Kelis‘ reps just sent over the official statement regarding the birth of her and Nas‘ new baby boy Knight Jones:
“Kelis gave birth to Knight Jones last night on July 22nd around 9PM. Weighing a healthy 7.8lbs, the beautiful baby boy and his mother are doing wonderful. This was a natural birth and Kelis had been in labor since early Monday morning around 2AM. Knight was delivered in a NYC hospital with her mother and sister in the room.
Sounds like reports of Nas NOT being bedside and Kelis being in labor for over 24 hours are indeed true. Congrats on the new baby boy! I’m sure he’s a cutie.
Kelis just Tweeted this morning:
Ok so I did it, he’s 7.8 pounds of the greatest stuff on earth…I was in labor for 3 of the longest most painful days of my life. I don’t understand when women say they don’t remember giving birth…I will remember for the rest of my life. He’s kinda perfect btw :)

You are so Damn Dumb!! But, I’m going to respond. If you can not depend on your HUSBAND, who can you depend on besides GOD??? When you get a husband you will understand. His money should be her money and her money should be his. He should be there sober and happily married anyway. Stop trying to blame her for his bad behavior!! Next, the for word for today is HUSBAND. Look that up in the Bible and Dictionary and see what you find. Then mediate on that. The bible says a man should treat as wife as he do the church. I’m sure NAS wouldn’t treat the church any old kind of way or his ass would burn in HELL!
Women yall need to stop making excuses for these men who do not step up to the plate. Because remember what goes around comes around. In my book he is worse then Eddie Murphy. A women having to go through a pregnancy alone and has a husband is terrible. To big and swollen and your husband looking and hangiing out with video chicks is sad. This chick has been through HELL give her a break.
If someone need a maturity lesson it is NAS. Also, ladies it is time to let the thugs go and get a mand that loves JESUS and knows how to treat a women!

Since I don’t really know why Nas was not in the room with Kellis. I will just say congratulations to both. This is sadly turning into a “hate Nas at any cost” situation.
If rumours are true about the two, I hope they both can get to a place in their where they can respect each other and love their son unconditionally.

“I don’t understand when women say they don’t remember giving birth…I will remember for the rest of my life.”
I used to think the same thing but since having my daughter 2 1/2 years ago I can honestly say that I don’t remember the. I guess that explains why some woman keeps going for me…
Thu, July 23, 2009 9:37 AM
ITA With you nobody know anything to me it has to be something hella crazy for a man not to be there.Oh well i take that back my dad was fishing, lol but hey i was his 6th child, lol but i wish them the best, glad mother &child are doing well.
Thu, July 23, 2009 9:38 AM
Congratulations on a healthy & I’m sure beautiful baby & RESPECT to Kelis for going through a natural birth in labor for 24 hours!!! WOW
And for the record, I heard that Nas was indeed there when the baby was born…he was not in the room for the delivery but did see the baby soon after delivery
He is however a bit of an idiot for being drunk & celebrating while she was still in labor…smh

Thu, July 23, 2009 1:18 PM
Wow, I didn’t know labor lasted 3 days….geez. I feel for her and it was a natural birth ouch! But at least the end product was worth it with her healthy son. Nas….SMH. Let the petty stuff go and step up for your son.
Thu, July 23, 2009 1:36 PM
Congratulations, Kelis. Your baby deserves more than that drunken trash for a father.
Thu, July 23, 2009 3:23 PM
petty azz woman.. I can’t stand women like this. He was there but not let in the room.. everyone is reporting that.
We already can seee how it is going ot go in order for him tobe able to see his kid. He gonna be dragging the ball still around with him just to see his kids.. Just like any desperate women goes.. watch!! prove you are better than him kelis.. b/c all this petty twitting and telling folks your biz is so high schoolish and childish.
They way she was solicting hookers in Fl he need to get a blood test for real. And don’t be one of those guys who just sign the ceritficate just because..i hope he got a blood test. pEriod!!!! Then take care of his child….
won’t even let him see the birth.. not about you Kelis be bigger than a dumb negro.. Grow up for you child.
Thu, July 23, 2009 3:28 PM
this headline should be Kelis welcomes son….
Thu, July 23, 2009 5:52 PM
Me too, I don’t remember and my son is only 6mths old. After a while she will forget it. After giving birth women always make that statement, then after awhile realize that they forget it all, even the lack of sleep and midnight feedings
Thu, July 23, 2009 6:14 PM
Congrats…welcome new baby!

I don’t understand why ppl say stuff about nas. Kelis (even though I am a fan, she’s one of the few I purchase) knew what she was getting into I read carmen’s terrible book, and even though it wasn’t that well written it didn’t sound like a lie. Black women need to wake the hell up and stop giving these losers muliple chances to eff up and not take responsibilty for their actions and bringing so many children in the world w/o being an active parent regardless if the women are great parents or not. Raising kids is not easy or a game & ppl that make that foolish claim must be doing something wrong. I hope this makes sense
