EXCLUSIVE: Sanaa’s Man Steve Rifkind BLASTED For “Using” Black Women In The Industry?!
Looks like Sanaa Lathan’s new music entrepreneur boo Steve Rifkind (Founder and CEO of SRC Records) is not the “lover of black women” people think he is. We spoke to a particular source who knows Steve intimately. And said source alleges Steve purposely uses black women in the industry for sex and simply because he can. Steve’s relationship with Sanaa caused a stir as folks around the net were surprised those two would even be a match. But our source tells YBF they’re not surprised:
“He’s very shady. He gets with several black women. That’s just his thing.”
How shady you ask? Well we found out that his former girlfriend is well known publicist Sari Baez (pictured above with Steve)–Dir. of Marketing/Public Relations for RVC Enterprises who licenses for Dereon, Rocawear, and other clothing companies. And we’re told that the two dated for 2 years–while Steve was married! She moved in to Steve’s NYC pad as Steve told her he was in the midst of a divorce. Except the divorce never happened, so Sari finally broke it off last year.
Even worse–Steve’s wife Nicole (who is also black) filed depositioned Sari 5 times to testify during their divorce proceedings once she found out about his cheating.
We’ve got the proof and more under the cut…
Despite divorce papers and these types of deposition papers being filed, Steve kept postponing. Our source reveals:
“Steve’s wife didn’t even know [he and Sari] were together at first. He even moved Sari into his and his wife’s NYC apartment! His offices were in New York. So he played both women telling Sari he was only going to see his kids when he spent weekends back home in Palm Beach. And he was telling his wife he had to ‘go do some business’ when he left for NYC to be with Sari.”
Drama! Steve and his wife have been separated for almost 6 years and are still not divorced. They have 6 year old twins and a 12 year old son. Watch out Sanaa….

I am so sick and tired of all of the commentors acting all high and mighty, judgemental, and know-it-all on these posts. These are grown ass people that none of you know personally. But ya’ll want to get on her and ream these people. None of you know the reasons behind his non-divorce, him cheating, his wife being his “wife”. Since they are married and she knows all about his cheating, she’s the dummy for staying. If she has a good lawyer, she can take his azz for everything, if she didn’t have a pre-nup. The question keeps coming up about why HE’S not divorcing her, but the question should be why isn’t SHE divorcing him? Could be because she won’t get much without being married to him, and she knows that. Hell, if she’s allowing it all, and has documented proof, why wouldn’t he stay? This article or it’s initial “theme” appeared over at Globalgrind and it had, in its title that “Sanaa is with some serial swirler.”
K, that said, I had to “catch myself” I then went and burned my copy of “Love and Basketball.” After I posted this bit of information on Global Grind, all hell broke loose!
The ensuing vitriol and anger left me bewildered. Even Russell Simmons, the “king of swirl,” himself got into the fray. You can’t revisit the post, NO; After I “called out” Ms. Lathan AND Russell by laying careful and complete logic to said material, Russell had the post’s heading changed to one that wasn’t so….”attention grabbing!”
Not soon thereafter, the entire blog/entry/commentary was moved and deleted — I can’t find it, not that I’d want to! Russell Simmons is a selfhating hypocrite! He was in the DMV, not too long ago, supporting Michael Steel, yes, THAT Michael Steel; the NOW Republican RNC Chairman Michael Steel — the ONE and ONLY!
He’s also a poverty pimp — yes, he is!! I can go on, but why bother, that’d be tangential and extraneous.

It’s peculiar to see the differences how some cultures/countries treat black skin. In Western Europe, certain parts, they love dark skin, even more than mixed skin. But come here to the U.S. you have a dislike of dark skin; dark men are at the bottom of the totem pole, as far as, what’s desired, in the dating “marketplace!”
I want a black woman, who looks like Gabrielle Union, to WANT to be with a man who looks like me;like her! I am a white man who firmly believes in interracial dating/marriage if that’s what floats your boat. The reason I am actually commenting though is because I spent some time last night and parts of today catching up on some of the previous comments (makes for great reading!) where a few ppl mentioned at least two times before that you have issues with white men who ONLY date black women. Why do you have such issues? I am a 30-year-old WM who prefers darker complected woman,period. What I mean by this is if a woman is white, I am personally attracted to darker-complected, almost “olive-skinned” white women with darker hair, as opposed to fair skinned WW and blondes. Meaning I’m more of an Alissa Milano type of guy than a Pam Anderson all-day!Now, the interesting thing for me is that I am the same way with black women. I prefer darker-complected black women over “light-skinned”, “high yellow”, or “redbones” anyday. Wow… It’s nice to see how many ladies agree that this man is not “using” black women, but is just a regular dog who happens to prefer black women.
I am white and date black women because that is what I am attracted to, not because of any sexual stereotype. To me, they are the most beautiful, but that’s just my opinion and preference. I was married to a black woman for 13 years and have 4 kids with her. We share custody.
When I see posts like this, it comes across as more “black self hate”. As if there has to be SOME reason a white man is attracted to black women other than he thinks they are beautiful. Preach whiteknight! Dogs come in all colors regardless to who they are attracted to. A man cannot do anything to you that you do not allow him to do. I wish women would slow down and not be in such a hurry to couple up with someone and bed them. Slow down and get to know the person, ask around about him, hell google him, check the circuit clerk office in his county for cases, etc. Do your homework and you are less likely to get hurt or used. With that said some of us will get hurt and some of us will get used no matter how careful we are because unfortunately we cannot predict or see the future and none of us no what a person may do even if they start out as a “good guy”! i was one of the people who is wary of the “i only date Black women meme”, my reasoning is because i don’t want a man to date me because he likes “Black women”, i want him to date me because he likes me. one black woman does not represent all, so instead of saying i only date Black women, why not say, these are the characteristics, i’m looking for in a mate…..and whatever packaging they come in, i’m game.

@just me: if you re-read what I wrote, that is exactly what I said about being attracted to darker complexions. I even gave examples.
Now, that being said…would I agree that I have my personal appreciations for certain things about black women—yes, of course. I do personally appreciate the beautiful skin tone of “many” black women. I do appreciate the curves and athleticism that “many” black women’s bodies possess. I do appreciate a black woman who loves herself, her family, and blackness as a whole, but none of these attributes are anything more than an appreciation because as you can see, I put the word “many” in quotes. This isn’t ALL black women. This isn’t even ALL women. All women are different. Many white women, and women or other racial/social backgrounds have many admirable and attractive qualities as well.But, as a white man, I have issues with people making reference to black women not being able to find any “good” black men or white men know how to “treat” a black women how she “deserves to be treated.” I think a good man is a good man by nature. (Well, that and a good upbringing.) I can appreciate that black women are strong, have endured, and have had to overcome many obstacles in America (and worldwide.) But when white men use this as an excuse (or reasoning, for lack of a better word)as to why they are attracted to black women this also bothers me. I don’t think soley because BW have had it hard, you should be attracted to them. White men are NOT the savior. They’re men. Period. Some are dogs. Some are assholes. Some are good men.—but, they’re men. And black women don’t need a savior. Beautiful women are beautiful women, and good men are good men. Period.

I did not in any way state that you have to be with a white man to be treated like a Queen. If you would simply calm down and re-read what I wrote, I think you would realize that my statement was related TO THE REST OF MY F**KIN POST! The idea being that many men, including white men, view black women as the most beautiful in the world. It is only self hate (in my opinion) that causes some black women to not accept that for what it is, but instead try to twist it into something else. As if they cannot accept that they are beautiful. Therefore if they would view THEMSELVES as Queens 1st, there would not EVEN BE A QUESTION as to why this man likes to be with black women. It would simply be a matter of this man wanting to be with beautiful women. Understand?
As for the other post that asks how I can say I only date black women and instead not say I like certain qualities, you are correct. I am not attracted to all black women. But the qualities I am attracted to are mostly found in black women, the eyes and voice.

I agree with some of the others. How can he be using black women? That woman knew he was married, and continued to live with him. It’s her fault not his. She just wanted that money and that lifestyle. She thought he going to leave his wife and mary her. Didn’t happen. I read that his divorce was final last month. That’s when Sanaa started seeing him publicly. I do think she should be careful with this guy. The ole football player turned out to be a dog, Wale. I never liked him with her anyway.
