Why do I feel like Sony searched thru Michael Jackson’s back catalog HOPING he had a demo with the words ‘This Is It’ in it 2 tie it 2 the movie? I have a feeling i’m gonna be mildly irritated on MJ’s behalf each time in the future his ppl put out songs that he purposefully didn’t release. MJ was perfectionism personified. It bugs me this “new” Michael Jackson song is essentially a Dangerous-era demo they’re using 2 capitalize. Mike, if ur listening from heaven, boo: “This Is It” is a pretty song, but as one of ur stans, I can tell why u cut that sucka & left it in yo’ Vaults. I still love and miss you!
Mon, October 12, 2009 8:20 AM

O WELL CAN’T WAIT FOR THE MOVIE! THEY’RE ALREADY PRESELLING TICKETS HERE

Mon, October 12, 2009 8:39 AM
I don’t think the song is that bad actually. It’s truly a MJ song and it seems like it would go great with the movie.
Mon, October 12, 2009 8:48 AM

This song was recorded in 1990 or something & I think some of his brothers did the back vocals. SO yes it sounds old cause IT IS. Lol
Mon, October 12, 2009 9:21 AM
Good Morning – This IS It….
Mon, October 12, 2009 9:23 AM
This song sounds like it’s not finished. This is not totally MJ.
Mon, October 12, 2009 9:34 AM
You mean you can finally “hear” it, not “here” it. Doing that is like fingernails on a chalkboard. EEEEKKK.
Mon, October 12, 2009 9:41 AM
It’s nice to hear something from Michael that I’ve never heard before. For a rough demo it’s really impressive, his voice sounds strong. I can only imagine how the rough demos of some of today’s popular artist sound (sans autotune). I do wonder if they could have mastered the track better.
Mon, October 12, 2009 9:52 AM
From what I understand, the song was not finished. That it is in fact a demo. Beautiful job, nonetheless. Michael’s vocals were on point as always.
Love Michael forever. He is the best.
Michael Jackson 1958-FOREVER
Mon, October 12, 2009 9:53 AM
It sounds old because it old…This song was actually a demo he wrote for SaFire called “I Never Heard”. What I wonder is if this song would have even seen the light of day again if he was alive?
I still love Michael and his work and I hope that any other songs that are released are done to his standards.
Mon, October 12, 2009 10:00 AM
I think it will be great after it’s remixed. But sounds like the MJ direction he was going before he died. It’s okay. lol.
Mon, October 12, 2009 10:01 AM
Luv it! Miss u……..
Mon, October 12, 2009 10:26 AM

Sony is STILL pimping Michael for dollars.
You tube Michael Jackson, I never heard. And you will hear this song that he wrote for a an artist named Safire.

very beautiful song by my love.
it breaks my heart everytime I hear him say “This Is It” though.
Feels like hes talking right to me.
Mon, October 12, 2009 11:07 AM
I like it very much. it is simple, and is fitting with the movie.
I just got my tickets this weekend for the movie, the clerk said some shows are already sold out. Where were all the new MJ fans when he was alive?
But it is all good, the more the merrier. get your ticket soon, the movie will be in theater for only 2 weeks.
Mon, October 12, 2009 11:07 AM
i am a mj fan but this song was just ok for me. i think this was an unfinished track for the bad or dangerous album.
Mon, October 12, 2009 11:09 AM
I love the song!! He sounds wonderful and strong. but i also agree that he probally would not have released this song if he was alive and that its not done to his standars. And i really wish that people would let him rest in peace, because everytime something “new” comes out after he has already passed, it breaks my heart all over again. I love MJ and i just feel like people are basically “going behind his back” and putting things out virtually without his stamp of approval. And its not right.
Mon, October 12, 2009 11:31 AM
This is definitely vintage MJ music. Although I do think the song was recenlt recorded. On the MJ website it says that this was one of two versions of this song along with a couple of demos, so obviously the songs weren’t completed the way MJ would have wanted before they were released. I like it though I know I would have liked it even better with the finishing touches.
Mon, October 12, 2009 11:32 AM
Meant to add it’s sounds even earlier than Thriller to be honest. More like Tiumph era

Mon, October 12, 2009 12:36 PM
This song is definitely not finished! Ugh! I hope they clean this up before officially releasing this. I love u Michael!!!!!!!!!!
Mon, October 12, 2009 12:49 PM
CLEARLY not a finished song, nor mixed or mastered. The vocal distortion is clear. Why would they put this up without completing it? SMH @ them. But as far as the song itself I enjoyed it. Rest In Peace Michael.
Mon, October 12, 2009 1:32 PM
i like the song, he sounds beautiful and it’s simple
Mon, October 12, 2009 2:08 PM
I absolutely adore this song!
Mon, October 12, 2009 2:40 PM
Yes the song was not finished and I agree that it should be mastered better … I don’t think it would have gotten M.J.’s stamp of approval but oh well he isn’t here to do a bagging job but I know a few producers who are perfectionist like him and could probably clean it up and will be allowed to do so in the future.
I was balling my eyes out after listening a few times. Miss you M.J.until the day I die.
Mon, October 12, 2009 3:25 PM
sounds daMN good to me … I love u Michael always and forever.. and this is NOT it… u will live on forever!
Mon, October 12, 2009 6:22 PM
I LOVED IT, AND I JUST LOVE MJ, BUT HONESTLY I REALLY FIND MYSELF PUTTING HIS SONG “BUTTERFLIES” CONSTANTLY ON REPEAT ON MY IPOD!
Mon, October 12, 2009 10:06 PM
Well, what I thought of the song has already been said. The song is alright and doesn’t sound finished. It also sounds like it fit in with music that came out about 15-20 years ago. MJ most likely wasn’t satisfied with it which is why it didn’t make it on ‘Dangerous’.
Does anyone know if Michael was going to release this song himself? Did Sony just find a song called ‘This is It’ and release it? I don’t think this song would have been released while Michael was alive. Since he grew up around a lot of the Motown greats, he learned about writing tons of songs and picking from them. This is one I don’t think he would have chosen. As someone said earlier, Sony is pimping Michael, out even in death.
Tue, October 13, 2009 12:32 AM
I love the song–it’s the old Michael J at best. I miss him sooo much…I still can’t believe he’s gone.
Tue, October 13, 2009 11:04 AM

Tue, October 13, 2009 4:05 PM
