The autopsy report details were released today about Dr. Dre’s son Andre Young, Jr. and his death 4 months ago. As suspected, no foul play was involved. But Andre did die of a heroin and morphine overdose. According to People, Young, 20, was found unresponsive by his mother, Jenita Porter, in their Woodland Hills, Calif. home on the morning of Aug. 23.

In breaking news, John Travolta’s 16 year old son Jett has died while the family was on Holiday vacation in the Bahamas. Reports state that Jett, who the Travoltas deny had Autism but actually lived with Kawasaki disease, fell and hit his head on the bathtub and suffered a seizure. He reportedly died on the scene. Sad news for the Travolta family. R.I.P.

R.I.P. to Dre’s son…maybe he was depress. I dunno.
John Travolta is one of my favorite actors of all time; I love him! “Face Off” is one of my favorite movies ever. My condolences to the Travolta family.
Fri, January 2, 2009 5:17 PM
RIP indeed!!! Why would u mix Morphine and Heroin? One is a stimulant and the other a depressant…I thinl maybe this was suicide…and why wasn’t the mother getting him help for his apparent heroin issue?
Fri, January 2, 2009 5:17 PM
My condolences goes out to both families. Burying a child, especially kids so young, has got to be heart wrenching.
Fri, January 2, 2009 5:18 PM
RIP, but sad news.
Fri, January 2, 2009 5:19 PM
As a parent the last thing you want to do is have your children pass before you do, very very sad news.

These kids hide things now-a-days so easily. He’s probably living on his own or on a seperate side of the house, who knows, but it kills me that these kids who seemingly have it “all” are depressed……
Fri, January 2, 2009 5:21 PM
I looked for reports that show Dr. Dre’s son died of a heroin and morphine overdose and didn’t find any. smdh

That just goes to show that material things are meaningless compared to really having the peace that God provides…
Fri, January 2, 2009 5:22 PM
OMG about John son I have loved him since Grease. I know he is devastated I know he love his son. I can’t imagine losing a child.
Andre I still can’t believe he passed my prayers to both families.

Fri, January 2, 2009 5:53 PM
That Travolta story is crazy; someone told me a few months ago that they weren’t caring for him the way that they should (ignoring his illness for one) and that he was probably going to die soon.
Didn’t want to believe it.
Fri, January 2, 2009 5:57 PM

Heroin and morphine…damn! RIP.
I have to find out what Kawasaki disease is…
RIP to both boys.
Fri, January 2, 2009 7:02 PM
I was just on US Weekly and they were reporting about Dr. Dre’s son’s tragic death. The pic of his son on UsMagazine.com looks like Dr. Dre almost TO THE LETTER. They have the same facial features and everything. It could be the same person, but this picture that you have up, doesn’t look like Dr. Dre at all to me. Seriously, go check out the pic over at US Weekly of Dr. Dre’s son against this pic in this post and you be the judge.

Kawasaki disease, also known as lymph node syndrome, mucocutaneous node disease, infantile polyarteritis and Kawasaki syndrome, is a poorly understood self-limited vasculitis that affects many organs, including the skin and mucous membranes, lymph nodes, blood vessel walls, and the heart. It does not seem to be contagious. It was first described in 1967 by Dr. Tomisaku Kawasaki in Japan.
By far, the highest incidence of Kawasaki disease occurs in Japan (175 per 100,000), though its incidence in the United States is increasing. Kawasaki disease is predominantly a disease of young children, with 80% of patients younger than 5 years of age.
The disease affects boys more than girls. Approximately 2000-4000 cases are identified in the United States each year.
The causative agent of Kawasaki disease is still unknown,[4] but current theories center primarily on immunological causes for the disease. Evidence increasingly points to an infectious etiology, but debate continues on whether the cause is a conventional antigenic substance or a superantigen.[5] Per a Children’s Hospital Boston / Harvard Medical school information page on the disease, “Some studies have found associations between the occurrence of Kawasaki disease and recent exposure to carpet cleaning or residence near a body of stagnant water; however, cause and effect have not been established.”

I just read about both stories on CNN. I can’t even begin to imagine what it must be like to lose a child. My prayers go out to both families.

Actually, Heroin and Morphine is from the same family. They are both pain killers and depressants. His body probably slowed down so much, he just slipped away. He probably did not feel any pain.
Fri, January 2, 2009 8:44 PM
Aww…both stories are such sad news. No parent should ever have to bury a child, thats not the order things are suppose to go in!
Fri, January 2, 2009 8:47 PM
A 20 yr old died of a heroin and morphine overdose. How in the hell did he get hooked on that shit? Anyway, may GOD bless him and his family. And may GOD bless the Travolta’s and their son as well.
Fri, January 2, 2009 10:21 PM
It’s so sad and tragic for both families.
But I did want to comment on the Travolta case because it was widely known the boy had autism but John and his wife were in denial due to their Scientologist beliefs and claimed his illness was the result of a rare syndrome. Like the poster above me said, the boy didn’t receive the care and treatment he needed because his parents wouldn’t acknowledge a problem existed.
Fri, January 2, 2009 10:22 PM
Both of these cases are so sad and I hope their families will find their strength in God and begin to heal.

I’ve worked with adults with autism for many years, and I know you can’t diagnose someone by just looking at them, but looking at the picture, the son has the “face” and they tend to walk on their tiptoes…he looks like many of the clients I worked with…I don’t know anything about Kawasaki disease and if the physical symptoms are similar.

DANG, YOU SEND YOUR KIDS TO BLACK SCHOOLS AND GOT TO WORRY ABOUT THEM GEETING SHOT, SO THEY SEND THE KIDS TO WHITE SCHOOLS AND HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THEM DOING DRUGS. IT’S A MAN DOWN SITUATION NO MATTER WHAT A PARENT DOES..
AND SAD SAD STORY ABOUT THE TRAVOLTAS. I HOPE THEY GET THROUGH IT!
Sat, January 3, 2009 4:21 PM
Sad, sad, sad,
No disrespect, but I’m wondering why Travolta’s son wasn’t on holiday vacation with them? I know families with children with severe disabilities some times need a break but wow.
Sat, January 3, 2009 4:48 PM
That’s sad news about both Dre and the Travolta’s son.
It was known that Travolta’s son was autistic and had seizures…but because the goofballs that are practicing scientologists don’t “recognize” either…I am sure that the lack of treatment could have had alot more to do with Jett’s death, then they are willing to admit to.
The lord knows, I hope I am wrong…but God might have had to step in and take that innocent child of that bad situation.
Holla!
Sat, January 3, 2009 6:46 PM
Lawd, regardless of how a child passes, as my mother always says it is not the natural order of things. She always says having seen my grandmother bury her 1st born killed her heart.. My heart goes out to both families. There children are safe with the God!!!

Reading is fundamental. He died in the Bahamas which is where his family was. Better question is where was the caregiver who found him? How does a child go into the bathroom late Thursday, but you don’t find him until the next morning? Why had no one checked on that child when it’s obvious he had physical and mental disabilities?

If they in the same family, it’s most likely he overdosed because you can’t take one medicine with one reactant and another with the same reactant. That’s this general science.I was looking on the boy’s myspace and I’m not judging, but the kids he hanged out with looked like they on some ecstasy or something.
Sun, January 4, 2009 11:11 PM
I agree with everyone who says that Jett was autistic. Even people who met him said that they were sure that he had autisim. Scientologists believe that autistic people “will” the disorder on themselves and that they are less than everyone else. How can you be part of a “religion” that thinks that way? That’s just SICK if you ask me.
And John seemed to be ashamed of Jett (IMO). When asked questions about him he would change the subject to his daughter Ella. I lost so much respect for him because of that.
Mon, January 5, 2009 12:57 AM
I can’t blame the Travoltas; everyone has a right to treat themselves and their children according to their belief system — sometimes medical treatment is far more damaging than the disease itself.
As for Andre Young, very, very sad. To lose a child so young for nothing will take the family a long time to get over. Unfortunately, morphine is the new high and people are just slipping away from it — like Corinne Bailey’s husband. Morphine cannot be mixed with anything. How he got his hands on that is the question though.
Be on the look out for the next new killer: fetanyl
