She’s back. Rihanna hit the stage for her first live solo performance since Chrihannagate last night. She busted out her new tracks “Russian Roulette,” “Mad House,” “Wait Your Turn” and “Hard” for the NOKIA X6 launch party at the Brixton Academy in London. UK singers Jamelia, Alesha Dixon, and others…plus Jay-Z were there to cheer her on.
She brought out Young Jeezy and Jay-Z on stage, and performed her other tracks like “Take A Bow,” “Live Your Life” and “Run This Town”. It was all live online for the world to see.
Rih of course had to smize for the cameras–rocking my fave Ja’Maal Buster “Disturbia” lashes–before the concert. Cute dress.

Beyonce and Rihanna will never be on the same page when it comes to talent! and that’s no hate on Rihanna’s part. Rihanna has no stage presence and she never will, she did not do bad but for that little performance 30 mins I believe she had to much help, she lip synced, used way to much backtracking, and her back up singer. She cant dance, she’s boring on stage, walking back and forth and she had the nerve to keep grabbing her self and the dummy! If not for Jay Z coming out the crowd would still be standing there and that’s what they did for the most part of her performance. She has not grown vocally or as an entertainer. Her stylist makes her look nice, but her stylist cant change what’s inside of her. She’s a boring performer with little talent and if this CD passes 3 mil WW it will be a big step for her. But I do advise people do not waste their money going to any of her shows cause she really sucks as a entertainer. No hate at all! I’m not understanding the constant Beyonce-Rihanna comparison. They are very different in a variety of ways, so it’s basically comparing apples and oranges.
In my opinion (sure that many will disagree with me), Rihanna is not a vocalist. Her songs are certainly catchy and likable (like “Disturbia”), but with a slow song there’s much to be desired — and I’d rather not think about her singing a capella. What’s undeniable, though, is that there is a certain alluring quality about her that makes people sit up and take notice. She has a confidence about herself (real or faked is anybody’s guess) that makes her interesting and sexy.
Being successful is no longer about being the most talented (look at Jennifer Hudson or Chrissette Michelle’s record sales compared to people like Rihanna or Madonna) — whether that’s a positive or negative is in the eye of the beholder. It’s more in the packaging, and like it or not, Rihanna’s team (mentor Jay-Z, stylist, promoters, etc.) have created a great package.
