Ok, as much as I don’t agree with how the whole thing went down with these people, I think it’s time to move on from this. I mean, what else is there to say about it? It’s obvious Alicia and Swizz were/are messing around with each other.
What needs to happen now is for Mashonda to finalize this divorce so that she can move forward with her child. Constantly bringing this up every few months is exhausting and must be beyond embarassing for Mashonda and her son–that is, once he realizes everything that went on during this period. So, Mashonda just needs to let her son maintain that relationship with his father, and find herself something and someone much better.

Alicia is a joke as an artist to me anyway. Her voice is below average that’s why she doesn’t sound good live most times. Her piano playing is average a 12-year old could play at her level. Her music is dull and cliched. How long she going to rip off 70s sounding music? It’s 2009. She doesn’t innovate or take any risks. People have brought into the image that her music is “real” because she sit behind a piano. India Arie is an example of a real musician, but she’s not half-white so she don’t get the love she deserves from the black or white audience she deserves. That’s why the Grammys dissed India that year and gave all those Grammys to Alicia.
No wonder James Brown said Alicia stole a lot of his melodies. Rick James said that she wasn’t that good of a piano player. I hear what you’re saying loud and clear but I still think you’re wrong and most rational people would agree. Calling cheaters thieves and killers is insane and you seem bent on stressing that point. No, it’s not right but people cheat for so many different reasons, especially women, you cannot use such blanket statements for everyone who’s been unfaithful to their partner. Basically what you’re saying is that you’ve never told a lie because if you have that means you too are a possible cheater, thief and killer. The Bible clearly speaks against adultery and states that it is better to marry than to burn, thus covering fornication. Coveting someone else’s spouse is against an actual commandment, I might add. I do agree with most of what you said and while it would have been better if Swizz had waited until after the divorce, i think it becomes a challenge when the person u are with refuses to let u go despite being aware that u are not happy with them. I just had another comment and I normally don’t respond to others post unless they call me out, but this is in response to Nik Nak. I agree with what you were saying, but I just wanted to add that I don’t think this is a case of Mashonda not wanting to let go of the money, because she’s gonna have that coming in for the next 18 years or so from child support, and not to mention the alimony, cause Swiss ain’t no broke dude. I also think that if you really love someone, and have been with them for a long time, it’s almost natural to try to work things out, and not just for the two of you, but for the child’s sake as well, whether the guy is broke or not. It’s not always about money with every woman. Cause I don’t think Mashonda was totally hurting for money anyway. Some people just take marriage seriously ass they should. Now if they didn’t have any ties, it probably would be easier for her to just let it go, I just think that she’s pissed about how it all went down. He should have just been honest with her. Question for all the women so quick to judge Alicia Keys. I understand that the state of the “Black Marriage” is huge in your minds. .. given the statistical likelihood that most of you on the block are not and never will be married. Couple that with the constant feeling that IF and when you do find a man who is willing to commit, there are so many single women out their willing to “intervene” in your relationship.
My real concern is this Biblical celebration of marriage/ condemnation of sinners you all seem to be so intent on.
Consider how many women pressure men to marry them JUST CAUSE they have been dating a while. “Oh no huunny I deserve a ring!” All the while knowing damn well he is just not that into you and y’all ain’t soulmates and you just thought that giving up some cooch for a long period of time meant a ring was due.
I’m not saying people don’t make mistakes and cheat, but women love to blame everyone but themselves for making bad decisions…marrying the wrong guy.

I’m not going to say I haven’t been on the other side of the cheating matter. I’ve been on both sides. However,I learned my lesson. Even though it’s not right that they were messing around when he was still married,none of us have the right to judge. All of us have sinned in some way. Sin is sin, no matter what it is. God is our judge. Hopefully, everyone learns what God intends for them to learn from the situation.

What I hate is the word “homewrecker” being thrown around. You can’t be a homewrecker if the home is already wrecked..hence why the man is on to the next one. Men are not willing to work out relationships like women are… we don’t know Swizz and Alicia’s conversations regarding his relationship. Regardless if he was still married..he can’t be somebodies husband if he’s not acting like one. Mashonda knew her relationship was over and Alicia is just something to point a finger at. Well who are we to JUDGE!!! However what comes around goes around, so if they love it I like it. Mashonda and Swizzy must not have been too tight of a couple anyway. If it wasn’t Alicia it was gonna be somebody else, so don’t blame her, just watch their outcome! It won’t last. If it does good for them and hopefully he can be a man and figure out how to let his kids know what he did in the long run. Who Cares?
African American families are largely headed by women. Many children are raised not by their mothers but grandmothers and most do not came from two family homes. This has been occurring since slavery. Majority of african american don’t graduate from high school, unemployed, uneducated, plagued by high blood pressure, diabetes, kidney and AIDS. Why are we so involved in famous peoples lives? Why can’t we enjoy the music and support the arts and improve our lives?

There isn’t any substantial proof any affair before Swizz separation, which was prior to January 2008.

I was a little upset to here it was true about Alicia & Swizz but you can’t control love & feelings & I’m not in their lives to even know the whole situation. Besides, Alicia’s not the one that was married, why isn’t anyone upset with Swizz? He’s the one that broke his vows. I’ve been cheated on & I’ve also been the “mistress”, but we’re all human & we make mistakes. None of us can judge anyone because we ALL make mistakes. For right now she still has my respect & I’m going to support her music just like everyone still supports Chris Brown & R. Kelly. Plus no one can deny, Alicia’s music game is serious.
