However, given the current climate of the economic situation…some might say that it is in bad taste…dare I say uncool/taky to talk/gloat about excessive wealth. I saw this a few weeks ago where a billionaire’s son went on television talking about the current climate. And he said there is a trend of curtesy if you will to those who are really struggling in this financial situation. The well off aren’t flaunting their wealth because it is considered bad taste. Now they want to look “regular”. The $7K+ Hermes bag or any designer oversized bag is considered to be gaudy. Hey this is the current trend for now….big difference from a year ago right? Hey one thing I know about the US…we forget easily. When things begin to get better, you will see the designer glasses, oversized designer bags, and designer 10K shoes come back in force. This person is my “learned something new” for today. I find the attacking comments from women about this woman very disturbing. I worked for Forbes Magazine and there are plenty of wealthy business people, socialites, and charitable donors who fly completely under the radar of mainstream media and that certainly does not mean they are fake. Some people prefer not to have gossip or half-truths written about them so they handle their day to day lives without drama or scandal and choose to stay out the way of the press.
Why attack her for her style of dress or her make-up? If it’s not to your liking fine, but some of these comments are truly disturbing and show very limited thinking.

Wow this post is really interesting and causing a heated debate. I don’t think that I have ever read a post in which I felt such a huge bias toward the individual. I think you hit the nail on the head – there was SO much focus on how much everything she’s wearing costs that I think it really turned off a lot of the YBFers. I started my career at Deloitte in the Private Client Group in the 90s and after getting an MBA at Chicago, I became a private banker at the JPMorgan Private Bank, which you ought to recognize, since it has been one of the Private Banks of choice to the world’s wealthy for over 100 years. I had NEVER heard of this lady until today. I thought since I left the industry to be a professor that I was out of touch. I called four different people who are Private Bankers (at Goldman, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, and UBS) and NONE of them knew who she was either. It is their job to know who the billionaires are. While their are PLENTY wealthy people that fly under the radar of the public, you ought to know for a FACT that the accountants and bankers who cover wealthy people don’t let anything get by them. If you know so much, why don’t you go ask the partner in charge of your office if they know her.

Then when you sell the item to a joe schmo you can tell them “so and so” owns this item and it is bought and sold on the spot. The shoes are horrible minus the bottoms which resembles alligator texture or something, but the leather is not suppose to look cheap like that for an item costing 8k . Okay… just did some research… and umm… all I’ve been able to find are claims BY Taysha HERSELF in interviews (none with any really respectable magazines or media) that she is uber-succesful and that she’s a millionaire. No proof as of yet… No working website?!? I find it funny because Forbes can find the oldest Indian no-name billionaire on the planet, but couldn’t find this chick? I would think Oprah and others would have hopped all over her story… I researched the Rena Yip shoes as well… no mention in any couture magazines (Vogue, Bazaar, Elle, etc.)… just a few mentions on a few small blogs stating it’s a black family owned company.
Let me just say that as a black woman, I am EXTREMELY proud of ANY other succesful black woman who is able to pave her own way in the financial game and create an empire. I LOOK for these women so I can show my future daughters and my little sisters what we’re capable of. If she is the “rumored” sole heir to an international holding company, then she already comes from money. Not to knock her hustle but it is not like she came up from nothing. It is easy to make these major moves when you have an unlimited flow of cash to help fund your plans. Anyway I think the major problem here (as said before) is how Natasha presented Taysha. She should have focused more on the accomplishments and less on the fashion update. I think you would have seen a much different response from people.

Something is fishy here… all of Taysha Smith Valez’s stories seem contrived. Even if she just inherited the money, it should show where it came from. Who are her parents/family etc. If she is self made- it looks like it is possibly a scam done by posturing. On a serious note, this could be drug money laundering. This explains why she is so successful, she comes from money and is able to get start up costs, not to mention that she already has her wealthy client base, this is why she was able to make a fortune so quickly, whereas someone who did not have access to money or wealthy clients, it would have taken them years to build this kind of wealth and empire. WOW… I don’t even have the time to go through all the responses to this post but… You must agree that some of you are hating on the young lady, is based on envy. You don’t hear about her because most of her business is global & internet based. And she chooses not to be seen in the spot light because that is not the type of promotion she wants for her corporation.
In the world of business there is always something out there that people will purchase. I indirectly know a girl that sold her used panties on the net. Yep I said used, she was able to buy a luxury condo out of it. So I personally believe this young lady could be as wealthy as they say.
It’s up to you the business owner to provide a product or service that suits your target demographic, and that’s what she did. Who cares if she comes from $ already the point is this girl was able to get some rich middle aged woman to purchase a lip stick and mascara set for $$14 million. If that’s not the ultimate sales person then I don’t know who is….

I just cannot help but respond to that stupid comment. If anyone were to look at her poorly put together, sorry excuses for websites, you would see the copyright information on the bottom is from 2009, meaning she just put them up recently. Further, Tasha’s earlier post said that she went to the site for her clothing store, which i couldn’t even find a listing for, but she said on the blog about her that she bought clothing from her vintage boutique all the time. This is clearly her sad attempt to get people to buy her bedazzled mascara and lipstick product, which seem to be the only two cosmetics that are offered by her company. If you notice, on every site that has been mentioned regarding her company, it has been considered either a sole proprietorship, i.e. one employee, or an llc, which would once again mean that she has 50 employees or less. Either way, you cannot run an international makeup conglomerate with less than 50 employees. Further, in order to be valued at such a large amount of money, her company would have to be valued at an even larger amount. Her company apparently can’t be valued, because it doesn’t exist. For those of us who know nothing of business, a simple example: Facebook, valued at 10 billion dollars. Founder of facebook, networth valued at 1.2 billion dollars (by the way, only person between the ages of 20-30 on forbes 400 richest people in the US list, and he was ranked 321). Nuff said. PS: if her name and company aren’t real, I am pretty sure that her hair isn’t either.

I just wrote to a friend that writes for Forbes and actually authored the 2009 Youngest Billionaires List himself. I laid out all of the major concerns and questions I saw here, and also asked why she wasn’t featured in his list if she is in fact a billionaire. Even if she’s “approaching the status” he would know. It’s his job to keep an eye on these things. Maybe once he writes back and tells me she’s worth far less, Natasha will issue a retraction. Oh yeah, since all of this is fake…why is she REALLY taking some people’s money for things that she isn’t selling and has anyone sued her over it?

Natasha- I’m concerned about this. She’s a billionaire, right? Can you please put us up on her charitable contributions? Oprah’s are numerous and endless… but I’m concerned as to why we have NEVER heard of this woman giving ANY charitable contributions to any organizations. I already know you’re going to say “she’s given them anonymously”. She’s a GHOST. Non-existant. And FYI: there’s a group of people who WILL NOT STOP until the truth is told about this chick… and you are clearly getting caught up in the mix for not retracting any statements or addressing the discrepencies and lies. I didn’t think you would want YBF’s credibility damaged so badly… but apparently you don’t care and are willing to lose readers along with respect and credibility for Taysha Smith. I refuse to add the Valez or de Ames… Taysha… if you’re reading this… I know you… the REAL you, LOL! All I’m waiting for is the “Summer Jam screen”… You really thought nobody would step up? LOL!!!!

She’s actually not taking money for products strangely enough. Just went to a “website” to attempt to purchase cosmetics by “Krista” who is actually just Taysha using another name for another “Business”. Well in order to even get to the products, you have to PAY for access to the website (which isn’t illegal). You have to pay for all access to all of her “websites” and “products”. Then when you try to order, you get an error message saying the product is unavailable according to a friend of mine on Twitter that signed up (I’m not the fool, haha). My friend even sent Taysha a message asking why she wasn’t able to purchase anything… and Taysha responded saying the products were “limited”… (Check Taysha’s Twitter for a similar story) However, she had already gotten money from my friend paying to access the site. So although the chick is a con artist, she’s kind of smart.
