Mariah Apologizes For Memorial Mess Up+UPDATES On Steve McNair’s & Mistress’ Deaths
Mariah Carey performed “I’ll Be There” at Michael Jackson’s memorial yesterday. And it appeared difficult for her to get through the song as her voice cracked often and she avoided certain notes. She took to Twitter right after her performance to explain. She writes:
“Trying to sing today was basically impossible for me. I could barely keep myself from crying. I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to pull it together and really do it right, but I was literally choked up when I saw him (Michael) there in front of me.
“One thing I know is, we will never really have to say goodbye to MJ. His legacy lives on through his music and the millions of people he inspired with his timeless music. He will be forever in our hearts.”
Her original backup singer on the song Trey Lorenz helped her finish the song. Even still, she still did a fabulous job memorializing MJ with his song.
More details about Steve McNair’s death are surfacing. The woman also found dead in the condo with him, Sahel Kazemi, is indeed looking like she was his mistress/girlfriend. Pictures have surfaced of the two on a romantic vacation together a few months ago. Sahel received a D.U.I. recently and Steve was in the car with her. Interestingly, the car was registered to both her and Steve.
The medical examiner has also come out today saying that gunpowder was found on Sahel. And she was likely the one who shot Steve McNair, then herself. It was already suspected that this was a murder/suicide as McNair had several gun shot wounds and Sahel only had one in her head. Sources confirm that she bought the gun two days before the deaths happened. She had to buy it from a private source as she was under the legal gun buying age in Tennessee of 21. Steve also supposedly stood her up on their planned trip to Vegas 2 weeks ago. This was looking like a bad situation all around from the beginning. Hopefully justice will still be served in some way. Even though that’s next to impossible.
Kazemi’s family told reporters that the woman was so confident McNair was divorcing his wife of 12 years that she was preparing to sell her furniture and move in with the former quarterback.

This issue with Steve is getting messier and messier. I know folks are human and all, but this is making me sick on my stomach. I’ve heard folks say he and his wife were separated and headed to divorce court, but it appears that was not true. I just hate it for his wife and their kids. It must be torturous to have to keep reading these blogs and news updates referring to your husband and father being killed alongside his mistress…that you never had an idea even existed.

No one’s life should be cheapen because they cheated on someone. I bet if it surface that he cheated because his wife cheated on him people would change how they felt about his death. He has a mother, a father (if still living) and other family members that cared for him regardless of what he did. And prayers esp out to his wife and children. I couldnt imagine what they are going thru finding out he was cheating.

Mariah is forgiven for being emotional, but like I said before her live performances for the last few years have been confusing…The Inauguration is one I can really think of chopping up Hero like that.

I am so sorry for Steve McNair’s family, especially his wife and children. They have to deal with the fact that he was killed, but he was found with his girlfriend…I couldn’t imagine. He didn’t deserve to die, but I’m having a hard time feeling sorry for him. Mariah was okay. I’ve heard worse. As for Steve McNair it’s a sad situation. He paid the price for living a double life. This should be a wake up call for everybody. You have to be very careful what you do and who you bring into your life because people don’t value life anymore and they will kill you and not think twice about it. No matter what is said about Steve McNair or the young lady involved they both have families that love them and it’s just a tragic situation.

foley did good on the Steve issue but some people handle funerals differently. My cosuins and I never knew my granddad till he was dying then i saw him more before he died. They cried but i didnt and we all saw him for a week before he died for the first time. Some people take death differently. I never have and perhaps never will cry for anyone dying except prob my mom and grandma. Death happens for a reason i believe. Young kids die at birth and ppl cry, could have turned out to be a serial killer or the next einstein you never know. It just happens so i really dont get emotional

Quincy Jones was one of MJ’s closest friends and he said that he wasn’t going, he had done enough funerals in his lifetime. My Big Mama (RIP) stopped going to funerals years ago, said the next one she attended was going to be her own, and she kept her word.

In my opinion, Jennifer Hudson is a much stronger person than Mariah. Besides, Mariah knew Michael and worked with him as well.

As far as Diana, Elizabether and Quincy Jones deciding not to attend because they were afraid it was going to turn into a circus is somewhat undertandable. It was MJ afterall, so things and his fans tend to be over the top. Yet, the memorial was peaceful, beautiful and very sober. I don’t know if they attended the private ceremony or not, that will tell you everything. Those people say they were friends, but i don’t question thier friendships, but when my bestfriend died, I was there. Words mean nothing. It’s how you show up physically, that mean everything. You only get few chances in life to show your loyalty and true love, and it’s always physical with coming through when a person has fallen, going to the hospital, visting him or her in jail, having that person back no matter what and funeral and births. If you don’t do funerals and births, you didn’t mean anything to that person.

I was watching the memorial with my sister and the first thing I said about Mariah when she was singing is “Mariah sounds a damn mess”…and my sister said she looked out of it, that she was so overwhelmed by the moment and was probably trying to hold back from crying. I did not think Mariah’s performance was all that bad considering the circumstances. It was easy to see that she was upset.
I do not know if she realized the body would be there.
Also, while Jenny did an EXCELLENT job, we do not know her relationship to Michael; while it is possible that Mariah has met Michael before and singing at his funeral would be upsetting to her. The only reason why I bring that up is because John Mayer made a point of mentioning his never meeting Michael on Larry King’s show and that is part of the reason why he chose to play his guitar rather than sing.

When you have vitiligo, it is easier to match the pigmented areas to the unpigmented areas (white). My mother has it and went from being an olive skinned woman to a white as this paper, woman. She would cover the pigmented skin with makeup by Dermablend, which is heavy and waterproof. Since the unpigmented area grows, it makes since to “turn white” than to mix the colors to match the colored areas, which are going to grow smaller and smaller. This is probably what MJ did. The skin goes completely white, it has no melanin and cannot tan. The hair can also lose its color and turn white. Therefore, you have to avoid the sun, which is also what MJ did. He did everything that people with vitiligo do.

Secondly, I missed Mariah but I will agree that lately, I have not been impressed with her vocals at all.
As for Steve, I work in the news business and here’s what’s about to surface…
He was apparently estranged from his wife but not legally divorced or seperated. The mistress apparently found out about ANOTHER girlfriend and that’s what set her off. While Steve was sleeping, she shot him point blank, backed up shot him two more times, then walked back up on him and shot him again. The woman then shot herself at close range while she stood over his dead body…hoping to land on his lap. Police say she was trying to re-enact how the story of Romeo and Juliet ended.
This girl clearly had some problems. And while Steve will be missed, he will probably be known for the way he died, than the way he played on the field. So sad.

Mariah wasn’t that bad, I think she sounded okay. Could she had done better and blew it away like she usually do, HELL YES! But it seems like her vocal cords took a beating over the years and now she has to train them again. But Mimi is still the number 1 diva in my book. And he dress was not that bad, with her taste that was modest for her.
As for Steve McNair, I’ am truly sorry that he lost his life to such mess and foolishness. People kill me when they say things like “Micheal lost it”…well I want to see YOU live the life Micheal had..with that childhood, abuse in his household (that always makes a person unstable growing up) add that to the fact that Micheal has been working since the age of ten and knew nothing else other then performing. Michael has always been insecure about his appearence. And when you are in the spotlight, your insecurities are magnified. Michael was the biggest star on the planet…he could not go anywhere without getting gawked at. The problem was that no one outside of who knew him, looked at him like a human being..we looked at him like an action figure.
I never once beleived Michael molested kids. We all know Michael didn’t have a childhood and therefor lived his through other children in trying to make them happy. Michael loved children too much to hurt them. I truely beleive that Michael always was around children because they were the only ones that understood him and never demanded anything from him other then to be himself. They didn’t judge Michael the way we do. Michael has always been assentric..but I think when he truely went downhill was during those molestation trials…I think they broke his spirit and Michael was never the same after that…people just piled on him and stressed him out so much to the point to where it drove him to an early grave. So for people that question Michales antics…I wonder how U would have delt with a life like Michaels.
I am just happy that Michael can rest now in peace..where he is no one can hurt him anymore and he is free to be whatever he wants to be without being judged. I think if any happiness comes out of all this its that. I am happy he doesn’t have to feel any pain no more, and now the King of Pop can perform the final concert (that he was practicing for) for the King of Kings.

What difference does it make if those were his biological kids or not? They were HIS children! He raised them, its no difference than people adopting children everyday. Angelina Jolie has adopted hella kids..but they are HER children because she raised them. Sara Jessica Parker and her husband just had twins, Sarah didn’t give birth to them, someone else did for her…but they are their children. Im confused on why this is such an issue?

Singing at a funeral is just about the hardest thing you can do. Even if you weren’t close to the person who died just seeing the grief on the family and friends can mess you up real bad.
