Sadly enough, I’m not even surprised. Let the sh*tstorm ensue. Expecting a PTwitty response in 5…4…3…
UPDATE: Ciroc’s PR folks tell TheYBF.com the following:
This is completely inaccurate and we do not even know what company that is. We have never worked with Imperative models. Additionally, both of our TV ads (08 and 09) prominently feature beautiful brown skinned women.
Regardless of who authorized it or who knows who, this memo from Ciroc was still sent out by this agency as well as many others. And it’s still a mess.

Wed, March 25, 2009 5:18 PM
I wonder what Kim Potter has to say, oh and Chance’s mother. Diddy is such a lame.

Wed, March 25, 2009 5:21 PM
hmph moving right along diddy’s a mess
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:22 PM
Well I guess he won’t be using his Mama in any of the ads then either.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:22 PM
wow… me too
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:23 PM
wow! i cant believe we are still dealing with this type of ignorance in 09.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:23 PM
Why do the ‘lightskinned’ ones always have to state that they are “lightskinned.” You ain’t making it no better with that typical statement.
Anyway, tsk tsk to some people and their self hate issues. WOW.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:23 PM
:: rolls eyes :: Diddy is going to tell us that his mother was a dark skin woman, and so is one of his baby mothers. In fact, he may even put Cassie on the burner and call up Kim for a few photo-ops. He’ll say he regrets that this happen and that he was unaware.
Maybe I just hop up on his PR team since I already know the drill. He’ll do what it takes to save face.
he’s such a loser.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:24 PM
top 25?…so now ybf tells ppl when their comment is too short??smdh
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:24 PM
I’m trippin’ on the ’size 7 or smaller’…..
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:25 PM
I CAN SEE WHY SOME DARKER WOMEN IS SO OFFENSIVE NOW ITS LIKE THEY ARE PUT DOWN AND MADE FUN OF BY THERE OWN RACE!!
I’M WAITING FOR DIDDY TO RELEASE THE FAMOUS MY MOTHER IS DARKSKIN QUOTE
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:25 PM
Damn I love bring a Chocolate Brown Skin Bad Ass Babe!! Fuck Dicky…I mean Diddy wack ass. I hate ciroc any damn way…taste like shit. New Amsterdam goes down alot smoother, jerk! What kind of message does this send to his own daughters…ok well maybe not directly, but it’s basically setting the media world up to only focus on the beauty of light skinned women and not ALL women in general. Ol’ sorry ass wack ass diddy!
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:26 PM
It isn’t wrong.
It is what it is.
Those are the company’s preferences.
They have realized what sells and what doesn’t, sadly..it’s women who have light complexions. That sells.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:26 PM
soo sad… You think now that OUR President is BLACK … it would be OK for all shades of black to be accepted in the public eye..what a shame….
Shot out to all my DARK SKIN DIVAS!!!
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:26 PM
I’m so annoyed I couldn’t even spellcheck… But ya’ll kno I love BEING A BEAUTIFUL CHOCOLATE BROWNSKINNED WOMAN!!
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:28 PM
diddy shud be ashamed of himself..but are ya’ll really surprised??
okay, so is it okay for a dark or brownskined latina to apply??
absolutely ridiculous!!
SHAME ON YOU SEAN!!
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:29 PM
FUCK DIDDY. HOPE HIS BLACK ASS BURN IN HELL. BITCH ASS MUTHAFUCKA!!!
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:30 PM
This ain’t new! Havn’t you all noticed Beyonce and Rha have gotten lighter and lighter in their photos and videos
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:31 PM
once again diddy and whoever he is associated with keep the definition of BITCHASSNESS alive!
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:31 PM
Who even drinks Ciroc?? I’m a vodka fan and have never been tempted to try it.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:32 PM
I BET DIDDY WANTS MORE THAN LIGHT SKINNED PEOPLE TO BUY DAY 26′S ALBUM?
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:34 PM
What the hell is the big deal!! I said Diddy is wrong and that’s how i feel.. Point Blank Period.. I stated that i’m light skinned because even though i’m not darked skinned, that shit is fucked up and straight up foul! Damn ppl kills me!
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:35 PM
i was gonna buy some ciroc oh well i guess i’ll buy some nuvo
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:35 PM
Having only light-skinned, hispanic or white girls for your ciroc ad…. Now thats BITCHASSNESS!!! Diddy is a bitch anyways. Who cares.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:37 PM
SMDH @ his mom and baby mama being brown skin sistas. A damn shame.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:37 PM
While this obviously could be a diss to darker skin women, it could also be a targeted ad to a certain demographic…i.e latina magazine or something (which in and of itself sucks bec/ there are dark latinas- but they generally are viewed as black). My point is that advertising does target audiences and go for certain looks which is why u will see and ad in Ebony of a brown skin family and the same set up in a white one that has a white family. At the end of the day,
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:38 PM
HIM AND HIS MOTHER IS BLACK AS TAR
PLEASE
ALL BLACK PEOPLE NO MATTER THE SHADE ARE WORTHY AND BEAUTIFUL.
HOW WILL WE EVER EXPECT OTHER RACES TO RESPECT US WHEN WE DO DUMB SHIT LIKE THIS.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:38 PM
I actually liked Ciroc. Oh well, Grey Goose it is!
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:38 PM
Who is really surprised?
I bet everybody’s casting emails look exactly like that….
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:40 PM
oops cut myself off… at the end of the day, yes there exists colorism in it’s worst forms and it must be recognized and protested, but diddy’s unattractive self should not in anyway affect our views on beauty. Black is beautiful in all it’s shades.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:40 PM
What the hell is the big deal!! I said Diddy is wrong and that’s how i feel.. Point Blank Period.. I stated that i’m light skinned because even though i’m not darked skinned, that shit is fucked up and straight up foul! Damn ppl kills me!
^^^^So does it make your care & concern more sincere just because it’s coming from you, “a lightskinned” person??? I mean I’m just asking. I just think that information is rather irrelevant.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:43 PM
I’m mad how light-skinned African-American was last and in lowercased. Wow. It’s sad, but I am not surprised.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:45 PM
Diddy thinks he’s so smart. NOT!!! He probably requires the background women (light if you will) because he (being darker)will stand out. You aint’t slick prick!
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:45 PM
Like someone just said, it is what it is. You can be mad at Diddy all you want, but it wasn’t his call to make, Ciroc is the one who put out the casting call advertising for models. They could be targeting a certain group, who knows? What if a company who’s products target African Americans doesn an add? Their call sheet probably isn’t going to ask for blonde haired, blue eyed white models.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:45 PM
Diddy may not even know about the memo that went out. its the advertising agency who doing the production and ciroc decide what the talent looks like.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:45 PM
WOW, STILL IN 2009??…I GUESS KIM PORTER AIN’T GOIN TO BE IN THE VIDEO THEN …
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:46 PM
Definately not surprised! THis is so obvious, like look at his past Ciroc commercials and his Unforgiven (cologne) commercial… ya’ll should not be surprised I remember bringing the lack of darked-skinned women in Diddy’s commercials 2 my homegirls attention a LOOOONNNGGG time ago…
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:46 PM
Diddy and the prejudice slave mentality society that believes in light is right, brown stick around and black stay back CAN GO TO HELL!!! :(
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:46 PM
I bet he won’t drop them @ the end of the day it’s all about the dollar
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:47 PM
Well at least I know I want b able to attend. I’m a dark skinned 5′4 size wearing 12 African American.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:47 PM
Hell I should call they ass and try to attend anyway
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:48 PM
Oh shite!
Man, I don’t know where to begin! First, Diddy’s rep is going to come out and say “Mr. Combs was not aware of this posting drafted by the management agency.”
Okay, are we really surprised though? This one leaked, but there are plenty more like it. The difference is that people in Diddy’s position can insist that they have diversity and positive Black female images in these types of projects, but they don’t.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:50 PM
My point was to let Black dark skinned women know that i am a light skinned woman, However, i am a Black woman First!!!! And i think the email was straight up wrong! And as far as my care and concern being more sincere, people can take it however they want it..
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:51 PM
Man now that is some BS. Im a thick chocolate sistah. Why are people always hattin on us. Well F them them. Whatever!
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:52 PM
OMG, SINCE WE ARE ON THE SKIN COLOR SUBJECT. I AM GOING TO ASK THAT EVERYONE THAT READS THIS PRAY FOR ME.
THE POST BEFORE THIS ONE, WITH THE AKON STORY…….. I WENT TO THE TMZ WEBSITE VIA THE LINK PROVIDED, AND THE THINGS THAT THESE PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT AFRICAN AMERICANS HAS GOT ME BLOWING STEAM OUT MY EARS RIGHT NOW.
FA REAL…..PLEASE CHECK THIS OUT.
CALLING US MONKEYS, GOOD THAT “THEY WERE ROBBING EACH OTHER THIS TIME.”
BEING THAT THE PREZ IS BLK “THEY” THINK THAT THEY CAN DO WHAT “THEY” WANT
THINGS LIKE DOESN’T GENERALLY BOTHER ME THE WAY THIS HAS.
I MEAN IT IS CRUEL THINGS AFTER CRUEL THINGS…….
I WAS WONDERING WHY SO MANY WHITE PEOPLE WOULD EVEN LOOK AT BLK NEWS IF THEY DIDN’T LIKE US.
SO I AM SEEING IT AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO SAY THE THINGS THAT THEY CAN’T SAY OUT LOUD AROUND US.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:55 PM
@jasperblue23
You are so right! I don’t know why people can’t understand that big-time celebs like Diddy and Will Smith have a lot of say when it comes to their productions. What makes us think that it is a coincedence when there are no black women in white celeb’s videos and commercials.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:55 PM
Ok for those that are not educated on Marketing/Branding a product…IT’s a BUSINESS..and they use Diddy a spokesman(frontman) and he doesn’t own CIROC!! So the lame ass dark skin and light skin is a ignorant topic and they are tryin to say that they want to market to the global colors of the world. Different ethnic groups…if we just focus on having only black folks in the picture then only black folks will be protrayed or only buy CIROC… HELLO..duh…its called diversity…Educate yourself on the business..before you start making comments about OUR black race…because we sound and look pretty stupid for even thinking that DIDDY has that much power… and would be that ignorant to put up the requirements…GET A JOB and STAY OFF THE BLOGS…seriously…Don’t make a fool of yourself if you don’t know what the f*ck you are talking about!!
LA-Disco D
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:56 PM
So what!!! Sometimes casting calls are for blks only, whites only, dark skinned only. It depends on what the company wants. Hey, at least they still want some type of minorities. It could have been a casting call for whites only.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:57 PM
Is a size 7 at 5′6 healthy? I’m about 5′0-5′1 and I’m a size 7…
Well whatever sells, and his name is on it so he can do whatever he wants. I’m still drinking ciroc he didn’t say only light skin girls can drink it.
Next!
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:58 PM
Its Business! Diddy is doin exactly wht he has to do to make MOney and sad to say but in the usa and around the world there’s still a cretain type of “Look” company have to keep in order to sell , to a certain type of Consumer.
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:59 PM
EWW.. DIDDY SAT DOWN
Wed, March 25, 2009 5:59 PM
This is a disgrace. This shows how the world is so mess up , especially towards dark colored women. It is sad that other races look down on us cause the color of our skin. However, it is worst that our own race can put each other down. Other races stick together and look out for each other. Why is it harder for the black community to stick together?
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:00 PM
It probably has nothing to do with Diddy at all, but its the casting agency or the actual heads of Ciroc that’s at fault. The casting looks like its for a promotional modeling job, not a commercial. He probably won’t even be there.
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:00 PM
Is ANYONE suprised? I mean really.
Puffy is a loser
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:00 PM
@ Hottness
Thats the attitude to have…what if Rosa Parks said so what when they asked her to get up, what if Obama said so what and decided not to take campaigning seriously…no matter what anybody says this IS a form of discrimination. What does skin color determine? NOTHING. Beauty is all shades, and intil we realize AND respect that, we are digging ourselves deeper.
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:00 PM
Not really surprising. Asians didn’t any love either. *smdh*
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:03 PM
Don’t think that Diddy is the one who decided which extras were going to be casted in the ad. Let’s think rationally people!
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:09 PM
Regardless if Diddy had anything to do with it our not and it’s just ‘business’ doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s BULLSHIT.
Make excuses for the fuckery all you want, keep remind us dark skinned women that we are not marketable.
Nice.
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:10 PM
And no body can tell me that self absorbant Puffy doesn’t have say in what he does. This is big head Puffy we’re talking about, pulease.
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:11 PM
@ hotness “at least they want some minorites” that’s such an ignorant statement.
For me the issue is that there doesnt seem to be a specific reason why only lighter shades are required? What does this have to do with the brand? Have they found out that statistically, the majority of its consumers are light skinned? doubt it. This is clearly different to brands catering to a specific audience (e.g. Ebony = african american’s and elle = mainstream America).
Im sick of the excuse “it sells.” People will buy whatever you tell them! If dark skinned women were protrayed in the same way light skinned women were, attitudes would change believe me. Think about it – why do we all wear the same thing? because there is someone telling us that it’s trendy and we are ‘in’ if we do!!
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:12 PM
Oh Gosh im so sick of this.Light skinned women always being put on the petal stool but you know what, the day is soon to come when Dark Skinned women comes back in..
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:13 PM
UMMMMM..SO NOT SURPRISED…BUT UM AFTA THAT..I DONT THINK CIROC SALES WILL GO ANYWHERE..DIS SHIT IS DISGUSTING..ISNT OUR FIRST LADY DARK SKIN..AND DAT IS DA PROBLEM WITH BLACK RICH PEOPLE..DEY FORGET WHO DEY R..AND WHERE DEY COME FROM..DIDDY I NEVA LIKED HIM I SWEAR..HE IS INDEED DA DEVIL..IM REALLY SHAKIN MY HEAD..WE SELL OURSELVES OUT..DATS Y DEY DONT LIKE US..CUZ WE DONT UNITE AND LIKE OURSELVES..IM LIGHTSKIN BUT BETTA BELEEEEEVEEEE I HATE TO SEE DAT SHIT..GIMME A BOTJHA LIKE WESLEY SNIPES..BLACK IS REAL…WE CUD SIT OUT IN DA SUN FOR A WHILE..SORRAY..AND DA SUN IS SOMETHING BIG..DIDDY CUD SUCK AND COCK AND DIE
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:13 PM
WE NEED ROLE MODELS.. DIDDY NOT!!! WITH THIS TYPE OF MESSAGE AND HE’S A BLACK FATHER. i CAN’T BELIEVE THIS BUT I AINT GOT A CHOICE AND DIDDY PDIDDY PUFF DADDY OR SEAN BECAUSE YOU HAVE MONEY DON’T MEAN YOU OWN THE WORLD. THIS IS COMING FROM A FUTURE MILLIONAIRE.
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:13 PM
All i know is that Barack Obama makes me happy with his Dark Skinned Beautiful First Lady..
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:13 PM
I would rather drink a glass a spit then drink their bullshit.
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:15 PM
Meeee im so happy you touched on that too with the “first Lady” being dark skin
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:16 PM
I think this is being hyped up. Am I the only one who remembers the Satisfy You with Diddy and R.Kelly where Diddy’s main girl was a beautiful dark skinned woman? I don’t believe that between Kim, his Mom and his twin daughters, not to mention little Chance, that he would purposefully discriminate against dark skinned women.
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:17 PM
NO PROBLEM..MISSKNOWITALL….STILL SMH
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:19 PM
I agree Rob, i dont’t beleive that Diddy dislikes dark skinned woman,it’s just the principal of the Ad.. What’s wrong with a dark skinned female getting casted for the add? They forgot about the Tatyana Ali’s,Gabriell Unions,NIa Long,Ananda Lewis’,Kelly Rowlands.. the list can go on and on..
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:20 PM
I HOPE ONLY LIGHT SKINNED PPL DRINK THIS CIROC AND LETS SEE IF THEY DON’T SHUT DOWN WITHIN THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS IF IT WAS ONLY FOR THAT RACE SINCE THATS WHAT THEY WANT IN THE ADVERTISEMENTS. NO WONDER WE SEE WHITE GIRLS AND LIGHT SKINNED GIRLS IN HIS VIDEO AND PERFUME AD’S.
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:21 PM
I was gonna buy my hubby that “I am King” cologne because it actually smells pretty good but I had my doubts because I’m not a fan of his and this pretty much sealed it. I think I’ll keep my money.
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:22 PM
Again it’s Diddy he is the definition of wack.
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:24 PM
@ LA-Disco D
If they were trying to reach a global audience why didn’t they include people of different colours and races. Why were blacks, asians, indians, dark-skinned hispanics alienated? Why didn’t they just have a casting call for some skinny tall chicks and call it a day.
Clearly because light-skinned/white people have a global appeal while people of darker skin complexions or different ethnicity do not. This is like a Vogue doesn’t put blacks on the cover fiasco. People underestimate the worldwide marketing appeal of people of colour.
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:28 PM
but diddy is already known to have been like that in the past just look at his cologne commercials
Or better ye just look at how his MOTHER IS BLUE CONTACTS BLONDE WIG AND ALL
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:29 PM
“Why do the ‘lightskinned’ ones always have to state that they are “lightskinned.” You ain’t making it no better with that typical statement.
Anyway, tsk tsk to some people and their self hate issues. WOW.”
Took the words right out of my mouth!! I just have to shake my head at Diddy and these types of responses and move on… It’s his ad and product therefore he can do whatever he wants to do…
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:29 PM
It makes no sense to say they are targeting a certain demographic. Black is black, it doesn’t matter if you are light or dark skinned. They are obviosly targeting Blacks or else they would not have included African-americans of any hue.
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:30 PM
Is it me or did most the people on here miss the part that said the Management Company for Ciroc released the requirements. Don’t be mad at Diddy, he is the spokes person.
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:32 PM
Damn Punk Diddy is it like that. I’ve always admire your hard work and success i just hope this is’nt true. Its bad enough being looked down by some white folks but you too. DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:33 PM
WTF??? IS HE RETARDED? DONT HIS DUMB ASS KNOW THAT WE(THE BLACK COMMUNITY) ARE THE ONES BUYING HIS STUFF? I THOUGHT HE HAD A LIKE A CRUSH ON LATIN AND WHITE CHICKS BUT LOOK AT HIS BLACK ASS MOMMA AND HIS NOT SO YELLOW ASS BM’S. I WAS PISSED AS A CARMEL COMPLECTED SIZE 16 READING THIS BECAUSE ITS IGNORANT AS HELL. I’M FLY AS HELL AND I DONT HAVE TO BE LIGHTSKINNED TO DO IT. HE’S A DUNBASS AND I’M POURING OUT THE REST OF IT NOW…. OK I’M LYING I’LL GIVE IT TO COMPANY WHENEVER THEY COME OVER AND STICK TO MY NUVO BECAUSE AT LEAST THEY DONT CARE WHAT RAPPER IS ON THEIR POSTERS. I WAS MIXING THE TWO BUT F#*K DUMMY I MEAN DIDDY!!! NOW WHO IS THE KING BITCHASSNESS? FAG.
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:33 PM
Really who’s surprised all you have to do is Look at those commercials.
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:34 PM
LOL @ all those sticking up for Diddy saying it wasn’t his call. A managmenet company DOES NOT put out breakdowns. This comes from the company directly – whoever is handling the marketing over at Ciroc. It is still HIS company and he is still responsible.
But it’s not like ANY of this matters anyway. Dark-skinned women continue to accept second-class status from black men and get *SO HAPPY* when one is “plucked” to be in the spotlight. Never mind the fact that she is typically barbie dipped in chocolate and lacks most definable black features.
I say this type of thing is all good. Black women need to stop drinking the kool-aid and realize that someone lighter/whiter will 9 times out of 10 be the choice for even the blackest of black men (especially in America).
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:36 PM
This is boring in its predictability. Of COURSE P Diddy will accept every red cent from black people no matter what their hue BUT ‘dark-skinned’ blacks must be kept hidden. Diddy is AN IDIOT with a slave-mentality who has little business acumen as can be seen by the way he DOESN’T promote his artists. Dark skinned women should be the least of his problems- he needs to work on NOT losing any more brain cells because then he really WILL be in trouble. Diddy should keep going for the white girls, it seems the only thing he’s qualified to do. I for one will sit back and laugh while they run off with all your money. It’s terrible how this black man’s ignorance is on display for the whole world to see.
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:38 PM
I never liked Diddy anyway….this just makes it even worse. Some of these “male artist” make me sick with that color bs. His dayum mama is not light skinned. Even though she probably wishes she was with all that fake stuff she be wearing (hair & color contacts)
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:40 PM
eh light skin is the right skin when it comes to selling a product…
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:41 PM
The wiggity-wiggity-wackness continues. When will folks get a clue? All you have to do is look at the First Lady of the United States for inspiration. She is a beautiful brown-skinned woman. The ignorance is prevading rather than dissipating.
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:41 PM
I mean this isnt a surprise just look at P Diddy’s videos and U can tell what women he does and does not like
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:46 PM
Umm where in this satement you guys see P Diddy, Puffy, Puff Daddy, Sean Combs, or any of his other alias’? NO WHERE!!! Thats because Ciroc sent that memo out. You people are quick to jump on the “hate” ban wagon
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:46 PM
Man, fuck Didy and got damn Ciroq! Matter of fact , screw all the assholes who put out emails like that for their castings! I hate this so much, my blood is hot!
Why are dark skinned black females always getting treated like shit? Why do we only praise light skinned black people?
I fucking hate this, this why we got a complex STILL; it’s cuz of ish like this!
Im gonna own my own company and put all dark black femals in my ads and watch the sales go through the ROOF!
Wed, March 25, 2009 6:47 PM
Wouldnt that say Badboy and be a NY based company if it was real? FAKE… yall try extra hard to make p.diddy into the worst person, I swear there is a dark girl in the commercial I SEE EVERY night on CNN.. but whatevs, must be a slooow news day.
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:00 PM
Me am african and a very pretty dark skin girl. This comment makes me feel sad for the kids that are growing up to such stupidness.I don’t know why especially in the african american there is such shallow mentality.
We are all made by one creater and for one to judge someone and put them down becoz they are darker is just self hatre. We us a people need to love each other for all the shades that we come in.This is the same reason why white pple will never hold us up to a higher standard, becoz one we are always fighting each other in all kinda of things killings, self hatred among us and all kinda craziness.
That’s my african piece
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:00 PM
All of the famous black male stars do it. From Will Smith to Diddy. They all request light-skinned/latina women in their movies/video. When people point this out, they put the blame on directors/management.
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:08 PM
This is just another reason why I don’t like him, and he don’t have enough sence to do what Jay-Z did with Crystal champagne and not mess with Ciroc vodka if he’s people are not welcome! He sickens me.
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:10 PM
Don’t get mad now. Black women love and worship hoes like Kim Kardashian. She has no talent, famous for sucking off Ray J and you dummies become an instant fan, all the while tearing down your “sisters” who are trying to eat in the industry.
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:11 PM
Matter a fact Sean Combs can kiss my black ass, two times!
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:15 PM
There is a brown skin girl in this ad and the Ciroc commercials that are always on CNN. This is fake.

@Uh Huh
I really don’t believe that the females on this site that love and defend Kim K. are black. I think that there are a lot of “others” who troll this site. But I guess it wouldn’t surprise me if some of them were black. They are simply young and clueless!
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:16 PM
I went to the website for the casting company and they seem to specialize in light skin to medium brown female models; there may have been two dark skin female models on the site. This company claims to specialize in urban marketing and diversification of the modeling industry. In fact, within their purpose statement they claim to attempt to unlock barricaded doors within the modeling industry for all cultures, sizes, shapes, etc. I guess that does not include dark skin women! It’s really sad; why is the world so afraid to embrace our beauty? Could it be that acknowledging it would make them feel inferior? Food for thought; open your mind.
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:21 PM
@ Uh Huh, I agree. Kim K. is sooo overrated, some people act like she invented “thickness” and having a great butt. The only reason she even gets any attention is because she is NOT black and has the assets that black women have been carrying around for years.
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:22 PM
Okay, look at all of Diddy’s clothing and perfume advertisement. hello, they are all light skinned, white or latina chicks. They all look alike. I understand marketing, but the star has some say so on the production of advertisement. This is modern day slave mentality. But do not hate the light skinned girls, they can not help if they were the chosen to be the division in black people. I love all black people. That is what make us soo unique and beautiful, the fact that we come in soo many shades and sizes.
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:23 PM
These mofos managed to put in peoples head that dark skin dont sell?
Lauryn hill yall? Naomi yall?
I dont know excatly when and why black women got out of style?
It seems like back in the 90s I was seeing all types of shades of black women and they were rockin braids and stuff and now?
I mean just look… what happened?
I am a brown skinned girl I ‘ve travalled alot and trust Ive seen beautiful people EVERYWHERE .
Why is it so hard for cetain type of people to recognise different types of beauty?
Such a big mystery to me…
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:26 PM
I coz plenty of pictures of dark skinned girls that I personally know and trust they are girls most people find beautiful regardless of race?
So why cant artists and casting directors are so close minded
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:27 PM
****BOTCOTT CIROC VODKA****
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:28 PM
Gray Goose (vodka) here I come.
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:29 PM
this shit is embarrasing I dont even know what to say…
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:30 PM
I assumed that this was the memo that was posted & given
when they cast ANYTHING involving a black celebrity-just
look @ most music videos, dark ladies aren’t featured. And,
most black dudes in the game are open & honest about not
wanting a dark-skinned woman (i.e. Lil’ Wayne, Kobe Bryant,
Kanye, etc.). No surprise-this sh*t will NEVER end!
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:30 PM
@ Lois unfortunately it isn’t fake…both of my casting agencies (Ethnicity Talent and Tysum Talent) have this same casting posted on their sites.
Too bad I didn’t pass the paper bag test, so I wasn’t chosen for the casting. Fortunate for me, I know how this game is so I won’t go jump off a bridge. It’s just sad that this crap will be around for a long time, because so many entertainers only go for the LSLH girls for their videos, commercials…etc.
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:31 PM
I am mad at Diddy cause the Chocolate SISTAS such as myself are beautiful as well and so are his kids an baby momma…. Get with it Diddy cause ain’t that much Ciroc in the world to make that casting call right
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:32 PM
This is insane. Who comes up with this nonsense? The brown bag test in ‘09. This is why we are still functioning like its ‘59. We will never progress if this type of crap continues to be OK. Just silly and stupid.
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:33 PM
IM NOT SURPRISES….YEAH WE STILL DEALING WITH THIS IN 09′…..BLACK MEN HATE THEMSELVES AND THEIR WOMEN
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:34 PM
@ Please Stop
Black women, in their desperate attempt to not be seen as “jealous haters” began to embrace bi-racialness and “multi-culturalness” and allowed these ideals to infiltrate OUR beauty space. We are so afraid of black men claiming we are just “jealous” or “bitter and angry” that we now run up behind any woman who is NOT blonde and blue-eyed and claim her as a “sister” and act as if her success means that black women of all hues are going to be celebrated too.
And I am not saying that bi-racial women are not black but for Halle Berry to constantly be on lists as representing black beauty is completely ridiculous. She is a beautiful woman, but her features are very euro. This is why when we see Michelle Obama on Vouge even black women are uncomfortable with her face. They will guise it by saying she should have “smiled more” or that they “aren’t feeling the pic” but the truth is they do not like staring at a wide nose and full lips on brown skin. They would much rather see Beyonce on cover after cover after cover than see a true range of black beauty. They would rather see women with a “passable” complexion with weaves than anything else. This is why young black girls are so obsessed with Rihanna. She is a “safe” black girl. They do not support someone like Paris Bennett or even Keke Palmer. They do in “theory” but they don’t spend money on their projects.
So a lot of this is the fault of black women for being to scared to tell it like it is and put black men in their place. Only Black American women will say things like “it figures” or “no surprise” time and time again. But they still support men like Diddy via music/tv/film and keep getting crapped on. Since black women make up 65% of the money coming from the “black” community – we have a lot of power to stop this mess. But that would require not going to clubs, getting rid of cable television, ignoring color struck men of color, cutting off friendships with self-hating women, spending a lot of time together supporting each other, etc.
All things most black women will never, ever do.
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:36 PM
For the record.. I prefer dark skinned women. They treat me better than light skinned women. So subconsciously I guess, thats why I am more attracted to pretty dark skinned women? Light skinned women I have dated play alot of games, and think there so hot and I have more competition from other men, so keeping them is alot more harder. I am light skinned myself, and maybe darker skinned women want me becasue they want light skinned (fillipino/black) babies?.. oppps I am blabbering :S
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:40 PM
jus tryna b devil’s advocate, but what if he is planning his next ciroc ad to feature only darkskinned women? i cant b mad jus yet till i find out. i kno Diddy can be a lil on the shallow side and he usually looks at what will make him money before he evaluates what is right, so i dont even know why we acting surprised
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:40 PM
Diddy…YO MOMA!!!
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:43 PM
n tia looks mad different.. cute looks for both of the Mowry sistas
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:46 PM
@ hollywood blackout
I feel what you are saying.
It pisses me off but I noticed it too I could give soooooooo many examples when I had a friend or a relative that calling any female on Tv or in mags that was not biracial or really light skinned including Michelle Obama Ugly.
They are same black women that complain about BM dating outside their races.
You cant convince people that black is beautiful if you dont believe it yourself it’s so sad.
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:47 PM
We cannot ignore it because it has been around for years. We all know where it came from slavery. All the first supposedly “beautiful” sisters on T.V. have been light and even to this day ligher skinned actors get paid more but is only true for women as I know it. It is not a coincedence that a lot of firsts were done by lighter skinned blacks Barack is an example of that. We all know a dark skinned nappy head refused to sit at the back of the bus before Rosa did and she got her a$$ beat, however Rosa was lighter skinned and belonged to the NAACP I can go on and name famous black greats or first and most were light because peopel were more acceptable of them. Be real we all know in this world THE CLOSER TO WHITE YOU ARE THE MORE PRIVELEDGES!!!!It’s sad cause even regular black folk (diddy is a perfect example) treat light skinned better but hey it come from somewhere we HAVE TO CHANGE IT!
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:52 PM
Look people this has been going on for decades now, and it is quite sad. Sometimes I often wonder that if I wasn’t a butterscotch and caramel color, would I get so much attention from our men and all men. Black men love me because of my complexion, naturally curly/wavy hair, small nose, big eyes, and my little waist with the Beyonce curves. I’ve once been called a Brazilian Black Barbie because men love my skin tone. Some have even told me that they dated me because of it. Yes people, this has been going on for years and years and the only way to stop this from happening to the next generation is to educate our own children. With the proper education about all black people, this would not continue to happen. I love Diddy! Please don’t fault this man for this promo especially when it is CIROC’s advertising company. Lets all just apprecaite each other’s beauty and stop judging. Peace and love to everyone!
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:53 PM
OOOOOOMMMMMMGGGGG! HAS IT EVER OCCURED TO ANYBODY WHO LEFT ONE OF THESE STUPID COMMENTS, THAT THE REASON P.DIDDY REQUESTED WHITE, HISPANIC, OR ONLY LIGHTSKINNED AFRICAN-AMERICAN GIRLS IS NOT BECAUSE HE DON’T LIKE DARKSKIN GIRLS OR THAT LIGHT SKIN GIRLS IS WHAT SELLS. THE REASON THAT HE CHOOSE TO REQUEST THESE PARTICULAR GIRLS IS BECAUSE THE MAIN POINT BEHIND THE COMMERCIAL IS TO PROMOTE HIM AND THE DRINK. P.DIDDY IS DARKSKIN IF HE WERE TO HAVE CHOOSIN ALL DARKSKIN GIRLS HE WOULD BLEND IN WITH THEM AND YOUR FOCUS WOULD BE SWAYED, BAD MARKETING MOVE! ITS FOR ADVERTISEMENT HISPANICS, WHITE, AND LIGHTSKIN AFRICAN-AMERCIANS ALL LOOK ALIKE WHICH MEANS WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE COMMERCIAL YOU WILL FOCUS ON HIM. DID YOU DUMBASSES FORGET THAT KIM PORTER IS DARKSKIN AS WELL AS DWOODS AND DAWN SO CLEARLY HIM BEING BIAS TO DARKSKIN GIRLS IS NOT THE ISSUE.
Wed, March 25, 2009 7:57 PM
Well you cant White people dictate to us how we should look or act just like slavery and civil rights somebody gottta do smin and make it stop.
Do these women who bleach their skin know how nasty they look?
Do men like Kanye(mutts comments) ,Diddy or whatever know how laughable they are coz we’ve all seen their moms?
Its just embarrassing
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:04 PM
a mess, but not surprising…diddy is more than a spokesperson, btw, so if he had really wanted darker skinned women to be cast he could’ve exerted his power ya know.
i don’t support his ass any damn ways in music, liquor or clothing so he can gtfo.
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:06 PM
Well another one bites the dust. That’s just one more ignorant brother to add to the list of, “I’m not gonna support you or your shit!” list. This is so sad and ironic, today at work I sat cringing as a co-worker spoke about being sad when her son’s baby hair grew and she discovered he had “bad hair.” What the hell is bad hair. The whole good hair bad hair complex is another one that eats at my skin just as much as the light skin dark skin bullcrap. Not only was she discussing this ignorant mess, but was sharing it with another white woman. WHEN WILL IT END. Black people, we have got to do better, we have got to start loving ourselves.
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:06 PM
–How is this Puff’s fault? Yeah he’s an ass, but he just endorses Ciroc he’s not in charge of advertising.
-==It’s not really suprising to me. I’d assume most advertisers prefer to use white, latina or light skinned black models. How many darkskin women do you see in advertisements outside of Benetton ads?
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:08 PM
Shut the fuck up with the dark skin dont sell shit…
all black Italian vogue ?
michelle obama vogue?
naomie campbell being one of the biggest topmodels?
lauryn hill’s success back in the day?
So people are just too hot to get unnoticed.
And there are more of these type of women out there.
That theory is what racist white people and stupid blacks with slave mentality would like people to believe to justify their actions?
Has MJ sold more records when his skin color changed??? He was laughed at by EVERYONE
You you value yourself and project yourself in apositive light guess how people will percieve you?
So fuck those retarded casting directors and their black puppets who allow them!
I can find a red hair woman just as beautiful as korean women or a sudanese women beauty is everywhere.
Its 09 no place for backwards people
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:11 PM
As a dark-skinned black woman I can’t express how offended I am. No one is saying the all the models should be dark but to outright exclude a certain segment of the population because their skin is darker is so offensive. I believe that the reason why the model casting was limited to white, hispanic, and light is because the agency feels that those women’s skin tones will blend in because a dark skinned black women will stand out and I guess the only dark person they want in the ad is Diddy. Diddy should be ashamed of himself. He has a lot of clout and I wonder if he would approve. It is 2009 and us dark skinned women are still being discriminated against. How sad, tragic and embarassing.
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:13 PM
Please says:
^^^^So does it make your care & concern more sincere just because it’s coming from you, “a lightskinned” person??? I mean I’m just asking. I just think that information is rather irrelevant.
_______________________
I think you need to chillax and stop getting so defensive! She is also offended even though she is lightskinned. why are you attacking her? Where is the unity?
Are you giving her an atitude because she is light skinned? Dont let that ad fcuk your head up because you sound like your getting mad at the wrong person
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:18 PM
What an absolute idiot. I live in Australia, and am so disgusted by this. Yes most marketers will often target one particular niche, but professional marketers know how to do this skillfully. WITHOUT excluding, or undermining potential markets. WTF is Ciroc neways?? never tried it, NEVER will… especially after this!
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:22 PM
What the hell is the big deal!! I said Diddy is wrong and that’s how i feel.. Point Blank Period.. I stated that i’m light skinned because even though i’m not darked skinned, that shit is fucked up and straight up foul! Damn ppl kills me!
^^^^So does it make your care & concern more sincere just because it’s coming from you, “a lightskinned” person??? I mean I’m just asking. I just think that information is rather irrelevant.
…and yet you say nothing to all the comments about “shout outs to all the brownskinned sistas.” Isn’t that info also irrelevant?!?!
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:27 PM
@PinkGirl: You must be a crackbaby. Ghetto logic at its best.
Who cares about P. ShittyDick. He should have been honest with himself and everyone else and just drop the “wo-” part of “woman.” We know he’s gay.
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:27 PM
@please : I think the point she was trying to make was that she understands the prejudice even tho she does not experience it because of her shade…. that’s all
NEWAYS Diddy is definitely an Uncle Ruckus for supporting this crap… (if you didn’t watch the Boondocks you should have!)
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:28 PM
Diddy chose the models for his Sean/Jean ad campaign personally. And all of the male models are light-skinned with curly hair like his step-son Quincy. He will never marry Kim Porter and I believe like a lot of black males who grow up with single mothers, Diddy does not want women who remind him of his dark-skinned mother. He may have children with them constantly, but he won’t marry Kim. His twins are dark-skinned. The ad company stated their preference but Diddy has the power to state his as well and tell the casting agent that he wanted to see dark skinned women in the ads, but he didn’t. He is all about the money. The woman next door to me is dark-skinned and she now has a white boyfriend because the so-called brothas treated her so bad. These black rich people are all about the money and could care less about the feelings of regular black people.
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:28 PM
THIS IS THE STUPID SHIT, THAT HAVE DARK SKIN WOMAN BLEACHING THEIR SKIN BECAUSE THEIR OWN RACE TREAT THEM AS UGLY AND UNWANTED, DIDDY IS AN IGNORANT ASS. I CAN’T BELIEVE EVEN IN TODAY SOCIETY PEOPLE STILL HAVE THESE NEGATIVE VIEWS OF BEAUTY. IF YOUR OWN PEOPLE TREAT US LIKE GARBAGE, HOW THEY EXPECT OTHER PEOPLE TO TREAT US.
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:34 PM
If you went on the “mainstream” blogs and looked at the racially-charged comments posted after the whole Chris Brown/Rihanna fiasco you would understand how the mainstream really sees us. They could care less if we’re dark or light.
We all just ni@@ers in their eyes. Chirihanna did not get a pass because they are light. Black is black. Let’s end this color-struck mess.
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:37 PM
As a dark woman I know that it does not help for us to get offended, defensive, angry and exhausted time after time, when this happens time after time. That is why our best hope is in education and being exposed to a variety of men. My dark complexioned daughters(2) are at Michigan State studying Biology and they both want to be doctors. I have taught them to never settle for some ghetto hoodrat and for men who mistreat them. Black men think that dark women are so desperate they will settle for anything and any kind of abuse. Remember when that song came out by that ignorant Rapper called, I’m In Love With A Stripper? And the dark Rapper kept ignoring his dark skin girlfriend in favor of the light skinned stripper? Dark women don’t get mad get smart. Get yourselves together and vow never to be a Baby Mama for no one. My oldest daughter is now dating a white exchange student from England and he treats her like gold.
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:40 PM
This preference for lighter skin is prevalent the world over. In India they run commercials on prime time television encouraging dark skinned Indian women to bleach their skin. In Asia lighter skin is prized the same in Latin America.
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:45 PM
Why are dark skinned folks getting upset over not being included in the promo ho request? Seriously…you all should be praising Jesus you won’t see your kind walking around in some skimpy outfit selling liquor.
Pass that trash on to the white, Latina and light skinned girls.
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:48 PM
Wowzers….where do I even start? This bush bunny has some nerve, as if white, hispanic or light is right, but dark beauties aren’t? Newsflash B*tch, we match everything, and we “dark beauties” are every man’s fantasy, even if they don’t know it! Not to say anything is wrong with the others, but this is the exact mentality that keeps us divided. Diddy the dummy is sending the wrong message not only to two of his son’s, but his daughters as well. (How bout’ stop making babies and marry one of the many baby’s mothers). He, sadly like Babyface has never appreciated his color, or respected African American womens that is why Kim will never be his wife, if they do marry, he will NOT be faithful. This is sick! Thank you Mr. President…..I’d rather have Madame Mitchelle (a dark beauty) representing me and the United States, than have some white, hispanic or light African “women” shaking their asses or getting drunk in a video/commercial. I never supported diddy the dummy and I won’t start now!
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:52 PM
Well I just emailed the damn company:

I get what you’re saying but…here is the thing, most of us “dark beauties” appreciate “choice” but to exclude on the basis of complexion is appalling and reprehensible. He is perpetuating hate, division and exclusion, essentially discriminating. He has two dark daughters for goodness sake! But perhaps you are right…save us “dark beauties” from being exploited, you know what…carry on diddy the dummy…dark beauties continue to be the envy of ALL mankind!
Wed, March 25, 2009 8:59 PM
Who owns the Imperative Talent Management Company of Atlanta Georgia? I will bet you a winning lottery ticket that black males own it. Biggie Smalls, that fat, ugly , nasty, bastard (may he rest in peace) warped Lil’ Kim’s mind when he told her he didn’t want to have dark-skinned babies with her and he chose Faith Evans because she was light skinned. When the movie Slum Dog Millionaire came out, a boy from Sri Lankan asked me to go to see it with him but I turned him down. Never again! next time a male from any race ask me out, my response will definitely be a positive one.
Wed, March 25, 2009 9:03 PM
I don’t think Obama would have been elected if he looked like Seal. I don’t think that people who looked like Diddy would have voted for him. Diddy was all for Clinton at first anyway. Rich black people can be our worst enemy that’s why I don’t call out white folks when they are racist anymore when dark blacks are just as bad on so many levels.
Wed, March 25, 2009 9:03 PM
Girl you better take to that Sri LAnkan Guy Their ssoooooo cute and plus black man aint been cutting it for me
Wed, March 25, 2009 9:05 PM
You know it’s funny. When white people marry black people, i.e. Hedi Klum, Kim K, Our president’s mother, Lenny kravitz’s father, Slash’s father, George Lucas the director of Star Wars(engaged); they always go for the dark-skinned black people.
Wed, March 25, 2009 9:06 PM
Have any of ever noticed how darked skin men date white women or other women of different race besides black
Wed, March 25, 2009 9:09 PM
dark skin men do this because they dont want dark skin babies sad but true
Wed, March 25, 2009 9:12 PM
Diddy is just a plain idiot. He was nothing until Big, he was nothing after Big and this nonsense of wanting “lighter” women is a play to the White audience that he thinks will spend money on his crappy drink. He will soon realize just how quickly Black people can bankrupt a stupid product. Send the article far and wide-to every Black organization you can think of. Maybe Diddy will stop with the “White” parties when he starts losing that big money.
Wed, March 25, 2009 9:18 PM
WOW, I’M SURPRISED THIS IS JUST NOW COMING OUT. A MONTH AGO, DIDDY AND JAMIE FOX HAD A PARTY TOGETHER AND THEY ONLY ALLOWED LIGHT SKIN WOMEN INTO THE VIP…………NO LIE. SO FOR ALL YOU DARKER SKIN FEMALES OUT THERE WHO STAN FOR DIDDY OR JAMIE…………..HE DOESN’T LIKE YOU…………..HE DOES NOT THINK YOU ARE DESIRABLE…………..HE THINKS YOU ARE LESSER THAN………………………SO WHY SUPPORT THEM??????? WHY SUPPORT THEM????????
Wed, March 25, 2009 9:22 PM
Dear YBF
I love your site, and I tell everyone about it. But posting these statements, only infuriates darker women. The only people offended are dark-skinned women. It’s not really celebrity news. It’s kind of random…

BULLSHYT! HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THE SAME “REQUIREMENTS” BEING POSTED WITH 2 DIFFRENT TALENT AGENCIES?
AND PAST AD’S ABSOLUTELY HAVE NOT FEATURED DARK SKINNED AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN. THEY LOOK JUST LIKE THE ONES ABOVE WITH LIGHT SKINNED, LONG HAIRED WOMEN.
THIS IS A HALF-ASSED ATTEMPT AT A COVER-UP. I AM NOT FALLING FOR IT!

Wow. Obama is in office and nothing has changed. This is why I don’t deal with ghetto ass black people anymore. My Hispanic man loves my brown skin btw.
Wed, March 25, 2009 9:38 PM
Did anyone notice the size requirement? I guess no big girls either…Damn this is sad on so many levels
Wed, March 25, 2009 9:42 PM
A black guy told me that he doesn’t date dark-skin women because they tend to go fat quick and when they do they look like mammies. He thinks that fat and black is worst than fat and white or fat and brown because of the old stereotype images I guess. I”m not fat and I watch my weight and I don’t get infuriated by this kind of thing anymore. I keep myself looking and dressing well. I speak well and I will never have babies by fools in the ghetto who won’t support their kids. Young Berg, Diddy, all these men raised in fatherless homes really do not like women who resemble their mothers, I truly believe that. But I watch documentaries about foreign countries and their socities and it is true that the closer you are to western beauty in the east, the more you are desired.
Wed, March 25, 2009 9:46 PM
Big girls are hated and considered unattractive and that’s the bottom line with so many men today. Fat rolls do not look good in a bikini or a tight, short dress. Too many dark-skinned women are overweight, don’t exercise and don’t care what they eat then they complain when men find them unattractive. The only men they can get are the uneducated stupid ones in the hood. Julia Hudson is a prime example. On television shows they only show fat black women to laugh at and we need to boycott this ugly image.
Wed, March 25, 2009 9:50 PM
Black skinned women don’t take care of their bodies. They don’t care about themselves enough. Lose the fat, wear makeup, and don’t talk all angry and stuff. Stop bragging about being a strong woman all that time because it makes you seem hard and angry.
Wed, March 25, 2009 10:00 PM
I have been dealing with this light skin dark skin shit my whole life….. my sister who is only a year older is light skin and has always received better treatment … i personally think i am much prettier, nicer and smarter yet it seems like she will always be able to get ahead a little easier than me…..
All this bullshit about Puffy not having any control is pure stupidity …. and to all those who have responded saying this is normal in marketing… No it is not!!! I have been in the Marketing field for over ten years and i currently work for the top Multi-media marketing company in the world (if u know sooo much about marketing then i guess u know who i work for) there is no such thing as a light skin demographic that is absurd. Now yes if this campaign was being targeting to a specific audience(age group, sex,or race) than it would be appropriate to use models of that group for people to feel connected and associate themselves with this product. That is not the case here … what i get from it is they want anything besides dark skin women. Which is more than ignorant it is sad …shame on Diddy . The black women is the biggest consumer in america we spend almost 8 billion a year in this country i wish we could really start to unite and address these issues cuz money talks…. one thing is for sure if Puffy doesnt think i am acceptable to be in his ad because i am his complexion than i will spend my money else where… One day when i own my own multi-millionaire dollar company Dark skin women will be at the forefront for sure …we are so fierce don’t forget it!!!
Wed, March 25, 2009 10:01 PM
Not surprised at all. Puffy ain’t nothing but a misguided sorry ass negro like a lot of brothas and sistas out here. It’s sad and it’s emabarrasing. :-(
Wed, March 25, 2009 10:04 PM
His dark crispy ass only want light skin black girls, and hispanic chicks. Well im darkskin, black and hispanic and i look better than ugly ass cassie. Ohh and his baby mama is dark skin so wats up with him.

I know I’ve seen women of all shades, sizes, and colors in the ads — those black and white runs that were running around the end of last year had all kinds of ppl in it, dark-skinned and light-skinned. Has this supposed casting call been verified?? I feel like they’re making a big deal out of nothing.
Wed, March 25, 2009 10:38 PM
Word to your whole post Dark by Nature!! I totally agree on black women uniting and sending a message that this type of exclusion based on color should not be accepted especially in 2009. I can understand wanting to market to different demographics, but there is nothing wrong with including a dark skinned woman in the ad.
Wed, March 25, 2009 10:43 PM
Calyx,
You know, there was a time when advertisers used that excuse to not hire minorities at all. If the company’s excuse was “white women are what sells” or “blond, tall white men are what sells,” would you just go along with that assertion? Maybe paleness is what you look for when you see ads, but that doesn’t appeal to everybody. I would NEVER spend my money buying products from any company that excludes people who look like me from its advertising. Thank goodness, most people — regardless of their skin tone — have enough common sense to agree with me.
Wed, March 25, 2009 10:46 PM
They have had dark-skinned women in their ads, tho…I know I’ve seen them, like those black and white ones they did awhile back.
Wed, March 25, 2009 10:53 PM
F Diddy. I’m a short thick brownie and I’m proud!
Wed, March 25, 2009 10:54 PM
that ciroq mess doesn’t even taste good to me…Belve all day! lol
Wed, March 25, 2009 10:59 PM
I wasn’t surprised by the ad. I have a subscription to Vanity Fair magazine and Sean Combs buys advertisement there for his colgone. I have never ever seen a swarthy sister in any of his ads. But Sean Combs and his hatred of Black is not surprising- but some of the ignorant stupid shyt I have heard up in here is far worse than surprising. Quit telling your self that Sean Combs is “unaware” of what is going on, he is aware and in agreement. For all of you shyt colored folks (as my grandmother used to say) making the ridiculous comments about how darker women are too hard or will get too fat or mammified looking, I ask you to look at Iman, or Beverly Johnson, or Gladys Knight or even Grace Jones. Thank God that I am comfortable in my own beautiful Black skin. . .the blacker the berry. . .the sweeter the juice. . .
Wed, March 25, 2009 11:05 PM
Attn: Hattie McDaniels- Are you of a fair complexion? You post as if you are but you use the name Hattie McDaniels, who was a big fat hard Black woman. That doesn’t make sense.
Wed, March 25, 2009 11:16 PM
If the ad called for heavy-set dark-skinned women only, every one would be jumping for joy. 1st of all, we don’t even know whether diddy had anything to do with the casting, he’s not that dumb,(didnt he do a whole fashion show with only black models for his I AM KING sean john collection?) second, if this is a real document, they could very well already have some dark skinned models and they could be looking for diversity to flush things out, they have multiple castings for ads. Not to mention, it says promo girls needed which does not necessarily mean a commercial, probably live-club appearances. and third, this is advertising, its all about reaching their target demographics and they have diffrent formulas for different ads. Ever notice all the black folks in the ads durring the NAACP or Soul train awards? advertisers target specific audiences depending on what has been proven to sell to them. maybe its a ciroc ad for a latin market or an ad to air durring a program with out many black viewers.
Wed, March 25, 2009 11:43 PM
Every single one of the casting agents should be fired and should never work again. The person who wrote that should never work again. Diddy will never have my support in any of future endeavors and never will I be seen drinking CIROC. I’m far to classy for that anyways.
Wed, March 25, 2009 11:52 PM
BUMP DIDDY AND THAT MODELING AGENCY DARK IS SEXY! AND OH SO BEAUTIFUL!
Wed, March 25, 2009 11:56 PM
That’s stupid!!
Thu, March 26, 2009 12:02 AM
diddy’s trash point blank period… & there ain’t shit about a light skin black woman that makes her better then a black woman of darker complexion at the end of the day we all black.
Thu, March 26, 2009 12:24 AM
Well i wrote in Diddys blog on youtube since hes there constantly and heres what i wrote:
That promo for ciroc commercial with you just wanting lightskinned african american women is just wrong. Now I may not live up to your requiring size 7 or smaller or even being the height but Im proud to be a darkskinned female. Black is beautiful but its men like you who dont realize that!!! Oh yes and dont come with a Yung Bert statement either about how your mom is darkskinned whatever BS cause it aint working. You lost fans over this!!
Thu, March 26, 2009 12:41 AM
Everybody should just calm the heck down because Diddy has been like this from the get go. You all should have already to notice to the way he is and Biggie smalls was the same way just look at Lil Kim
Thu, March 26, 2009 12:47 AM
When Dark-skinned women stop continuing to accept second-class status from black men and stand up then things will change but just talking isn’t going to help AT ALL THERE NEEDS TO BE ACTION!!
Thu, March 26, 2009 12:58 AM
I hate to make strong generalizations, but since olivia and others have made them about dark-skinned women, I will add my 2 cents. Most of my friends who are dark skinned are work out freaks. I believe that they put in extra hours at the gym and watch their figures with such vigor because they feel that they have to work harder to be considered attractive to some black men. (Episode of Girlfriends dealt with this) Again generalizations… But I live in New Orleans and a lot of creole women end up being big as houses. I think that sometimes lighter skinned women think that they are at an advantage and don’t have to watch their weight… So dark women are NOT synonymous with big women.
Thu, March 26, 2009 1:05 AM
LAST TIME I CHECK light skinned african american WAS DEFINITELY NOT A RACE!!
Thu, March 26, 2009 1:20 AM
that memo must be fake. I mean kim porter’s dark-skinned, so’s his mom. i just think somebody out there is trying to make diddy and ciroc look bad. looks like it might be working, unfortunately
Thu, March 26, 2009 1:37 AM
this is sooooo fake. ciroc ain’t that stupid. plus that memo looks like a damn photoshop
Thu, March 26, 2009 2:20 AM
in the words of “busta rhymes”, “ya,ya,yaaah, yaah, ya…”
Thu, March 26, 2009 3:30 AM
EXCUSE ME, I AM A DARK SKINNED FEMALE AND I’M A PLUS SIZE CHICK AND LET ME SAY I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MYSELF!!!
Thu, March 26, 2009 4:19 AM
I believe this story is real. Pdiddy is a self-loathing fool, and I do not care that his mother and baby momma are dark-skinned. I had a man (I have a caramel complexion) who was favored Tyrese (and was black as him), tell me he can’t stand black women. Mind you, he was involved with a white woman. A couple of months later, after continuously fishing to see if I was seeing anyone, confessed he wanted to be with me. Of course, I turned him down. I did not need a self-hating man as my boyfriend. I totally agree with a previous poster, all of us to make these type of men accountable and call them out on their bullshyt.
I am sending this information to every black friend I have, and ask them to do the same. Diddy is going to feel this where it hurts, in his pocket.
Thu, March 26, 2009 6:35 AM
From light to dark and everything inbetween there is a certain way of doing business and this is not one of them, especially in these modern times.
Thu, March 26, 2009 7:22 AM
I dont care about the update, have you seen diddys ads for sean jean ?
Thu, March 26, 2009 8:19 AM
Here we go again!! This is 2009 and we are still dealing with color issues that have plagued us for centuries. Yet, here we have a company refusing to represent us in their marketing ads. So, what do we do as a people to let them KNOW that money is GREEN? Do not BUY anything that Dumb a-s Diddy and his cohorts make!!!Hit their dumb asses up in their pockets. This is 2009, dammit and mind you… We are in a recession!! Since when do companies post discriminatory advertisements describing the type of consumers they want to buy their shyt in a recession? Well.. My response. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT BUY CHIROC AND ANY OTHER PDIDDY CRAP or ANY OTHER COMPANY THAT REFUSES TO ADVERTISE OUR BEAUTIFUL BROWN SISTAS IN THEIR ADS. It is as simple as that. African Americans are the biggest consumers in America! Let’s use our economic clout and show Dumb ass Diddy and his cohorts that we will NOT buy his sh_t and any other company that discriminates against our people. Just like Jay-Z did when the company that makes Cristal champagne said they do not want African Americans buying their Champagne. Jay put a halt to having that champagne sold in his nightclub! That is economic clout! If we do not like how companies are keeping us out of their markets, DON’T BUY THEIR PRODUCTS! I don’t care how much you like rocking LV, or TH, Or whatever. If they don’t feauture us in their advertisements, videos, or whatever. If you don’t like how our women are being exploited, stop buying those CD’s, stop downloading their music, Stop spending your hard earned dollars own that Sh_T.
Remember your history. Back in the 1960’s when Dr. King and Rev. Abernathy, and many from the Civil Rights Movement boycotted the bus companies? Since those companies refused to let african americans sit in the front and had to give up our seats to a white person for the same damn seat that we paid for to ride the bus. What did the Civil Rights teach us? BOYCOTT!!! Stop complaining and let’s do something about this crap! Let’s write that company and tell them. If you want us to buy your Sh-t, damn it, you must put our beautiful, dark women in your advertisements. And, If Diddy and many of our own discriminatory Black Men refuse to feature Women of All Colors in their ads, videos, movies, etc. Then YOU REFUSE to buy their Sh_t PERIOD!
Come on People!! Let’s wake the F_ck up!!! Do not let these companies dictate to us… WE DICTATE TO THEM!!!
Now, let’s do the damn thing and write these letters and BOYCOTT these companies for damn sakes. We have tremendous economic clout. Let’s USE IT!!!
Thu, March 26, 2009 8:27 AM
So if you’re a tall dark chick, short white chick or a size 8 hispanic chick….don’t bother.
Thu, March 26, 2009 8:32 AM

Black skinned women don’t take care of their bodies. They don’t care about themselves enough. Lose the fat, wear makeup, and don’t talk all angry and stuff. Stop bragging about being a strong woman all that time because it makes you seem hard and angry.

YOU SOUND LIKE A DAMN FOOL HOW OLD ARE YOU?

MALIBU COCONUT RUM IS MY DRINK ANYWAY

PUFF IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG, THIS GOES FOR A MAJORITY OF THE VIDEOS, COMMERCIALS AND PRINT PUBLICATIONS. THIS IS CLEAR, UNDENIABLE EVIDENCE OF WHAT WE ALREADY KNEW THE MINDSTATE OF MAINSTREAM MEDIA IS.
THE QUESTION IS WHEN AND WHERE DOES IT END.
LATER THIS STORY WILL BE OVERSHADOWED BY WHO IS WEARING WHAT OR WHOS DATING WHO IN THE MEDIA.
PUFF MAY RELEASE A STATEMENT OR IGNORE IT COMPLETELY.
BUT WHEN DO WE AS A PEOPLE DECIDE THAT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH?
HOPEFULLY THIS IS ENOUGH TO SPARK A REVOLUTION AND INSPIRE A CHANGE IN BOTH THE PERCEPTIONS OF WHAT BEAUTY REALLY IS AND IN WHAT WE WILL AND WILL NOT TOLERATE.
Thu, March 26, 2009 9:20 AM
IT IS 2009 AND WE HAVE A BLACK FAMILY REPRESENTING A COUNTRY THAT HISTORICALLY ENSLAVED, OPPRESSED, AND BRUTALLY MAIMED BLACK PEOPLE.
IT IS TIME TO KILL THE COLOR COMPLEX.
Thu, March 26, 2009 9:30 AM
I see and hear so many fat to obese loud hard yelling dark skinned women it’s embarrassing. Stop calling yourself thick because you are fat and you look bad. You complain about how good educated men are not attracted to you when you weight 200 to 300 pounds. Fat and dark is a ugly combination just look at Hattie McDaniel, no sex attraction at all. Just watch muary on television with all the ignorant dark fat loud women screaming about their baby daddys. Dark fat women make themselves look horrible.
Thu, March 26, 2009 9:41 AM
and another thing which is so ridiculous. why does being dark skin is always associated with fat, ugly and ridiculous. i hope ppl saying that don’t mean it. cause damn. SMDH
Thu, March 26, 2009 9:54 AM
Dark skin women need to stop weeping and moaning and being so pitiful. Dark skin men have always been attracted to their opposites. And white women love dark skin men, so what? I’m dark skinned and I like light skinned men and white guys. I like the contrast of our skin against each other.
Thu, March 26, 2009 9:59 AM
I for one don’t believe Puff had anything to do with that. First of all, he doesn’t involve himself with the day to day tasks like sending out e-mails regarding $35 per hour “models” for commercials.
Anyway, I bet Puff don’t discriminate…on the basis of skin color, race, OR GENDER. He’s Equal Opportunity all the way.
Thu, March 26, 2009 10:50 AM
No diffrent than the ads we see in magazines that cater to black people. Hell look at the models used in Diddy’s Ad. Michelle Obama dark skin—nah I think she’s a brown skin woman. Weslesy Snipes thats dark skin, Bernie Mac…dark skin. It just sucks that the definiton of black gets lighter and lighter everyday.
And alot of Casting ads specify exactly what they are looking for ad. I rcved one from Bebe awhile back and they wanted fair skin models. Its not fair but that is businesss and then you wonder why people hunger for success but not eating….because they too black—ITS WRONG.
Then u got black muthafukkas with they black ass mommies and daddies saying how light skin people are better looking. Really muthafukkas and worse off all it always some dum dark skin man saying this….tell us how u really feel about yourself.
And when did dark skin/light skin become something more than just being black???? Wow we come so far and we still nowhere and blacks/Africans/African Americans are not the only dark skin race their is. U got dark latinos, East Indians, and Asians.
Thu, March 26, 2009 11:12 AM
This is so phony.
First of all, what kind of professional production company sends out a casting call stating “JUNIORS” sizes in the requirements? Size 7??
Sounds like a 2-bit scam operation if you ask me. Nothing that Diddy or Ciroc would ever be associated with.
Thu, March 26, 2009 11:48 AM
Diddy, yung berg, lil kim and Bobby V. Need to look in the damn mirror!! All this self haltered is just pathetic!
Thu, March 26, 2009 11:51 AM
They shouldn’t even be able to celebrate black history month! OR anything African American associated. Because clearly they associate them self with being anything but black! Stupid RAIST MuthaF******!!!!! IM PISSED!!!! F*** Sean John and everything he associates with!
Thu, March 26, 2009 12:00 PM
I was about it let Diddy have it until I read the update. Because there nothing light skinned about Diddy. he’s about a shade away from akon.
Thu, March 26, 2009 12:08 PM
UPDATE: Ciroc’s PR folks tell TheYBF.com the following:

BULLSH!T I DON’T BEIVE THIS STORY. LAST YEAR DIDDY USED ONLY ONLY BLACK MODELS FOR HIS FASHION SHOW IN NY. IT WAS EVEN ON MTV AND HE FILPED OUT ON ONE OF HIS ASSISTANTS WHO TOLD HIM IT WOULD BE A BAD IDEA JUST TO USE ONLY BLACK MODELS. I DON’T BUY THIS STORY ONE BIT BECAUSE THATS NOT LIKE HIM,. IF THIS STORY IS TRUE I THINK HE DIDN’T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT. ITS LIKE MUSICAL VIDOES ARTIST DON’T PICK THE GIRLS THEY HIRE TALENT MANGEMENTS COMPANY TO DO IT AND WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY IN WHICH IT’S ACCEPTED ONLY A CERTAIN LOOK IS BEAUTIFUL, AND ITS A SHAME TO SEE THE SELF HATRED AND EMBRASSING WHEN YOU HAVE BLACK CHICKS PERMING THEIR HAIR WHICH IN THE LONG RUN CHEMICALS LEAVE THEM BALD, THEN THEY HAVE TO TURN TO WEAVES, DYING THEIR HAIR BLOND(GOD WHY?) SKIN BLEACHING ETC. BASCIALLY LOOKIN UN-NATURAL AND FOOLISH. THEN THEY WONDER WHY BLACK MEN DON’T WANT THEM. IF YOU DO TAKE PRIDE IN WHO U ARE WHO IS GOING TO ACCEPT YOU. WE WERE NOT MADE LIKE THAT. AND WHO THE HELL SAID “THAT” WAS BEAUTIFUL ANYWAY I AM BLACK AND PROUD WITH SO CALLED NAPPY NATURAL HAIR AND ALL. BUT I STILL DON’T THINK DIDDY DID THIS HE MIGHT BE ALOT OF THINGS BUT THIS AINT HIM
Thu, March 26, 2009 1:51 PM
LOL TO THE COMMENT ABOUT A REVOLUTION. WHY DO YOU THINK THEY SHUT DOWN THE WHOLE BLACK POWER AND BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL MOVEMENT OF THE 60′S THIS BECAUSE THE “MAN” WANNA KEEP YOU DOWN ASHAMED OF WHO U ARE, HAVE YOU WANTING TO MANIPULATE YOURSELF TO LOOK LIKE HIM, SO HE CAN STILL HAVE THE CHAINS ON YOU. THIS AINT ABOUT WHITE HATRED IT IS ABOUT MY PEOPLE TALKING PRIDE IN WHO THEY ARE AND HOW YOU WERE CREATED WE ARE BEAUTIFUL JUST THE WAY WE ARE, OUR KINKY HAIR, BLACK TO LIGHT SKIN TONES, BIG LIPS ETC. STOP WALKING AROUND WITH THEIR TRIED WEAVES AND WIGS ITS JUST NASTY AND SO NOT ATRACTIVE. TAKE PRIDE IN WHO U ARE. BLACK POWER BITC*S 1
RANT ENED*
Thu, March 26, 2009 2:19 PM
I agree w/ SHUTUP…ummm….yall are dumb as hell if yall believe this! Diddy has always had beautiful BROWN sistas in ALL of his projects (videos, groups, commercials, fashion shows, ads, etc). And Kim Porter is a beautiful BROWN sista. Stop perpetuatin BULL and congratulate the brother for being one of the few that DIDN’T sellout.
Kudos to diddy!! F the BS!!
Thu, March 26, 2009 2:26 PM
@MZMETHOD
@SHUTUP
I DISAGREE, ALL I EVER SEE IS LIGHT SKINNED MODELS.
I AM KING–NO DARK SKINNED MODELS
UNFORGIVABLE WOMAN—NO DARK SKINNED MODELS
CIROC AD’S—-NO DARK SKINNED MODELS
SO WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?
Thu, March 26, 2009 8:29 PM
I am a model. Brown skin, black hair, hazel eyes, 5′9 130 lbs size measurements 36 25 36. I wear my natural hair and often get passed up for non black or light skin models. I wish it were not so. I heard I would have better opportunities if I tried modeling in the UK. The US is still to hung up on skin color.
Thu, March 26, 2009 9:32 PM
Are we shocked because dark-skinned women were excluded from the casting or are we shocked because they were stupid enough to put this in the advertisement? We know there is still a color complex in the black community. Young Berg and Neyo were just dumb enough to say it out loud, many blacks say or think it. We can’t complain about not being considered beautiful by “mainstream” America, when we don’t consider ourselves beautiful. Companies who market to black people will continue to market mostly light-skinned women or other women of other races, because they know many Blacks consider them the most attractive. Black people are the ones who use the term “pretty to be black”, “good hair” and “bad hair”. Black people are the ones who tell their children to get out of the sun before they get too black. Black people call each other burnt, burple, crispy, etc. Blacks call each other nappy-headed hoes, so why the outrage when other races say it. If I was the marketing exec for Ciroc, I would not have to consult with Diddy to know what kind of women he was looking for. Look at all his ads, there is maybe, one token brown woman. For the people who say lighter people sell and are more marketable, it is only that way because WE make it that way. If black people like Diddy, with decision-making power, decided to use more brown/dark-skinned women in advertisements, music videos, movies, etc., you bet we would become more marketable (not saying women should aspire to be video “vixens” or sell liquor). They choose not to use brown/dark-skinned women and continue to accept and perpetuate the stereotype that lighter is more attractive and WE accept it. Unfortunately, many people were raised by music videos and the television in general. Their role models are athletes, rappers and movie stars. A majority of Black men in Hollywood, actors, musicians, athletes date and marry light-skinned, mixed race, White, etc. No wonder many black men and boys find lighter/whiter women more desirable. When black stars are with a brown-skinned woman, WE pick her apart. I’ve heard people say Pauletta is too “plain” or not pretty enough for Denzel. How many people talked about Tameka’s looks. I suspect if Pauletta and Tameka were light-skinned with the same features, people would not be as hard on their looks. Pretty is pretty and ugly is ugly, no matter what shade. We need to love and accept ourselves first.
Thu, March 26, 2009 11:36 PM
First off, Virgil you spoke to a lot of truth as well as did many of the previous comments I have read.
I think due the ugliness of this situation folks are rushing to cast stones at Diddy’s personal character and culpability, for one reason. It is easy to make Diddy the bad guy. But think about it, isnt it very unlikely that he was responsible for any contents of this email. He does retain 50% of Ciroc’s profits so his responsibility for the image of the company cannot be disregarded. However, I think this is a issue a lot bigger than Diddy or Ciroc. This is the bigger issue, a phenomenon based primarily on colonialism, it has encapsulated and altered the psyche of minority societies globally. Eurocentric values and in this specific instance, standards of beauty are the gold standard. Hence the phrase, “If you are white you all right, if youre brown come around, if your black get back” This is said not to villify Caucasions in any way. Colonized and imperialized ethnic groups including those of African, East Indian and Indigenous American descent, self image has been sabatoged. Think about the Indian caste system (created as a result of Arayan nomadic invasion and infusion,), the Latin American social heirachy structure(deeply influenced by family i.e. Spanish blood equating prominence vs indeginous indian blood equating the opposite)and slavery in the U.S. that has created a master/slave social and class stratification that still reverberates today. We have to love and embrace our black, brown and yellow selves, we are truly beautiful. When cant expect to be accepted and respected by others if we don’t accept and respect ourselves.

Willie Lynch Put it all in to place hundreds of years ago…Read it for yourselves
GENTLEMAN:
I greet you here on the bank of the James River in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and twelve. First I shall thank you, the Gentlemen of the Colony of Virginia, for bringing me here. I am here to help you solve some of your problems with slaves. Your invitation reached me on my modest plantation in the West Indies where I have experimented with some of the newest and still the oldest methods for control of slaves. Ancient Rome would envy us if my program is implemented. As our boat sailed south on the James River, named for our illustrious King James, whose bible we cherish, I saw enough to know that your program is not unique. While Rome used cords of wood as crosses for standing human bodies along the old highways in great numbers, you are here using the tree and the rope on occasion.
I caught the whiff of a dead slave hanging from a tree a couple of miles back. You are not only losing valuable stock by hangings, you are having uprisings, slaves are running away, your crops are sometimes left in the fields too long for maximum profit, you suffer occasional fires, your animals are killed, gentlemen…you know what your problems are; I do not need to elaborate. I am not here to enumerate your problems, I am here to introduce you to a method of solving them.
In my bag here, I have a fool-proof method for controlling your black slaves. I guarantee everyone of you that if installed correctly it will control the slaves for at least 300 years. My method is simple, any member of your family or any overseer can use it.
I have outlined a number of differences among the slaves, and I take these differences and make them bigger. I use fear, distrust, and envy for control purposes. These methods have worked on my modest plantation in the West Indies, and it will work throughout the South. Take this simple little test of differences and think about them. On the top of my list is “Age”, but it is there because it only starts with an “A”; the second is “Color” or shade; there is intelligence, size, sex, size of plantations, attitude of owners, whether the slaves live in the valley, on a hill, East, West, North, South, have fine or coarse hair, or is tall or short. Now that you have a list of differences, I shall give you an outline of action–but before that, I shall assure you that distrust is stronger than trust, and envy is stronger than adulation, respect, or admiration.
The Black Slave, after receiving this indoctrination, shall carry on and will become self refueling and self generating for hundreds of years, maybe thousands.
Don’t forget, you must pitch the old Black vs. the young Black male, and the young Black male against the old Black male. You must use the dark skinned slaves vs the light skinned slaves, and the light skinned slaves vs. the dark skinned slaves. You must use the female vs. the male, and the male vs. the female. You must also have your servants and overseers distrust all Blacks, but it is necessary that your slaves trust and depend on us. They must love, respect, and trust only us.
Gentlemen, these kits are your keys to control, use them. Have your wives and children use them. Never miss opportunity. My plan is guaranteed, and the good thing about this plan is that if used intensely for one year, the slaves themselves will remain perpetually distrustful.
Fri, March 27, 2009 11:01 AM
it kills me when these black a$$ brothers only want to demand light skinned girls. this wasn’t an error, they simply got busted. since the majority of ciroc’s customers are predominately black, then we have the power to bring them to their knees.
Wow, doesn’t that kind of power feel good?

This probably has very little to do with Diddy. Ciroc needs to watch who they get to do their in-town promo hiring. This advertisement looks very amateur-ish.
Sounds like an ad to walk around the club offering free Circo drinks from 12-3 in the morning…

i don’t understand why everyone is knocking diddy and ciroc. they said they don’t even know the model agency that put this out. it might just as well be a total fabrication. besides, even if this is real then diddy had nothing to do with it, it would have been ciroc’s marketing people. check out some ciroc ads and you’ll see plenty of beautiful black women. people, do some homework before you go off on someone like this!

Well…..I Won’t be buying DAY26 CD or even Diddy’s upcoming CD and I definitely won’t watch Making the Band either. Women of color are mostly head of the household and we do have a say what we buy. Diddy’s about making the dollars….hurts his pockets maybe he’ll see the light of day!
I think Michelle Obama is going to change the way the world looks at women of color. I won’t be buying anything pertaining to Diddy ever again…..I done.

If in fact Diddy P had in say on this type of ad, he should be ashamed to be a black man in America. What rock did he crawl from under? Ciroc is probably going to his head. I am proud to be beautiful and blessed to representing dark-skinned women all over the world. Besides the compensation pay is not enough for me to belittle my standards for 3 mins. for Ciroc commerical or DUMB DIDDY’S ASS. Let the light-skinned, latino’s or who ever else is stupid enough to answer the ad can have it. Good Luck with that bull.

White people don’t even know what Ciroc is, why he trying to put them in his ads?

I am through with anything to do with P.Diddy. It is a shame he did not get the bullet that killed Tupac.

Proud Mrs. Richardson, you’re so right…why get mad – get smart. Black men are fast fading and hate the fact they came from a Black woman’s body. They will never garner the respect they so desperately crave using P Shiddy’s methods. He also wants to send the same message to his very sons and other Black men who’ve apparently bought into this mindset hook, line and sinker. Everyone laughs at their buffoonery and they do absolutely nothing to uplift the race which is fine by whites and nonBlacks as long as he glorifies and exalts them. I despise P Shiddy and am spreading the word on this issue. Please do a search for Pearl Jr’s article on this abomination. She nails his azz to the cross.

This is just another way GOD uses to bless Black women (and anyone) to set them up for victory. This topic is just a whole lot of nonsense, but this isn’t the end result… No one can love me better than GOD can love me, or better than I can love myself. We as Black women (and humans period) need to know that. There will always be ignorance in the world, you just have to make sure it’s not you! Don’t believe the hype… GOD LOVES YOU! AND YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL IN HIS EYES! (Know this!) These circumstances don’t define who we are as Beautiful Black women or as humans! (Thanking GOD for my bright future NOW!)

Truth is most people prefer lighterskinned blacks to darkerskinned ones.
I dont see that changing anytime soon. Not seeing people shouldnt be angry but its just one of those things that cant be changed really.
Its like telling white boys not to like big boobs and blonde hair..aint gonna happen, thats their preference mostly.
With blacks and hispanics they like tanned and lighskinned women with long hair..
Never gonna change…
Im more concerned with police brutality and employment and housing discrimination, breh.

Michelle Obama isnt darkskinned btw, shes not even dark brown. She’s just a regurlar brown person..no one on the block is gonna reffer to her as a dark skinned lady if she was a regurlar person.
Thats ridicolous.I like how people always mention Tatiana ALi (who’s Panamanian and not even american)…she’s brown.
Nia Long(bajan as well) brown..
Halle Berry and Tyra..none of these women are darkskinned.
lol some of you women are really dellisunioal, they are all brown maybe not light but they are far from dark.Plus all women mentioned clearly have some white blood in them.

You whinny, fucking creatures make me sick. You know yourselves that the only decent looking black girls are the light skinned ones, who are obviously mixed with white somewhere in their ancestory. Those are also the ones that every brother-man on the planet would choose to screw if they were given a choice. Black may be beautiful, but White is devine, live with it.
