The Jackson family, as well as almost every musician and celebrity in touch with the public, has expressed their shock and sadness from Michael Jackson’s death.

Blog and Twitter messages and statements from the stars:
Usher: “May God cover you Michael. We all lift your name up in prayer. I pray for the entire JACKSON family particularly Michael’s mother, children and all his fans that loved him so much. I would not be the artist, performer, and philanthropist I am today without the influence of Michael. I have great admiration and respect for Him and I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to meet and perform with such a great entertainer, who in so many ways, transcended the culture. He broke barriers, he changed radio formats! With music, he made it possible for people like Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama to impact the mainstream world. His legacy is unparalleled. Michael Jackson will never be forgotten.”
Beyonce: “The incomparable Michael Jackson has made a bigger impact on music than any other artist in the history of music. He was magic. He was what we all strive to be. He will always be the King of Pop! Life is not about how many breaths you take, but about how many moments in life that take your breath away. For anyone who has ever seen, felt, or heard his art, we are all honored to have been alive in this generation to experience the magic of Michael Jackson. I love you Michael.”
Diddy: Michael Jackson showed me that you can actually see the beat. He made the music come to life!! He made me believe in magic. I will miss him!
Vanessa Simmons: The death of Michael Jackson came as such a surprise to me. At first I felt incredibly saddened, but as I sat and thought of Michael Jackson, the greatest entertainer of our time, it put a smile on my face. He was such a dynamic person who touched tonssssssssssssss of people with his talent! That’s incredible! A round of applause for Micheal
Madonna: “I can’t stop crying over the sad news. I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless.”
Russell Simmons: Michael Jackson was my generation’s most iconic cultural hero. Courageous, unique and incredibly talented. He’ll be missed greatly.
Mariah Carey: I am heartbroken. My prayers go out to the Jackson family, and my heart goes out to his children. Let us remember him…
Brandy: It hasn’t hit me YET!!! I know when it does I will be a f**kin WRECK!!!!! I loved and still LOVE Michael Jackson!!!
Quincy Jones: “I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news. For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young age, I just don’t have the words. Divinity brought our souls together on The Wiz and allowed us to do what we were able to throughout the 80’s. To this day, the music we created together on “Off The Wall,” “Thriller” and “Bad” is played in every corner of the world and the reason for that is because he had it all…talent, grace, professionalism and dedication. He was the consummate entertainer and his contributions and legacy will be felt upon the world forever. I’ve lost my little brother today, and part of my soul has gone with him.”
Erykah Badu: Thank you Michael for your hard work , dedication ,philanthropy,& the sacrifice of your young spirit . Your vision and imagination live thru us. I don’t know what to say.

LAPD’s statement on Michael Jackson’s death
10:35p EST: The Jackson family lawyer just spoke on ABC and said that he has witnessed Michael and incorrect use of prescription drugs. He said it has been happening for the past couple of years. He said he will be very vocal about it if the autopsy report points to the cocktail of 7 medications he believes Michael has been taking. Apparently the lawyer has been trying to warn everyone around Michael of his concerns for a while now.
Michael’s body has been transported from UCLA.

Sad Sad day.. RIP to the King of Pop
Thu, June 25, 2009 11:23 PM
There are NO words and no amount of tears that could begin to convey just how saddened I am by this.
Michael Jackson is a tremendous loss to the music world. I’m watching MTV now and they just showed a clip of him making a guest appearance with N’Sync at the MTV music awards some years back. The “King of Pop” received a standing ovation, which is no surprise.
My heart grieves for the Jackson family, his children and friends.
Thu, June 25, 2009 11:23 PM
every entertainer today pulls from mike….he was GIFTED. he was ICONIC not a bootyshaker, but an inovator, from his style to his music. only 50 years old! wow, wow, wow. a legend. I see traits of him in every major artist. beyonce, and that dumb glove in single ladies, rihanna and some of her concert wear, USHER, OMARION, CHRIS BROWn,ciara and her moves…….a legend, period.his music impacted the WORLD and two whole generations
Thu, June 25, 2009 11:27 PM
I’m in complete and UTTER shock. Not only at his passing but at some of the things that people have the AUDACITY to say.
His body isn’t even cold and people are talking out the side of their necks. So many glass houses and a barrage of stones being thrown. . .
He wasn’t a perfect person. nor did he try to be.
HOWEVER, everyone should have respect for the end of a Human life. He was a PERSON. A man. A father. A brother. A friend to some. An icon to most.
May he rest in the peace that we never offered him. May we never forget his legacy.
Thu, June 25, 2009 11:29 PM
OMG, I can’t believe he’s gone.
He was the ULTIMATE ENTERTAINER!!!
i whole heartedly agree with do-it!! Chris Brown would give a great dance tribute to MJ at the BET Awards, no rehearsals necessary.
WE LOVE YOU MIKE!!!
Thu, June 25, 2009 11:30 PM
It is sad that it takes his death for some people to acknowledge his accomplishments. Many people including myself would make jokes at his expense. Now I have caught myself trying to chastise people for being negative. I was a complete hypocrite like most of the people out there today.
Michael may God bless your soul. I hope you are finally at peace. I am ashamed at some of the things I have said and laughed about when it came to you. I am sorry and will keep your family and friends in my prayers.
Thu, June 25, 2009 11:33 PM
This was a gifted man, far beyond ALOTT of entertainers out there. I wish his family my condolences. I feel for his children.
Thu, June 25, 2009 11:36 PM
Shocked and dumbfounded is all I can say. I’m just and average fan but I burst into tears when I first heard the news. This is equivalent to Elvis’s death for our times!
Thu, June 25, 2009 11:39 PM
Michael Jackson one of a kind. There will never be another entertainer like him in our life time. The world mourn his lost. May his family and true friends find strength through
prayers. Your work is done you did a great job while you were here. Go sing and dance with the angels….R.I.P
“One Love”
Thu, June 25, 2009 11:51 PM
I AM SO F***ING MAD RIGHT NOW AT NANCY GRACE. EVEN AFTER MJ’S DEATH, SHE IS STILL OUT THERE TO GET HIM AND DIG DIRT ABOUT HIM… SHE IS STILL TALKING ABOUT THE SEXUAL ALLEGATIONS AND SH**… WHAT A HATEFUL BITCH!!!!!
LET MICHAEL REPOSE IN PEACE…
Thu, June 25, 2009 11:54 PM
A Huffingtonpost.com writer stated ” A era of our youth has gone for those of us not old enough to be babyboomers; MJ’s glove, moonwalk, jacket and music, Charlie’s Angels dolls’, and Kung Fu movies”.
I can still remember at 11 years old full of childhood dreams of marrying MJ. He was my first crush and I would kiss the poster of him in his yellow sweater and bow tie before I went off to school. Thanks MJ for having me remember my beautiful childhood and “singing” me to sleep as I pondered through the perils of puberty.
God Bless your family, friends , children, and fans throughout the world.
God Bless your soul.
Thu, June 25, 2009 11:56 PM
I appreciate what Erykah said about him. He unselfishly sacrificed his youth to change the world of music and entertainment. Thank you Michael…..R.I.P

Damn, we need to get a better handle on prescription drugs and how people take them. To many people are dying because of incorrect usage. MJ would be miss by all but may his creative vision of music, dance and sound continue to live on through his music and up and coming talents. One of the best of ALL time and truly the one and ONLY KING of POP

Fri, June 26, 2009 12:12 AM
Despite what the media has said about Mike & his situations associated with him, I will always remember the magic Michael had…the artist & great performer he was and there will never EVER be another like him….He rocked the whole world from the desserts of Africa to the slums of China to the US everyone knew who Michael Jackson was…and I still have yet realized the reality of his death
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:15 AM
I think that lawyer making that final statement is beyond disrespectful. Is he supposed to get a cookie if he’s right? There’s no sense in him wanting to have the “I told you so” of this moment. That’s so unnecessary and very unprofessional. I hope the Jacksons fire his ass.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:17 AM
May god bless mike’s family and may they have the privacy that they need right now I hope for the best for his children I can imagine what they are going through to lose a parent/father. We have lost a great entertainer on 7/25/09.
Now for the bitch Nancy grace you need to let what happened in the pass be this man is dead and deserves respect he was found not guilty of all charges so bitch go sit the f*#k down you an Perez need to watch out for Michael’s super Stans when your out on the street.
Rip M.J. You will never be forgotten I wish I could have saw you in concert I’m only 17 so I wasn’t around during your big tours maybe one day in heaven I will see you perform
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:18 AM
I think this has got to be the most shocking celebrity death to date . . . Michael will truly be missed . . . My prayers go out o him family and especially his children . . . I know that he and Janet were extremely close and this has got to be taking its toll on her . . . I just hope that the media gives the family some privacy and respect in the time of mourning . . . I can’t imagine music without Mike. I am only 23 and every artist that I can think of has some of mike’s inspiration in their routines. Thank you Mike…you touched a culture. Your legacy will always live on through entertainers from today and tomorrow. Thank you for 40 years
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:43 AM
BEYONCE: “This is such a tragic loss and a terrible day,” Beyoncé says of his passing. “The incomparable Michael Jackson has made a bigger impact on music than any other artist in the history of music. He was magic. He was what we all strive to be.”
“Life is not about how many breaths you take, but about how many moments in life that take your breath away,” she added. “For anyone who has ever seen, felt, or heard his art, we are all honored to have been alive in this generation to experience the magic of Michael Jackson. I love you Michael.”
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:08 AM
I am soooo sad my famliy and I just loved his music. And to all the a**holes out there talking ish go f*&k your self
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:16 AM

Fri, June 26, 2009 1:17 AM
I am sooooooooo sad! Like many of you, I grew up on Michael Jackson. I honestly feel like I lost a member of my family. Regardless of what happened to him during life, you have to respect his contributions to the music industry. Hell, he made the music industry what it is today! Much love Michael, WE MISS YOU!
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:26 AM
I am so fortunate to have been alive to see the magic that was Michael Jackson! Often imitated, NEVER duplicated!!! I hope they give him a STANDING OVATION at his funeral.
Thank you Michael! *Applause*
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:34 AM
i got sick at work today when i was told… i couldnt believe it, a box of tissues and the thriller album later ill be ok. thank u m.j….finally u got some peace. R.I.P
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:38 AM
I agree on the comments about Nancy Grace, Prez Hilton and others media outlets who wants to use and bring up Michael’s history and past instead of focusing on the man’s legend. Yeah, he mad mistakes and was not perfect he was human but they neglect to say that he was found NOT guilty on the charges. I find it funny how people only want to use the American Legal system when it suits them, but I guess if your black you will always be guilty even when the court of law says your not.
Personally, I can’t stand Nancy Grace’s fat, racist, narrow minded, pompous ugly @ss!!! She cares nothing for our community or our problems we are only headlines in her stories when she needs to work an angle, when it suits her or make a point that goes back to her opinion. The same goes for Prez Hilton I’ am glad someone punch the crap out of him. Again, rest in peace Michael and Godspeed
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:00 AM
R.I.P MICHAEL JACKSON… YOU WILL FOREVER BE AN IMPORTANT PART OF THIS PLACE WE CALL EARTH. THE WORLD WOULD NOT KNOW MUSIC WITHOUT YOU…TAKE YOUR REST.
P.S.
EVERY NOW AND THEN, MOONWALK ALL OVER HEAVEN
…I LOVE YOU MICHAEL JACKSON,
DOUE =( “Thank You and God Bless” –%<3
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:13 AM
I just cannot believe you are Gone Michael. You will be truly missed.
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:21 AM
Reading this post and seeing the videos and all the news stories I still don’t believe Michael Jackson has passed. I thought this was a bad joke when I heard about it. I just want to wake up and this is not real. He was still young and I just knew he had another 20 or 30 years in him.
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:21 AM
I LOVE YOU MICHAEL!!! MAY YOU RIP! I ALWAYS DREAMED OF SEEING YOU ONE DAY. YOU WILL BE FOREVER LOVED!
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:23 AM
I can remember him admitting to abusing prescription drugs a few years back.If that was the reason for his death it is truly sad that such a dynamic mans life was taken at the age of 50.God Bless his family, his legacy lives on in Chris Brown,Usher,Ne-Yo and all of us who tried our best to MOONWALK.
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:32 AM
let’s simplify all ignorant drama that may pursue.
he was a wonder performer. that will be missed.
as a human, we dont know him – cant miss what u dont know.
the negative things, he’s done..if he repented he’s in heaven..not caring about any of yall’s opinions. if not, he’s in hell doing the same.
fans need to miss the PERFORMER & not start arguments over the MAN that they didnt know.
respect his talent. defend it…not what u dont know.
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:35 AM
Mike. I can’t believe this. It still hasn’t really set in yet that he is gone. He is one of the main reasons I started dancing. Choreoed my first dance for my dance team to one of his songs. We love you Mike. Thanks for all that you blessed us with.
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:43 AM

how about no…make that fuck no. that child doesn’t have a sliver of the talent and raw genius mj had, may he rest in peace. i hope his death and autopsy doesn’t become the media circus that anna nicole’s was…although doctors do need to stop prescibing all types of meds that interact badly with one another :(
Fri, June 26, 2009 4:31 AM
Its all starting to sink in..fell asleep in front of the TV woke up to MJ videos…I use to sit in front of the TV w/ my Mom and Sister waiting for MJ videos to premier..Black or White, Remember the time,Scream..watching Moonwalker on repeat. Colored his hair w/a a Sharpie on our MJ (Ken doll)..I never understood when people cried when we lost artist.I get it now.Rest in peace MJ..often imitated NEVER DUPLICATED..I will miss you forever!
Fri, June 26, 2009 5:33 AM
Im still in complete shock that he has passed!!! Even tho I am still in my early twenties, I grew up on his albums…. Off the Wall being one of my faves! I can still remember the day I first saw the “Remember the Times” video and the “Black or White” video! I can still rememeber the first time I heard Off the Wall, life just flowed through me! He is one of the many reasons I pursue music now! My aunt is an ultimate MJ fan, she was telling me last night about when her and another one of my aunts were about 22 (they are the same age as MJ) and they drove to L.A. from San Diego and tried to hop his fence so they could “talk” lol…. she said there were cameras in the tress and soon after that the cops came and they were arrested! Within the next 5 years my my and her sisters (along with my grandparents) met the Jacksn family maybe 3 times. They said all of them were VERY VERY HUMBLE! This is a humbling experience and I will keep his family close in my prayers. Thank you for all you have given music, your iconic image will always live on through the people you have inspired and more importantly through your children and other family! I still dont want to believe it!! rest in peace Michael! WE ALL LOVE YOU AND WILL MISS YOU!!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 5:46 AM

DONT WORRY ABOUT THAT BITCH SHE WILL ROT IN HELL ANYWAY FOR EXPLOITING OTHER PEOPLE’S PAIN FOR HER OWN GAIN. SHE IS NOTHING DIFFERENT FROM A CRACK WHORE ON HOLLYWOOD BLVD WHO WOULD DO ANYTHING TO GET A FIX. NANCY GRACE, GLORIA ALREAD ARE TWO WHORING FOR PUBLICITY IN THE COVER OF “HELPING OUT THE VICTIMS” HELPING THE VICTIMS MY ASS YOU MEAN PROLONGING YOUR SO CALLED TV MINUTES.
PLEASE DO NOT WATCH THAT WOMAN’S SHOW EVEN FOR 2 SECONDS-DON’T GIVE HER ANY RECOGNITION AND DON’T LET HER SPOIL YOUR DAY OF CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF NOT ONE OF BUT THE BEST ARTIS EVER!!!!!!!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 7:00 AM
R.I.P MICHAEL JACKSON YOU WILL BE MISSED.

R.I.P the one and only KING OF POP!!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 7:14 AM
I am trying to fight this, but tears just keep on running down my eyes
Fri, June 26, 2009 7:21 AM
Words can’t explain my feelings. I’ve cried enough and my head hurts. I hope he finally, truly accepted the man in the mirror(himself)for who he was before this untimely tragedy.
R.I.P legend! and the end of an ERA.
Fri, June 26, 2009 7:27 AM
Chris Brown doesn’t need to do nothing. A video montage of the REAL thing is better anyday. The whole place would be in tears!
My prayers go to Farrah Fawcetts family too!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 7:42 AM
June 25, 2009 is not like September 11, 2001 but everyone will damn well remember where/what they were doing when they found out… I feel for Janet, etc too. BET awards coming up..Hope they do this man justice with a tribute. Michael Jackson is now with his idol James Brown! RIP
Fri, June 26, 2009 7:44 AM
I still can’t believe…..its still sureal to me
Fri, June 26, 2009 7:52 AM
I stayed up so late last night and cried so much that my eyes burn and Im so tired…. I still cant believe it!……*blank stare* Damn……smh
Fri, June 26, 2009 7:59 AM
What makes me upset is that TMZ posted mad picutres of the family while they were driving from the hospital! The cameras were all in his moms face and LaToya and Jermains face! You could see with your eyes closed that they wanted those cameras out of their face and they wanted to be left alone! i just thought that was mad wrong how they invaded that personal space so much to lay on the hood of the car to get a pic!!! I just think its disrespectful! Sure we know he is the King of not just pop but music but he and his family are human! Let them mourn not even 4 hours after his death!! SMH.. R.I.P Michael!
Fri, June 26, 2009 8:07 AM
This came out of nowhere! I don’t care what anyone says in the media or otherwise, this man is what other entertainers are striving to be, an ICONIC LEGEND! I feel like a part of my childhood is gone too. I was 10 when Thriller was released & I can remember as if it were yesterday how LARGER THAN LIFE it was! Thanks for the memories Michael. Rest in eternal peace! May God comfort & bless his family.
Fri, June 26, 2009 8:40 AM
MAY MICHAEL JACKSON REST IN PEACE!!! =(

WOW….I am numb. I grew up with his music. Loved and appreciated him always. What a STAR, innovator, consummate business man, loving and dear father. He was filled with love but they would not leave him alone. How devastating.
I bless you Michael Joseph Jackson with divine love and beauty.
MMMMMMMMMMMMWAH

i hope this isnt the case but i think most people were aware of his constant hospitalizations and constant depression bouts that he had i was really hoping he made it thru his trial cuz that was probably the most stressful thing to deal with then he went to Bahrain..for a long time..then came back but most celebrities do take so many drugs from depression but i dont think that the lawyer that has spoken isnt lying but the autopsy will reveal the truth..this sounds so much like anna nicole smith…

I have never been this sad regarding someone I hadn’t physically been in contact with. But honestly we all know MJ we watched him grow up, admired him for the big brother /little brother he was too us, clowned him when he clowned and ultimately we were saddened because of the sacrifices that he made during his childhood for US to be entertained.
My 8 brothers and sisters & I grew up in a highly religious family in Philly and we only got to listen to MJ and watch the Cosby show. He was huge in my house growing up.I love and admire MJ and have to say this is crazy!! He will never be forgotten!!

I am not new to this site. I come to ybf daily for the latest gossip and to read comments but I never post. Today is diiferent. I feel I must post…. Michael “The King of Pop” is and will always be MUSIC. He set the standard for today’s and future artist. As I came home from work yesterday and clicked on the net I read that MJ was in the hopsital having suffered cardiac arrest. Then I began to get a flood of text saying that he died. I couldn’t believe it and I wouldn’t. I turned on to CNN. I didn’t believe it until CNN confirmed although some sites on the net had him dead before it was even announced. It was like they couldn’t wait to put him in the grave. How sad. I continued to watch the news as they were reporting and couldn’t believe some of the things some people were saying about him. Namely Nancy Grace. It angered me the way she was acting. So I felt it was my duty to call and write into her show to tell her that she is a disrespectful speculating bitch!!! Regardless of how you feel about what you “think” this man did in his life, he was still human and he deserves RESPECT. Atleast have the desentsy(sp)to keep your negative comments to yourself out of the respect of his grieving family. No matter your feelings they he and his family deserve that much. No one can deny that this man was and is a cultural worlr wide icon!!! He will forever be that. No one, not Nacy Grace or anyone else who doesn’t like him can take that away. He was a great humanitarian, giving millions of dollars to different causes of the world. He was a loving kind hearted man. I do believe MJ would give the shirt off his back if he knew someone else needed more than him. No one can take away the fact that he has loving fans all over the world. This man single handly put MTV on the map. This is a man, just through his talent alone that broke racial barriers. For many of us MJ is not like family, but is family. You know if you were at a party and someone put on some MJ you were in for a good time. Yes he was “different”, and not normal in some eyes. But who is to say what normal is? I feel that MJ was not weird but unique. I sit here writing this comment still heartbroken. His death is so surreal. Just as I will forever remember where I was and what I was doing when President Obama was elected and inaugurated. I will forever remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard that the greatest entertainer of all time had indeed died. Just like I would mourn the death of my fellow Army comrade, I will mourn MJ. Michael Jackson, we love you forever and always. You will always be in our hearts and minds, never to be forgotten. Go make sweet glorious music with the angels above for you are one of them now. RIP MJ We “the world” Love You!!!

Beyonce Dec 09 2008:
“I grew up upper-class. Private school. My dad had a Jaguar,” she recalls. “We’re African-American and we work together as a family, so people assume we’re like the Jacksons. But I didn’t have parents using me to get out of a bad situation.”

I hear you, I paid my respects and yes, this is a tribute…but hey, let’s call a spade a spade. Let’s remember she said shit about his family when she was promoting her album…

While I sit here watching videos of Michael Jackson on MTV2 I can’t seem to remember my life w/o MJ. Being 43yrs old, I can remember listening to ABC, I’ll be there, Never can say goodbye on my brother’s record player, to watching the Jacksons cartoon on Saturday mornings, going to see the Wiz with my classmates, to sitting down in my living room on a Friday nite waiting to see the world premiere of Thriller– Mr. Jackson thank you for giving up the most precious part of your life, your childhood and giving it to us in your music, like your song said—Gone too soon.

Oh Michael, my body feels so empty right now. I’m so shocked by your death. I’m so confused. We lost you. You’re gone. This isn’t reality. I’ve been on youtube, all over commenting the clips people have put together for you before your death, after your death. How can you be gone? You were sooo amazing. Words are not enough to describe what you’ve done to us people. I do not want to accept that you are dead. I love you. Your voice has touched me. You were a sweet person. You have touched me. Michael, I’m listening to “Remember the Time” in my head and I get images in my mind of your beautiful dancing. You are incomparable and there’s no other entertainer that can take your place!

It still breaks my heart to hear that one of my all time favorite musicians has passed away. I can only remember how much my sister and I imitated his dance moves when we were young. I remember hearing his songs, and watching him dance as i grew up, and apart of my heart will always remember the joy he brought to the millions of his fans worldwide. He will be greatly missed. R.I.P. MJ We love you.

UGH! Yes!… I thought I was the only person who noticed that. I literally laughed out loud when I read what she said… clearly from the movie Hitch. Just took Will Smith’s line right off the script.
