Thugs vs Real Men…interesting.
i consider a “thug” to be someone who cuts corners in life. You know the guy that’s always tryna come up on everybody else’s expense. A guy who would rather rob, steal and sell drugs than work a legal job but is the first to talk ish whenever someone doesn’t do what they do. I believe the thug’s common line is “he aint on my level”. He also doesnt like to come home at night because he is usually “hustling”. Hustling which leads to prison time that he DOES NOT mind doing because he thinks that makes him a man. Thugs usually think that the macho thug persona is cool. Although many “thugs” are smart they lack the skills that make them men. The thug may be sexy and fun at first but nothing good ever comes out from dating a thug.
Thats just my opinion. Been there and done that. Got the t-shirt and the war wounds to prove it.

1. I don’t think that if a man comes off as gay to a woman that means the woman ‘likes thugs.’ I, personally am not attracted to thugs, but I’ll say if I think a man is gay or not. Also, men with ‘gay tendencies’ at least what our society deems as gay tendencies, are not the only men that someone can get a gay vibe from. The opposite of gay is not thug. To Bella and anyone that thought I was being harsh, I was really not trying to insult anyone, but I soooo want sistas to wake up. We have been sleeping for 40 years( after the death of MLK). I do believe with the election of President-Elect Obama God is trying to wake us up. He wants us to take our dignity back, our families back and most importantly re-establish our deep love for him. We black women have allowed too much. We accept whoredom from black men like a passing fancy, we accept them exploiting us like its the order of the day, and we allow them to not look at us a wife material because we are promoting ourselves like video hoes for a brotha’s attention.
Don’t get me wrong, I have made my fair share of idiot mistakes in relationships which is why I woke up, repetented and asked God to put me on a path to what he truly desired for me in the beginning. It ain’t easy, but its better than where I was headed before.
The only way for black men or ANY man to respect us is for us to have REAL standards, self-respect and proper expectations. All this gold-digging, misdirected thinking and obsession with materialism that is constantly promoted even on this site is not what is going to help us thrive as daughters of the Almighty and meet the man that he has for us. If anything it will keep you at arm-length distance from him and from God.
