While President Obama was back at the White House handling North Korea, First Lady Michelle O. and First Daughters Sasha and Malia made their way to see Sasha Fierce. Beyonce’s “I Am” tour stop last night was here at D.C.’s Verizon Center and I got to take in all the fabulosity of it. About 5 minutes before lights went down and curtains went up, the crowd went insane and was pointing and cheering toward the second level to the right of the stage. And of course, it was the Obama girls (who I saw with my own two eyes), their tween cousins, and some White House staffers making their way to their seats. Yes, they skipped the VIP boxes and sat amongst the crowd. Loves it.
During the show, Beyonce included the Obamas in a montage of Inauguration pictures and video while she hit the stage to perform “At Last.” She also shouted out our First Lady being in attendance during her closing number. And of course the crowd went nuts again. Even though Mrs. Fierce was clearly losing her voice before the show even started, you could barely even tell once she started shutting it down. My overall opinion of the “I Am” tour: Say what you want about B, but no other artist is seeing homegirl’s performance game right now. Period.
By the way, Beyoncé’s new DVD/CD collection “Above and Beyoncé Video Collection & Dance Mixes” is out in Walmart now.

Janet doesn’t sing like she use to on stage… u can barely understand the words that come out of her mouth… she is theatrical and high energy but Beyonce also theatrical and full of high energy as well as current and vocal. Bey is today’s Janet J if we’re going to do comparisons..

Beyonce is the ultimate performer! She was meant to rule the stage! Her show is second to none! The vocals, dancing, presentation, crowd interaction is on point! It was great to see the First Lady and Sasha and Malia amongst the people! They had a ball! The are truly people person! Beyonce’s reviews have been off the hook as well! Funny. A few months ago when Beyonce mentioned in an interview that she was told the girls were a fan, people scoffed.

As someone who is a fan of both Janet Jackson and Beyonce and has seen both in concert, I would say Bey takes the cake. She literally blew me away last night. I saw Janet Jackson on her tour last year, which was quite a show stopper, therefore,I don’t necessarily believe the comparison is quite fair since this isn’t exactly Janet’s “heyday”. Now comparing Beyonce now to Janet Jackson circa Rhythm Nation or janet or even, my personal favorite, the Velvet Rope…that’s too close to call.

There are artists I love but there are few that are actually performers.
Example, there are a lot of good rappers out there, but very few can put on a performance like Busta can.
I love my reggae, not a fan of Elephant Man…perfer my Sizzla (for example)…but who can hype up a show, Elephant Man and I would pay to see him perform even though I enjoy the spirit of Sizzla.
That’s how I feel about Bey. It would be nice to see her at what she does best, performing. But damn, the remaing tickets a chunk of cash and I would want to be so far that I’m watching on the screen..she’s a speck in the distance. Might as well watch her at home and buy a new dress.

Congrats on ur upcoming weddings, ladies! Just try and relax! I just celebrated my 5th anniversary and when I look back at my wedding, I laugh at how stressed I was leading up to it. Just exhale! Even with some of the minor mishaps, it will still be one of the best days of your life! My maid of honor bailed on my reception (due to a very jealous boyfriend) and only a few people even noticed! LOL, it was still a TERRIFIC day! Don’t think too negatively of your fiances right now! It’s beyond wonderful that the Obama girls came out to that concert. I went to the one at Madison Square Garden and Beyonce is the best all around performer in the game now. Her vocals were crystal clear and sounded so wonderful on top of all that dancing. I give her so so so so much props, because you have to look at her schedule. She did TWO SHOWS in NYC, then went to Baltimore, then went to D.C and is doing N.C on Friday. So that’s Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Sunday. That’s her performance schedule for the week! And even after giving stellar performances, she is still performing full out with strong strong vocals. Not to mention she went overseas and did dozens and dozens of shows over there. Noone can touch her on the stage, noone, it would be a hard argument to pull.

No, I am a concert hopper. I will pay money to attend a concert. I must go to at least 5 concerts a year. I attended Bey’s concert in New York and I guarntee you will be in awe of her performance. I kept stating throughout the performance she is a bad bitch. The entire show was worth more than the 200 dollars I paid a ticket. If I had teh money I would have went to Baltimore and DC show. She is phenomenol, forget all the negative things you heard about her. Bey is a great performer and no one can touch her. I am waiting for the next tour. I am still in awe of what I witness on Sunday at MSG.

In my opinion, Beyonce is still not the best singer in the world and I don’t like all of her songs. But with that being said, I think she is a great entertainer and performer. She does her job by entertaining you and making you dance which makes you not focus on her vocal abilities. right now, she is on top because in the media and income. Right now no other black star is on her level, so congrats to her. Again I’ am not a fan but I believe in giving credit to where it is deserve and Beyonce does deserve it but that is not to say I’ am going to go crazy over everything so does and put out.

I kindly took my “Bougie” ass over and asked them out of respect for the event to go back to the hotel and change, or do not come back and eat my free food with your giftless asses.
