I am a Londoner, and I hated Cheryl Cole’s performance . She cant sing and cannot dance. Whitney was not as bad as Cheryl cole but whitney was ON something, whitney was not 100% LIVE, she had a backing track and her voice was weak.Whitney did not even know when her album would be out in the uk or when her UK Concert dates are…Dermot had to help her. Dermot actually helped her a lot b/c I know Dermot back in Channel4 days and he could have left her hanging and in the ISH.

What’s wrong with being biracial? People act like that’s a sin or a bad, imaginary word.
What about her white, biological mother? Does she suddenly disappear or become irrelevant just because she’s not black.
What if Alicia had a white mother and an Asian father? Is she Asian just because one part of her is a minority, so the other part gets cancelled out?

@ It’s just like that: President Obama , Alicia Keys, Halle Berry are all Biracial but they choose to identify themselves as African American or Black. Nobody is forcing them to say they are black, they are proud of being black even though they are bi-racial. I am sorry but Whitney’s performance on the X-Factor was almost cringeworthy. She was OBVIOUSLY high. Just as she was also OBVIOUSLY high during the Oprah interview.
Yes, she is doing a LOT better than previously and I wish her all the best on her journey, but there is still a ways to go. Good Luck Whitney we want you back!

I am the #1 Whitney Houston fan and at this point I had to accept the fact that Whitney’s voice is not what it used to be. With that said she is still the greatest singer of all time because I havent heard anyone yet who had the voice that she had. I love the way she came out on stage it gave me chills and I feel like at this point she still will sell out shows because we are just glad that she is back and has overcame! I WILL ALWAYS LOVE WHITNEY!!! She doesnt owe us anything else because what she has given the game can never be undone!

We sometimes dont even realize it when we participate in it and thats the sad part. I think Alicia is a positive BLACK woman and there are people out there who are 100% Black and that are still out of touch!! This right here is what I’m talking about. All of a sudden I am not proud of my heritage? All I’m saying is that biracial people should be allowed to be themselves. Yes, you have some who consider themselves to be black, but I bet if they were not made to feel like they had to choose simply because of the archaic “one-drop rule” or because of how other people see them, they wouldn’t automatically choose to not acknowledge the other side of them. The reality is that they are not just black. And there’s nothing wrong with that.
To say that a person is one specific race just because one of their parents is, is pretty strange. I mean, if that’s the case, you could just as easily call them white, because that’s what one of their parents is as well.
I know many biracial people who do not like when one side of them is disregarded. And I could only imagine what their non-black parent feels like when people constantly want to call their child black, when that’s not all that they are.
And the “one-drop rule” needs to be left in the past. It is divisive and just an opinion. And you bring up Obama who I’ve never even heard call himself a “black” man. People saw that he looked black and just ran with it. And then Alicia, in particular, is another person who considers herself to be mixed, but again you have people who still want to call her black. Or as some have posted on here, calling her a “positive BLACK woman.” What’s wrong with just saying that she’s a positive woman?
I know that we feel better when we can point at someone and have them be our representatives, but she actually represents other ethnicities too.
By lumping her into one category, it’s just like breaking off a piece of something, then running around claiming that what you are giving back is the whole thing.
