls at the beginning stages of their careers. Rihanna album dropped in the middle of 07 Bey’s in 06 so why are people making it as if they dropped around the same time and she competed with Bey and won. Bey not thinking about that girl only yall trust she not gon stop Bey shine or success because if that was the case Kanye wouldn’t be randomnly talking about her and neither would we.

I totally agree with Kanye even though I always supported DC and B but since Good Girl Gone Bad I saw where Rihrih went (where B was away)..
Here in Europe it’s definitly Rihanna won against Bee because less talent for sure but wider in the public type (white black young, less young employees CEO…). Everybody love Rihrih and her Rocky look

WOW, I really love reading the comments. I wonder if Butterpecan was on the job when she wrote that passionate discourse unearthing the flaws of Rihanna while elevating the greatness of Beyonce. At anyrate, as I have always said we need both performers in order to be truly entertained. It’s similar to more of the same or the CHANGE we all so desperately crave. What’s even more drepressing is that we only have two choices. Or at least on YBF. It makes me hungry for the 808 albulm, sad to Janet go, and the resolution that Mariah’s run has finally come to an end. Not musically, but at least to the public eye.
IMO, if the industry was solely based on people singing their pants off I think J-hud would kill them all. However, sometimes I want to dance. Sometimes I want a package deal (madonna style) and sometimes I like a good show. Honestly,so many artists need to retire or we need new producers and songwriters. No one is really innovative or exciting. The closest thing for many is Rihanna because it at least SOUNDS different. No hate, an artist can only do what they can do. But I will say this Hova still kills it. No one rides a beat with confidence like Jay. He killed it Swagger like us. So did Mr. West. So I repsect Ye and his comments, craziness and cockiness. He is talented and he earned it. if it wasn’t for him music would be so boring..yawn

that is the dumbest thing so far i heard from Kanye. Why are we comparing these 2 talented black female artist. there is room for them both. they both bring something different to the game. Black people always bringing each other down. we should be uplifting each other. people are so ignorant.
