The Raymond divorce papers have been analyzed by media sources–and it looks like some sneaky ish was going down. The papers confirm that Usher and Tameka have been separated since July 2008. No surprise to us. But apparently, Usher found out Tameka hired a private investigator to trail Ursh for the past year. And now he wants EVERYTHING they captured on him to be turned over:
The “Love in This Club” singer is seeking a full rundown of all documents his missus has kept during the course of their marriage…
That includes tax files, paycheck stubs, bank account information and other financial records, insurance policies, real-estate rental agreements, medical records and automobile registrations.
On the more personal—and potentially acrimonious—side of things, he’s also seeking copies of “notes, cards, letters, photographs, film, documents, tapes, voice recordings, gift, jewelry, clothes” or other evidence that reflects on Usher’s conduct during their marriage, as well as detective reports, photos or recordings that have resulted from either “surveillance or investigation” of her onetime better half.
Making sure no stone is left unturned—or potentially leaked to the media, no doubt—he’s also requesting copies of “any and all diaries or personal notes kept…during the course of the marriage.”
Damn! Guess there’s some ish that just may conveniently leak if Tameka’s scorned enough. Additionally, Usher is seeking joint custody of their two kids Usher V and Naviyd Ely.
In other Splitsville news, MTV has scoped out how much Nas is worth and just how bad Kelis may be messed over if he never ponies up the $30k cash she requested for her and their unborn baby:
The paperwork alleges Nas signed an $11 million recording contract with Def Jam and is co-owner of touring company, Gorilla Union. The documents state Nas also pays for five homes, three for the couple in Los Angeles, New York and Georgia, and one for his family in New York and her family in the Dominican Republic. In addition to business ventures and property, the filings suggest Nas owns a number of luxury items, including a Rolls Royce Phantom, a Maybach, a Ferrari and a full-time driver in New York.
According to the filing, the married couple maintained separate bank accounts and filed separate tax returns.
“All of this is adding up and all of the weight is falling on her shoulders, creating extreme emotional stress which I’m sure has affects on her physically since she’s due to give birth any day now,” the source said. “Kelis has spent every last penny that she has to cover whatever expenses for the baby that she can but at this point really needs him to step up and share in the responsibility. She physically can’t work to bring in any sort of income, as much as she’d like to.”
Apparently Kelis has been trying to get in touch with Mr. Jones but he won’t answer. Sad situation for everyone involved really….

In order for a divorce to get this nasty something had to go very wrong. They either werent meant for each other in the first place, or someone stepped out of bounds within the marraige. Well, in his papers he’s asking for joint custody and agreed to pay child support when the baby comes. Plus, before she filed those papers he was all over everywhere talking about the baby and he even blogged about him. So I don’t think paternity is in question. I mean she filed for divorce, so maybe he feels like if you want to go, just go or maybe he’s just a controlling bastard lol Still fine as hell though.

On Nas and Kelis…if this is true..I don’t think its right that he is not taking care of his responsibilities. Does he have reason to think the child isn’t his? This is a rough economy for everyone. And everyone needs to downsize and adjust. With all of the jewelry and watches that she owns she should sell. This will bring her an easy $250-$300K. The engagement ring is worth 190K alone. And it is safe to assume that she won’t need it since the marriage is over. This will help with bills as well as eccentials needed for the baby. Kelis needs to be realistic with her funds..or there lack of. Fight for the following:
1. A house in her name out of the 5 that he owns
2. Child Support including medical including costs to have the baby
Other than that he doesn’t owe you a GOTDAMN thing. What was she doing in those years of marriage? Nothing is forever. As a girl my mother taught me to never put myself in a situation where I am totally dependent on a man or anyone else. Kelis damm sure had the means and funds to start her own business. I think that she got caught up in the glitz and glamour of being Nas’ wife and became satisfied. Here is the thing…Beyonce and Jay Z seem to have a stable marriage. But God forbid if they split, Beyonce will be just fine. Why? Because she didn’t get caught up in her husband’s money or status…she has her own and has been consistantly working and bringing in millions.
Kelis has a warped sense of her finances. Push come to shove, you go without so your baby can have. Downsize your lifestyle. Learn to cook, you don’t have to eat out at 5 star restaurants all the time. You don’t need $20-$30K for a stroller or crib. I’ve never seen a crib or stroller on Baby’s r us for thousands of $$. She doesn’t need to be kept in the lifestyle that she’s accustomed to. Her and her manager should regroup and figure out a way for her to bring in some revenue. Because spousal support is not likely…unless its proven that he cheated and left the relationship.

My parents have been married for 35 years and here’s how the money works: They each have a separate bank account and put a set amount each month into a joint bank account. The household bills are paid from the joint bank account. Personal expenses are paid from the individual acct. Nobody is getting put out because each has paid into the property and if you want to leave you’ve got the funds to do it.

Nope, even though it isn’t their biological child once you are married and that adopted child is brought into the marriage – that child is YOURS and therefore YOU MUST PAY!

It’s sad, but true how most men react when the marriage is over and kids are involved. Nas has no excuse. I bet he’ll pick up the phone when she goes into premature labor! Side note…I lived through this bullish last year with the father of my kids. He used to support me and his 3 kids, but since I left because he was abusive…we get no help at all…and guess what…My kids and I are doing sooo much better with out him. God always provides!! Ms. Esquire is CORRECT – in most states children born into a marriage is BY LAW presumed to be the child of the husband and there is caselaw where husbands or ex-husbands have been forced to pay child support when paternity testinf established the child was not the husband’s biological child. it hurts but it really does happen.

well to the fact that Kelis is married, while it may hold some leverage for now, it hold much when the baby is born.. nas can order a paternity test and if indeed the child is not his, he does not have to pay for support…they were not married in ny state, they were married in atlanta..and if he can prove that the child is not his, she’ll lose alimony support as well as child support, remember, she isn’t of the “normal” class like us, so he will not have to pay for support…..now stop all the cookin’…this is a man with money, who can hire the attorneys that us common folk can not. he won’t be paying unwillingly for the next mans seed.

In Atlanta, if one partner is found to be adulturus, they won’t get alimony,(most cases) and he has alot of crediablility to him and that source was Miss Kelis… if he is providing a home for you and a seperate home for you family he has done alot. Its not like they have accumulated alot together and they were not in business together and she sure didn’t help him start a business, all this factors in when they go before the judge..she had a career before him and he did not take her out of her career…so he won’t be held liable for her. It has been less than 5 years that they were married, if that baby isn’t his, she won’t be dancing too much, cuz she won’t be gettin much… she wasn’t a nobody when they met, he wasn’t married when they got together, and he already has a child and support payments that will speak to his judgement and all that will be taken into consideration…..
