So there’s an uproar in Texas right now that’s getting national attention. Dallas Cowboy cheerleader Whitney Isleib is in the midst of Halloween drama after posting FB pics of her in blackface. She says she was dressed as Lil Wayne.
Some folks say it was in poor taste-esp. as she is in a public position as a Cowboy cheerleader (I watch that reality show of the chicks trying to make the team and the Cowboys Cheerleader organization is extra strict). Others say it was just all in fun and they don’t see a prob with it. Your thoughts?

It can’t be ok for us as Black folks to imitate other races, make jokes about them (as many comedians do), and then blow up, protest, and try to get people of other races fired when they do the same. Yes, we have fought for years for our freedom, our respect, our equality, and there are clearly some things that cross the line as outright disrespect. In my opinion this is not one of them!!!!

Grrrrrrr…. people please !!!! Stop trying to make an issue out of things that aren’t one !! i think it’s clear to see that this girl didn’t have any bad intentions !!! It just shows that “white people” acknowledge black culture and that “black artists” are as much part of their daily lives now ! i’m sure this girl actually likes Lil’ Wayne or else she wouldn’t be dressing up as him !!!
I’m just so tired of us trying to put ourselves in the “victim”-role…. always complaining about how “the white man” is trying to hold black people down, when the thing that holds the community down is actually gang violence, teen pregnancy, alcohol, illiteracy, drugs, black-on-black crimes, etc…..

Meanwhile, back on the range…SHYNE…did ya’ll listen to that? All I’m saying is this…glad that he’s out, glad that he’s privileged enough to be the son of the Prime Minister, and the nephew of the Minister of Housing and urban development (and that’s on his mother’s side mind you). He’s clearly CHILLING. They have him speaking at schools….crickets on that one. He’s walking around in “Harvard” attire…crickets on that one too. He has a family that’s well connected, so….I think he should enjoy the rest of his life and FADE AWAY!
I personally thought his message to the students went a little left. It started out ok, but then…. he started talking about not going to school, how reading the dictionary really helped him sell millions of records, and all of a sudden, I needed the microphone to SHUT OFF! He just got out of jail….he’s not ready for public consumption. Jail is a beast, so that guy needs to get his head straight. After listening to him speak…he’s a little off, which is to be expected, so his family should tighten those reigns, keep him out of the public eye, and let him heal properly. Belize is the best place for him right now. Just an opinion!

wow the media is very tricky isn’t it. all the people that were asked about the cheerleader said they saw nothing wrong with it and the only negative things said was that she was in the spotlight, being a dallas cheerleader, and should be careful. No one said they were offended and yet this news article creates a stir because the media said there is a “potential controversy”. I’m not mad at white people, black people, and color person, I’m mad at the media for even trying to make this a big deal. just another piece of non-news that distracts us all from the really important issues that this country faces everyday.

I’m not saying it’s a huge issue to get up in arms over, but we are a melting pot nation and EVERYONE has the responsibility to be culturally sensitive to ALL races, ethnicities, religions, etc. It’s a culture/character issue, not so much a race issue (In my opinion)

That was a completely idiotic statement. You cannot possibly compare putting on white makeup and dressing as a vampire to putting on blackface and dressing as a person!
