Mel B. and her hubby Stephen and kids were spotted eating out at The Grove in Los Angeles this weekend:
Stephen took charge of baby Angel Iris and used the age old tried and tested sniff test to see what’s lurking in the baby’s diaper. And even put his hand to his nose to show how scary that mess was while the always doting mom Mel got a clean one ready.
Always fun times with the Brown-Belafontes.
And the winner of the UK’s hit American Idolesque show “X-Factor”, Alexandra Burke, was spotted on the way home after the 2008 “X-Factor” final show. Alexandra was crowned the champion after her outstanding performance with Beyonce. Beyonce also described Alexandra as: “Amazing. She’s a superstar and is a beautiful young lady.” And that was even before the final results were given on the show. Alexandra got to sing “Listen” with B, who is one of her favorite idols of all time. Chick was crying through the whole thing. Here’s the clip:

I guess I am in the minority with Kanye’s singing and auto-tune. I don’t find it that annoying. He is trying something different from his norm and I see growth in his music lyric-wise. “808’s and Heartbreak” is one of my favorite albums of this year.

OMG! That performance for “heartless” was EXCELLENT! It was so private I felt like I was reading his freakin diary. I almost wanted to turn it off because it was so personal. Art imitated life for real. It was like watching a scene from his loneliest moments. Everyone has had those before. Damn sir… That was awesome Kanye. Thanks for sharing yourself with the world… but don’t give it all away people will bleed you of all that’s real in your life.

I don’t think she is even 2 years old yet. Most kids aren’t fully potty trained (if at all) before that age.
And as far as the pacifier..I’ve seen 4 year olds with pacifers…so Angel Iris is still in the clear! LOL

i like this new woman, alexandra. funny how many of these uk chicks sing with american accents, but when they talk they have their normal british accent. i listened to an interview with a singer from london a while back (don’t remember who) and she said the reason behind it was because she grew up listening to only american singers so whenever she sings, her dialect changes to those american artists that she’s listened to all her life… i found it rather interesting

Yes and no really. They tend to do pretty well as commercial artists but until Leona came through, black people could not get a break in reality shows where it was dependent on the public because in certain ways, Britain is more racist than the US. Black folks have only been there about two or three generations and still tend to be seen very much as ‘other’, whereas at least in the States, black folks have as much a claim and a stake in the country as white folks because you helped build it, fought in all the wars etc.
Anyhoo… I remember when I lived there, my sister (who still lives there) used to be soooo mad about how a black person could never get through on X-Factor, Strictly Come Dancing… not even bloody well I’m a Celebrity!
In the 2005 X-Factor there was this chick Maria who was absolutely fantastic and got beaten out by this crappy Irish girl group the Conway Sisters.
But Leona was so absolutely compelling in 06 that it would have been rank if she did not win. And seeing the level of stardom she has accomplished I think has opened up folks more to artistes like Alexandra.
