You are right about not being able to help who you fall in love/like/lust or whatever with… I think my initial shock is not that Swizzy, a married man, stepped out on his marriage but that Miss Alicia keys step in on someone’s marriage! She just radiates intelligence and positivity. I think this story could’ve been about ANYONE else in hollywood and I wouldn’t have had half as hard a time believing it. But I guess its all an image :( Sad though cause i can’t even look at her the same now.

I don’t know Alicia Keys to call her a Homewrecker and all of that..I just listen to her music..Shit most of these artists do dirt so I look to none of them as Role Models and such. It does not matter if some view Alicia as being “more talented”, “more attractive”, “a woman can not force a man to cheat”, insert excuse here _________. A “Superwoman” wouldn’t be cool with sleeping with another woman’s husband because she could easily pull her own man. If Swizz’s marriage was over a long time ago in his eyes (which will probably be his excuse if he comments at all) end your marriage first and THEN move on. It would probably be best for Alicia and Swizz to offer no public comments at all and offer private apologies to Mashonda. Mashonda must really be (and rightfully so) hurt because she could have left her private affairs behind closed doors. I’m not blaming her for confirming the rumors since that is her choice but sometimes “no comment” goes a long way.

The problem is that people when they get married don’t take the vows seriously. they think that since they are in love now, that the feeling will always be there and when it starts to fade or change, then their must be something wrong and they are not longer in love. Falling in love is eas, marriage is work. I am not saying that you should stay in a marriage if that person is not treating you right or willing to work with you, but to many people give up on marriage because things are not going smoothly. I love Alicia, and maybe I am too huge of a fan but I didn’t hear Alicia’s name in that whole interview, only when the interviewer mentioned it. And Mashonda didn’t really answer the question direct. All these people talking about we don’t know what really happened so we shouldn’t judge, true but because she put her business out there here it goes. The way that interview went is she really isn’t sure why her marriage fell apart and really she is just looking for someone to blame. I feel horrible for anyone who gets cheated on but giving interviews on a radio show is not the right way to go. That is one of the reasons I respect Jennifer Aniston because she didn’t give details about her divorce even when Brad and Angelina were having 100 kids all over the place. Until I see proof i.e. pictures of them in a hotel room or kissing not just this gossip I won’t believe it. She said she saw credit cards maybe he was just traveling with Alicia to work on her new album while she was on tour. It’s a shame people make excuses for grown men. The main reason they continue to cheat, and disrespect women some bitter woman behind excusing their behavior. He knew better than anyone else that he was married, and did not honor his vows. We don’t know what he did or said for Ak to go along with him (and frankly I don’t care). They were living in seperate places for quite some time, so I don’t get the shock. That relationship was over a long time ago and I’m sure Mashonda knew it, and now just looking for anybody to blame but herself for staying for him after all the other times.

Speak girl, and I remember reading a Swizz interview in June and he said their relationship was over 10 months ago. Alicia was still making appearances with Krucial for Secret Lives of Bees back then. He also said he funded Mashonda’s video and stuff for her album, if someone cheated on you why let him pay for stuff just wait for that alimony check.

I tend to think that no matter how smart or educated Alicia is, she isn’t a mother, she isn’t a wife. She coudln’t POSSIBLY understand the pain she causes or she woudln’t have gotten herself involved. I’ve been in this exact same situation and I tell you, I don’t even want to be anywhere NEAR a married man who is trying to get with me. I know how that feels to be hurt like that. Many men are good men, many good men make mistakes, some men are straight up DOGS. I’m slightly confused! Just a few weeks ago Mashonda was on some other radio show talking about how her separation from her husband has nothing to do with Ms. Keys directly. She even talked about how her and her husband were having issues before she had the baby. And how she’s glad she’s been in the studio to help her heal. Even here she allows the hosts to assume and elaborate on her answers (a great way to avoid defamation accusations).

I’ll say this….. If I were Alicia and this wasn’t true at all I would be suing for defermation (sp) of character. Alicia does put out an image of women empowerment and solidarity and this situation is the exact opposite of that. This would ruin her “image”. So if this is not true then expect a law suit. But because we haven’t heard anythign from Alicia I will take it at truth.
Weather of not Swizz comes out publicy and says it true doesn’t matter. He admitted to his wife. I feel bad for her b/c it has to be a realy kick in the stomach for everything to be fine in your marrage one day, you just had a baby and this is supposed to be a happy time. To your husband it cheating on you.

Be real people! who made alicia keys Mother Teresa up in this world! she controld her own image to a “T” all we know is that she is all positive and does loads of charity work. Wow! If Alicia wanted to know what time it was she had enough pull to get to mashonda and get both sides of the story! women always want to get caught up in the moment and look extra stupid in the end. Mashonda didn’t know exactly what was going on, therefore being his legal wife she was betrayed! Alicia is only human people and she does make mistakes. If this hits the white blogs it’s over, and she she’ll eventually have to open up her saintly mouth and tell he side of the story. I already know her story1 “I didn’t mean to hurt anybody” “I thought the marraige was over” blah blah blah! we know how it goes. At the end of the day they are both wrong! Alicia should have been woman enough to just bounce and find a real man, while Swizz should have at least seperated from his wife. Honestly, it doesn’t matter what kind of wife Mashonda was. At the very least, a man should respect his wife. He chose to take those vows and he chose her to be his wife; so until they are divorced, he should do her the common courtesy of making sure that he, first, communicates his unhappiness with her; secondly, try to resolve it; and then, lastly, if that doesn’t work out, get the divorce.
I mean, would it really be so impossible, or wrong, for him to try those three things, then go ahead and start a new relationhip?
Last I checked, a married person is supposed to honor, cherish and obey their spouse. And they are supposed to stay faithful, during that marriage.
Yes, we can go back and forth with the whole they probably were separated thing, but being separated isn’t really the all clear sign for starting a new relationship. A separation is supposed to allow the couple time to think about if they want to continue or end the marriage. If they decide, during that separation, that there is nothing to reconcile, then go get a divorce, and then keep it pushing, because by then, you are no longer obligated to be responsible for, or connected to, your spouse.
As for Alicia being called a homewrecker, well, no, she isn’t—Swizz is. He made the choice to step outside of his relationship and begin a completely new relationship, when the current one wasn’t even finished yet.
The only thing that I’d hope for Alicia is that she’d soon understand that she is worth being with someone who doesn’t have unfinished business going on in his life.
Nevertheless, hopefully, all parties involved will come out of this entire situation better. Also, hopefully they learn to be better judges of character and to expect the best from others and themselves.
