The rumor mill can stop because the facts are in. Divorce papers have been filed after 22 months of marriage and a hearing is set for July 15th. The Associated Press and other news sources have already been privy to the Raymonds’ divorce papers. And we’ve found the case filing:

Usher filed the papers Friday morning with the Fulton County Superior Court. And he received a hearing date for next month. Both Usher and Tameka’s reps are avoiding phone calls and comments. And we hear Tameka didn’t see it coming and is up-set. Here’s her latest Tweet:

I think it has been said time and time again: This relationship wasnt something that anyone expected to work. People may have hoped it would but reality is all the odds were against them. No one really knows what went down between Tameka and hubby #1, but the way the story was portrayed is that she saw a better meal-ticket in Usher. She left her husband and moved on. That’s what everyone is basing their comments on.
But most people have to admit that something wasn’t right from jump since his own mother was against their relationship. And even more against them getting married and having kids together when Tameka already has a family.
I’m sure no one ever really wished them ill, but the odds of their relationship working out were stacked against them. So, I’m really not surprised by this turn of events either.

Now if she left her good husband to be with Usher, well now she has a story to tell to others about making more wiser decisions…however im sure she weighed all the potential options and she knew deep down that Usher may not stick around for long (and smart woman would). However while she may be set for life financially, Im sure when it is quiet at night she will realize that money is not everything when it comes to your emotional health…now mind you she will be thinking about this in her mini-mansion or while driving her expensive foreign car. At least financially she will have the luxury to think.

Team Tameka here… From the beginning, people have been criticizing and calling Tameka filthy names. I ask any of you to put yourself in her shoes for one minute. She worked with Usher, then they were FWBs, then lovers and then husband and wife. If I were Tameka I would have been mad and defensive also. Because Black people are so f*cked up, no one wanted to believe that Usher just loved that beautiful brown woman (who needs a perm). Stereotypes abound… Tameka was shady, her past, three kids, etc… Bottom line, Usher loved her and he let him momma, fans and the media tell him different. Instead of divorcing her, he should just hook back up with JD and make another banging album. I thinking he is blaming Tameka for poor record sales and falling out of favor with fans.

@ Lucinda, I agree. I know from personal experience that mothers-in-law can be overbearing, nosey, and opinionated and at times very ignorant. And with Usher being a celebrity and having his mother as his manager, Tameka probably had it very tough. People keep making reference to Chilli. Chilli was only his girlfriend – not his wife. And about Tameka’s “shady past”, I believe all of that happened when she was lise 19 years old. Ok, it is 20 years later and i am sure she learned from her mistakes.
People are so qucik to bask in someone else’s pain – especially in our black community. So sad…

When Usher came out with his album, Chris Brown was going strong and Usher did appear “weak” when measured with this new artist. Plus Usher has a corny track record…he breaks up with someone and then tries to air his laundry via an album. It was ok with Chili b/c they were not married, but it will not work this time Usher. I bet Usher is not betting on that when he puts this album out, there will be a hotter guy out then…then again I hope his album does extremely well so Tameka and ALL her sons could get PAID!!!

Why ppl keep referring to her skin tone when Chilli isn’t light-skinned? His fans did not like/accept her because they loved him and Chilli together, so it didn’t matter if it was Tameka or some light-skinned model chick, they was not gonna accept her. People keep saying that divorce is unpleasant…well i have been thru one recently and it went fine for me. Sometimes divorce is for the best especially if you are making each other miserable and putting on fronts for the kids and people on the outside but behind closed doors you barely speak to one another. I have lived thru that and being without him is so much better. And yes we did have a kid together and he had a daughter when I met him but I am a firm believer that it is better for the kids that the parents be happy rather than living a lie and being unhappy. It makes for a very unhealthy home environment. And I have stated before that sometimes we hold on to the very thing that God is trying to get out of our lives. Yes divorce is wrong but so are many other things that people do on a daily basis. No one sin is greater than the next. But I believe that the God that I serve would much rather I live a happy fulfilling life than stay in a loveless and lifeless marriage. I could be wrong but I am thinking that I am not. Just my opinion though.

A few years ago when Tameka worked for Usher, before they were even an item, much less a couple, she pushed up on Wendy Williams at an industry party and said ‘have me on your show next week and I’ll give you the real dirt on Usher’. Wendy was like, oh okay, one day next week, we’ll be in touch.
Well, when she came on the show, all of a sudden she didn’t have anything to say, just acting retarded. Needless to say, Tameka was gone before the commercial break. A couple years later, he is marrying this same chick.

You know it is funny you say that because my husband said the same thing about his first marriage. He that he know divorce is wrong in God’s eyes but he does not think that God would want he to stay in a marriage that he was very miserable in. I never thought about it that way until he said that and I saw his point. There are so many people who want to get married just for show, no matter how many signs God showed them not to because it wasn’t His plan for them to marry each other but do it anyway and wonder why they go through so many issues while together.

Well, Ursher has been spotted in Gay bars in New York City. Not sorta gay bars or bars which attract gay and straight people. Very popular Gay bars which attract a mix of Black and White Gay men. He could be straight a simply liked the place and he would not be the first straight person to frequent a gay bar, but I can see why there are rumors.
I think people seem to think Ursher was some how this naive little boy which Tameka took advantage of. Ursher is a lot more savvy, clever, and shady than people want to believe. Don’t let the baby face fool you. This is a man whose been a treacherous, competitive business for a long time. He’s not innocent.
If anyone got in over their head it was Tameka. Tameka fooled herself into thinking because you work for famous and wealthy people (she worked with Lauren Hill for a while) you think you are one of them. You are not. You’re an employee. And even if say you a “mere mortal” hook up or even marry a celebrity they still see you as beneath them in some ways or in every way.
As for his mother, she too is not the injured party. This is a savvy business woman whose first concern’s was her son’s career. She’s very much like Brooke Shield’s mother. So focused on her child’s career being bigger and better, she never paid attention to her child’s emotional well-being or giving them the tools to make good decisions in their personal lives. So it’s no surprised to me that Ursher makes poor choices in mates (Chilli was poor choice too.)

Beauty is a blessing from God. I just wanted to make this statement before addressing the light skin vs. dark skin debate that seems to pop up into every blog posting. I feel that a persons “features” make them beautiful not their skin color. If you feel that you are a funny-looking dark skin person, believe me you will still be a funny-looking light skin person as well. Plus ugliness is measured only by the standards in which your culture has established way before any of us were born. I feel that when God formed us all with his hands (like a potter creating a creation on his/her potters wheel) and breathed life into us, he did not think we were ugly at that time. So if you have the audacity to say anyone is ugly please have the same boldness when you slap God in the face because that is exactly what your doing.

“Making people care about love again,” says Usher, “that was the mission for me on this album.”
That’s no small goal to set for yourself, but Usher Raymond has never been shy about his ambitions. With his new album, HERE I STAND, one of the biggest stars in the pop universe has truly stepped into new territory—boldly presenting his music with a maturity, scope, and range (both vocal and emotional) beyond anything he has achieved before, and driven by a blazing purpose and passion.
“I wanted this album to really be who I am,” says Usher. “I’m going to be 30 years old this year. I’m not the same as I was when I was 21, or 24 when I started my last album. I’ve had lots of changes in my life, I have a wife and a child, and I wanted to do something that really showed that.”
Certainly, the last year has been a time of great upheaval for a man who has sold thirty million albums and won five Grammy awards in his remarkable career. After a tumultuous period around his wedding last summer, Usher and wife Tameka Foster welcomed a son, Usher Raymond V, in November. A few months later, Usher’s father passed away.
It’s enough to make anyone evaluate the work they do and the legacy they want to leave. “I knew it was time to step up and take control of my life,” writes Usher in the album’s liner notes, describing himself as emerging from his trials and tribulations “unwavering, steadfast, pure-hearted, and wholly dedicated to love.”
This aspiration runs through HERE I STAND, whether expressing a yearning for intimacy in the vulnerable ballad “His Mistake” or struggling with fidelity on “Appetite.” What Usher ultimately reveals is a depth and integrity that have largely been absent from contemporary R&B.
“In the last few years, hip-hop had gotten so popular because it was so honest, and R&B was dying because it was losing its substance,” he says. “I was thinking, how do you balance the score? And what I realized is that to make change, you can’t just conform, you have to dictate, and be willing to take risks.”
“I want to influence people to evaluate what’s important in life, and I feel like I’m doing that.”
It’s hard to believe that it has been more than fifteen years since Usher was discovered after an appearance on “Star Search” and signed to LaFace Records—more than half of his lifetime has been spent in fame’s white-hot spotlight. His self-titled 1994 debut was a moderate hit, but his breakthrough was 1997’s MY WAY, which sold six million copies and featured the massive hits “You Make Me Wanna,” “Nice & Slow,” and the album’s title track.
The four-times-platinum 8701 followed in 2001, which included “U Remind Me” and “U Don’t Have to Call” (songs which won back-to-back Grammys in the “Best Male R&B Vocal Performance” category) and the Number One hit “U Got It Bad.”
But none of that success could compare to the phenomenon that erupted around 2004’s CONFESSIONS album. The disc sold over one million copies its first week of release, still the highest debut-week numbers ever for a male R&B artist. “Yeah!,” “Burn,” and “Confessions Part II” all topped Billboard’s Hot 100 singles charts, and Usher became the first solo artist in history to have three singles inside the Hot 100’s top 10 simultaneously (only the Beatles and the Bee Gees had previously accomplished this feat). After “My Boo,” a duet with Alicia Keys, also hit Number One, he closed out the year having spent twenty-eight weeks at the top of the U.S. charts.
CONFESSIONS was the most successful album of 2004, selling over 10 million copies in the US and almost 20 million worldwide. Usher won three Grammys, two MTV Video Music Awards, three World Music Awards, four American Music Awards, and eleven Billboard Music Awards.
How do you follow that kind of triumph? For Usher, who has acted in a number of successful feature films, it was time to conquer another medium. In 2006, he took over the role of Billy Flynn in the long-running Broadway musical CHICAGO. He also took part in a number of hit collaborations in the aftermath of CONFESSIONS, recording alongside Lil’ Jon, R. Kelly, Omarion, and Mary J. Blige.
But when it was time to tackle a new, full-length project, Usher would not rest easy. “My goal with every album is to be as honest as I possibly can,” he says, “and to be better each time.” He also knew that he needed to take a long, hard look at his own life to identify the sounds and themes of his new work.
“This album is about the process of finding love,” he says, “of wanting to be married to someone and spend your life with them. You hope to find that person, and when you do, you go on a journey, and it consists of ups and downs, joys and temptations.”
Usher was clear in his mission from the very beginning of HERE I STAND, which includes contributions from an all-star team of producers(Jermaine Dupri, Stargate, Danja) and guest spots from Jay-Z, Beyonce, and Young Jeezy.
“I worked with a lot of people on this album, and everyone had to understand that sonically, I needed this album to be something over and above,” he says. “Not just a club banger, something that’s hot in this moment, but something that would stand over time. Everyone was challenged in that way, that this was more than the normal Usher formula.”
That focus is evident in the epic, atmospheric sweep of “Moving Mountains” and in the classic structure of the title track, which has the makings of a pop standard, a first-dance wedding song (“I didn’t write it for that purpose,” says Usher, “but I was the first person who used it for that—I danced to it at my wedding.”)
Not that all of HERE I STAND is, as someone put it, nice and slow. “Mark Pitts, my A&R, said, ‘We gotta lighten it up, people might think it’s too serious, too mature,’” says Usher. “We needed something more fun, loose, electric, so we brought in people like Will.I.Am and Tricky for that more lighthearted side. Polow came up with more of a trance/techno record, and that was ‘Love in This Club.’”
Usher explains that while the hit first single may seem to be at odds with the album’s grown-up approach, it really serves as a “prelude” to the songs that follow. “The album is about that boy, looking for a good time in a club, becoming a man,” he says. “The topics changes, and the ways he deals with things.
“Every album is about immortalizing that moment of where I was and what I was feeling,” he continues. “So with a song like ‘Love in This Club,’ I tried to put myself back three years, to how I felt at that time, and then bring it up to how I feel now.”
With HERE I STAND, Usher invokes such immortal inspirations as Al Green and Marvin Gaye, for the masculinity and adult sensibility of their work. And he thinks that he’s standing at the leading edge of a change in R&B. “You’re starting to see male artists embracing that next step in life,” he says. “It’s just naturally what happens—you can’t continue to do the same thing at 30 or 40 that you did when you were 20. Is it still as important to be that hustler, that player, as it is to be a father, a stand-up man in a monogamous relationship?
“Music had gotten to a place where nobody wanted to settle down, they just wanted to keep the party going,” says Usher. “But for me, it was time to put away childish things and become a man.”

I know that when you enter a marriage that your mother do not see fit, God will not Bless the marriage or union. If my parents are against something that is definitely a wake up call for me. God gave us parents to listen to for a reason. Plus, My honest opinion, he should have stayed with Chili, she was the better pick for him.

First, Tameka was CHEATING on her former husband with Usher. Usher should have known he was doomed. That shows that she has no morals. Second, she was way too old (in age and looks) with too many kids – why would a man want that responsibility in his late 20s? Third, everyone knew she was out to get him for his money when she cranked out TWO more children within the first MONTHS of their marriage.
Usher will probably be burned from marriage for a long time. You should have listened to your mother.

I just wanted to say I am never happy to hear about divorce unless abuse is involved or cheating. Secondly, I wanted to say if it is true she dismantled her previous family to connect and create the new family, we reap what we sow. We can’t make a wrong decision and expect it to have the right results. That is not the way it works.

I’m kind of tired of people assuming that if we call a dark skin women ugly, it is because of her skin color. No one who talks about her appearance has mentioned her skin color. Im not sure but it seems like you feel as if dark skin equals ugly so you automatically think thats what everyone else is saying. I think there are definitely dark skin women that we all think are beautiful. If Usher would have married Kelly Rowland or Gabrielle Union we would have all applauded his tastes in women. Naomi Campbell is one of the most beautiful women in the world. Angela Bassett is beautiful. Last but not least, Michelle Obama is considered one of the most fashionable women in the world. No one is hating on dark skin at all.

This is sad. Usher and Tameka’s boys aren’t even that old! Tameka has so many children! What do her babies from the other father think? I’m not joking about Tameka, I just can’t imagine how her children feel. Did they even bond well with Usher?
Hopefully Tameka will slow down and take care of her kids the best way she can. Usher of course will definitely take care of his babies. His first one looks like he could be his twin!

usher i really dont want to see anyone go through any pain but as one of your fans i really want to say the reason so many of us hated on her is just plain and simple we treated her like any average you can look at someones actions,attitude and make a judgement about them and we see her type all the time she just a golddigger on a different level but we see this everyday in the hood.i applaud you for doing the right thing by her but that was never a basis for a marriage. thats why it didnt work plus she suffers from self esteem issues and if shes not ok with herself she cant do you no good,and to diss chilli on that record to pacify her was low as hell chilli was minding her own business she didnt deserve that now who looks like the fool but i hope you at least be a man and apologize to her now maybe this next album can be some of the old usher and not a tribute album because as you can see she wasnt worthy.
