Last night, YBF celebs hit up the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC to celebrate Alicia Keys‘ Keep A Child Alive Benefit Black Ball. Halle Berry looked gorgeous as usual and snapped some pics with the woman behind the event Alicia. This event benefits children and families with HIV/AIDS in Africa & India.
Y’all know Alicia’s boo Swizzy was there. He snapped a pic with Gayle King.
Robin Thicke and his fab wife Paula hit the black carpet.
Iman looked stun-tastic in this shimmery tulle embellished cocktail dress.
And Halle, rocking a cut out and backless Kaufman Franco dress, brought her man Gabe along.

Kerry Washington rocked a long black gown with white origami embellishments. I actually love the detail, but the fishtail hem is throwing me off.
Robin looked dapper in his grey shimmery suit.
Paula got boldly colorful and pulled it off nicely.
Usher made an appearance. Solo of course.
Mary and Kendu love them some leather and exotic textiles…
Tyson looked dapper.
Gayle King also hit the carpet in a champagne colored embroidered cocktail dress. Nice necklace. Didn’t beed the bracelets or the wide belt with it though.
I feel like somebody needs to tap Roland Martin on his shoulder and just ask “Why?” I mean, I guess a full out white dashiki could play into what the evening was about. But um….yeah.
Estelle rocked a black long sleeved dress that honestly could have doubled as a female officer’s uniform.
And Spike and his wife Tonya hit the carpet.
Inside the Gala, Nick Cannon kicked it with Tyler Perry.
While Halle chatted it up with Iman and Kerry.
Lawyer Londell McMillian was there.
Queen Latifah gave a speech.
Tyler also kicked it with Halle, L.A. and Erica Reid.
And Alicia performed for her guests. She brought Chris Martin of ColdPlay on stage and John Mayer also performed.

Although I’d like to think that at some point the positive that she’s doing for the world through her music and her work might just obscure the negative that/s in her personal life. After all, Tucan Sam won’t be the first ungrateful bastard to leave his wife and child “for” another woman. No news there. If she really is part of that problem, then the road to hell is wide and she seems to be happily walking the path for herself. My thoughts: Women choose to ignore things sometimes. They don’t want to see what is right there in front of them. Every woman I know has been in a relationship with a man and KNEW daggone well he was not giving 100%, not even 50% maybe. Yet we only wanted to see what we wanted to see. Okay, all the women look great, and I love the back of Halle’s dress….while Kerry Washington’s couture looking self is refreshingly sweet. However, I think Paula Patton is KILLLING the whole situation. Life isn’t a competition, but she just looks UBER gorge to me. If Alicia Skeez and Swiss Cheatz truly had remorse for what they are doing they would at lest have enough respect and empathy for his wife and child to chill the hell out. I agree with Oh Please, everybody so quick to form an opinion with one side of the story. We don’t know if Mashonda was creeping, she certainly wouldn’t cop to it and since AK & Swizz are quiet, we don’t know if that was even the case. Yes, it is wrong to sleep with a married man, but if it’s only on paper & not in his heart, then IDK. No woman can TAKE what doesn’t want to be taken. If they were solid 2 begin with, it wouldn’t gone down in the 1st place. Sometimes shit happens despite best intentions.
Anyway, AK’s been doing this kind of charity work practically her whole career, why would she stop now? I think folks are so quick to point the finger at her because until now, she hardly ever had any negative press.

I beg to disagree to people who are saying Alicia did this for show. She has had this organization for sometime now and if I remember correctly, Oprah brought her on her show and she donated one million dollars to Alicia’s org, way before this Swizz guy came along.
I just don’t get it when people become all worked up about Alicia being a home wrecker. Marriage is much more than a court document. It should be about trust, understanding, love, tolerance, passion. But if these things are not there, then I don’t care what a piece of paper says. True people fall out of love, decide to live their separate lives but that doesn’t mean they can’t love another person until that paper is no longer valid.
Nobody can wreck anyone’s marriage. The people in that marriage wreck it themselves. When love goes wrong, move on. This goes for both men and women.
