Words are not even good enough to describe Michael Jackson. For 80’s babies like myself, we were born into the era of Michael Jackson when he was already becoming legendary. All we know as it relates to pop icon status is Michael and he has been with us our entire lives. “Thriller” came out the year I was born, and I remember being barely 6 years old running to the tv to sneak and watch the video/mini-movie each and every time they showed it on tv. I was scared out of my mind and had nightmares each and every time I watched it. But I couldn’t stop watching it. It took me a few years to realize Michael himself wasn’t really a zombie vampire–you couldn’t tell me he wasn’t. That’s how compelling he was.
It’s an almost impossible pill to swallow when an era of your life has ended and especially so abruptly. I am a huge advocate of true talent and having a purpose when one has such influential power. MJ was one of the very few who embodied those things. Michael IS the music video era and he IS the definitive example of a pop culture humanitarian icon who has single handedly influenced the entire world. But even though Michael’s gone, we still can remember his sacrifices as a child to give us the music we love and the talent that not one person can or ever will replace.
This post will remain the top story today with a few posts on other news posted beneath it. But for now, we’re posting our favorite videos, favorite pictures, and favorite memories of the King himself. All positive and fabulous energy here:

Random MJ Trivia:
- Favorite superhero: Morph from X-Men
Reason he wore the black arm bands: Symbolizes the suffering of children around the world.
First music video by a black artist on MTV: MJ’s “Billie Jean”
Records sold worldwide: Approx. 750 million (this record number is pretty much untouchable). Thriller alone has sold over 55 million.
Jackson owns a patent for a stage show device that allows him to lean forward and appear to defy gravity.
Favorite fairy tale is Peter Pan as he said he never wanted to grow up.
Despite his limited academic achievements–through benefit concerts and other activities–he donated millions to the United Negro College Fund and founded the Michael Jackson Scholars program.

Fri, June 26, 2009 9:13 AM
I have all the old “Right On” books. I remember the Dec 2 1969 show with the Jackson Five, back then it was a big deal to be African Amercian and be on TV. He really did not fire back at the media with all they said and now there is controversy about his death and it being due to prescription drugs, I am only going to focus on his music and he really had talent and opened the doors for so many people.
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:13 AM
Look at him on the cover of THRILLER. So handsome. I loved the BAD Michael too. I was like 3, in looooove with that BAD cover. Talking bout that’s my boyfriend lol…yeah I was kinda fast

I was 6 when Thriller debuted on MTV. I remember it vividly cuz it was like the Superbowl at my house. My Dad invited all my friends over cuz he had the biggest TV on the block. I remember being scared when the zombies came back from the dead, but that all went away when the dance sequence started. That was and still is the BADDEST choreography and I was absolutely mesmerized from that point on. I played that video over and over and over until I literally popped the tape. To this day I still motion the moves whenever I hear Thriller or watch the video.
Michael Jackson will forever be a symbol for our generation (and others I’m sure). He was the alpha and omega when it came to not only music, but fashion, humanitarian aid (We Are the World comes to mind), and his swagger is lengendary. Rest in peace, Michael – for now you are FREE!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:16 AM

Fri, June 26, 2009 9:16 AM
You have to. The media was very cruel to him and even in his death, they still can’t let the scandal go. That’s why I’m only listening to Black radio and viewing Black blogs. I don’t want to ugly side of MJ. I want to remember his true legacy. His music and his talent.
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:17 AM

I’m still not able to wrap my brain around this. I am sooo blown right now and I’m speechless. I loved MJ. There has never been and will never be anyone like him EVER AGAIN. I just can’t see someone in this day and age being able to sell 750 milion albums. I grew up on MJ. I was almost 2 when Thriller album came out. Thriller used to scare the crap out of me. It makes me sad that my 4 yr old and other children will grow up not realizing just how special MJ was.. R.I.P Michael Jackson. You will forever be missed.
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:27 AM
I am with you Natasha; an 80’s baby that grew up listening to MJ. An incomparable talent; no one will EVER see or come close MJ…EVER! I have way too many favorites to name.
My heart and prayers go out to his family, especially his children. He will definitely be missed; there is a HUGE void in music :(
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:28 AM
Above having talent and being untouchable, the humility this man had in the face of his adversity could teach all of us a few things…
The king will live FOREVER!!!
There are only a few greats and I honestly feel this is the last great of our time and a long time to come!
No one can touch him!!!
VIVA LA MICHAEL JACKSON, THE LEGEND, THE KING!
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:31 AM
Yea Thriller used to scare me too!!! I remember hating the creepy voice of the narrator. I can NOT believe this shit.
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:31 AM
Like many, my heart is aching today. MJ was a part of my life!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:31 AM
UNCF – An Excellent Organization to have Donated to.
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:32 AM
When the Thriller album was out, I was in elementary school. MTV would only show Thriller video after 11pm when it 1st came out and my cousin & I made a pallet on the floor in fron of the TV and stayed up as long as our eyes would let us..lol. We dozed off of course, but when it came on, my Aunt woke us up. I remember being mind-blowed by the video. My favorite part is when the zombies are breakdancing–still is! Michael touched so many folks. So many folks. His music will ALWAYS live on. He is simply THE GREATEST of ALL TIME. I’m so saddened and heartbroken by this.
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:32 AM
This has hit me like a TON of bricks this dammit!!!!! I am TRULY sad today! I’m OUT!
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:33 AM
Man, I’m watching the BAd video. The choreography was sick! Some Westside Story shit…
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:34 AM
This was a beautiful post. I am at work and I’m still in disbelief. I woke up this morning and burst into tears b/c I realized it wasn’t a bad dream. I love Michael Jackson. I’m 35 years old and I can remember my mom playing Off The Wall. He was on the cover of Jet magazine and I was 6 years old and I remember thinking he was so cute, lol. I wanted to marry him when I grew up. I used to pretend he was my boyfriend. I know I’m rambling but I just can’t get my words together. On the bus on the way to work, it was dead silent, everyone was reading the cover stories about Michael Jackson, I saw one woman with tears in her eyes. This really hurts.
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:34 AM
RIP MICHEAL JACKSON
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:34 AM
michael will be missed greatly…i was a 70’s baby so i already know how it is to have had him on the scene and lookign at him on tv plus i had a red jacket…LOL
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:35 AM
typo–looking
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:36 AM
While my parents are around Michael’s age, I’ve been a life-long fan. I was rockin’ the red leather jacket and all. Please believe! Everything he came out with was gold to me.
But it really hit me in 6th grade, when “Remember The Time” came out. When my boy MJ started doing the “Bart Simpson” dance, that was it for me. Hands down, one of the greatest videos ever. And that truly solidified his status in my mind as the greatest that ever did it.
This man revolutionized the face of the music industry. He made the music video what it is today. He influenced musicians from every genre, from every corner of the Earth. And for that he will always be remembered. I hope he finds the peace that he was denied while on this Earth.
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:36 AM
I have not cried yet bc I am still in shock. I was watching BET yesterday and In The Closet came on with Michael and Naomi Campbell, you don’t even know how that and Remember the Time video had me crushing on Mike. I played the mess out of the Dangerous album.
A lot of us grew up with Michael so this loss is like a family member dying; the family member that you did not see often but when that member did come around it was memorable, exciting and left you in awe.
I don’t give a damn about the controversy bc none of us can cast the first stone nor speak on it because we wouldn’t know first hand what it was like for him to grow up in front of hundreds of millions of people (fans and non fans) and not being able to do the normal things we take for granted.
It was sad that he had to isolate himself and was just gearing up to come back for what was deemed the performance of a life time….I have to stop here this ish is getting to me. Bless you Michael and rest in Peace. – akj
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:38 AM
I’m a mess :( RIP MJ
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:39 AM
Wooooow. Tasha has me in tears this morning. That was soo beautiful and well written. You have to agree that this man gave up his CHILDHOOD to give us nothing but pure talent. I love the respect that YBF is showing today and NOTHING but respect for YBF for allowing this to be the TOP post today. IT’S ONLY RIGHT!!!
Tasha, KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO!!!
MICHEAL JACKSON….SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:39 AM
There are no words that can describe how I feel right now, listening to Butterflies, which was a cut from a CD that did not get its recognition!!!! Yes he was an absolute genius and extraordinary person.
I believe that he had a kind heart, soft and wonderful soul that radiated throughout the world. I was always a true fan, and I do believe that God knew this as well and was ready to take the best. Throughout yesterday evening and this morning I learned that even through the tough times and hardships, I too can strive for greatness! Mike was and still is the greatest entertainer of all time.
Listening to all the comments about how he was weird or did weird things, those are the same people that didn’t understand him. You could not place or put Mike in a box. He was like no other. The funny thing is, the people that are out of the box or do not understand are the genius of the world. Mike was eccentric and Gods Child, God had plans for him, he help kids of all ages and felt the need to take care of them, if he could he would have healed the world
So I say, thank you for your eagerness and willingness to help and save the world, with grace and mercifulness.
Thank you for being you.
Jai Fisher
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:40 AM
So not focused on the bullsh*t the mainstream media is focused on. He will NEVER EVER be duplicated. I remember being in my seventh grade class and my teacher letting us watch the premiere of the Thriller video. It was just as important at that time as the space shuttle launch!
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:41 AM
saying that im a Michael Jackson fan is an understatement. I’ve always been an obsessed fanatic of the man. I always felt a connection to him because I felt we had some things in common, from my soft voice, to my childlike qualities and my shyness. He was the one entertainer to inspire me, its because of him that I volunteer. His music helped me through the hardest times in my life. RAINALOVESMJ. Any fans that wanna talk add me to myspace.
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:43 AM
Michael is THE GREATEST entertainer to ever walk the face of this Earth. He has influenced EVERY entertainer since his Jackson 5 days. Michael defined the “IT” factor of the entertainment industry, and he will truly be missed.
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:45 AM
I am right there w/ you as an obsessed fanatic. I loved him. I loved his music. I loved his performances. Inside I feel as if a part of me is gone.
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:46 AM
RIP to MJ…the most famous person ever in this world…no one will be able to come close to replacing him…
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:47 AM
I havent posted in a minute but I had to come and give my thoughts on MJ.
This man changed the way we look at choreography, music and videos.
When he made a video he made a story, a mini movie! There would be no Usher w/o Mike influences.
When he danced it was so fluid and you were like dang how he do that! There would be no Chris B w/o Mike influences.
As much as people have sampled (SWV, Ashanti etc)his sound style and voice..there would be no Neyo w/o his influences.
Not ONLY music this man gave to 39 charities. This man is a true ICON, words cannot express how great this man’s life was! He will be missed! RIP MJ!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:47 AM
Natasha-
You said it perfectly referring to us 80s babies: “an era of your life has ended and especially so abruptly”. I just couldn’t believe it… SMH. Damn, Michael JACKSON?!?
It’s not that you believed that he was beyond human, but when you grow up with such a talented individual, inspirating everyone; grow up trying to moonwalk in a carpeted living room, busting your ass everytime (LOL)… It’s sad to lose that part of the culture, you know?
Everyone who wanted to be a performer and have RIDICULOUS stage presence HAD to live up to Michael Jackson, or at least try to. He’ll never be replaced or forgotten. We’ll always love and respect you Mike.
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:50 AM
Thank you Natasha for doing this tribute post. I am an 80’s baby and MJ was it for me. I came home from a birthday dinner with my new husband to this news and i was just shaken to my core and just started to cry.
I had a huge crush on MJ, i had posters of him on my wall. My dad got me the We are the world LP with the lyrics at the back. Moonwalker and Smooth Criminal and that lean, I was so scared of the thriller video and i remember Beat It and that red jacket. Man in the mirror and images of him in eastern european countries with hundreds of people marching behind him. An MJ concert was the first time i would see people on tv fainting at his concerts….
The influence he had – I am from Nigeria and a lot of people used to assume we were not up to date with world events. Street kids would not know a damned thing about our local governments and policies that affected their lives but they could sing Micheal’s songs and try to moonwalk.
About 4 years ago, rumours went around Lagos about a promoter trying to get MJ to Nigeria and people were already emptying bank accounts to get tickets.
I am so sad that this event happened on my bday, i hope Micheal finds the peace that eluded him here for the past 10 years or so. What will happen to his kids? I am playing all his songs on my ipod at work and i am glued to the various websites for updates….
All the radio stations here are playing his songs and dj’s talking about the impact he had on their choice of careers….
It is a sad sad day for me – and i feel like i have personally lost a member of my family
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:51 AM
SO SAD!! This is a great loss to all. There will Never EVER be another Michael Jackson! RIP and may GOD welcome you HOME!
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:52 AM

Fri, June 26, 2009 9:56 AM
I’m soo numb..its funny cuz I never met him but I feel like a family member has died. I can’t cry..but I damn sure was listening to Kiss FM last night and was dancing to all of his songs..my favorites of all time were:
Lady in My Life (My all time favorite)
Don’t stop till you get enough
Never Can Say Goodbye (I cannot listen to it because I will start crying)
ABC
PYT and Rock with You
There are only so much I can say but Michael..you were a musical and artistical genius and I will NEVER forget you…You made me soo proud to grow up in the 80s and early 90s because I knew what real music was about..Every b-day party I went to..we had the MJ moonwalking and dance contest. I love you..and man..words cannot express the hurt i’m feeling…its harder than when Luther passed…

Never can say Goodbye
I’ll Be there
Got To be There. I am crying
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:58 AM
I absolutely love Michael. My favorite song is “Rock With You.” I have so many great Michael memories. I remember sitting around the TV when his video for “Remember the Time” came on. It took me about 3 days to learn the moves from the video. Michael will be greatly missed.
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:58 AM
Um don’t ya think it’s about time you take down that Spectacular post you have up on the left? It’s kind of distracting and disrespectful. No one wants to see that up all big splattered across their screen. Anyway RIP Michael. People can say what they want but he was the best to ever do it.
Fri, June 26, 2009 9:58 AM
Nice post Tasha. I’m blessed to have grown up listening to his inspirational music. It’s nice to see his transformation as an artist/person over the years. Regardless of everything he experienced, he’s still the best that’s ever done it!!! He never let his personal life interfere with his love of music and his fans. His music and epic videos are all truly untouchable and unforgettable. MJ was an extreme inspiration to everyone. Still, one the greatest of all times and he will truly be missed all around the globe.
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:00 AM

My heart is just broken!! He was the one person who brought families together on one night to watch the world premiere of Thriller!!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:08 AM
Yeah 1983 was my year too Tasha! Thriller was my favorite video for like 10 years!! I will really miss him. I would really like to see Chris Brown give a tribute to him at the BET awards. He did the Thriller rendition best. RIP MJ.

Fri, June 26, 2009 10:10 AM

I’m sad beyond words…he left us too soon.
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:21 AM
I still don’t believe it. I remember saying awhile ago that when this day came (which obviously I thought would be YEARS from now), I’m sure EVERYTHING would come to a halt. And it has come now, but I didn’t see how hard it would hit me. I swear it’s like I lost a family member. I’m so sad right now. I hardly ever watch tv but I will def be tuning in for tributes.
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:22 AM
WOW this is seriously messin with me….also an 80’s baby…MJ was one of “the” ICONS from my era….it makes me more aware of my own mortality…its crazy…He added so much to the world, to the black community beyond all the madness folks want to touch on he was a musical genius, and a legend….he created the soundtrack for folks of my generation….much respect and love to the memory of Michael Jackson.

This is surreal…I’m still shocked. I felt like Michael would be here forever, but then again, the greats always die young. I can’t see Michael as a 90 year old man, he was wayyyyyyyyyyyy too hip and moved to great to be on a cane. RIP MIKE.
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:28 AM
The media killed Mike just like Anna Nicole…I’M PISSED OFF! Why cant people just be themselves? Of course Mike was crazy hell he has been famous since he was 5! Thats a lot of pressure! I love you MJ!

Thriller actually sold over 109 million records and went platinum 28 times.
As for his passing, words cannot express how much that man was loved and admired in every corner of the world. And of course, when you’re holding the top spot, there are always people trying to tear you down. So, haters, we acknowledge you too. His legacy will live on forever. Michael Jackson is and will forever be THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME! We love you, MJ, and you will be greatly missed.
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord! Michael Jackson will live on…
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:30 AM
that gave me chills….

Fri, June 26, 2009 10:30 AM
I believe in KARMA, and to all of those in the media so focused on the negative in his life will be dealt with. They, of course, are mainly white so there is something about being famous and having a white fanbase which is condescending. One minute they love you because of course we as black people have always had so much talent, and they could not believe how empowering he was. Though then when he was accused of something, they were quick to drop him and ridicule him. All to say STAY BLACK people. Some of you may say well black people do that too. But you see none of us are disrespecting his memory like they are.

I’m not one to be Biblical/religious during times like this but you betta PREACH!
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:33 AM
Just like they did Bernie Mac saying he was dead when the man was still alive..so sad. Its the ugliness of being in the public eye
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:33 AM
Thank you!!! I’ll be reading an article on CNN or FOX or MSNBC…and they’ll pay tribute…but it’s like they can’t get to the scandal fast enough…
Yall can call me messy or be mad at me all day…but Farrah was quite notorious for her ‘fast’ ways…but she’s been portrayed as a saint….
As for my beloved MJ….
If he touched them kids…may he burn in a fiery hell…
If he didn’t…I hope he is restin peacefully in God’s arms…
That’s just how I look at it…
And Lawd Jesus…the day R Kelly dies…I will feel so sorry for his family…
The media will slaughter him too :(
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:33 AM
Michael Jackson will definitely be missed. Rest in Peace
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:35 AM
lol. I agree though. A Combination of the media, stress of childhood stars and fraudulent/hurtful lawsuits.
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:35 AM
My gma always says…
“Wont nobody love you like your people. Won’t nobody tear you down like your people. But you ARE your people…so you betta get right or get left…”
And I live by them words….believe that!!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:35 AM
Can’t wrap my mind around this…i can’t….another legend gone….wow…I thank God for Michael Jackson…had there been no Michael there would have been no Neyo, no Chris Brown, no usher, no justin timberlake…all those dudes were heavily inspired by MJ…say what you want but the world of music was blessed by that man’s presence! REST IN PEACE MIKE!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:36 AM
Okay! Why can’t they let Mike be great??!
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:37 AM
umm excuse me why are you using my name? TODAY is not the day to be messing with me! Do you not see the gravi didnt change?! WHATS WRONG WITH YOU. This is the very reason I am not on here anymore!!! Bye ya’ll.
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:37 AM
Girl…how long has it been since Bernie passed?!? And I am still FURIOUS about how the media did him :(
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:40 AM
I think this is great that you will keep it your top story and post underneath it. What a great way to tribute.
And God bless anybody who posts negative comments they are just haters. RIP Michael.
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:40 AM
indeed!
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:41 AM
oh wow….
for real?!?
“just beat it…beat it beat it beat it!!!”
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:41 AM
“Rock with You” is my absolute favorite song too :-(
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:42 AM
Im in here blasting my History cd and my boss came by and peeped into my office with a face like are you serious? I looked and her and said Look, when Elvis and John Lennon died i’m sure you were hurt. Please give me my time for Mike. Thanks!. She closed my door…LOL!
^
Ok, Mike ! I cant be getting fired behind your ass!
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:42 AM
Can y’all imagine the music that’s gonna come out posthumously? I heard he recorded like close to 100 songs for each album. They’ll be new MJ shit for years
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:43 AM
I can’t even begin to desribe the shock that I am in over the death of Micheal Jackson. I don’t have a favorite song to put down cauSe there are to many to count. I do however have a favorite video which would have to be remember the time. The visual effects in that video paved the way for the crazy things that Busta and Missy went on to do in theirs. Micheal paved the way for so many the first having to be Wierd Al Yankovic…where would he have been without I’m Fat. Mike influenced the dancing of Usher, Chris Brown, Ginuwine, Ciara, Beyonce, Omarion. He was the ultimate humanitarian and entertainer. Always imitated never will or can be duplicated….RIP MICHAEL JACKSON
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:44 AM
I can’t take it right now. I don’t know anyone not affected by this. You are a fool if you say that you have one favorite Michael song. It’s no way in the world could u bring mick’s greatness to one song. I WILL NEVER FORGET U MICHAEL JACKSON….THE BEST THAT EVER DID IT!!!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:45 AM
My top 5 MJ faves:
Can’t help it
Rock with you
Smooth Criminal
Remember the Time
Scream
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:45 AM
I DIDN’T THINK I WAS GONNA CRY….. BUT I AM
RIP MJ
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:45 AM
Girl you betta let them know. Michael was our Elvis. Hell, he was bigger than Elvis! They betta recognize the greatness, for real.
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:47 AM
THERE IS NO ONE TO COMPARE HIM TO. ELVIS WHO?
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:49 AM
i miss michael so much, most of the times he looks so unhappy and lonely. i still cant believe he´s gone. its a strange day, sometimes it , just hit me, and then i think today, today we lost MJ.
love you michael, RIP
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:49 AM
Agreed. This Hispanic woman…in the lobby of a building…stopped me and asked if I was ok cuz I looked out of it…I told her I would live. She said she felt that way about Selena. I stood there thinkin ‘Maaaannnn…aren’t we some stereotpyes this mornin?!?’ LOL. She gave me a hug and we parted ways…I think every culture has that fallen icon…that allows them to relate…but I’ve always thought Michael is, arguably, an ICON to damn near everbody :)
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:50 AM
I actually like the Beatles. I have a few of their cds but they werent from “my” time. Half of them were dead by the time I knew their music. If Prince kicks the bucket…who do we have left? And dont yall DARE say Beyonce! I’m fighting today behind that shit for real…
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:53 AM
@ INSERT…AGREED. If yall listen to they dont care about us or the earth song…mike was hurting man. It’s blatant that he was going through a lot. Listen to the words…so sad. No human being should have to be judged to death! Literally.
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:54 AM
@ insert witticism
So true. I was watching his videos on Youtube and scanning over the comment section. There were condolences in so many languages. People from all over the world loved him. I’m sure you could go to any corner of this earth and play “Thriller” and people would dance and sing, with no hesitation.
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:56 AM
Oh girl don’t even put that into the universe! But I do know that if I ever get an opportunity to Prince, I’m going. I don’t care if I have to ask for donations to get a damn ticket lol
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:58 AM
Hadnt thought of that….damn…he really was judged to death :(
Fri, June 26, 2009 10:59 AM
Hello everyone,
I never have posted any comments on this site before; however, this is one occasion that all regularities must be broken. Michael Jackson was and is my idol. I liked is music, videos, and most of all performances. He was THE ENTERTAINER!!! There is no other. He was talented and unique. He was himself. Though he may have faced a number of legal issues over the last few years, his musical catolog cannot be denied. I hope that he finally gets to rest in peace.
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:00 AM
Its so sad. I feel like a peice of my childhood is gone… im still in shock hoping this is another Tupac thing and that he is living but tired of being under the spotlight.. (Big dream)… I hope C.B does the tribute on him because i remember when he performed years back on B.E.T because MJ cancelled he had days to perform but he was amazing. Almost like MJ himself although no one can compare
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:01 AM
I dare somebody…red and yella, black and white to hear Thriller and not have SOME sort of reaction! And I DARE a negro to hear that first note of Thriller and not think ‘Awwwww shiiiittt’
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:01 AM
did u really say that!
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:02 AM
Amazing. Incomparable. Incredible. Once a LIVING LEGEND. Michael Jackson IS music. Every artist from gospel to country has been influenced, even in its smallest portion, by Michael Joseph Jackson. Tasha, I concur with everything you said. I remember being terrified of the zombies as well, but like you, I couldn’t stop watching. I am known for being very defensive and a big fan of MJ. Even through all his legal woes. I never turned my back on him. I am proud to have known his music before it became HIStory, because I believe people in that era know what real music is, thanks in part to Michael. Like one of the previous posts, although I’ve never met him, or never seen him in concert (those tickets sells sold FAST), I feel like I’ve lost a family member. I grew up on Michael, and when I found out that he was rushed to the hospital, before his untimely death, I felt like someone hit me in my chest hard. I couldn’t breathe.
As I sat and watched CNN, I wondered, like someone before me, why they couldn’t finally let him have his peace. We know that Michael was a troubled man, who sometimes didn’t make the right choices, but who among us has? If you want to talk about his addiction and abuse of drugs, fine, but 10 minutes after he’s pronounced dead?! Show some respect to him, his family and fans. As for that paramedic (I think) that took a picture of MJ while they were trying to save his life….shame on you. You’re a sick bastard for taking advantage of this opportunity because you know it would make you money, while a man lies there and dies. I hope it’s worth it. I just ask that Michael finally gets the peace that eluded him while he was here on Earth.
His music was and still is iconic. His creativity was beyond that of any person to ever walk the planet, and he showed us, his fickle fans, his “brothers and sisters” of the Black race, as well as the rest of the world, how to love unconditionally, no matter your color. MJJ, you are truly missed, I hope the angels have welcomed you in and you’re teaching them how to truly “moonwalk”.
“…they got some crazy little women there and I’m gonna get me one.” I love you MJ.
BTW, let’s not forget the other two legends that passed this week as well. Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon. And @jadore, that 25th day is quite eerie.
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:02 AM
I hope he is at peace too…
And DO comment more often…
We don’t bite…hard
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:04 AM
MJ was the G.O.A.T.
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:05 AM
I still have tears in my eyes over this. I am so sick of white people wanting to harp on the bad about him. RIP Michael Joseph Jackson- may you get the peace in death that you didn’t get in life………
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:07 AM
Michael made every chick feel like she was a “Pretty Young Thang” that he wanted to love. He wanted to take ya there yall. LOVES HIM.
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:09 AM
Daaang…they already started the autopsy…
I really hope it wasn’t an accidental OD on Demerol…
:(
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:10 AM
Im sorry, that beat in the beginning of rock with you makes me dance every time. lol
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:12 AM
HEY EVERYONE!! Just found out from a relative in the industry and attending the BET awards that they are adding a tribute to him in the show, and Chris Brown and a few others will be in it. Chris Brown is the only one that imitates him PERFECTLY to me. Cannot wait now.
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:13 AM
They’re looking for this freaking doctor and he’s no where to be found. Sketchy…(Donda West case all over again)..these “doctors”. Supposedly he was given a demerol shot that was too much at 11:30
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:14 AM
Yeah I mean that was a given…And yes Chris is the best out of Usher, JT, Ginuwine, etc.
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:14 AM
Now everytime I hear a MJ song there’s going to be such sadness attached to it because he’s dead! I just wanna stop crying.
I found out when I was in the gym while it was playing on one of the tv’s behind me. I swear, when they said he was dead I had to hold myself back from spazzing the fuck out. I wasnted to scream at everyone “GET OFF THEM GOT DAMN TREADMILL! DON’T YOU SEE MICHEAL IS DEAD?”
I can not, can NOT stop crying…..
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:14 AM
woww…some people are a lil too creative

I agree. I was actually hoping they wouldnt get Usher. Say what you want about Chris, but you can tell MJ was his IDOL. I am totally looking forward to his performance.
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:16 AM
I damn near crashed when they said it on the radio…[sigh]
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:16 AM
Michael is simply one of the best (entertainers) we’ve ever had…
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:20 AM
I saw on the internet that TMZ reported it. I got mad, I was like how dare they say that b/c no one else was reporting it.
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:20 AM
I love Michael and always have, it’s as if it was innate… I can remember being held captive by his Remember the Time video when I was younger, I was mesmerized… We have the same birthday and I will forever miss him, only God can give me joy for my mourning today…
But Blessed are those that mourn, for they shall be comforted…
You guys please remember Michael for his love, sincerity, his fun-loving personality, fearlessness, sweet smile, and how he was so gracious, simply royalty. Also remember we loved him so we will be hurting but God will make it all right… We’ll always have those special times to remember. Some of us didn’t know how to treat this man but God has him now so he’s in the best place ever, he’s in the very presence of love and peace.
Mike, it seems like you are gone too soon, my heart is heavy and and I will forever miss you but I will rejoice because you now rest in God’s arms…
I love you Michael.
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:22 AM
Yeah I know, but I was just telling someone that I wished they would. I was just excited that’s all. I wasn’t too happy about how long it took BET to get with it b/c MTV was on their stuff. Like ASAP.
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:27 AM
Loves it!
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:27 AM
Love it
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:27 AM
Yea that’s what my friend was saying. BET was playing some stupid ass movie instead. Regardless of who owns BET now, that station is soooo shameful and they truly proved it yesterday.
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:28 AM
Thriller actually sold almost double that 100-105 million were the estimated totals. He couldn’t be touched… So Sad about this
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:28 AM
Love it
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:28 AM
Yes…NO ONE can do a Michael Jackson tribute like Chris Brown!
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:29 AM
Damn, that ish fu*ked me up. I wanted to cry.. Man, I love Michael Jackson – will NEVER be another genius more talented than him.. EVER.. much love
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:29 AM
My favorite MJ songs are:
1. You are Not Alone—love love love love love that song!!
2. Billie Jean
3. Smooth Criminal
4. Rock My World–me and my freshman college roommate used to do the dance to this one
5. They Don’t Care About Us
I love you MIKE and you will be truly missed…
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:30 AM
That damn Dr. had him working & was “working” on him for 45 damn minutes, precious moments & time lost when they shoulda brought his azz to thehospital so they could’ve used the defibrillator on him & zap him back – i hope his conscience kills him & he commits suicide
R.I.P. Michael
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:30 AM

i spoke too soon bout that damn server error :(
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:35 AM
I am still numb, speechless and just in a daze…
I remember when Thriller used to come on MTV every hour on the hour and me and my cousin used to memorize the dance steps….
I remember watching Motown 25 the Billie Jean performance and when he did the moonwalk we damn near lost our minds…
My prayers are with his children, family and fans….
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:35 AM
I hate how people glorify others after they die. He was a PEDOPHILE. One less child molester in the world. Lots of talent, but that’s about it
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:38 AM
anyone know the name of the kicks that MJ has on in the first pic?
Lotta ppl frontin on Mike, every and i mean every even barack cant front. Every single mofo did the moonwalk as a kid, you could be racist as hell. You still tried to pop that move so dont even front. You stand in the mirror and you drag ya butt backwards thinking you nice. Mike inspired everybody. As for Elvis, he was nice back in his day. He aint no Mike cuz everybody listened to MJ at least once in they life…aint nobody was messin with Elvis like that. Stop comparing Mike; aint nobody in his league regardless. Not even 5 leagues below him..i mean 750 million copies sold?! Seeing that today sucess is measured by record sales…everyone else would be sh!t compared to MJ. Aint nobody even halfway close to that figure.
All im saying you aint gotta love him but dont front; keep the negative..simply say RIP and keep it movin if you aint being positive.
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:39 AM
And you know he was a pedophile because you were in the room when he was “allegedley” mosleting the kids right?
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:40 AM
I will never forget where I was when I heard the news that Michael had passed away. I was at the shoe store and when the guy told me, I said stop lying. I was about to get mad and start arguing with this guy. As I was checking out my dad had called me and said have you heard the news. I said if you talking about Michael Jackson I said yes. Still not believing what I was hearing I called my mother and she said yes its true. My heart sunk to my stomach. This just can’t be. Michael has and still will be an inspiration to the music world and every little boy and girl who has dreams to be a performer. I still can’t believe the King of Pop is gone. Rest In Peace Michael. My prayers go out to his family and I am so sorry for the loss.
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:40 AM
I know girl. I was so out of it and was still so pissed at them at the same time. They have truly fallen off. It’s disgusting.
@sheyshey Quit trying to get people stirred up today. You better hope someone speaks highly of you when you pass. Now go pray.
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:40 AM
People remark on the influence he had on the culture…
Praising and glorifying are not synonymous…
I can not tell you he DID NOT molest those kids…just like..
You can not tell me he DID molest those kids…
I was not there and neither were you…
I would’ve had more respect for you if you didn’t come up in here soundin like a complete ass…
You are a bitch!
See?
Just because that’s my opinion…that doesn’t make it the truth…
See the connection??
Peace and blessins ;-)
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:42 AM
I love MJ. im so Glad they’ll have CB doing the tribute… He was excellent the last time…
He’s had a hard break like the rest because the white media loves seeing a good high profiled black performer go through shit and will bring them through fire and only when their on the brink of death or die talk about how great they are… When we knew from time.. although MJ had so many allegations and legal trouble no one could deny how great of a performer he was… Music at the end of the day is why we loe him so much.. Hope CB will get a little break.. before this shit all happen i thought CB would be the MJ for now and future generations because he was so talented and promising.. but guess black people cant get cut no slack… R.I.p. MJ.. love you so much.. always loved never forgotten
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:42 AM
I wish him dead! I do! He should take Michael’s place…… :(
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:42 AM
I feel like I’m in a dream, I know we all felt like Michael wasn’t human because of his Talent and the way he was loved by many. I grew up with him and he was the first time I was obsessed with an artist. I feel heartbroken for myself, his family especially the kids and of course his fans. I love you Michael may you rest in peace. I never thought I would say that, R.I.P
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:43 AM
I was watching the Today Show earlier and Meredith interviewed a man by the first name of Brian, who claimed to be the Jackson family atty. He goes on and on saying he was telling people MJ was popping pills and he needed to be watched. They went back to New York and there was another guy sitting with Matt and told him that man was a fraud, was not employed by the Jackson family and told who his real atty was. Shut his shit down. Matt looked uncomfortable as hell. WOMP WOMP…
They’re all going to come out the woodworks now….
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:45 AM
I know exactly how you feel. And I keep hearing “You are not alone” on the radio and waterworks commence!
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:46 AM
I am glad people are remembering his music, his art because that’s shows just how much of a legend he was. He is one of the reasons why I love music and entertainment today. In fact, right now, I am listening to Off the Wall. He was such a genius and I am a 70s baby but was a child when Off the Wall and Thriller came out. You just had to live it to know just how much a phenomenon he was. It didn’t matter what culture, race, gender and background, he spoke to you through his music and brought people together with it. And the sad part was, he was going to do an album this year and tour also. But as sad as this day is, let’s instead celebrate his life and what he meant to us everywhere. I pray for the Jackson family and all his other loved ones.

You know, before this happened I wondered how in the world could people feel the way they do about Elvis Presley. That man just can’t rest in peace because he’s loved so much. Now, after the death of Michael Jackson, I understand. I really didn’t think I would take this this hard but my heart is still heavy. RIP Michael, no worries, no pain, no allegations or accusations; those that are still here on earth are the ones that’s suffering, not you. Not anymore.
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:47 AM
whaaaat????
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:49 AM
Brian Oxman is who ur talking about, he was at one the Family Attorney. He was there during that whole trial in 05. Love ur gravitar. Girl looking at these are making me true mess.
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:50 AM
If u remember that we must be in the same age group. Me & my childhood friend had EVERY Right On! Michael/Jackson 5 posters taped to our walls…We used to argue about which one of us was gonna marry Michael… That Dating Game picture of Michael and some girl? – I cut that girl’s picture out and replaced her with one of my pictures. You couldn’t tell me that wasn’t ME in that picture with Michael!
His music was truly the soundtrack to my life. At Summer Daycamp we sang Jackson 5 songs after Pledge of Allegiance. I went to college with Off The Wall. Nursed my first daughter watching premiere of Thriller. Danced around the room with my babies singing Lady in My Life…on & on… I KNOW it’s true for you too!
Today I changed my ringtones to all MJ. :)
Only thing got me to sleep last nite was praying for him to be at Peace.Finally. and praying his children arent caught up in some terribly ugly custody battle.
Tryna get it together right now-my sis-n-law in ATL wants me to hang out with her for her birthday tonite. Now ya KNOW the DJ will only play Michael Jackson! I’ma try to celebrate his music and honor his life tonite.
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:52 AM
I have lost so much respect for that Nancy Grace chick!
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:53 AM
I was born in 1986 and I LOVED MJ!!!!I rememebr being young and LOVING the Thriller video. TRUST and believe I wore Black shoes and socks!!!!He was the KING of POP!!!!When Smooth Criminal came I was BLOWN away!!!I LOVED the movie and watched the Jackson 5 movie at least once a YEAR!!!Once I get like $200 I am going to go buy the albums I don’t have because I know the price went up!!!I pray for his kids and his family!!!!I am sure NO Mother and Father wants to burry there child. I especially know Janet is hurting because MJ and Janet said they where the closest!!!God bless the Jackson Family and ESPECIALLY his Kids!!!
P.S. I am SOOOO Pissed at ET how dare they put that pic of him in the ambulance up this man has a family and MOST of all little children. I wouldn’t want to remember my dad like that!!!!The media needs to have RESPECT for this mans FAMILY!!!He deserves that much!!!R.I.P. MJ U WERE/R LOVED!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:55 AM
NICE :)
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:56 AM
I still can’t believe he is really gone. My mom told me he had a heart attack, but I didn’t want to believe it because I thought it was a rumor. But my mom came running to my room and she said that it was true and that he was gone. I wasn’t born in the 80’s, but I like his music. My mom and dad grew up listening to him and I did too. We have really lost a true icon. I can’t even stop crying. It is so unreal. My prayers goes out to his family. R.I.P Michael Jackson. You will be truly missed!!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:56 AM
Yes that’s his name!!! Yesterday when he was bumping his gums I knew something wasn’t right with him…he was talking too much, real messy like. Meredith interviewed him live in LA and they shot back to Matt and some man SHUT IT DOWN QUICK!!! I watch the Today Show every morning and I cant remember when they did a live broadcast PST. It’s always taped!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:57 AM
Why did they just play Gone too Soon by MJ? They killin me over here. Its just sadness all through my office. I work with 90% blk people and even the clear people jammin to Mike
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:57 AM
he is the one artist who has transcended age, gender, race, class, nationality, etc. there will NEVER be another artist like him. i wonder if artists today realize how trite and insignificant their music is. i think of mike’s songs and what they play on the radio now, and there is no comparison. mike built a legacy that will live on. he was a gift and i’m thankful to have been born early enough to be able to really enjoy and appreciate his talent. my best memory of mike and his music is of my family and friends dancing and singing “Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough” at my wedding last fall. God bless him and his family.
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:58 AM
what has she been saying?
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:59 AM
awwwww.. *tear*
Fri, June 26, 2009 11:59 AM
Top 5 MJ videos (not including Thriller cuz that’s a given):
Scream – loved seeing him and baby sister jammin and sayin “fuck yall” together
Dirty Diana – my inner freak was revealed with that video. Yeah I was only like 4, and? lol
Remember the Time – Aw man. The cameos, the choreography, the setting. Bangin’
Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough – Just MJ doin what he do best
Leave Me Alone – That’s when I really felt Michael’s pain. I had his back on that.
RIP Mike…
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:00 PM
what did she say?
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:01 PM
did she say something bad about Michael? You know she has no tact.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:01 PM
She used to talk so wreckless about him during his trial!!!
Had the nerve to say he was only acquitted because of his celebrity status and the fact he had some great attorneys.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:02 PM
R.I.P MJ as well…. Elvis was nothing compared to M.J. although i liked a few of his songs. the ones i did like from Elvis were the ones he stold from black artists. he wasnt authentic he stole our moves our music and we made Elvis big. Not to mention apparently he only wore black shoes because he thought black people were beneath him and i heard he was a serious racist (although im not sure) but still he wasnt shit to MJ.. R.I.P. MICAEL JACKSOM
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:03 PM
I haven’t watched the BET awards in some years, but I will be watching Sunday. I heard Stephen Hill on Tom Joyner and he said that the show will run longer and the performers started on their tributes as soon as they heard the news.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:06 PM
Natasha, THANK YOU for dedicating today to the Greatest Entertainer in the WORLD! I know your generation only has small (and maybe insignificant) memories of MJ, but in my generation, he was what our childhood/teenage years were about. In my day, you could not walk down the street without seeing or hearing the influence of MJ–whether it was music blowing out of stereos at family barbeques or kids walking around with a red Beat It jacket (real leather or plastic).
I just hope that the younger generation pay homage and show respect to MJ for all that he has done for the music industry and pop culture. MJ demanded that MTV played his Thriller video because back then, there was a “No Blacks” allowed policy on MTV. Without MJ, there would be no Usher, Beyonce, or anyone other Black cross-over pop star w/o him.
He will be truly missed. RIP.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:06 PM
A whole lot of nothing! Basicly just talking about the mollestation case and thats not even the big damn picture right now.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:06 PM
That’s so true. That’s why I think that MJ is waaaay better than Elvis. MJ was inspired by Jackie Wilson and James Brown, but he used that inspiration to originate his own style. And I hate to talk ill about the dead but Elvis was just a straight thief.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:06 PM
Not your inner freak at four!!! LMAO
I watched Remember the Time video last night several times and Fatima Robinson did the damn thing with the choreography in that one!!!
Remember In the Closet video w/Naomi Campbell?? He had me kinda moist with that one…
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:09 PM
Yea I remember that. I can’t really do her. She could have had some more respect. As well as some other people. People are about to capitalize on Michael now and its sad
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:11 PM
Co-sign, Co-sign and Co-sign!! Ummmmm Michael had true sex appeal with video!! lol
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:15 PM
Not trying to sound or be negative but I was just wondering what did Micheal do for the black community? I am 22 so I didn’t really grow up in the micheal era. I was looking through a slide show with all of his pictures from when he was a kid to now and I just see him striving to be a white person all of his life. Again i’m not trying to be negative I just want a better understanding.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:15 PM
Goodbye Michael, you was and are one of the best artist ever.I’m so sad to hear of your death and i pray for your kids that they end up in good hands, cuz i know much you loved them and for your family and fans. I will remember you as you was a great artist and a man with a big heart. I’m sorry for what you had to support, just due to some of those who said they loved you but wanted to be rich made a slave out of you when you was a child and the white media, for all their ignorancy and fear about a black man been so successful and powerfull and to said so many lies about you. Eveybody make mistake along their lifes and who not should throw the first stone, but i still don’t believe lot of things they says, because no matter if you MJ you would have gone to jail and parents wouldn’t shut up for a couple dollars, they just wanted him down and in the sugar cane field or cotton field.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:16 PM
Michael Jackson is one of the very few black artists who have touched the hearts of all nationalities, age groups, races, cultures, religions, music genres, he was the best at what he did! It pains me to see how some parts of the media are treating this! Fact is, this man will be the best selling artist of all time FOREVER! No one will reach his level of fame, success, or the amount of hearts he touched! I still dont want to believe he has passed on, I want to believe this is all a bad dream or an awful joke! The fact that he touched so many peoples lives not only through his music but other ways is something wonderful! I remember having a CRAZY crush on him when “Black or White” came out! My fave album tho, is Off the Wall!! As for Nancy Grace, her ass will rot in hell because she is trash and so will TMZ and their rude commentors! TMZ cant even respect the family enough to let them drive away from the hospital in peace! The laid on his mother and Latoyas car to take pics of them while they are grieving hen had the nerve to post them on their website!! SMH…. Mike, your legacy, your vision, your music, your story will continue to live on through all of your family, music, family, and children!! R.I.P.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:17 PM
I haven’t watched it since James Brown received the lifetime achievement award and Mike came out on stage…
It was a wrap!! I had lost my mind once again!! I used to Stan for this man. I have a 200 page scrapbook with clippings..and I’m 34 yrs old…so you know that I have a whole lot of things…lol
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:17 PM
damn I can’t stop crying…..
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:19 PM
Michael Jackson did tons and tons of charity work, he was the first black to be played on MTV and he is a crossover artist! This is not something to take and run with racially!!! He crossed over to all cultures! Why does it matter what he did for one race when he did so much for EVERY RACE AND CULTURE! Seriously, go google him if you felt that way! Keep it positive her!
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:19 PM
very sad day yesterday…even my 8 yr old was touched..radio sucks so michael and stevie are what we listen to..before i could even say it, she said she wanted to only listen to him while she showered and whatnot. i cried-she cried…damn
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:19 PM
*here
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:19 PM
You know what i hate th fact that Michael J and those of his ime worked so damn hard to be in the music industry. Couldnt work at certain venes bcause he was black, had to perform only on certain sides, blood swat and tears were put forth to have a succesful career and now any joe blow can be artist talented or not. The rih Rih’s Tpains and all these so called celebrities cant even right their own damn music or have a decent voice and use instuments… Thats why music aint shi these days anyone can be an artist and those with actual talen are passng away leaving only thei legacy and untouchable music… I use to hate Beyonce thought she was so overrated and annoying up until today but i realized she works her tail off falls off the stage bu will jump right back up and keep it going.. has a beautiful voice her dad was a bast over worked her like MJ’s dad but still she rise and kept it together and has talent that i can rspect even though i dont like her music o much… we need more talented artist hopefully the whole world and artist will be moved by his sadness and step their game up. R.I.P. Michael you were and still are the best their is
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:19 PM
Watching Earth Song right now…I am sad for his family and all of us that miss him, but I am happy he doesn’t have to deal with the drama on this Earth that we do…he is shining brighter than he ever could here.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:21 PM
*hugs*
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:21 PM
MJ donated millions to the UNCF and had scholarship programs. These are the things left out by the media. They’re so busy trying to tarnish his image, they neglect to focus on the humanitarian that he was. I’m young too but sometimes it takes more than listening to CNN and these other news outlets to get the truth. And I don’t think he was trying to be white. He just wanted to be Mike. You should really read more about him and take a good look at his history because he’s been through alot in his life. Enough to drive a person into depression and loss of identity.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:23 PM
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:24 PM
In total agreement, I lost total respect for Nancy Grace last night. I don’t understand the need for anyone to tear someone down after they have passed. As for hearing of his death, I started screaming and crying. I’ve never met him, but was born in 1968, grew up on his music. Michael was my first crush. My cousin and I played make believe games about him being our boyfriend, lol. RIP Michael.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:25 PM
To Ms. Real:
And since I’m sure you probably can appreciate MTV as a source, there’s a link to MJ receiving a humanitarian award in my name.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:26 PM
R.I. P. Michael Jackson. Gone, but never forgotten. Talent too great for words. I <3 you! Prayers out to all the Jackson family.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:26 PM
and lets add he was THE FIRST PERSON EVER to cross racial divides the way he did. to the person who asked…he was a humanitarian..HEAL THE WORLD…remember that?
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:27 PM
I was watching ABC’s tribute to Michael Jackson last night and there was a clip of Barbara Walter’s interview with him and she asked him about being called “Wacko Jacko”. His response was “That’s not nice. I have feelings, I have a heart. That’s just not right for ppl to call me that.” I have never in my life felt such hurt and pain for anyone person. *crying and listening to You Are Not Alone*
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:27 PM
U know, she almost died having her twins…with her old ass…some people really need to hold their tongue…never know when He will call u up!
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:27 PM
Child!! WHY di you respect that trashy bigot in the first place?! I’m still sad. :-( :-( :-(
I hate crying!! I always knew he would leave but not so soon!!! I’m soooo sad. I refuse to turn on the tv or radio still. It hurst so much.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:29 PM
Okay! Nuff said…and to her again, my name as a link to all the charities MJ donated his millions to.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:30 PM
OH MICHAEL!!! damn this hurts
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:31 PM
I woke up this morning after having a terrible nightmare! Only to find out it was true, I still can’t believe it!
R.I.P Michael Jackson THE ONE, THE ONLY, TRUE ENTERTAINER OF MY TIME!!!!
My hearts hurts a lot right now!!!*tears*
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:31 PM
I can’t get that song out of my head. That’s the first video I saw yesterday of him!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:31 PM
Exactly!!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:32 PM
I was watching ABC’s tribute to Michael last night and they had a clip of the interview with Barbara Walters back when. She asked him about being called “Wacko Jacko”. His response: “That’s not nice. I have a heart. I have feelings. People don’t understand that I have feelings too.” I have never felt sooo much hurt and pain for a person than I did last night. The media really did portray him to be a monster. But deep down we all (and they do too) that he was THE BEST. Hands down.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:32 PM
Thank you very much for repsonding to my question. I guess it is hard to know the positives about a person when all you hear on the media is the negatives. Is good to hear that he was not just one of those celebrities who didn’t give a damn about his peoples or those who were less fortunate. Thanks again.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:32 PM
More honest words could not be spoken in regards to this matter! He pushed an pushed for the things that now come as luxuries to many celebs! Not just michel but so many other artists had to wrk to play in white places, to have their music heard on radio, to have their video played on tv stations! You are very right!
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:34 PM
You ain’t never lied!!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:37 PM
Girl you are not the only person who asked me that question! I don’t even know why but she won’t get any more ratings out of me!
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:39 PM
No sorry. I grew up without cable/radio all of that stuff. I didn’t know what BET was until 1999. Straight up! By the time I got into music and watching videos it was Jay-z, etc. My knowledge on Michael is limited.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:39 PM
I didnt even know that!! And did’nt Tameka Foster almost die from Cardiac Arrest????? And that was on the operating table! They both need to count their blessings.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:40 PM
You’re so welcome. It really is up to us to celebrate his legacy properly because we obviously can’t rely on the media to do it. I’m glad I could help you out
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:43 PM
A friend told me he loved Michael so much that when he was little he took one of his Mother’s white usher gloves and went and broke a clear soda bottle into pieces, and glued them on the glove!! Took it to school the next day and got into trouble because they said it was a weapon!!
That’s much love… I would’ve never thought of something like that…lol
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:44 PM
BET’s 106 n Park was playing all MJ videos since they heard of Michael’s death…MTV was still playing “16 and pregnant” I have no idea what you guys are talking about.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:45 PM
Damn…. that made me cry….I can hear him saying that! *shedding tears*
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:45 PM
i am not an emotional person..but damn, reading all the things ya’ll are saying (which mimic what i feel) and knowing that most days this site is filled with hateful words and fighting…i’m about to cry…again
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:46 PM
Oh i am so sad.
Oh i am so sad.
Words cannot describe how much MJ’s music touched my life
He was pure genius and an extraordinary man
He will forever be the GREATEST
RIP Michael
We will love you forever
Kudos to YBF for such a great tribute to THE LEGEND
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:47 PM
You can just hear his soft child like voice saying that! He broke my heart so much in some of those interviews
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:49 PM
Right!! So much cultural and racial diversity came from one man! i remember We are the world! ….
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:52 PM
Loved your reply!! Pure genious!
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:52 PM
yes ma’am…. I remember that interview that one british reporter did on him in 2003… he disrespected Michael on so many levels through that entire documentary!! He never lost his cool, however you could hear in his tone of voice that he was deeply hurt! I know he didnt touch those children! Michael never had a childhood… he just wanted children to live a life full of things he always wanted to do as a child! Maybe some things he did were questionable but his passion behind everything he did made your forget that and dig deep into his soul!
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:52 PM
YEA HOURS LATER!! We checked the station and they had this movie playing “Can’t knock the hustle” or some shit like that. THEN they probably started playing stuff in memorium of Micheal but they did NOT at first!
I wouldn’t know since I rarely watch that sambo-soup channel.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:55 PM
Words can not express the deep sense of grief I feel today. I was in shock and disbelief yesterday.I am truly a huge Michael Jackson fan. I too am a 80s baby who grew up idolizing him.I raised my daughter to be a fan so imagine the feeling I had trying to explain it to her yesterday.I know people joke and play but this is truly a tremendous lost for the world.Michael Joseph Jackson was the most talented human being on earth. He had a gift that is unable to be duplicated by anyone, ever. He personified a culture, a lifestyle,an era. He will forever be the best entertainer in history. Michael will truly be missed. I weep as I type this. RIP Michael, we will mourn and celebrate you
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:56 PM
sorry to hear that…b/c unfortunately when you were introduced to music…it was trash. no man has ever brought people together the way he did. so you don’t even have the memories of people just passing out on sight of him…and i mean massive amounts of people. there are very few true icons…but this man was one in every country of the world.
Fri, June 26, 2009 12:57 PM
Where do I began, I can’t…
My heart, prayers & love goes out to the Jackson family, especially to Michael’s kids & his mom. I am a mother myself, so I can only imaging how she feels on loosing her baby & having to bury him!
He was and will ALWAYS be the greatest, other claim to be. He is untouchable, everything he touched turned to gold.
Bless you Michael; you are in a better place….
We Love You!
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:00 PM
“All i want to say is that they don’t really care about us!”
Michael is a legend. His music will always be recognized. Such a sad day in music.
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:04 PM
nope…MTV had a much better tribute–your guide said 16 and pregnant—neither that nor the real world showed–it was an MJ tribute…and yes, BET’s tribure paled in comparison…pissy with BET….big ups to Sway at MTV…man could barely speak at times cause the tears were coming. Same for Fat Joe and Timbaland who they called and spoke to
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:04 PM
this is such a beautiful tribute. thank you for sharing. RIP Michael. we love you!
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:08 PM
maybe Im reaching…. Im 22 as well and I am a very cultured person, especially when it comes to music! I can listen to the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Prince, Janet Jackson, Bob Marley, The Fray, Kanye West, Common, ect…. I think its all about opening your mind to something that is different than this MESS they try to call music! I lesten to the old Whitney I listen to the new Whitney… I may have only grown up when his album Dangerous came out but I know him back when he was starting out with The Jackson 5! I agree with you! Michael crossed and reached so many different people! Im glad I was able to learn so mucha bout him and his music while he was living! I just wish I had the opportunity to see him live in concert! I heard it is the most amazing thing ever!!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:12 PM
I remember that. Martin Bashir! Shoulda been Martin Bastard! He was trying so hard to make Michael Jackson look bad. And that interview was the one that started that whole case in 05. I remember when it first aired they showed that little boys face but after that it was blurred out. The little boys family was trying to extort money out of Michael. I dont beleive for one minute he EVER touched a child in a bad way. Macauly Caulkin even said things like that never happend when he was with Michael!
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:15 PM
1** BEAT IT
2** BAD
3** LIBERIAN GIRL

Fri, June 26, 2009 1:17 PM
Wow where do I begin….I was driving when I heard the news and I got goose bumps. I am the biggest MJ I know, lol. I still can’t believe it and when I do think about it, tears come to my eyes. The media is really upsetting me, regardless of what people believed his life to be, his gone now. Where is the respect for human life. Everyone is threating this like its another proformance. I truely believe MJ was a gift from God to the world. How can one person touch so many people, and cause the same emotional reaction. God called his son home yesterday becuase we were not taking proper care of him and lost sight of his great creation. RIP MJ….its bitter sweet, I am happy becuase now you finally have peace, but you will missed!
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:29 PM
LOL…thanks!
I keep comin back to see if she posted anything else…and still readin everybody else’s comments…
Daaang yall…I feel like my spirit is broken…
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:34 PM
my heart is still broken… words cannot describe this pain… cannot describe the last true icon of all music is gone
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:35 PM
First off .. f**k the media! Michael was acquitted so why are they harping on the trial, his finances, etc is beyond me. If riding in limos, living in a millionare dollar home and still eating considered “broke” then PLEASE let me have some …. and a big f**k you to ET for publishing that picture of him. Show some damn respect people!
Anyway .. Michael your legacy will live on FOREVER! You are the greatest entertainer to ever grace a stage. I just wish I had the oppurtunity to see you but your music will live on forever. You have influenced so many generataion of artists and you will continue to do so even in your passing. WE LOVE YOU MICHAEL!
My prayers are with the Jackson family. RIP King of Pop.
Love, TRP
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:35 PM

How to even begin with the reality of this magnitude is beyond mind boggling…This man was solely responsible for the inspiration, motivation and influence placed on millions and millions of people worldwide, still to this day, whether you are in the music industry or not, one way or another Michael inspired you to dream and achieve!!! He was a combination of Elvis & James Brown for our generation. May he rest peacefully while we celebrate his music, career & life. We will always love our King of Pop, Michael Jackson!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:46 PM
I just wanted to say RIP Micheal, My words cannot express the hurt I’m feeling over this lost, Im suprized myself.
Thank you for the Memories, the Music and The good times, me and my family would all gather around to watch MJ events he really brought people together and will be missed..I think Im gonna go buy Thiller just cause…..
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:48 PM
corey feldman, alfonso ribiero…why was it only the children of families with something to gain that made these allegations??? cause he was often seen with famous children as well.
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:49 PM
Whow im surprised you could read my quote. Spell check!. But seriously the music industry, Entertainment altogether is so pathetic right now. Can you imagine 10 years from now when other legends like Michael J pass away?? they’ll be absolutely nothing but garbage and young ones aspiring to be garbage because Talent will be something of the past… Funny im only 28 but when i talk about how great MJ was or prince my great grand kids just gonna think of me as an old head that knows nothing and not even know the degree of talent MJ or other legends have because all they know is bullshit. Thats why although im not a fan of B im a fan of her hard work and the fact that she can perform sing and actually has talent and i hope the game have more like her (To my liking atleast lol) i hated the die hard fans of hers but now i respect them and those hoping to be like her i hope will work just as hard and maybe revive a bit of the good ole music i use to know and love.
Fri, June 26, 2009 1:55 PM
RIP Michael … I love Michael and his music … I am truly saddened by your passing.
I work with all white people … I counted about 12 of them crying and discussing this sad news this morning.
Michael Jackson… King of Pop…forever!!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:06 PM
Rest In Paradise dear Michael. You are loved and missed.
A true music legend! Not just the King of Pop, but the King of MUSIC!
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:07 PM
Im not worried about my spelling lol…. Im working and trying to gossip/mourn…. but yeah, I know. there arent many left! i have always said, no one uses their mind anymore. They only use their ways of getting money and fame quickly!! I hope when I have children, they can have the same appreciation for music that I have grown to have! I dont even turn on my radio anymore! There is so much trash on!! I cherish Michael for his creative abilities and strong work ethic! May his music and his soul live on long after his death!!!
Me either!!! I think he had a facsination with children and childhood due to the non existence of his! To me, he cared too much for children to ever hurt them! It was weird but it was also why so many of us loved him so much. His caring demeanor. My mom and aunts met him a few times along with Janet and Jermaine… they were younger like 10 11 but my mom said they were so nice and very humble! I miss him like he was my uncle! SMH
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:10 PM
Because they are all money hungry… Muckuly Culken (I know I butchered his name) was with him all the time for years and he even testified in his trial! Those families knew that Michael had money…. ugh Im disgusted just thnking about that greed!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:11 PM
Oh honey, that is so beautiful. And such a wonderful memory to tell your children you know? I cannot breath because it finally hit me. I think it just hurts to hear the negative.
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:13 PM
What I don’t get is how are they looking for the doctor and his car was still at MJ’s house? Did that punk b!tch just run away? What a sorry sack of sh!t. Hope they find his ass!
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:14 PM
Damn Mike…why?? Just why???
I’m lost. Seriously..I felt like I lost a family member
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:17 PM
PLEASE STOP FORGETTING STEVIE!!! MICHAEL IS THE KING–STEVIE IS THE MASTER–W/O HIM THERE WOULD BE NO ARTISTS TODAY B/C HE IS SAMPLED TO HELL AND BACK!!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:17 PM
I was born in 81 so by the time I could understand music by the age of 3 or 4, Michael Jackson was apart of my life. I remember watching his videos with my father when I was really young. I remember being 6 years old, and cutting my winter gloves up like Mike’s. Mike ruled the 80’s and single handedly changed the music game. Nobody, not even Elvis can did that.
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:20 PM
Ray Charles, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson & Prince are some of the greatest musical talents to ever walk the earth. All of them had extraordinary talents with instruments, dancing, singing and songwriting. They are the definition of a true artist.
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:21 PM
I wish the “mainstream media” would leave Mike alone. They hounded him in his life; and now they are still harping on negativity. Please let the man finally get some peace. Those blue-eyed devils seem to enjoy speaking about his legal woes and pedophilic accusations. Please leave him alone; he is DEAD. Let him rest in peace.
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:23 PM
Larry King said over and over on his show that he overheard lawyers talking about how they were trying to extort money from Michael Jackson in that 2005 case but the judge wouldn’t let him testify because it was hearsay.
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:23 PM
I have never made a comment on this site before but feel so compelled to today. Maureen Orth, Tim Russert’s widow, Tim Russert’s widow is a writer for Vanity Fair. She covered Michael after the trail and today not even 24 hours after his death she had some nasty words to say. At some point she mentions that he failed as a human being. Now everyone is entitled to their opinion but give his family and his spirit the respect they deserve. I called Vanity Fair and placed a complaint about this. I highly doubt when Madonna dies they will have a staffer talk about her like a dog. Here is the article to read and call Vanity Fair.

Fri, June 26, 2009 2:33 PM
I was born in 1981 and I have to say i’ve been exposed to Michael’s music since before I made my entrance into the world. I’m fairly close to my parents, but my teenage years I had to be a pretty trying child. This was my I think I’m grown and my parents just don’t understand me stage. Everyone talks about how he managed to bring people together. I remember Michael b/c during my teenage years, he was always the one thing that my parents and I had in common. They could throw on any MJ record and it was an instant concert in my house. I love the man, the music and the closeness he brought my family. He will truly be missed.
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:35 PM
I can not believe it! Totally shocked I feel like I have been kicked in the stomach. My Aunt died of Cardiac Arrest in April so suddenlyt age 41. My heart goes out to his family!! RIP Michael.
If anyone knows the gospel song May The Work I’ve Done (Speak For Me)so appropriate!! Google the lyrics on that..it will bring you to your knees!! I’m done!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:40 PM
Hey you guys take a minute and go to Global Grind and listen to the tribute by Diddy, CB, BoyzIIMen, and Game. It is so on point.
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:43 PM
I loved it absolutely loved it!!!!!!!.. Thanks. Well said by them all
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:45 PM
I watched that lastnight too. It made me cry. When Michael made that statement it sounded and looked like he wanted to cry. I also agree with the last part of your statement. We all know he was the best! No matter how much people try to front.
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:45 PM
Can you please tell me what has been said I cant get onto that site nor see videos. Really want to know!!!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:50 PM
Oh no it is a song for him. It an attached download. hold on…nevermind I was trying to see if I could put it in this message but I can’t. No the Game is rapping and is just spitting so much serious talk that if you aren’t crying it will take you there. Just talking about him remembering when he use to break out the Michael for his mom, and states “No matter what you say, I’mma love him and he’s still dope!”. Girl is the ish
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:50 PM
People are such hypocrites, it was not long ago there were posts of “Wack Jacko” and other mess like that constantly disrespecting this man on almost ever blog site on the Internet. It takes a man to die for everyone to acknowledge his accomplishments in life.
GTFOH.
R.I.P MJ [finally]
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:52 PM
I love Michael Jackson my whole fam grew up with him, can’t believe he’s gone but am thankful that he gave us everything. I’ll never forget the King of Pop, it’s too hard to pick videos and songs but I like:

Man in the mirror
Smooth Criminal
Wanna be starting something
Keep it in the closet
Dirty Diana
Dont stop till you get enough
Beat it
Thriller
Remember the time
Will you be there

I still haven’t wrapped my brain around this tragedy.
music will truly NEVER be the same….2009 statred off great with Obama, but it is going so south with the recession and unexpected deaths.
R.I.P Michael Joseph Jackson…U will always be the best to ever touch a mic and stage!
Fri, June 26, 2009 2:57 PM
@ OMG What did C.B. sing? I know he was a huge fan. Cant waoit to go home and hear it
Fri, June 26, 2009 3:01 PM
Just listened to the 911 tape which is crazy….silence and then whispering to the worker to tell them “just get an ambulance please” when asked what happened. This doctor was alone probably trying to cover up his mistake before getting help! Killed him off….Donda West case repeated thanks to stupidity. MJ shoulda been on the floor getting CPR!
Fri, June 26, 2009 3:06 PM
Chris was just like harmonizing but in his way you know. Do that as soon as you get home. It’s called better on the other side.
Fri, June 26, 2009 3:07 PM
That is so true.. Forever Michael Jackson~
Fri, June 26, 2009 3:10 PM
MJ when he was younger was soooo cute. I loved him, but after all them changes he became a bit scary and hard to look at. No matter what i never could stop loving his music. I wish he loved himself like he loved the world.
Didnt have so much self hate and went on at the rate he started at. Im sure he would have sold way more albums than 750 althpough that itself is crazy and will never ever be done. He’d Still be killing the game and schooled these so called artist.
Fri, June 26, 2009 3:15 PM
We shouldnt even call these singers, rappers ARTistsand stick to entertainers. most of them only know how to make an ass out of themselves delighting these blue eye people and singing about fuckery….. They deserve their albums to be downloaded because their music isnt worth buying its trash– well some people– the world doesnt even know music anymore because good artist in this day and age like Jasmine Sullivan, Fanny, american idol winners and etc, that have talent gets no love. Miochael J Stevie all of them please believe im so glad that i was born and got the priviledge to hear your music and see your performances.
Fri, June 26, 2009 3:16 PM
Um…riiight…regarding the 9-1-1 tape….

1) You claim to be a medical doctor…yet you perform CPR on a bed…EPIC FAIL!!

2) Your suspect ass decides to get ghost and have the authorities lookin for you…EPIC FAIL!!
3) You know, at best, 3-5 minutes is the maximum amount of time a patient can survive with minimal damage to brain or the heart…yet you contiuously performed CPR on a man who lived 6 minutes from a hospital…EPIC FAIL!!
You may now pass GO and take your ass straight to hell!!
Fri, June 26, 2009 3:19 PM

Exactly! How are you working on him for 45 minutes in the house! He needs a damn defibrillator to shock his heart to working again! He is “missing” cuz he knows he prescribed & got all types of prescription meds for MJ. He just needs to kill himself cuz he’s gonna be villainized behind this.
Fri, June 26, 2009 3:24 PM
Right!!! Emanuel Lewis, Gary Coleman.
People just wanted his money! Wanted to see him hurt!! Sad thing ,the little boy was coached thru all of that

Elvis is a theif.. How can you be great if you have to steal your dance moves and songs from others? Elvis was always stealing underground black music. To what degree i dont know because it was all hush hush but to date his greatest songs have been said to come from our people. I just watched Cadilac records the other day they made a small reference to him stealing dance moves. Elvis had many fans mostly blue eyed ones. MJ was loved by All!!! he’s the kind of all that was is and will continue to be music…..
Fri, June 26, 2009 3:49 PM
yes…wish i could remember the name of the book i read–on lots of famous peeps by a journalist who interviewed them over the years…she stated that it was clearly obvious that the little boy was coached and that it was for financial gain…

Fri, June 26, 2009 3:56 PM
Ohh Lawd…please don’t say Prince – I would be done for if we lost him too, I’m barely holding on as it is…
And a big ‘ol NIGGA PLEASE on Beyonce – she needs to put in about 20 more years and sell at least half of the 750 mili albums that MJ sold before she even comes close…real talk.
Fri, June 26, 2009 3:57 PM
There are no words to describe what an influential man he was. Michael Jackson will never die. There will be no one greater than him as an artist. We were all blessed to live in the same era as him. Greatness never dies.

In the words of Public Enemy….”fight the Power”
Elvis was a hero to most
But he never meant, shit to me you see
Straight up racist that sucker was
Simple and plain
Mother fuck him and John Wayne
In my MoFo words….let “MICHAEL JACKSON BE GREAT”
the mainstream media..can say what THE F*ck EVER
“But they cant take his music away” we gonna hve that FO LIFE
Fri, June 26, 2009 4:01 PM
I mean alot of ppl replied but basically Michael contribution for the black community wasnt just in his charity work and donations. It was simply about being him; the barriers that he broke and the doors that we can open so we can see all these rubbish artistes on MTV…MJ was the first black guy on MTV..Michael inspired everybody..even BIG when he was young with his mom who was jamaican and used to play alot of MJ songs an stuff. MJ touched everybody…mad posers looking for attention. Talking about his case and all that is irrelevant. It happened; jury of his peers made a decision and thats that. Surprised that MJ even got haters but they fake cause all yall tried to moonwalk at some point or do that anti gravity lean from Smooth Criminal..quit hatin on the greatest entertainer of all time..if you aint got nun good to say be quiet
Fri, June 26, 2009 4:01 PM

Even the haters still loved Jay to and had an obsession. Nothing they say do can hever hurt his fan base or stop his music. He was the shit his alnbums sales speak for itself!.. not to mention he owns a share in the beatles, M&M’s and other great investment. The man aint no fool… Let them keep talking most of them are crackers that are just mad because none of their people can ever ever do what he did even Elvis the king of stealing music and moves. Elvis was a big time racist and most of his die hard fans are white. Jackson was loved by all. They cant handle that.. like i said Even jesus had a hater and he only had 12 friends.. The great people in life always are hated upon

I am still hoping that is the night of the 24th I am still asleep and maybe this is a nightmare soon enough it is going to be the 25th of June and Michael will still be alive.
I mean what can I say about Michael? I heard someone saying that MICHAEL IS MUSIC and I thought that was the best description of him. And the people who say he is one of the best artists- NO he is not one of, HE IS THE BEST EVER!! There is nobody compared to him, nobody as far as I am concerned will ever get to that level in my life time. Whether one likes it or not I say they will never be an Icon like him, someone who is loved and idolized by so many people through out the world.
I didn’t grow up in America but still I learnt about Michael Jackson from listening to my parents LP’s -OFF THE WALL I will never forget that. I really never understood what the lyrics meant or how they were pronounced because I didn’t speak English; but I would still sing out loud in gibberish. It really didn’t matter whether I understood the lyrics or not, the songs just made me happy and excited.
I fell even more in love with Michael after watching Thriller. I have to admit at such a young age the video scared the hell out of me but I would still watch it over and over again and sleep with the lights on. After thriller I convinced my young self that If I prayed enough I would one day get married to Michael Jackson-he was idol and I absolutely adored him. I would watch his videos in a trance.
And I grew to admire him more from watching the “Making of We are the World” after seeing that I truly believed that this guy really wanted to heal the world-he was an angel.
The black or white video was also another one of my favorite-I was really impressed by the vision and artistry of his videos, they were beyond and still are way above anything I have seen. Michael created Music videos as we know them today but still not to his standards.
My greatest dream of mine was to see Michael in concert, I was hoping that after he is done with the London shows , he will change his mind and hold more concerts in the US. But well that dream will never be realized but his music still lives on in my heart.
Regarding the negative comments that you see popping here and there just ignore them CHANGE THE CHANNEL don’t watch it. That is how the media survives especially in the USA – it operates on the negativity, rumors and half truths. Nobody except for those few who are hoping to make a buck really cares about listening to his legal troubles. With all the achievements in his life and the lives he has touched who would one want to focus on the negative, we have all heard them before so you are not telling us something new so It is time to zip it and give due respect to this great icon.
And fans brace yourselves prepare to be even more upset when all kind of books about him are going to come out of the woodworks. Tell all from from people who were around him. There will be book deals TV shows movies, music covers. Michael has been one of the most exploited artists out there -you wanna make a back , sue Michael and he will still be the most exploited after his death. I SAY BOYCOTT ALL TELL ALL PUBLICATIONS, APPEARANCES, TV SPECIALS E.T.C. YOU ALREADY HAVE YOUR AUTHENTIC GREAT MEMORIES OF MICHAEL WHY TARNISH THEM BY LISTENING, READING TO ALL THAT GARBAGE ABOUT HIM.
You know I think it is sad how the American way is to build people up and then tear them down. When you appreciate someone show it do not be half assed about it; yesterday you couldn’t wait to crack up a joke about him and today he is dead and you suddenly realized how precious each single day is-the days you spent ridiculing him.
So now you have all these other incredible artists left nobody like him though so think twice before you start bad mouthing them on things that have nothing to do with their talent and artistry.
I think the Japanese were the best fans Michael has ever had, they stuck with him through thickness and thin. I can’t say that much about the American fans.
I really feel sad but I can’t cry, maybe if I did I will feel better. It is hard losing someone that you have never met, touched it is almost like he was a fig of your imagination. So how do you get over that?
It is sad that this man despite of all the love people had for him, all the positive energies that were directed towards him, he died a lonely man; a man with no true friends. Many said they were his friends but where where they when he was hurting? When my friend is going trough tough times- I am there in a second. This makes me very sad, I wish I was his friend,I wish I could have been there for him but well these are now just wishes.
THERE ARE TOO MANY MICHAEL SONGS THAT I LOVE IT IS HARD TO PICK A FEW BUT HERE WE GO: Heal the World, The Way You Make Me Feel, Keep it in the Closet, Ben, Heart Break Hotel, I Just Can’t Stop Loving You, P.Y.T. Can’t Stop Till Yo Get Enough, You are Not Alone, Billie Jean….
So Michael thank you for the great memories and the music and I will always strive to keep your memories and your music alive. YOU ARE HOME NOW, REST IN PEACE AND SLEEP WITH THE ANGELS-YOUR TRUE FRIENDS.

As per MSNBC:
Police investigating Michael Jackson’s death looked into his medical treatment Friday, seeking to interview one of the pop king’s doctors and seizing a car that they said may contain drugs or other evidence.
As medical examiners began an autopsy for Jackson, police towed a BMW from Jackson’s rented home “because it may contain medications or other evidence that may assist the coroner in determining the cause of death,” police spokeswoman Karen Rayner said.
She said the car belongs to one of Jackson’s doctors whom police wanted to interview. Rayner stressed the doctor was not under criminal investigation.
The Los Angeles Times has identified the physician as Dr. Conrad Murray, 51, a Las Vegas cardiologist, and reports that Murray was administering CPR to Jackson when paramedics arrived.
The manhunt has begun! Trust he will be dead before Michael’s wake!

Thank you Tasha, like you I am also an advocate for true talent and michael was it for me no matter what people say about his personal life no one can deny he was a true artist, from the dancing performances the songs I mean who else is going to sell 750 million records! not the nonsense stars we have 2day, I was born in 81 and my first memory of michael was the song bad I am from london and was so excited for his come back tour it wasn’t meant to be, I hope he finds peace because the media demonised him in the past 15 years, the last time I remember this kind of public outcry was when princess diana died, he touched so many people RIP mj

Thank you for such a fabulously well put expression of loss and appreciation for the greatest entertainer to ever walk the earth. He will always be with us as long as we continue to sing his praises and allow his music to provide the soundtrack to our lives. I’m so ridiculously sad and can’t stop crying these past few days, but it’s definitely helped to share the grief with other fans and know that we’re all togteher in our love and absolute admiration for MJ. Let’s keep his music relevant and in the ears of our children and our children’s children! Viva Michael!!!! We love you and may your music live on forever!!!
