For me, the difference is between enhancing and pretending something is yours. When a woman wears a weave, for example, every day of her life and wouldn’t be caught dead without one, to the extent that nobody even knows what her real hair looks like, this is beyond “doing things to enhance your look”. Enhancing your look is coloring your hair, applying lipstick, putting on mascara to enhance your OWN lashes, things you also pointed out. Not gluing, sewing or otherwise attaching prosthetic hair. That is quite different from pretending to be/have something you don’t.
These things are not so far apart as you claim, clearly in justification of your own “enhancements”. When I was coming up, it was a complete faux pas to wear a weave and women didn’t admit it. Now they go on t.v. to talk about it like it’s the most normal thing in the world. It’s a slippery slope.
BTW, I’m not the “melodramatic” type. My idea of ridiculous just obviously differs from yours. Wearing fake hair, nails and lashes every day is ridiculous to me. Why don’t some folks know how to converse/debate without name calling?
