    Seriously Plaxico Burress?

In the dumb criminal move of the weekend, star NY Giants baller Plaxico Burress shot himself in the leg at a club this weekend. Apparently the gun, which he owns, fell down his pants leg while partying, and it accidentally fired off, hitting him in the leg. He was taken to the hospital and released hours later as the wounds were not serious.

Today, police went to his home to seize the weapon and have charged him with felony weapons possession charges. When will these fools learn? Plaxico grabbed up Diddy’s lawyer from that infamous club gun shooting case involving him, J.Lo, and Shyne back in 1999. Oh, and Plaxico is turning himself in tomorrow and pleading Not Guilty. So he’s going to show up in court with a bloody bullet wound in his leg looking like 50 Cent and he’s going to act like it’s not there? Stop it.

I’m so mad @ Plax cuz he’s one of my favorite players and he’s getting in the way of his own talent right now.

He just signed a new contract about 6 weeks about for “ump-teen” million dollars and thats when he started trippin!

I don’t know what’s gotten into him but from according to NFL Network, there were other Giants players there including Antonio Pierce who justifiably berated Plax for being in possession of the gun. I wonder what security dude didn’t search him and just let him walk in!?!?!?

I do understand why he would want to be protected but he obviously isn’t trained in weapontry.

There was a Jaguars player in the beginning of the season that was shot 13 times while sitting in his truck. He lost his leg and almost died.

Dunta Robinson (#23 Houston Texans) was the victim of a home invasion in Sept ‘08 (if I’m not mistaken, Sept 22 or something), they put the gun to his head, tied him up, and robbed his home…in a so-called secure neighborhood.

Today is the 1 year anniversary of the death of Sean Taylor (Washington Redskins). He was shot during a home invasion @ his home.

Darrent Williams was murdered last year on New Years Day.

And Javon Walker was found by Vegas PD this past summer unconscious outside of a casino after being robbed and beaten.

They need security and they have enough money to pay for professional security. If they want their own weapons, at least go to a gun range and learn how to use it properly. This isn’t the area where you can afford to take shortcuts!

Actually Natasha- the idiocy that is Plaxico shot himself in the leg while removing the bullets from the gun before even entering the club… I guess the genius realized that he had to fess up that he had a gun in his possession when security was searching those entering the club. They took him to a remote location off to the side and that’s when he blasted his leg. Can we all say LOOOSER? UGH.. And then his equally brillant teammate (who was with him) Antonio Pierce decides to not only drop his injured teammate off at the hospital and leave but also takes it upon himself to ‘dispose’ of the weapon.. *shaking my head*.. I have no words for these two fools. They get what they get. But I will say GOOOO GIANTS as they contiune to steam roll the competition!! (Damn you NY Jets for looking like you are about to mess up dreams of a Subway Super Bowl!!)…

I understand your point but IMO the reality is that they provoke or incite some of their violent offenses and problems.
For the player in Jax he was apparently in a previous fight with the guy who shot him.
Not to say that anyone is deserving of a violent attack; I just think these guys need to be mindful of their behavior and realize that there are really crazy, real thugs, looking to retaliate on a player because they got showed up or embarrassed in the club. If Plaxico felt as if he needed a gun for a night out on the town, he maybe should have considered staying in.

I’m clear. Maybe you didn’t see my comment previous to this one but I said that it was stupid on his part. I’m just saying I understand why they want protection. The Jaguar player was in an altercation at another time with the guy that shot him. It was not going on at that moment. He was sitting in his truck talking to a friend.

I’m sure sometimes the players provoke people but like you said, it doesn’t justify this type of retaliation. I think what Plax did was stupid, but I understand why he felt the need to be protected. He could’ve just went about it in a different way. Thats all. I think we’re saying the same thing though.

That license expired. He never renewed it. He decided to carry a loaded weapon to a club. The ‘ol fool couldn’t dip into his bank account and pay for a bodyguard for one night or weekend, if he felt his life was in danger. Somebody should slap him two times in the back of the head.

Thats all. What is up with black people and guns? seriously? when will all this madness end? these violent niggas get some money and then they start yelling “haters, haters” and buy a shit load of guns. Why is it that black people are always the ones talking about haters, haters, haters? why only us? are we the only race who have gone through issues? I am sick of this rubbish and I am sick of carrying NIGGAS’ evil deeds on my shoulders cos this shit is too heavy for me. BLACK PEOPLE NEED TO GET THEIR SHIT TOGETHER,,,ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. THEY SHOULD LOCK HIS DUMBASS IN JAIL JUST LIKE T.I. But then again when you have money like O.J you can do anything. The rich niggas have it easy but when a young black boy from a family of crackheads steals a loaf of money, he is sentenced to 5 years in jail.

I AM SICK AND TIRED OF THIS BULL, SICK AND TIRED.

Who really cares? He did some dumb isht, but we all know he’ll get a slap on the wrist from the judge and the NFL. Diddy was involved in a shooting, his money got him off; Jay stabbed someone, his money got him off, etc. All Plaxico did was have a gun and shoot himself. He’ll get off, too. Better question is: What’s this club going to get? Why were they allowing anyone in their establishment with a weapon on their person in the first place? They need to stop giving these celebs passes and do their damn job of protecting their patrons.

THAT AIN’T WHAT HAPPEN, HE HAD A GUN WHEN HE ENTERED THE CLUB, SECIRUTY KNEW WHEN THEY CHECKED HIM, THE SECURITY LET HIM IN WITH THE GUN BUT THEN TOLD ANOTHER AND THE OTHER SECURITY CONFRONTED HIM IN THE VIP SECTION, DEMANDING THE GUN FROM HIM, UNTIL HE LEFT. PLAXICO WAS TAKING THE BULLETS OUT OF THE GUN TO HAND IT OVER (PROBABLY SO NOBODY ELSE COULD USE IT AND BLAME IT ON HIM, SMART) AND ACCIDENTLY SHOT HIM SELF IN THE THIGH.

DUH! LOL! Where you been? He shot Lance “Un” Rivera back in December of ‘99 while at a club called The Kit Kat celebrating his birthday. Some say it was over Charlie Baltimore (something both Jay and she deny), some say it was over Un bootlegging Jay’s CD, and some say Jay didn’t do it but took the blame for one of his friends. I DO know that Un said in his statement to police that Jay walked over to him, said “You broke my heart” and then stabbed him twice while Jay’s homeboys created a diversion. He only got 3 years probation for it, though. That and he paid Un an undisclosed amount of money because Un sued him for stabbing him. No one really knows the real story because no one who knows anything will talk about it (you know how street dudes are!).

Those people at Toys R’ Us didn’t kill each other over toys. Police said it was unrelated to sales at the store. From the terminology they used, it seemed like a gang/personal shooting.

Nothing about this story sounds right at all. If it’s an accidental shooting, why hide the gun or nix medical attention? I would buy the “they are targets” argument if every athlete had a story about being shot at or roughed up. You don’t hear stories about white players getting jacked and for the most part you don’t hear stories about black players getting jacked. How many times has Kobe, Lebron and Reggie Bush been shot at? By the way, Plax is 31.
