Chris Brown: I Wasn’t Surprised People Turned Their Backs On Me

Well Chris Brown is just making his publicity rounds today now isn’t he? He spoke to Big Boy’s Neighborhood this morning during his “community service”, leaked his next single “Crawl”, recently shot the cover for VIBE magazine’s comeback issue (dropping in December), and just wrapped up a lengthy personal interview on Hot 97 this afternoon.
Breezy chatted it up with the homie Angie Martinez about how only Will Smith and Diddy repped for the older men reaching out to him, how really hurt he is by Oprah’s comments, his bowtie issues, and how he’s transforming.
Yes, it’s like beating a dead horse. But it’s one of very few times Chris is actually speaking his mind and not giving his rehearsed answers.
*eyebrows raised @ Chris being the new VIBE’s debut coverboy. Interesting…*

Is that the picture the vibe cover or his album cover? I really like it. I have never been a CB fan and I dislike Diddy but Diddy and Will Smith are the only smart men out of all them other black male celebs. When a young kid does something wrong you help him so that he never makes that mistake again, not abandon him!! Thats what you all did to MJ most black folks demonized him and when he dies you jump on the bandwagon! No wonder MJ went and got white kids.
I love Oprah but she should know better than anyone else if a young boy is involved in domestic violence you don’t condone it but can still help so that it never happens again, not abandon him, like thats going to help the situation.
Good for CB he seems strong, after the way her got treated I would have left the country for good lol

First, I am all for this young man moving on with his life but he needs to stop the crap about how other people reacted to his actions. Who cares? Boo-hooing about Oprah? That is her opinion (wrong or right) and how she chose to address.
How is it that someone I make a mistake then keep talking about how other people reacted? Get over yourself. What did he expect? Unconditional love from the world? Sorry, boo.. this is the world we live in. In life, there are those who like you and those who don’t. Can’t change that.
Second, in order for people to move on, like some posters are writing on here, it might be nice if he stopped talking about it. Like Natasha said, “beating a dead horse”. As he continues to speak on this (unless he is talking about educating other young men and women about hurting each other or how he has grown), he should expect reactions that are both supporting and those that are backlashes.
Third, Chris just focus on your counseling, growing, healing, learning and making some music.
All the best to him and Rihanna.

And he should get used to the fact that this will be part of his career and legacy. Period. Anytime he is talked about, even in a positive light, there will be a paragraph on his conviction. Heck, this is life. MJ, despite NO CONVICTION, still gets dogged by child molestation accusations. People still know Clinton was messing with Monica. Can’t erase it, despite how unfair it is. CB needs to realize that he now has a record. Maybe if he realizes that, he can truly move on from that incident.

And I truly hope no one ever has to experience abuse from the partners. It is a cancer and a human rights violation. Which is why I am shocked by how people are reacting to this. It is ok to support Chris but it should not be at the expense of Rihanna. People saying she deserved it is really sad and speaks to some of the serious identity issues facing young men and women.
OnOct 21, 2009 at 5:27 pm (Quote) | Reply |
Ok heres my five cents…Chris Brown beat up Rihanna. What about Rihanna fighting him and scratching him up? I am not making an excuse nobody knows what happened. Rihanna thought Chris was cheating, started a fight, hit Chris but didn’t expect to get hit back. It’s not a domestic violence thing like everyone is making it out to be. Domestic violence is when someone in the relationship is CONSTANLEY being abused. They have ONE fight. The movie “The Burning Bed” is a good example of domestic violence. Can everyone PLEASE stop making Chris out to be the poster boy of this issue? They are women who really suffer from this everyday. I am sure Chris has learned a valuable lesson from this. He appologized and is trying to move on. There are rappers out there who are on tape abusing women and people just look the other way. Treat these people the same way you treated Chris. I am pretty sure they still love each other but because of politics can’t be with each other. So sad.

Sorry if I choose not to cry a river over Chris Brown. So were supposed feel sympathy for him because he dosen’t have the support he wants?? Give me a freakin a break!! He’s an adult not a child. There are many young men out there who may have seen abuse in their homes and don’t brutally beat up their women. He knew he had a problem before these incidents with Rihanna so as an adult he shouldve got the counseling he needed! He is not 12 years old, he knows this behavior is wrong being it was NOT the first time. So he gets a big ol WOMP from me!!

There’s far more serious issues in the black community than these two celebs! Yes it was wrong, but are you telling me rihanna is not over it? Fortunatly there is no long term physical damage and she has the money to get counselling and hopefully her next relationship with whoever she dates will be much more positive.
What about all the black kids that don’t even know who thier dad is? What about the black men that have 5 kids with 5 different women and didn’t even marry any of them? Oh thats not important because thier not famous. If only folks put in the same amount of energy that they put in the crhianna issue

OK, if we’re going to say that “we don’t know what really happened” means that you’re taking in the possibility that both people could be guilty, not just use it as a way to blame Rihanna INSTEAD of Chris Brown.
Also, how are you going to say that you don’t know what happened and then give a blow by blow account of what happened. Come on now.

It is clear that they had an unhealthy relationship, but as of now, there was only one conviction. Yes, many famous men have beaten up women. But few beat up a famous celebrity at the top of her game. Which is why I compare him more to Ike Turner (not saying Chris’s actions are similar) since both beat popular women and one thing people don’t like is when their fave female singer gets beaten. Believe me, Jay’z’s career would be so OVA if he laid a hand on Beyonce.
And a quick correction. Domestic physical violence is not about being “constantly” abused. It takes only one act between intimate partners. Which is why Chris Brown was convicted on that sole act. This is the law.

Great point. Celebrities are an outlet for people by which people can live their fantasies. They are projected to be full of glamour and wealth and more interesting.
However, I would not say the Chrihanna issue is not one worth looking it. What happened between these two VERY young celebrities was something that occurs every day. Celebrities are human at the end of the day and their issues emulate those going on in every day lives. And of course people will focus more on it because they are famous. For example, Eddie Murphy is a deadbeat dad. I see it everyday except he is famous so more people know about it.

Thank you LaLa. One of the few people on here with common sense. So tired of people throwing shade at him. I’m not saying he was right nor am I saying he was wrong. No one has even heard Rihanna speak on the situation yet they all have something to say. People make effin’ mistakes. Some learn from them and become a better person while others don’t. Some of you sit here and talk smack, but I bet if your bf or hubby was whooping your ass some of you would still stay with him. Heck some of you are probably the abusers. I believe in Self Defense. There is no way a male or female will raise a finger on me without me getting in some hits. Let’s do better. As for YBF what is the raising of the eyebrow for? I am so tired of this argument. i am all about redemption, but i don’t think he truly understands what he did. It’s one thing to get in a fight, but another to choke a person to death and then when she passes out, leave her for dead. It’s called a boderline personality. It’s dangerous. If he snapped once without getting the proper help, he will snap and do it again. It’s just a matter of time. The backlash will probably be the one thing that will not land him in jail for the rest of his life.
I don’t care for his album. Don’t care for his apologies. If she would have died, possibly choked to death, it would be more serious. I admit, I once grabbed a girl the wrong way because she wouldn’t get out of my room. I apologized for almost a year and left that girl alone because she triggered something in me I knew could become detrimental to me. I’m not violent, but that girl really made me want to kill her. hahaha. So i left her alone because I was like she will be the end of my college life. I will give this one advice, don’t play with fire. Sometimes people are fire.

Bunch of self righteous folks. This just proves my statement about how some of you are abusers pointing fingers. This incident happened in february right? We’re now in October. That’s about 8 months of recovery. Rihanna was out and about like a week or two after this incident. If she was shaken, she would have gotten herself some counseling and stayed away from the limelight a bit. Let’s not forget they are celebrities. They do things for more publicity. Everyone wanted to Breezy to speak on what happened and when he does some of you can’t handle it, WTF! The boy is human. When someone does something wrong they are corrected. He is obviously trying to move in a more positive direction and it kills you people. Had Jay Z done some ish like this, how many of you would be talking smack? Let the man live his life. Just be glad it wasn’t you. This is why Woman remain under men because we choose to be vulnerable rather than defending ourselves. Rihanna and Chris are back to making their music. Ding Dong move the hell on!

You cant put a story together with pieces homie. for one, Chris been talkin bout this fan appreciation tour, it was one of the things he tweeted. and hes had dates for his tour since earlier this month. just cuz you got caught up in the rihanna release and are just catching wind of his tour doesnt make you right. secondly, do u have a degree in psychology? Who are you to say someones mentally unstable?
U must not be lookin at this situation from hind site and have no real knowledge about rihannas personality or Chris’ personality. If you did you’d know that the situation is not the same. and no two people are the same.

Big O was right to say what she did about Chris Brown. Good for her and Chris Brown should seat the PHuck down and get a education.
Chris Brown did not slap RiRi…he violently beat her up and tried to strangle her to death. If you have any clue about violence in relationships you know that he has done this before. He started with small things, maybe a slap or a punch and now its increased. Since, he cannot get hold of her he now stalks her. I am not the only one who knows this

I can’t wait to see you get your dumb ass beat. You musta grown up in as house full of domestic violence because you wanna find a way to make light out of a man that can’t keep his hand or his temper in check. That says a lot. You’re a fuckin loser!!!!

I don’t want to insult anyone by implying their loyalty and devotion to an abuser is based on youth but I believe it is. If Chris Brown was an unattractive guy that looked like (insert an unattractive celeb here) people wouldn’t be so quick to defend him. It is shocking to me as an older woman to hear other women say that “she deserved it” or “he made a mistake”. WOW! He punched her repeatedly in the face…that’s not a mistake that’s rage. I caution those of you defending him (and getting offended while you’re at it!) to be careful that abuse doesn’t sneak up on you. It hurts to be hit whether your man is handsome and talented like Chris Brown or the ugliest dude on the planet. Be careful what you teach your daughters about this situation also. Domestic violence is on the rise amongst teenagers, especially minority teenagers.

He is damned if he do…damned if he don’t…Who are we to judge him really? Oprah too…she judged him…It is obvious that even now he is protecting Rihanna…Just by him saying “no one knows what went on in the car but us” lets me know that there is possibly alot more to the story…Not justifying him hitting her, but just knowing that he didn’t just beat her down on GP…I feel he made a major mistake and he should be forgiven…he is owning up to it…So let him be….

wow some ppl on here need so serious help *cough ashley cough*
i dont get it, why cant u just let him move on, u dont kno him, u dont kno wat happened in that car, but i can dame sure tell rihanna aint as innocent as u think and i can tell u she hit him to, i mean do u really think he just got in the car and started hitting her for no reason and she just sat there at took it????? no
im not condeming it but im not gonna turn my back on him for some chick that i dont even kno
at the end of the day hes here to entertain us with his talent not his personal life so when i listen to his music or when i see him dancing his behind off on tv i dont think about wat he did i think about wat im listening to or watching cause thats all were supposed to do
and to the ppl saying that he wanted sympathy
no he didnt say that, if u took the time and actually listened to what he said instead of putting words into his mouth u would know that he said some ppl (meaning ppl in the industry) could of told him that it wasnt right and could of gave him words of wisdom instead kicking him down at his lowest
and to those who sayed a regular person would be in jail he should be grateful
uuummm no a regular person would have not went to jail, my “uncle” did waaaaaaaaaay worse to my aunt and his children but didnt even get that much time
and if ur gonna blame him for his wrongs saying he should of known better, well blame rihanna to, shes older than him and still did it, if ur gonna blame one for their wrongs please blame the other for there wrongs too cause i dont do that one way street thing that yall be doing
the thing that u guys do is u guys alway look at their gender, if their a male its automatically their fault just b/c their a guy and they “should of known better to put their hands on a female” well damn it the female was wrong for putting there hands on the male too(and this is comming from a female)but no, see females always say they want to be treated equally to men but when situations like these come up i guess that gets thrown out the window doesnt it
and juding by these comments some of u really have some growing up to do and thats sad coming from me cause im really young im probably the youngest one on here but hey im mature for my age and obviously more mature than some ppl on here
sorry for any speeling errors

chris need not worry, all the dummies who judged and condemned him without knowing the facts are gone out or going out of the media soon before the next election. and that includes the very dumb oprah winfrey. white folks want her azz for supporting barack, when she knows she sposed to do ONLY what pleases them.
and as far as the jealous jerk who set him up by provoking him, she’s getting her’s too. she thought chris would be dumb enough to make her a beyonce. WRONG! she so jealous of beyonce it is unreal.

Honestly I tried listening to the interview and I just can’t. I realized that I just don’t want to hear his voice. Many of you will say I am “throwing shade”, being “self righteous”, or the ever-popular “Won’t let him live”. Truthfully, there are some things that make it impossible for me to see someone as just as an entertainer. Same with Roman Polanski, R. KElly and the late M.J. In these instances I can’t justify spending my hard earned dollars on them.
More power to you guys who support your dude to the fullest, but my main issue is that after seeing that photograph…hearing anything except “I take full responsibility. I turned into a monster I didn’t know. There is no excuse and no one owes me anything.” Hearing about how people should be “human” towards him and whoever supported him or didn’t is ridiculously out of place, IMHO. It makes me think he still doesn’t grasp the full concept of his actions, and how that impacts (sane) women, who are the bulk of his audience.
Another thing to Angie & Chris: The same kind of people who beat women to a blood pulp are also the same kind of people who have fun and joke on the radio. The two are not mutually exclusive, lol.

Seriously, I’ve never beaten someone, who I outweighed by 50 lbs., so bad that they had horns on the side of their head and blood splattered all over the car and on their clothing. I don’t know what YOU guys do in your spare time, but since when did that constitute being a ’saint’? Everyone deserves forgiveness, but I also believe in not hastening to overlook harmful behavior. It is *my* opinion that I don’t feel comfortable supporting Chris as an entertainer, but judging by this blog he has nothing to worry about.

Ok so many people on here have a lot to say about this mess all over again, but there seems to be some double tongues in this bytch!!! LOL On the one hand there are those who agree that nobody but Rihanna, Chris, and God knows what happened in that car yet they will bash both him and her. Then there are those who would bash Chris yet compare his situation to one of their situations and still not understand that he is remorseful and just because he don’t respond to stuff the same way we might then he isn’t “sincere.” WOW!!!! Folks are a trip and self righteousness is definately a sin. Forgive as you would have those forgive you. Get over it already. As for the spelling lesson we got, learnt is definately wrong. Learned is correct English. See dictionary.com for references. Learn does not fall in the irregular category.

Chris Brown continues to show his youth everytime he speaks. Acting like Oprah owes him something, you performed for her just like a thousand and one singers have done you did not give her a billion dollars for her charity. And really what does he expect he performed for a school filled with abused girls, did he really think Oprah would back him up after he beat a girl.
I don’t remember Will Smith saying anything besides he is young, Diddy supporting someone doesn’t speak volumes he really doesn’t act like someone who respects women.

I couldn’t help but here Angie’s condesending undertone when she was interviewing CB…She sounded like she was still kinda mad at him…but she asked all the questions we wanted her to ask. “at the end of the day” CB realizes his bad decision–let’s not crucify the boy—”he’s only human”. I’m glad Ri has moved on…LEAVE THEM BOTH ALONE…IT’S OVER!!

Its just a simple question, no need to be gettin smart of sarcastic. Oh and please leave the word “hater” out of the post!

I’m soooo sick of hearing these STUPID ass comments (gotta be from females) condoning what he did. Even if she DID hit him first, what kind of “man” cant take a lick from a woman??…..whom may I add is 50 lbs lighter than him. SMH at these girls only co-signing cus they “admire and is a fan” but Like the person above me just said, if someone UGLY like KRS-One would have done it to a female celebrity, yall wouldn’t be saying the RIDICULOUS shit I’ve been hearing. Men and Women are not equal. So even if she did strike back she couldnt have put up a FAIR fight against him….No woman can, unless your Tonya Harding, Chyna or some-damn-body. So I guess since “she hit him first” it would be cool for a 18 year old to beat the shit outta a bad ass lil 8 year old if the 8 year old hit them first too right?? Fuck outta here! Since it was a “mistake” I guess the part about him “beating her ass when they got home that night” was just an outbreak or something, lol. And dont try to come with that bullshit about only them two knows what happened that night cus Larry King read that back to him through the police report and Chris didnt object, correct him or anything!! The boy is obviously a habitual liar (He told Tyra he’d never hit a woman becus his mama got beaten for breakfast lunch and dinner). He’s only sorry becus he got caught. If not he wouldn’t have NEVER apologized nor seek out any counseling for his habit. I’m a strong believer in redemption but I just cant believe that he is remorseful in the heart about it, only remorseful to save his career. The situation is old and life goes the fuck on but something about his actions after the incident are pure signs of untruth-fullness. Call me a “hater” all you want ladies but that’s MY opinion of his situation and Him as a whole.
*A real man will NEVER..not just some of the time but NEVER hit a woman PERIOD. To hell with all these petty ass excuses about him being young, and that’s as moral and God-willed as marriage between a Man and Woman.

You people say its only a mistake blah blah blah are extremly disllusion. You guys sit up here a critize rih for her imaage put together by her team and then you similarily by into the same good boy image chris brown had put together by pr team. I can tell if he sincere and of course his word mean nothing. Only time and proof will be able to tell if he sincere. I thought he was sincere he would not beat a woman because of his earlier life situtation that prove to be false no matter the reason it is not acceptable to put your hand on woman , it not okay to bruise her. If that was my mom or sister , ot would not go down like that trust. He not that young, i expect a ten year old boy to know to put his hand on woman period.
Your fans turn their back on you not because they are some wayward fans its because 3 of you. You had many choices you had the choice to walk a way if she was beating you or disrepecting you. You had the choice to hit her the first time, the second time the third 4 ,5 ,6. Then you had the choice to bit her. Then you had the choice to send the follow up threating texts. Then again you had the choice not do each of those actions as they are occuring. THE CHOICE WAS YOURS.
It does not matter who people supported in past domestic cases because this case we are talking about. Chris fans and aas well other artist and industry did not condone his behavior because he had the choice and cant forget that many his fans may have seen their own domestic situations. Many of his fans are woman.
So you are sorry now. Well it is always good to be sorry after. Yeah we all make mistake and we all live with the consquences. So to say ppl ask if ur not human maybe true but still for ur actions I say your getting off very easy.
People are dillusion you guys wonder why hip hop is hell in the hand backet. We have all these educated brother who have serious skill for their word play. Yet is it a mistake that we constanly put and defend the drug dealer, gangsta ,ex con ex drug addict and let them represent who we are then we ask why are fighting stero types.
Definition of Real:
Jay-z Ex drug dealer
Biggie ex drug dealer ex con
DMx drug dealer
Booise user
weezy - drug user
jezzy- dealer user
kim
remy
rule
95 of the rappers are sometype of negative representation , yet those 95 percent do not want to be held accountable in the discussion of hip hop and the black community. We need to stop defending bad behavior and actually speak out against so our kids have a fighting chance.

You silly a$$es preaching this tired bs as if someone really cares. YOU need to go save a family member, friend or someone in your neighborhood or shut up. He’s has his family, has his friends & guess what…still have millions of fans whether you like it or not. His sh*t will sell and dummies need to get over it.
Operation bum rush from RD is a fail, and coming to the blogs trying to take him down is not going to work. Any fool can see that they hit each other. No he shouldn’t have fought her to that degree but who knows what really happened. She is just as culpable as he, she wanted to stay in the relationship.SHE was back in his bed in two weeks time and would stil have been there if not for the backlash, she’s just not that innocent.
He took ALL of the blame, and is still protecting her image and if you can’t understand that…oh well. If you can’t get over something that’s not your business anyway that’s too damn bad as well. If you don’t support him, not going to buy his sh*t what’s it to you anyway. Most of you are very immature and young trying to protect someone you have no real clue about. The old h*es here that keep harping on it aren’t his fans anyway and transferring your bs onto him it’s just pitiful. He doesn’t have to suffer for your abusers sins.
He’s gotten his punishment by society a court and a judge and he’s doing the time for five years. You don’t get the right to inflict vigilante justice on him or make his suffer for the rest of his natural life. Get a f’ing life of your own because he’s going on with his.
He has undeniable talent. His song “Crawl” is outstanding will be a hit and trounces that sad ass suicide song.
I’m not management, PR, friend or a member of his family, hell I wasn’t even a fan… but I enjoy reading the blogs when they are entertaining. It’s been nine months and this subject is old and tired. We all have opinions but damn be mature enough to know when to let sh*t go.

No what he did was wrong and we all shouldn’t just say “oh you hit her oh well we still love you” but if we see that someone is truly sorry for what they did and admits that they made a mistake and is trying his hardest to prove that he is very sorry who are we to judge. If you’re a fan you’re a fan if not let him pick himself up and try to be a man abt his situation. He never bashed Rihanna, talked bad abt her but praised her so please ppl move on.

I just wanna start off by saying that it ABSOLUTLY amazes me how everyone was ready to burn chris brown at the stake yet r kelly is still running as free as ever without a care in the world. Though i dont and never have condoned what chris brown did because i do believe that he is at fault and is beginning to finally take responsiblity for his actions and trying to better him self and move on. However to me R Kelly is no different (and yes i do understand that they did two different things). to my knowledge we never stopped jammin to r kelly’s songs, he was still on the radio and everyone STILL loved him though what he did was DISGUSTING AND DISCRASEFUL and he did it to MINORS!!!! My point is we still embraced r kelly as if what he did was no big deal at all. and with chris brown we were ready to throw him out of the country for good. Though i do believe that u should never put ur hands on a woman, i never hated chris brown. I do believe that no matte how big or small- he still made a mistake. and we make mistakes everyday, only difference is we dont have cameras in out faces and its not played out on every station all across the world for everyone to see how low we have fallen. So instead of judging him, pray for them.

How many people in general, forget celebrity status, are willing to stand up and take full responsibility for their actions? He admitted his faults and is trying to make amends for it. Some of you will never be satisfied. If you all were so ‘Anti-violent’, then you would understand that violence is intolerable period. Gender has nothing to do with it. Anyway, I’m tired of this subject especially when we have children murdering each other like life’s nothing but a toy. Wake up America and focus on things that impact you as an individual. Not on two kids who are clearly trying to move on with their lives.

You don’t know him and you don’t whether he is remorseful or not! The situation is done and over with. Rih is moving on and so is he! If we choose to support his music, then damnit that is our choice! YOU get the eff over it! Damn!
Futhermore, what grown ass man comes to a website that obviously caters to young women! Get another hobby!

Rihanna had it coming? Really now? How can “level headed person” even say such?!!!! When has it ever been proper to lay a finger on a babe regardless of the rumors that she was violent too. That does not give him any right!!! Some of you are totally stupid and ignorant! He is a public figure who thrives because of the young fans!! What he does will have a serious impact on how these kids view domestic violence! Pleading guilty and community service is not enough! This guy no matter how talented he is needs a real lesson of how wrong he was….he needed slammer time but I guess justice does not prevail in all cases. This has nothing to do with it being Rihanna but it has everything to do with whats right and whats wrong!!! He expected what from the public? An Applause? Argh he sucks…that goes to show how immature he is! Be a man and grow up Chris Brown. Yes we all make mistakes but forgiving Ike Turner behavior takes more than just keeping up trash….YOU NEED ANGER AND EMOTIONAL MANAGEMENT!!

I don’t think he understands what he did. Like it didn’t hit him or is it he’s just young and that’s what WE are all forgetting?!? I don’t know but when he says he’s hurt by Oprah’s comments and that only Will and some other dude well known reached out to him, oh, it was Diddy…anyway, I’m left feeling confused. It’s so typical of men who have hurt women to feel “ok, I apologized, I served my time, can we not talk about it”. It’s not that easy. I’ll say it again and again, Rhianna was the victim, no matter who started it, the outcome was Rhianna’s battered face for all to see. I say he still need his ass whipped!!!

RiRi seems to be getting crazier in an effort to “stand out” while CB does seems like he is coming back put together. I’m not a stan of either, just an observation.

I’m truly amazed at many (not all) of the comments here. As a grown woman who has never been abused verbally or physically a day in her life, I understand the frustration of those who have wanting to put all men/boys who get into altercations with women in a little box and called them “abusers”, but having lived through my 20’s,30’s and now 40’s, I can tell you that it’s just not that simple. For those who claim that a “real” man would NEVER put their hands on a woman are naive, and hey I get that. I’m married to what I believe is an amazing man and have been for 18yrs. Would he ever just hit a woman outright, absolutely not! Would he knock a woman the hell out if she tried to hurt him–ya damn straight! It may not be right, but it is reality. And for those who think he’s not a “real” man because of it–then I’d rather have him anyday than what half of these women call “real” men. The biggest misconception that women have is believing that they can have rage and men should not. Sure there are men who will walk away no matter what–and that’s wonderful–but reality is that noone ever really knows their reaction until they are in that moment. I saw the pictures of Rihanna and I feel bad that she went through that. But I also have compassion for Chris Brown because he is trying to atone and make amends. at the end of the day, some will forgive and move on and some won’t, but I hope those that don’t never get into a situation where they need forgiveness, because they just might not get it.

Ya’ll know the white media is not gonna just let this go. Hell Janet Jackson still gets grief over her incident. Unless he refuses to speak about it, they are still gonna be asking him about it when his NEXT cd comes out!

AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! If I had a son I would raise him to honor and respect EVERYONE. I hear you loud and clear. I’ve been married 17 years and I too have a wonderful man. He treats me with the utmost respect and would never hit me. He would walk away if he could, but you know what, I am aware that he has his limits. Because his feelings for me are so close to the surface, I know that I could possibly push him over that forbidden edge. What you and I have to understand is that most of the people on this site are speaking what they feel is politically correct or out of some place of hurt. Both Chris and Rihanna are creations of God and God knew that night was going to happen. I feel relatively sure that it all happened so that both of them could remember that they are human and should remain humble. Nothing like public humilation to make you humble again. Now that the lesson has been learned, we ALL need to move on. Everybody deserves a second chance. If (God forbid) Chris looses his mind and does this again, then and only then can we decide that he is done. Until then, I will continue to pray for both of them and root for their success.
