Jay-Z Sells Out & Kanyes Eminem
Jay-Z is officially in another realm. He sold out his upcoming show at London’s Alexandra Palace (November 4th) in just 15 seconds just this morning. This is after his tickets for his Sept. 18th concert he did at London’s Roundhouse sold out in just a few hours. It’s f’n Jay-Z mania in the UK.
Hov also sent in his acceptance speech for his “Hottest MC In the Game” Award from MTV. He pulled a Kanye and said Eminem deserved to be on the list because he outsold damn near everybody this year:
“MTV, Thanx for this nod of appreciation,” Jay wrote. “Although I don’t strive to be ‘hot’ for any particular year, I thank you for the acknowledgment. My whole goal is to be recognized as the best ever. I created the term ‘best rapper alive’ as a sign of respect to my fallen comrades (Biggie and Tupac). I believe I’ve allowed a significant grace period, and I believe I would not be respecting myself if being the absolute best was not my goal, and that’s why I continue to push myself until exhaustion … salute.

I think you do the credibility of this list a disservice if you don’t thoroughly explain his omission,” Jay continued. “As of this second he has the highest selling rap album of the year and a scene stealing verse on the best ‘posse’ cut of the year. Cute but not funny until I see it … I just saw a post on GG where he said M.J. was a back up vocalist on his “Girls, Girls, Girls” song but he never put his name on the credits of the album …. wow that was nice of M.J. to you, it goes to show what type of person he was … a man about the music and the craft but not the money. THIS! I’m a former Eminem fan and even to this day, I still believe he’s a good MC but after awhile, you realize that he’s limited. His anger towards EVERYTHING was perfect for my badass wannabe 12 yo self lol but now, I’m just like ‘grow up or stfd’.
That being said, as shitty as I thought it was, his album did sell so I’m glad Jay-Z called MTV out.

Not wanting to hate on Jay but I know from past experience of trying to get tickets that it isn’t necessarily fans buying up the tix. Usually what happens is they get sold out superfast by parasites who then sell them on a few well known UK sites for ridiculous prices. I know people who’ve done it and made serious money ’cause they know fans want tix. But Jay and the like are making their money off ticket sales either way so it doesn’t really matter to them.
