Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, & Others Set To Tribute Michael Jackson At BET Awards?

One of our sources behind the scenes for tomorrow night’s BET Awards has just told us that celebs are scrambling to get some tributes together for the late Michael Jackson. Here’s what we were told is going down:
Justin Timberlake will be performing at the awards to pay Tribute. Usher is also rushing back to LA to be part of the show. Beyonce and Ne-Yo have totally revamped their sets to pay tribute. The Dream, Chris Brown, Jay Z, will also pay tribute. An incredible amount of people are trying to get in the show on stage tomorrow night. Old school Motown players will also show up to represent. The show will be at least 30 minutes longer.
I am, for once, looking forward to this…

Ooo…seems like it is going to be a good time and memorable, I can’t wait this might be the best BET awards yet and JUST might rival Mo’Nique’s Beyonce Booty Shake dance to “crazy in love” as top moments. As for Justin Timberlake…mmmmmm, I’ am not sure how he will fit on there but I can’t wait for his performance either. I glad Chris B got a spot on the line up (yeah,I know some people are going to be mad, but he deserves to be up there) I can wait to see how the award show come together for the icon that is Mr. Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson-Loved and despised, revered and reviled, charmed and shamed. Took us all on a journey like no other ever has or ever will.

Icheal was a universal artist to appealed to everyone of all races so Justin is right where he needs to be, he’s the only male performer around at this point who can get anywhere near that MJ superstardom so lets not go there. Chris brown…Bless his heart but i still think its too sdoon. They didnt aactually say he’d be performing though, a lot of people will probably just be involved by commenting on a video montage so maybe thats how.
I want to see the big guns. Justin, Beyonce, Stevie Wonder, Whitney, Alicia, Usher, Lionel, Diana Ross, Mariah, ETC. Chris Brown can dance He was heavily inmspired by jackson but he’s not the same kind of artyist, he was on his way but The ghettoness/ego/immaturity derailed it. I don’t think hes going to be able to really get his mainstream swag on again and you can’t get like Mike without it. I just wish they would avoid any level of controversy for this event.

Peace Be With “The King of Pop”

I am definitely looking forward to the Motown players. It is still too hard for me to process so I have no interest in seeing the imitators destroy his music and choreography. When it settles in, I may be able to enjoy their efforts. R.I.P. Michael. You will be forever missed.

I am lookin forward to this show. I will be recording it for old times sake. All of my favorite performers on one stage is priceless and unforgetable!! To goons and whoever talkin bout Justin. Um Michael is the reason why Justin do what he do. Im guessing yall havent seen all the times he has sampled Michael’s dance style/music. and plus Michael brought races together im sure he would loved this. Get it together ppl it is not all about fitting in anymore its about standing out! R.I.P. Michael your legacy will live on forever!!=(

I don’t even like her music but shouldn’t Ciara be up there? I mean the girl can DANCE! I know beyonce is beyonce but she can’t dance like that. Ciara would be perfect for it.

Yea. Although I could care less about Justin or Chris Brown, they both should be there. Without Michael, neither one of those boys would be here. I will definitely record this for old times sake. Right now, I just don’t have the patience to watch. I would love to hear how he influenced them but I really can’t take anyone but Michael singing his songs and dancing his moves. Not ready to let that image go just yet.

That is so wrong and racist, Do u remember when us black people were not able to sit in the front of the bus. Now we got people like Beyonce who can buy a flock of buses and not dent her bank account. Who carez if JT is white, dude can sing. I am black and i enjoy music in all cultures and demographics. I think that is really hippocritical to not allow a white person to sing for micheal, he has fan in many different religons, cultures and demographics. Thats like saying Ne-Yo cant perform for the late Farrah Fawsett because he black. And if that would have happened, black people would go crazy. SMH……GROW UP

2-I love bey and I know that she can dance but ciara has the right to show us what she got
3-I am happy that usher and CB perform like I wish *cryin*
4-For JT,How can people be so blind? didnt we just have our first president OBAMA with all races Votes? YOU FORGOT SO QUICKLY
5-when U see “Liberian Girl” or “Remember the time” ,you can see how MJ loved everybody in the industry.
RIP Michael *cryin*

Sounds like a great lineup with the exception of Dusty Timberlake!! After how he played Janet he doesn’t deserve to set foot on ANY stage paying homage to Michael, & Yes MJ touched many if not all races, but there’s nothing wrong with people of his ilk having our OWN celebration for him. Also although Chris isn’t in my good graces right now, He and Usher were the first ones that came to mind and I do wanna see him there. He ripped that James Brown Tribute and I know he’d do Michael proud.

please JT is the one who threw janet under the bus after the nipple scandal..she felt hurt by what he did and he never appologised.. it would be a great disrespect to her and the love she had for her brother..he would have no shame performing and paying respect to MJ yet he knows he never set it right with the sister.. he needs to sit this one down and leave it..and yes, i have no problem with white people but a BET tribute should be about celebrating how micheal paved the way african americans..it is was not for him all these crossover would not be where they are today..its BET (black entertainment television) so can it be just about us for once..if he wants to pay a tribute, he can do that at the MTV awards!!!!!!!
OnJun 27, 2009 at 9:00 am (Quote) | Reply |
Why are people hating on Justin Timberlake? He is a great artist. The Super Bowl was 6 years ago and we don’t know what types of convos he’s had with Janet since then. To the person who said he should leave this to the black folk, wtf? You’re truly ignorant. For once, I’m super excited to warch the BET Awards this year.
OnJun 27, 2009 at 9:09 am (Quote) | Reply |
OMG!!! When I first heard about the tribute, I just knew it wouldn’t be right if they didn’t ask Chris Brown to be there and perform. Personally, I think that he can dance better than Usher, but they both were heavily inspired by Michael’s artistry. I don’t know if you all seen CB’s MJ tribute at the World Music Awards a few years back, but, let’s just say it was realy good. And if he does perform tomorrow this could actually be the first step in healing his career. WOW! I am so actually looking for the first time to see the BET awards tomorrow, yeah!
RIP Miachael Jackson, you are the greatest, he was a “True Music Legend” he had so much influence on the whole world. So sad, I still hadn’t really processed it yet, b/c I am still in shock,
“gone but not forgotten”.

Wow…He didn’t just pave the way for African Americans …why must it be a black/white thing when paying tribute to someone. I didn’t see just black people showing up at his concert, EVERY RACE was there. Once again you have proven that you are extremely ignorant. You should be happy BET is finally putting something of quality together unlike the terrible shows they show on a regular basis after 1pm everyday.
OnJun 27, 2009 at 9:12 am (Quote) | Reply |
I will be recording it also…Michael is in the hearts of so many people, black, white, Asian, etc…he performed on one of the MTV awards with NSYNC…who cares if JT is white…he respected him…it’s more than I can say about people I know (white people) sending disrespectful MJ jokes and not recognizing this man as an icon…so..I’m all for those who want to contribute. I don’t even much tune into the foolishness that is BET, but this tribute, will make me. It may be black entertainment, but seriously, ain’t shyt been entertaining on that network, besides The Game and sometimes Blackbuster movies…keep it real…

anyone who wants to give a tribute to MJ and can do a decent job should: black, white, alien, human…you all are so stupid. smh! i would rather see justin than ciara. she can do a janet tribute (which janet probably wouldn’t like) but mike…uh NO!

You do realize Justin Timberlake doesnt represent every white person. Sounds like you’ve been hurt by a white person in the past and you’re taking it out on JT. It’s fine. Last time Janet talked was freakin years ago and this tribute isnt a Janet tribute it’s Michael. Hell I’m sure Mike was hurt by some stuff BLACK comedians said about him before but for you thats probably okay since their black ..right?
OnJun 27, 2009 at 9:21 am (Quote) | Reply |

He loved Michael and he was also friends with Mike he SHOULD be there! Jay = just trying to get himself some shine so people can remember him, cause Lord knows that wack a$$ single ain’t doin jack. I understand that celebs want to show tribute to the man that made it possible for them to be where they are, but some of these people need to just make a nice statement and move on with it. Why can’t they make a donation to a charity in his name? I just feel like this is being turned into another opportunity for them to just get some attention. I’m not watching the BET awards cause I refuse to sit back and watch Beyonce, Usher, Justin Timberlake and other mediocre singers perform their renditions of Michael’s songs. If it’s not Michael, it’s just a cheap immitation. I’d rather just watch his old videos on Youtube, Thanks. I have a feeling that compared to a Michael show, this is going to be a lot like watching an elementary school talent show. SO YES HE’S CAUCASIAN AND THE THING HAPPENED WITH JANET 5 FUCKIN YEARS AGO!!! JUSTIN HAS SAID NOTHING BUT GREAT THINGS ABOUT JANET SINCE.. HE WAS SCARED AT THE TIME AND HE WANTED TO GO TO THE FIRST GRAMMY AWARD THAT HE WOULD WIN AT. BUT THAT DOESN’T MATTER. MICHAEL IS GONE AND JUSTIN LOVED HIM BLACK OR WHITE MICHAEL WOULD BE PROUD TO SEE JT CELEBRATE AND PAY TRIBUTE TO HIM. MJ AND JT WERE FRIENDS AND JT LOOKED UP TO MICHAEL LIKE NO OTHER. MAYBE NOT EVEN THE WAY USHER LOOKS UP TO HIM. EVERYTHING JUSTIN HAS DONE IN HIS CAREER IS SOOOO MICHAEL LIKE, FROM THE BUBBLE GUM BOY BAND BEGINNING TO BREAKING AWAY SOLO TO WORKING WITH THE BEST PRODUCERS TO BEING NUMBER 1 AND TO HAVING CRITICS TRY TO KNOCK HIM DOWN. YES HES WHITE, BUT ISNT IT AMAZING THAT 26 YEARS AGO MICHAEL WAS THE FIRST BLACK PLAYED ON MTV BUT NOW IN DEATH A WHITE MAN WHO IS ARGUABLY THE MOST SUCCESFUL WHITE MALE ARTIST IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW IS PAYING HOMAGE TO HIM! I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING JUSTIN AT THE BET AWARDS. AND FOR THOSE OF U SAYING IT SHOULD BE ABOUT ONLY BLACK PEOPLE GET A GRIP AND GET A FUCKIN CLUE MJ WOULD BE DISGUSTED!!

Girl get a grip and turn off the caps. I couldn’t even read that mess, but clearly you are tripping on Timberlack.
Of course white folks should be there. However, Timberlack should be in the audience, a performance by him is not required to cover Michael Jackson. Usher and Breezy got that covered.
I repeat Jusitne Timberlack is ripping off black culture because he has the mainstream ability to do so. Black artisit work with him, because he is former Micky Mouse Clubber, former N’Syncer, former Brittney Spears boyfriend (i.e., Mr. Mainstream). You want to cross over - work with Timberlack. The same way Elvis became Elvis.

You’re full of shit milatimberlake, and your rant means nothing. As I said, it has nothing to do with race. YOU can have a selective memory all you like, the Jacksons don’t and that’s what counts. BET is getting complaints about JT as we write. You don’t disrespect them just because you are a fan. Get real. Save the Caps I didn’t read it all and neither will too many others. You aren’t impressing anyone. JT needs to sit this one out, due to respect.

Stella, I have to agree with you on this one. I think the Justin Timberlake fans are just letting their Stan-goggles get in the way of seeing the point you’re trying to make. Race has nothing to do with it, it’s about respect. I don’t think Justin should perform a tribute either because he was BLATENTLY disrespectful to the Jackson family. He used them for what they could do for him (stealing dance, music, etc) and abused them . Then he imbarassed their daughter/sister. Because of that scandal, Janet was BANNED from MTV ( the ban was only lifted for her last album), while his vidoes were played on the regular. Sure he “appologized” but that damage had already been done. Same goes for Beyonce. She was SO disrespectful to their family in the past with her comments comparing her father to Jo Jackson and now she wants to pay tribute to him?! Sadly, this is the way the entertainment industry is. You use people for whatever you need from them and then when you have the upper hand you toss them to the side.

Justin Timberlake should be allowed because Michael Jackson is a global figure who embraced all races. I hope they don’t overload with too many newer artists because I would like to see Ashford & Simpson, Siedah Garrett, Lionel Richie, Paul McCartney and a few others in there. Then again, they might save it for the Grammys. It was during the Grammy’s in 84 when Michael, Lionel and Quincy organized the “We Are The World” recording.

I am highly offended that “I remember I am white when ish hits the fan and blame it on the negro” Justin Timberlake is performing. The only place he belong is in the audience. I saw Micheal Jackson in concert when I was 7 and I’ve been a die hard fan of Micheal Jackson to the fullest, therefore I am more than aware that Micheal Jackson unlike Elvis was loved by ALL RACES. He was a very loving and compassionate man and a awesome humanitarian. He despised the mistreatment of false blame of people. Justin Stanklate threw Janet under the bus, out into the see for the sharks to tear her up which they did. Justin bailed out on her and let her take the fall. Long after the incident Janet went onto the Oprah show in which she said “I thought he was my true friend, we hung together, went out and laughed together, it really hurt me, and no he didn’t and hasn’t reached out or apologized for how he handled the ordeal and it hurt me and made me cry” quote. I feel it will be an insult unless that has changed between them and even then I still am not feeling him. Why is everyone especially our people on his jock? I don’t get it. Now, I couldn’t care less about Chris Brown making a comeback, I’m over the “situation” regarding him and am moving on from that, but Chris Brown should be the focal point for the main Micheal Jackson performance tribute. He goes hard and embodies his move and style so much and it comes from the heart, not just trying to impress a crowd of “black folks” with “look at me I can dance like you guys too” Justin T…ugh…he needs to just sit down in the audience and clap his hands.

If it weren’t for Jo Jackson “beating those boys into success” Beyonce wouldn’t be where she is today. Someone else sacrificed their childhood, sanity, family, etc so people like her could succeed. The only comment she had to make was “no, I don’t see my family as a comparison to the Jackson’s”, but instead she decided to put her foot in her mouth (which usually happens when her people let her speak for herself) and DISRESPECT the family that paved the way for her. Everyone knows that Jo Jackson beat those boys, but her comment was pretty much saying ” no, we’re better than that because my father didn’t need me to get rich because we already had money.” hmph. Well Matthew sure did enjoy using that money to buy prostitutes and cocaine didn’t he? And he sure loves to strong arm his way in the industry with that money his daughter made for him, doesn’t he? And he loves to use his daughter’s name to get other artits blacklisted doesn’t he? And his greed and unmoral ways cause strain on his family, didn’t it? Child, that ain’t nothin but Joe Jackson without the switch.

I do think Justin Timberlake is very talented artist, However I feel if he performs The White people will only mention him doing a Michael Jackson tribute and will forget the rest,
When the BET Awards is meant to be for BLACK ENTERTAINERS.
Yes we know JT was inspired by MJ, just like Usher and Chris Brown but Justin would be first pick for the VMA’s or The Grammy’s, we know White people favour their own, It sounds like a great line up but a White man getting all the praise for doing a tribute from the white media over all the black folks at a Black event, is a big no no from me
I hope the Likes of Chris Brown out shine him, Bring it Brezzy!!

This is not the time for division….LET WHOEVER WANNA PERFoRM, PERFROM. MJ affected many and we’re all saddened along with celebs. People act like they haven’t sat on blogs recently and talked ish about Michael and the way he’s been acting/dressing. What makes ya better? Should MTV exclude us in participating in a VMA awards then since “we” already had our tribute?!

Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion and this is simply just my opinion.
I don’t understand why “we” can not disagree without using profanities or saying that something has to be “wrong” if someone doesn’t think or feel the same as me, you or anyone else.
Overall, I want Micheal Jackson to be represented and the performances to do him justice. I’ve still been crying off and on since Friday. My heart is so broken.
I would love to hear Diana Ross, Elizabeth Taylor who Micheal was very close to and she calls him her bestfriend, Whitney Houston and of course Janet and his brothers to do the verbal tribute for Micheal. I already know I’m going to be a mess crying. I miss him terribily already.

I think what people took offense to was B trying to act like her family is so sanctimonious and classy-they’re not..Yes she was raised in a middle-upper class home, and the Jacksons were poor, but there are certainly rumors circulating about her own family…i.e. Solange’s teenage preganacy, her parents sham marriage, her father’s addiction problems, and just the overall way he handles business (dirty)…Yes they may have been well off, but they’re not the f**kin COSBY’s-not by a long shot…They’ve got money, but they’re ghetto and country and it shows…Just own up to what you are and stop putting down other people in the process..

If BET wants to be diverse and include a white artist — Mr.Timerlake isn’t the only one that MJ influenced. I’m sure Robin Thicke would love to be apart of this tribute. Or they can even choose someone that doesn’t have a R&B/soul background.

THIS SUNDAY’S BET AWARDS… THE PRESSURE IS ON!
I hope BET really steps up their game and does Michael Jackson proud! This is the first award show that is taking place just days after his death… we are all STILL in a state of shock! This is the BLACK ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION AWARDS… I HOPE they understand how significant and important it is that they blow the roof off that joint… and show the world just what he meant to the black community, to every single genre of the entire music industry, and to this world in its entirety! WE will ALL be watching! WE need this. HE deserves this!
Michael Jackson DESERVES way more than just a damn moment of silence. I will be extremely insulted, completely embarrassed, and thoroughly PISSED if that’s all they do! THE ENTIRE SHOW SHOULD BE ABOUT MICHAEL JACKSON. PERIOD. I love my girl, but to hell would I want to watch Beyonce’ gyrating across the stage for the umpteenth time to one of her tracks, when THE KING OF ALL MUSIC has just passed away (… yeah I said it– NOT just POP)! Each and every one of those MO-FO’s would not be who they are as entertainers if it wasn’t for him. He changed the scope of music and entertainment, and set a bar of greatness that will never be touched. NEVER. HE gave them ALL something to strive FOR! Therefor they should all INSIST upon putting their own albums and personal agendas aside just this once, to perform the song of a hero.
Above all else I hope Michael Jackson finally feels the LOVE… I hope he feels ALL of the love that we have for him, and knows just what he meant to us all! I hope he, at the very least, gets a glimpse at just how many lives he has touched, and just how much of an impact his life and presence has had on this earth… the world is forever changed!

My heart hurts so badly because of MJ’s passing. I wish the media would respect his family’s privacy and leave them alone. The media is to blame for how bad his reputation was ruined. I know the constant negativity that came from them contributed to the downward spiral of Michael. Imagine if everyday people were saying things about you? That you were the rebuttal of people’s jokes. I don’t think anyone commenting could handle that. The media was so caught up in Michael’s personal life that they completely forgot what he stood for as a person and entertainer. He wasn’t a child molester or the “guy that lost his black card.” He was the greatest entertainer EVER, and every knuckle head out there today owes him for paving the way for him. You look at all of these kids like Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Usher.. all wanting to be someone they could NEVER amount to.
The world lost such a great talent. I don’t think people will ever heal from this. People grew up with Michael! They are his childhood! RIP Michael.

Just thinking that if MJ had departed during the MTV awards season or some ish like that…we woulda had artists like Justin Timberlake, Britney, Gaga, scrumbling to put a tribute together…folks would been maaaad!
Lets stop the nonsense and pay tribute with dignity to THE KING. Last time I checked, the WHOLE WORLD was grieving for the King. Black, white, aliens, animals…every damn being felt the man’s energy to a degree.
Stop the foolishness. Michael taught us better. His music crossed boundaries. Infact BET shoulda put other “far left” artists in that mix too. Not just JT.

Man Fuck Jt. Those of you saying it’s not a black/white thing…Haven’t you guys been watching the news, picked up a newspaper? The white media’s been slaying Michael, trying to tarnish his legacy. Though black people might have dogged him a few times, we are all hurting and we’re focusing on the positive accomplishments of Michael.

Black Or White lyrics
I Took My Baby
On A Saturday Bang
Boy Is That Girl With You
Yes We’re One And The Same
Now I Believe In Miracles
And A Miracle
Has Happened Tonight
But, If
You’re Thinkin’
About My Baby
It Don’t Matter If You’re
Black Or White
They Print My Message
In The Saturday Sun
I Had To Tell Them
I Ain’t Second To None
And I Told About Equality
An It’s True
Either You’re Wrong
Or You’re Right
But, If
You’re Thinkin’
About My Baby
It Don’t Matter If You’re
Black Or White
I Am Tired Of This Devil
I Am Tired Of This Stuff
I Am Tired Of This Business
Sew When The
Going Gets Rough
I Ain’t Scared Of
Your Brother
I Ain’t Scared Of No Sheets
I Ain’t Scare Of Nobody
Girl When The
Goin’ Gets Mean
[L. T. B. Rap Performance]
Protection
For Gangs, Clubs
And Nations
Causing Grief In
Human Relations
It’s A Turf War
On A Global Scale
I’d Rather Hear Both Sides
Of The Tale
See, It’s Not About Races
Just Places
Faces
Where Your Blood
Comes From
Is Where Your Space Is
I’ve Seen The Bright
Get Duller
I’m Not Going To Spend
My Life Being A Color
[Michael]
Don’t Tell Me You Agree With Me
When I Saw You Kicking Dirt In My Eye
But, If
You’re Thinkin’ About My Baby
It Don’t Matter If You’re Black Or White
I Said If
You’re Thinkin’ Of
Being My Baby
It Don’t Matter If You’re Black Or White
I Said If
You’re Thinkin’ Of
Being My Brother
It Don’t Matter If You’re
Black Or White
Ooh, Ooh
Yea, Yea, Yea Now
Ooh, Ooh
Yea, Yea, Yea Now
It’s Black, It’s White
It’s Tough For You
To Get By
It’s Black , It’s White, Whoo
It’s Black, It’s White
It’s Tough For You
To Get By
It’s Black , It’s White, Whoo

I’m confused….Robin Thicke is also white so how can one say he should be chosen over JT? I can’t believe people are forreal arguing over this nipple thing like it happened yesterday. Get over it. We DO NOT know whether JT and Janet have spoken about this in the recent years. Just because it is not public does not mean it hasn’t happened. Your opinions don’t matter and because the show will go on. You have 2 choices: watch the show or don’t watch it. But I believe some of you haters will watch the show just to find something negative about it. Some of you really need lives and its sad to see the amount of racism that still exists. Some of you think you sound educated but you dont.

I have read enough and most of the comments in order to say what I am about to say. All of those who are bringing up why and who should be up paying their tribute on this night have no rights in labeling anyone. You are the very same people who claims we all need equal rights, but here you are labeling others. Who are you to say who deserves to pay their tribute. One word, hypocrites. If paying tribute is just another physical action to you, then you are no better than those people who you’re hating on and you’re just another poser who wants attention. We’re all paying our tributes our own ways, you don’t give the rights to who can feel a certain way and how they can express themselves, so please think before you do anything. You know who you are.
Rest in Paradise MJJ

I would like to encourage all African Americans who visit the Bossip.com to stop doing so!! They continue to post negative comments about Blacks, most recently Michael Jackson. Doing this without research or facts.
I think this should be a time of respect for the family and for his memory of Michael Jackson and not tear him down or muddy his name.
I would also like to encourage the organizations out there who advertise on the bossip site to stop doing so.
There are other sites, such as concreteloop.com and theYBF.com that have done a very good and respectful job with Blacks in the entertainment industry and I am especially pleased with their tribute to Michael Jackson.
LET’S BOYCOTT THE BOSSIP SITE!!!

These stars already had their initial sets that they were practicing for. So it will be definitely interesting to see what actually comes about. no matter what they do though…it will and still is a wonderful gesture to the man that gave EVERY LAST ONE OF THE the opportunity to EVEN BE ON THAT STAGE!

That said, only Chris Brown can take the mantle - he should do the tribute. People can pour on the hatergade, I am going to continue to celebrate Micheal Jackson’s like by buying and listening to his music. The white media are doing a great job or tearing him down, that’s is their job in life, to tear down a black man, we don’t need to follow them. Lets honor Micheal in the way he would have wanted, so it doesn’t matter who really ends up doing the tribute, he was an influence in so many people’s life.

DAMN!!! @ All YALL WHO ARE GOING HARD FOR Justin Timberlake to perform at the BET AWARDS.
Ummmmm…. NO. WE’RE GOOD… THANKS!!
Chris Brown, Usher, Ne-YO, Everyone from the Motown era, and the many, many other African American artist ALL of which who want a chance to pay tribute. The stage is full! This is NOTHING personal against the boy… there is just no damn room! This is the 1st AWARD SHOW, OF MANY, following Michael Jackson’s death, the ONLY Black Entertainment Television Award Show… can WE just have this one? Damn! JT will be able to take his pick of which stage he wants to skate across all year long if he wants to @ the AMERICAN MUSIC AWARD, MTV AWARDS, THE GRAMMYS… etc. It is NOT imperative that he perform at this one! And for all of those who are feening to see a JT tribute, TRUST ME… YOU WILL, several times over on all the other award shows this year.
Chris Brown however, DOESN’T HAVE A SHOT IN HELL if he wants to do a tribute to MJ @ the GRAMMYS, or any of the other shows! They will NOT go near his ass! Furthermore, MOST of the artist that will be ON the BET AWARDS paying tribute to MJ, just WON’T have the same opportunity to do so on these predominately white facilitated shows, who aren’t really trying to put a black artist on stage unless they’ve gone platinum. KUM-BA-YA all you want, but those are the facts!! See where I’m going with this people? Specifically… milatimberlake, Layla, TAV, Joja86, Lola, TyTy, and all the rest of those who can’t seem to understand.

PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW THE TRUTH!
THE MEDIA SHOULD ACLKNOWLEDGE THE FACTS OF HIS CHILD-MOLESTATION CASES. HE WAS INNOCENT & HE NEVER SETTLED THE FIRST CASE, HIS INSURANCE COMPANY DID IT AGAINST HIS WILL.
It is time we all share the truth.
You must know that
In 2006, Jordan Chandler accused his father of abuse.
The civil portion of the Chandler case against Jackson was mutually settled with the payment of an undisclosed amount of money. In a legal court document filed in court on March 22, 2005, it was stated that Jackson’s insurance carrier ultimately negotiated and paid the full settlement amount[2]. The court document states that “the 1993 civil settlement was made by Mr. Jackson’s insurance company and was not within Mr. Jackson’s control… The settlement agreement was for global claims of negligence and the lawsuit was defended by Mr. Jackson’s insurance carrier. The insurance carrier negotiated and paid the settlement, over the protests of Mr. Jackson and his personal legal counsel.”
In 2005, according to Raymond Chandler, Jordan left the country to avoid testifying in the trial against Jackson; Ray states that Jordan does not like the media attention and has moved three times since the case began. His mother, June Chandler, has not seen her son in 11 years either, and Ray is also estranged from her.
In 2006, Jordan Chandler accused his father of abuse. The accuser, now 26, says his ex-dentist dad Evan Chandler “struck him on the head from behind with … (dumbbell) weight … sprayed his eyes with Mace or pepper spray, and tried to choke him” last year, according to court documents filed in New Jersey.
As some of you know, the man in the picture is Jordan Chandler, the person who accused Michael Jackson of molesting him in 1993. Well, as you can see Jordan has grown up. Jordan lives in NY/NJ with the money he obtained from the settlement in the 1993 case. Many people like Diane *big trunk* Dimond want you to think Jordan’s life is going great…in reality Jordan is a legal fight with his father, Evan Chandler. Jordan sued his father because in mid 2005 (now his father is suing him as well) his father tried to KILL HIM. How do I know this? COURT PAPERS. Jordan Chandler accuses his father of hitting him over the head with a 12-pound weight, spraying his eyes with mace and trying to choke him.
Why isn’t this information all over TMZ? Why isn’t Diane Dimond all over this one? If Diane can find out what underwear Tom Sneddon is wearing, why can’t she find out about this case? Perhaps because she may be afraid to know why EVAN CHANDLER would do something like that to his own SON. Perhaps she fears what she will find out. I would think that Evan Chandler trying to take out his son would be ALL OVER THE NEWS. I’m wrong. These folks don’t care about Jordan Chandler and what happens to him if it not related to Michael Jackson. But, who says it isn’t? Some alleged Evan and Jordan dispute is over money! You know that money they got from Michael Jackson’s insurance. I wonder, if Evan Chandler was capable of causing such injuries to his own son over what some allege is money, then why wouldn’t he be capable of falsely accusing a rich celebrity to get that money. It seems nothing stands in the way of Evan Chandler. Not even Jordan Chandler.

LaToya Luckett is said to perform
Michael tribute shouldn’t be who can be him to a T.
All tribute’s aren’t a/b copying the artist to a T.
Justin isn’t black so he shouldn’t perform?
MJ- ‘doesn’t matter if you’re black o white’
Beyonce shouldn’t perform because of what she said regarding his upbringing?
Yet I’m sure 1/3 of the audience, watching eye has said worse things. I guess they shouldn’t be privledged to attend or watch?
I guess Jaime shouldn’t host, because Im sure he’s cracked MJ jokes [J Foxx is a comedian]
Some of these artists are already performing, they’re just adding a MJ tribute to there set, so fall back. This night is for him. I won’t be surprised if someone doesn’t perform just THEIR song, during THEIR set.

Seriously, everyone aspires to be as great as someone…Mike looked up to Jackie Wilson and James Brown…he surpased them in fame and recognition..yet, there was nothing but love and respect there. Yes, NeYo, Chris, Usher, Ciara, Ginuwine, Justin…may never surpass the status of Michael…but he is still an inspiration none the less… I see a tribute as showing love not attempting to imitate the artist. Some need to seriously chill out…I’m so glad Michael is away from all the drama of this world…it’s so ridiculous.

Interesting… well I was thinking the same thing about Beyonce- even worse since she made all those comments about the Jackson family using their children to get out of a bad situation… and they said Janet was not impressed by that. I wonder if they (the Jacksons) will appreciate her giving tribute due to that. I guess this could be a time to put the past behinds us but I guess we’ll see what happens.

everyone who loved MJ should be able to perform for his tribute. why should it just be limited to black people or those who are “hot” at the moment.
OnJun 27, 2009 at 5:14 pm (Quote) | Reply |
I AGREE CIARA IS NOT IMPORTANT. SHE CAN FUCK OFF AND GO FUCK YOURSELF TOO.
OnJun 27, 2009 at 5:15 pm (Quote) | Reply |
Justin should perform ” It don’t matter if you’re black or white” -LOL. Obviously MJ was not prejudiced- why should we be in his death.

@ Joja86 … and the others?
(Sighhhh)….. I guess there is just NO informing the ignorant. You obviously didn’t read or comprehend a word that I said, or else you would have got, or at the very least understood my point. Why am I NOT really surprised though… I already expected it to go right over your head. I wrote an enlightening, factual post amongst a host of all these insults, degrading name calling, and down right fuckery. What else SHOULD I have expected? I suppose I could “do the right thing,” and dumb myself down to your level, and try to bring you up to mine, but WHY? REALLY. It is not that serious. Plus that would require me giving WAY more of my precious time than I am willing to give on this frivolous issue! World peace, and abolishing world hunger, maybe, but NOT a damn JT performance… please… let it go…lol. And that’s all I have to say about your little comment… you can go ahead on now and get on with your day.
Let the FUCKERY continue…….. LMBO…

Europe is very big Sweetheart. Speak in terms of your village coz ain’t no way you know every damn thang about THE WHOLE OF EUROPE. I am here in London right now and I see CIARA and Bey articles on the regular.
I know for a fact that Europe is very diverse with countries like Spain, Italy, Sweden etc very different from each other culturewise completely and different thangs musically going on at each cost you can’t possibly lump all them together.
I suggest that you speak of where in particular you from in Europe coz you come of as a lier talking bout you are informed of what’s going on Europe. It’s to big and diverse.
“I live in Europe”…LOL! that was funny.

OnJun 27, 2009 at 6:53 pm (Quote) | Reply |
i dont think so .
despite the fact that the BET awards celebrates the achievements of African Americans, Justin’s musical background gives him an advantage because his music was inspired by Michael (”Like I Love You”,ETC..)
Trust, Tmrw Justin and ALL the black folk will BREAKKK it DOWN in memory of michael ! lol
RIP

I am glad they put chris brown on the list I remember cb doing thriller tribute in london at the world music awards and he did justice, justin timberlake doesn’t bother me because he loved mj as did britney, the one person who could do dancing a lot of justice is wade robson as some of you guys have mentioned,
but I really hope they get MARIAH to do a ballad you know that women will bring tears to our eyes

lmao why everybody name bolded but usher’s? LOL.
OnJun 27, 2009 at 7:45 pm (Quote) | Reply |
So we can’t forgive Justin Timberlake, but can root for that woman beater to page tribute to his idol? What is worse? Beat a woman or expose her breast then play it off? Something seriously wrong with that kind of thinking.
OnJun 27, 2009 at 7:49 pm (Quote) | Reply |
I want to see a tribute to MJ as much as anyone, but I’m a little disappointed at the idea of anyone else singing his songs right now….I think they should just play the tracks with Michael on them & focus on putting together some really hot dance tributes to go with them…(& I think Mya should be in on it, cuz I love how she did that Janet routine some time ago)….
OnJun 27, 2009 at 7:54 pm (Quote) | Reply |
that’s what im saying. both love micheal and want to perform for his tribute and eveyone needs to shut up about the drama for now.
OnJun 27, 2009 at 8:07 pm (Quote) | Reply |
Obviously some people still haven’t gotten up from their computer screens to take a walk. There’s a real world out there folks! Whole paragraph is a contradiction. Thanks for my personal tribute, though TheYBF didn’t ask you to give me one. Save it for TMZ. LOL.

I am soooo elated that they are letting Chris Brown pay tribute. Its seems that every generation has there one star that channels Michael’s stage presence, you got your usher and now you got your Chris Brown and honestly he has done it the best thus far. I will be camped out in front of my tv the entire night! Its comeback time! Stephen Hill gets mad love for pulling this off!

All the ignorance and racism on this post is a shame!
It amazes me how stupid you people are!
YOU DON’T LIKE THE PERSON, DON’T WATCH THE DAMN SHOW!
Use your common sense… if you have any.
Justin Timberlake should perform. The Dream on the other hand, I don’t know what his purpose would be.

ciara is not big over in europe i have to agree with the person that said that ciara is not hot in europe. and dont make a fool out of yourself, because when you see the charts in europe (maybe you never looked them up) then the fact is that she´s not doing well. her song with that latino enrique guy was doing good. and her song feat. justin did in england well but overall it didn´t do well in other european country´s. her album is doing worse, i always check out the american, european, and australia charts and your wrong. offcourse you can read about ciara in the uk. but that doesn´t mean she´s doing well.

why r people saying chris brown is our michael jackson. his dance moves r on point but his voice sucks. It sounds like he’s spitting in the mic most of the time and that’s not cute. chris brown is just another mass produced gimmick, nothing special. His looks r what help him but he just doesn’t have the star power michael had. His music isn’t special. Michael brought something new and exciting to music, something that chris and no one else will probably ever do. At the end of the day there will never be another michael period

I can’t believe this turned into a black/white convo. It’s 2009 grow up. Timberlake was just as inspired by Michael Jackson as anyone else. So what if he’s white, so what about the dang super bowl, didn’t he apologize? We don’t know if him or Janet talked since then anyway. Plus this is not about Janet it’s about Michael and all the people he inspired and it was not only black people. Michael had fans off every background. Just grow up please. If you don’t like someone who’s showing tribute, no one is holding a gun to your head to watch it. Just STOP. Wouldn’t Mike want all the people he inspired there? Think for a second about what you’re typing because you’re coming across very racist, rude, and ignorant. Look around, open your eyes, life is NOT black and white. GOSH! When will this end?????
Rest in peace Michael Jackson. I’m 18y.o and grew up listening to his music thanks to my family and I’m honored to have had a chance to witness and listen to a legend. His music is timeless and he will live through his music. Rest in peace.

Justin and Beyonce should not be part of the tribute. Justin played Janet and Beyonce played the whole Jackson family. You can not disrepect people while living then turn around and pay tribute when they die. You dont talk about someone’s family like that then get up their like you have such respect for Michael.
Beyonce: ““I grew up upper class. Private school.” “My dad had a Jaguar. We’re African-American and we work together as a family, so people assume we’re like the Jacksons, but I didn’t have parents using me to get out of a bad situation.”
If someone were to not come to my family members defense or publicly try to humiliate my family i would not have this person singing a song or reading a passage at the funeral. BET would you also have Justin performing at a tribute for Prince or Beyonce for Lauryn Hill. Come on BET selling out for ratings. Justin and Beyonce are opportunist. Have respect for the dead. They both need to step back and learn some humility and watch the tribute from their seats in the audience at the awards show.

Was Michael giving Beyonce props after she slammed his family? Were Michael and Justin buddy buddy after the Janet incident? The Jacksons despite the family issues still appear to be a family that sticks together. Michael and Janet seem to be close. Janet always came to the aid of and defended Michael over the years. So do you really think Michael would not do or feel the same when someone attacks his little sister and family??? Come on do you not have a family? Would you want someone who disrespected your family member giving a tribute or singing a song at their funeral? Justin and Beyonce need to sit this one out.

Didn’t they say the Superbowl thing was rehearsed?
OnJun 29, 2009 at 10:34 am (Quote) | Reply |
I like Beyonce, but she was dead wrong this time. Singing Ave Maria in a swimsuit and a see thru wedding dress with your “virtue” conveniently exposed up front for the world to see was not giving homage to the Virgin Mary. She would have gotten the point across easier by singing “Wait til you see my —”. I thought she was going to have some wings and fly like an angel, not look like a ho bride on her wedding night in see through lingerie.

Wow the whole show was a joke! I dont get why Chris wasnt able to perform and yet BEYONCE who trashed that Jackson family a few months ago could. What a media whore. She spit on the Jackson family, and BET was dumb enough to let her on the stage to do her fake ass so called tribute! What a shame. And what exactly did Jay Z performance have to do with MJ? BET is whack.
RIP MICHAEL.
