And Jamie Foxx is flipping the script on us. 100.3 The Beat Philly Radio Host Kendra G has gotten over 150 girls in the Philadelphia area to take the pledge “Abstinence is Kool” which means they have vowed to not have sex this whole entire school year. I think this is a good thing to preach to young girls. All these young ladies think about is getting pregnant, but what about disease. The number of HIV & AIDS infection in the 16-25 age group is staggering. The truth be told sometimes these girls need to hear this from a man, because many of them don’t have fathers in their lives. I think if a man were to tell a girl the reason why she should wait to have sex, it will mean more, because it kinda gives them insight into what men/boys think. I’m sure Jamie has experience since he has a daughter who is almost a teen.

I’m with that. I think preaching abstinence is wonderful, but we’ve all been a 15,16, or 17 year old girl with that “first love”/”puppy love” infatuation… We def need to have the PROTECT yourself talk just as much if not more than the don’t do it talk.

Black women sleep on Lancome. But you should try it. It’s really light and natural. I know a lot of people swear by MAC, but I’ve found it to be really heavy sometimes. Especially after you’ve tried other brands. It’s like, impossible to go back.

Yes everyone is having a baby!! Out of my group, only one has two children but the rest of us don’t. When I see people from high school, one of the first questions is “Did you have a kid yet?” I’m like no and they look at me because I am about to turn 26 and I should’ve had a baby already. I don’t knock people who have children but my ass is not ready yet!!!!!!!!

A lot of them need someone to love them and they feel a baby gives unconditional love. The other thing that I hate sooo much is when a women says, “this baby will save my relationship!!!” WTF, Are You serious (Neffe’s voice). A man does not change because you have a child for him, yeah the first couple of months is all good but trust and believe when the 3-6 month marks comes in, he is back to his old ways.

OMG, that sounds exactly like my son.. I wouldnt even bother with getting his hair cut so often, but his hair will look like Hov’s if i dont… and that is unacceptable

Autistic children have crazy energy..I remember I went to a b-day party and one of the boys was autistic..his mom started to become frustrated because everyone was not open-minded to understand what she was dealing with. She wanted to beat him!

yeah, other than a hair cut, he doesn’t do any other stuff that requires him be man-handled or anything. he is pretty laid back. he doens’t hit others and vice versa. but i don’t say much when i notice he is wolfing b/c i know the process it takes.

I am not saying I was a saint when I was young, but I mentor kids and I always tell them just don’t do it. Boys and Girls your virginity is the most precious thing that you have. I once did a demonstation with a bottle of juice I lined some kids up (about ten), and I gave the bottle of juice to the first person to have a drink of, the second person took a sip, but by the third kid they were like “no thank you” I’ll pass”. Then I tell them to imagine that the bottle of juice was their body. No one wants sloppy seconds, thirds, fourth, or fifth. I just explain it to them like that. The majority of them get it.

I think he’s the one. It’s her older son. And as far as the haircut goes, he may have been having a bad day/ moment and it was best not to give him a haircut. I remember being obsessed with sex when I was a teenager because all of my girlfriends had lost their virginity and that’s ALL they talked about. I had them in one ear, and my mother, grandmother and aunts ALL telling me a woman should save herself for marriage.
I was nineteen when I was finally allowed to go out to a party. The very first time they let me out of the house!! I lost my virginity that night.
Teaching abstinence to some children might work. I have an aunt who got married and was a virgin at 27. But the majority of teenagers ARE going to have sex. Parents need to be realistic and not only teach abstinence, but SAFETY and RESPONSIBILITY.
I’m sure Jamie Fox is all about abstinence now that he has a teenage daughter. LOL!!

Haircuts were hell. What worked for us( me and my son)is that he loves Burger King. I would only take him to BK after he gets a haircut. I explained to him that after he gets his haircut, he goes to BK for his burger, fries, milk shake (he doesn’t understand milk shake because he thinks literally, so we say ice cream), and his apple pie. Also, after doctor visits ( if he sits in the waiting area, and if he cooperates with the doctor) he gets to go to the store to pick two snacks he wants. I think the thing that we are all forgetting is Jaime is an ADULT, and to be honest these children should not be listening to his music. My son is about to be twelve and I don’t let him listen to Jamie or anyone talking about sex, there is no innocence in our children anymore.

I don’t have a problem with Jamie Foxx telling young girls to be abstinent. I think anyone who can get that message across to our young ladies, should do so. Probably now that Jamie’s own daughter is a teenager, he sees guys trying to get next to her and he knows just what kind of game dudes try to run.
I do think that safe sex should be taught as well, ’cause it’s not realistic to expect that all kids will wait. But the longer they wait, certainly the better. It’s like on the original ‘90210,’ Tori Spelling’s character was raised to wait ’till she was married, but ended up having sex with her b/f on the night of her college graduation. Not high school–but COLLEGE. Can you imagine if more girls waited until they had a degree in hand before having sex? These college hookups have just gotten so out of control though, girls gone wild for real…

Now forgive me for this, but I snickered a little bit bout this Jamie Foxx thing. I mean, what he’s doing is GREAT! But the pledge is only for the SCHOOL YEAR. So does that mean when school’s out for the summer, that these young chicks are gonna get it poppin?? Ya’ll know how the summer heat affects people…LOL

Jamie may be alot of things, but I applaud him for encouraging the kids to be abstinent. We don’t know what that man does in his private life to be discrediting him.
