Alicia Keys and her beau–at least that’s what others are now calling him–Swizz Beatz were spotted partying it up in NY last night:
Alicia Keys, celebrating the opening of the New York City park the High Line with hip-hop producer beau Swizz Beatz. The pair were in good spirits and chatty at the gala, which was hosted by Ed Norton, at Chelsea Piers’ Pier 60. The singer couldn’t attend the afterparty – a first look at the newly renovated rooftop park – because she had to head to the studio.
They’ve gone from vacationing together (in the pic above) to hitting the party scene together. Sounds like they’re ready to go public to me….
People mag has released their 2009 Hottest Bachelors list. And the sexiness that is Common made the cutoff. Here’s what he had to say about being in love:
“One of the most extreme things I’ve done is be extremely in love,” says the actor-rapper, 37, who stars in Terminator Salvation. “It was just the whole lifestyle I chose; I sat down and helped plant a garden with her! That went a little too far for me. But I was trying to be in a balanced relationship and do some of the things that she would enjoy, too. Then afterward you think, ‘Dang – did I do all that?’ “

Swizz and Mashonda have been separated FOR A MINUTE! Hence he left her with the house in Westchester and moved out on his own.
This whole thing was kept between the parties involved until Mashonda decided to air Swizzy’s dirty laundry trying to “embarrass” him into giving her more money for their divorce settlement. WHICH mind you, she had been giving him the round about on signing the papers for the longest.

Separated still means married, while divorced means NOT married, for those who don’t know that for whatever reason. Fortunately, however, he has, at least, finally decided to go on with the divorce and it is apparently over between he and his wife.
But, enough with that old news; can’t continue to beat a dead horse.
So, good luck to Alicia and Swizz. Hopefully, things work out better for them than they did for Swizz and his other women.

A separation is actually used to re-evaluate the marriage.
Sometimes a divorce comes out of it, but not always.
Couples who are separated reconcile all the time, and really that’s the hope; because a marriage is supposed to be forever. You are supposed to try everything, even taking a step back from one another, to make it work; because, again, couples may think that the marriage is over before it really is.
Even so, in regards to Swizz and Alicia current situation, all of this doesn’t matter. It’s obvious that they are ready to move forward with each other. And I’m not mad at them. I actually think they have a lot in common, and could possibly be good for one another. So, I sincerely hope the best for them.
Still, I thought that it was necessary to state the difference between a separation and a divorce. I think people not understanding that difference is the reason why the divorce rate is so high, and why so many people get caught up in situations with legally married people.

I kind of think that Swizz and Alicia are going to have a very open relationship, meaning that they are going to be forth right about what they want and who they may want outside of each other. I mean, why not be that way? It’s not like they don’t know what the other is capable of.
