Tupac’s mother Ms. Afeni Shakur was on hand to celebrate her son’s life.
Lil Scrappy, his mama *sigh*, and D. Woods were all there too. I see there was no clear dress code for this celebration…

“I’m a long-time fan of Pac’s music. It’s always been the soundtrack for overcoming struggle and when my life was in a desolate place it was his messages that helped bring me through. Why in the hell isn’t this enough for you. At least there is a cake and no one is going to approve of every cake. The cake shows the beauty of being from the ghetto (and trust me there is some beauty in the ghetto) it’s called creativity.
I am glad to see that fans and family are still remembering tupac and can honor him in a real way and be their selves…..it is how Tupac would have wanted it. Everyone celebrates in remembrance differently, some actually visit the grave site, others throw parties and sometimes do both.

While I don’t agree entirely with the last comment, I do beleive that if you are going to honor someone do it with a little class. Showing up looking the way some of these people did is not the business. If you claim to have “mad respect” for someone, respect him to the fullest. Tupac may not have been the most positively influential person but he was human and just like any other human he became caught up in life and made some bad choices. Unfortunately, some of those choices caused his downfall. I personally was a fan of Tupac. He made good music despite what his image was. I just hope that in the future we can celebrate him in a more respectful manner.
