They went to a Jenny Craig Sponsored Event? I don’t even get the joke, but then again I didn’t watch RHOA that closely.
As for why the show was the #1 rated show, it’s not about the people’s capacity for BS, as the ocean’s ‘cast’ puts it. I think it’s because we are STARVED, literally STARVED to see women of color on tv. And not in some whack “girlfriends” way with tacky weaves and horrible storytelling/acting.
So we patronize foolishness like the RHOA on Bravo, and then we see it’s beneath us, then we move on.
Think about it, In what other way do we see beautiful, successful (sorta) Black women on tv, living lifestyles that are somewhat interesting?

Real Housewives of New Jersey was the “realest” IMO. Then again I haven’t seen every episodes of the other ones and the few I’ve watched of Atlanta they all seem to be “faking” it like I don’t believe they have as much money as they pretend to and most of the celebs they brag about knowing are “has beens” hell most of the celebs in Atlanta are “has beens” but I don’t even think before the show they knew those celebs and I’m sure they don’t kick outside of the show. It is true what they are saying about RHWOA but I think most people watch them not because they admire them but because it is PURE ENTERTAINMENT, period. Personally, the Atlanta housewives aren’t that different from all the others in the series it is all fake, lights, camera and action. But I most people watch it because it is mostly black women on television which we don’t see often so we watch it weather it is ignorant.
