Well actually in NY we have a new law that makes it a mandatory minimum sentence of 3 1/2 years if you’re caught with an unlicensed gun & more time if it’s loaded & extra time on that depending on the type of bullets. If it’s the kind that can tear thru bullet-proof vests - you can just fuhgeddaboutit - you won’t be seeing freedom for a nice little while.
