President Barack Obama was spotted taking in the Bulls game last night in his new home of D.C.:

His hometown favorite Chicago Bulls played the Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center and the Prez was there in full effect. Sources say he sat courtside the whole time instead of in a press box, stayed the whole game until the final 4 minutes when the Bulls were 17 points behind, and kiki’d it up with fellow fans. Gotta love it.
More pics when you read the rest…

It was a boys night out as Prez O only brought along his hometown friend Marty to the game. And truckloads of security of course…

Sat, February 28, 2009 12:24 PM
My first reaction was how great it was to see the president out and about at a “regular” event.
But was I the only one who started to look at the pictures again to see if I could spot his security people? LOL
Sat, February 28, 2009 12:27 PM

I love the dap with the guy in the audience… Looks like he had a great time. I’m sure his appearance lifted the moral of the Bulls, they have better stats then the Wizards but I’ve seen bigger teams fallen (Celtics vs the Clippers this week) :humming in head… My President is black…:

Sat, February 28, 2009 12:38 PM
Yeah I was looking for his security people too. It’s nice that he’s normal but he’s too special not to be in the press box. Lol at the cheerleaders. I’m sure he didn’t let his eyes linger on them.
Sat, February 28, 2009 12:40 PM
I love my Prez. Hope he had a grand time. He deserves a lil kick back time.
Sat, February 28, 2009 12:40 PM
You know, sometimes I don’t know what to think. Doesn’t he have more important things to be doing??? Nonetheless it’s nice to see that he is down to earth. BUT shouldn’t he be volunteering somewhere or something(like he encourages everyone to do)? Being President is not a 9-5 job, its a 24/7 job for 4 years straight. This man…(I guess no one cares after the Bush admin.)
Sat, February 28, 2009 12:45 PM
He is just AMAZING!
Sat, February 28, 2009 12:46 PM
I love as my grandmother say…My President. The fact that he would sit amongst the regular folk and enjoy a baketball game says so much about him. If only the Bulls would have won that would have out the icing on the cake
Sat, February 28, 2009 12:47 PM
I can’t imagine any other president who could look so natural and at ease. This man oozes the opposite of stress.

i appreciate that he is humble enough to sit courtside but for real…you’re the president…get ur ass to the president box!!!!! it’s such a security risk to have him out there like that…there’s not enough secret service in the world to prevent a quick move by one crazy person

Thats nice and IGNORANT of you to assume that I’m with McCain, as if there is no such thing as constructive criticism. As if being black is all about going to basketball games and proving that your “down”. Ugh. And Because I am educated and KNOW how to handle my money I won’t be needing a stimulus check, Thank You. I DID vote him in so I can say something about him. I bet YOUR ass wasn’t out canvassing (if you even know what that means), promoting and volunteering when election time was here(like true Obama supporters, and not those wanting to claim him because he is HALF black). Lame…lol.

Somehow I doubt that your negative ass had anything to say when Bush spent one third of his presidency on official vacations. And it’s apparent that you have nothing better to do than to spew some pure fuckery and run. Shouldn’t YOU be doing something more productive?
Any thinking human being would know that operating at the peak level of performance that this President has been would require a little much needed downtime.

It was nice to see him just sitting there out in the open….wait a minute, he IS out in the open! There are crazies in this world, and lets remember that not everyone loves Obama. So i really hope he sits in the press box next time because in the picture it didn’t look like security was nearby at all. I want my president protected, just the thought of something happening to him turns my stomach. We love you Obama and we want you here with us for the next EIGHT years (god willing)!

Sat, February 28, 2009 2:20 PM
LOL. Why when black people get a degree or two, they have to let us all know? “I’m an educated Black person” So what? What does that mean? Its 2009 lots of us have degrees. So do I. That has nothing to do with this man going a basket ball game. Bush stayed on the golf course the whole 8 years, and nobody called that stereo typical. Why should he have to change who he is to look good to “whites” ? He likes basketball.

Right, but all people are guilty of that. It’s nothing wrong with being proud of your accomplishments but someone who is truly “educated” doesn’t have to announce it; it is present in the way they carry themselves and the way they speak.

It’s funny that people are commenting that Prez. Obama “isn’t doing a good job of not perpetuating stereotypes” (I’m paraphrasing there). Why? Because he’s at a basketball game? Maybe you missed the fact that he’s done something that is NOT stereotypically black – being elected President of the U.S.? Maybe that slipped past some folks. A lot of people (including No Wonder, it seems) are still infected with the “crabs in a bucket” mentality. I have to laugh at the folks who are constantly looking for something negative to comment on. I’m guessing that No Wonder is either a Black person still shuckin’ and jivin’ for the “highly criticl wealthy white world”, or a White person who wishes they were part of that world. Get it together.

Yes it is a 24/7 job that’s why he needs to breathe every once in a while…If that’s all he’s suppose to do then he would have to neglect everybody and everything and just be the president. That’s like saying a mother whose job is 24/7 can’t ever go out. You are the ignorant one. I am an economist and what we are in is certainly not the depression. It is a major recession, but no where close to what a depression is. If you are going to try to clown someone about being stupid, then realize you only would learn the reality of what that term means in economics not history. Even in a time of major economic crisis, people need leisure. Since you know so damn much, you would know that leisure factors into our national GDP. Did it ever dawn on you that he is leading by example not chilling. His presence at the game probably spurred spending at the venue and might encourage other people to buy tickets, thus helping out. Of course you didn’t know that; you think we are in a damn depression.

Lame…lol.
To WOW: You sound dumb as hell.

If I remember correctly, (since it wasn’t that long ago)ya boy Bush was forever “on vacation at the ranch”. I see hating is a full time job. What you haters need to remember is we didn’t get into this mess overnight and its not going to be fixed overnight. Stay on ya job, Haters!

Shut up you ignorant fools who are trying to live vicariously through Obama. I know you guys get paid wages lower than mexican immigrants. Geez go to AP U.S History and maybe you’ll learn about the crisis we are in now called the DE-PRESS-ION did you guys get that? Now after you do that you’ll understand why people are getting so upset about him just “Chillin”. His race has no matter in this but he is still not fully black if you guys forgot that so stop trying to make him fully “down”. But I have no problem with him I just want our society to realize we need to stop the BS fun and get to business!!!! STUPIDS!
Amen. I usually don’t condone feeding the “trolls”, especially since this person is probably WoW/No Wonder anyways. Another ironic thing- if you write like you didn’t graduate from elementary school, why are you calling people ignorant and stupid? I mean really…can we get a comma in one of those run on sentences?

Maybe cause we are online and not writing a dissertation? You dont have to have correct punctuation just know how to spell. Its funny how you can tell the young know-it-all’s from the mature people, the real black people from those who are frontin because there on a black site. Especially the comment about him not being all the way down because he is not all the way black. Every body that is REALLY in the black community knows that the amount of black in you is not what makes you down its how you identify yourself and relate to other black people which the President does well. Most of us know mixed people can be some of the downest people and most black people are all mixed up any way when it comes to geneology so that is the most invalid point up here next to the argument that the President can’t do anything to relax.

What was the purpose of this comment? No one (to my knowledge) attempted to personally attack you via comments before you decided to say something. If you want to express yourself, why not do it through constructive criticism. Firing out insults from behind a computer screen doesn’t make you any better than anyone else. Don’t think I’m attacking you, because I think most comments were getting a little too rude. I only commented on yours because I was sick of reading the immature ignorance plaguing the comments on this site. We are all entitled to our own opinions but there’s a certain level of respect that must be met.
Oh and everyone thinks we are all “equal” now because he is in office. Yeah right!!! All of us people of color still have to work 2 times (if not more) harder to be on top of things, and that INCLUDES Obama. No one gave a damn about Bush because he WASN’T the first black President but an addition to the list of dumb white president.
Everyone is really gonna get all defensive over some small comment. Shows how petty a lot of people are. Ignorance MUST be bliss. I never said anything bad about the president, theres just a bunch of people LOOKING for something to defend. Obviously everyone here is mediocre because they REFUSE to expect more.
Okay, I think the folks were basically saying that even the President of the United States can be like everyday people and enjoy a basketball game. I mean really, calm it down why dont you. It’s really not that serious. I’m from Chicago and what I expect is to live in a country that helps those who need it. I expect good health care for all and not worrying about jobs being lost in the next quarter. That’s what I expect.

Being President is not a 9-5 job, its a 24/7 job for 4 years straight. This man…(I guess no one cares after the Bush admin.)
..
& this is why no one voted YOU in office. and when the stimulus checks get to rolling, i hope you wont be picking up NOT A ONE OF THEM!

Cosign! I don’t see the big deal. Bill Clinton used to go to Wizards B-ball games all the time (and he was for DAMN SURE a better president the Dubya)! Anyways…
It’s cool to see him not acting brand new with the people now that he’s prez. He’s still the same guy he was. But, am I the only one mad at ol’ girl in the too little shorts shaking her ass in his face? Don’t make Chelly find you and get gangsta on you. We all know she’s from the hood and you can take a girl out the hood, but…

If I were that little boy sittin right next to Barack I would probably be sitting way to close and cheesing in his face.Like a kid in the candy store or McDonald’s. That man is way to fabulous (and sexy).
Sun, March 1, 2009 3:54 AM
Okkay, I don’t know the great debate got started over whether the president should kick it at a knicks games or stay at the oval office 24\7 but the comments are killing me lol. I guess bush stayed at the white house everyday for 8 years & that’s why he got so many great things accomplished. A ball game isn’t neglecting his duties. Now if he got jigga on us & shit tryin 2 own part of the team then we might have a problem
Sun, March 1, 2009 11:28 AM
Love President Obama- he’s great. It is not a crime for him to have some down-time. People need to calm down- relaxation is essential in a high-pressured job such as his!
Sun, March 1, 2009 12:43 PM
President Obama is such a down-to-earth and elegant man.I have so much love for him and faith in him, as my leader and as a brother-in God. He’s special~

Sun, March 1, 2009 11:46 PM
*Sigh* So much negativity, can’t we all just get along! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so let’s stop tripping. Bickering back and forth with one another is not going to change the fact that Obama is president and can do what he wants. Oh, black people can we stop calling each other ignorant!
Mon, March 2, 2009 10:08 AM
How could you not love him??!!
