  • Oprah NIXES “The Oprah Show”!

Written by Natasha - Last updated: Friday, November 20, 2009

It’s time to bid adieu to the queen of the talk show throne.  Oprah Winfrey is officially announcing today that she is ending “The Oprah Show” on September 9, 2011.  It’s ov-ah!

Ms. Winfrey, 55, informed her talk show staff of her decision on Thursday afternoon. The television world had expected that she would make a decision about the fate of her program by the end of the year.

Ms. Winfrey told her staffers that she will not transfer the show to cable. She is expected to produce new programs for OWN, and may appear on some of them.

In a statement, CBS Television Distribution said, “We have the greatest respect for Oprah and wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors. We know that anything she turns her hand to will be a great success. We look forward to working with her for the next several years, and hopefully afterwards as well.”

    Source

She says she wants to focus her executive producing skills on her own OWN network and only that will be her focus. It’s been 25 years in the game for O. And now she’s over and out. Who’s going to tell me what to eat, what to watch, what to read, what to wear, how to breathe, etc?  WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO WITHOUT OUR QUEEN?!?!  Damn homie.

    Wendy Williams…here’s your chance girl….

She was up against the gaints of her time Merve Griffen and Phil Donahue. She is now the BIG dog and she paved the way for Trya and Wendy to have a crack at it. Wendy has a long way to go to get to Oprah’s status but she is doing her own thing and I hope it pays off for her.

I must say that it truly is an end of an ERA that Oprah mastered. I don’t even watch the O show but I have respect for how she came into the daytime talk show game and out lasted and ‘Classed’ everyone. The daytime talk show grave yard includes: Phil Donuhue, Merv Griffin, Sally Jessie Raphael, Ricki Lake, Jerry Springer, Rosie O’Donnell Ananda Lewis, and Queen Latifah (yes she tried too).
O’ came in and changed the game and made people THINK. She challenged people’s intellect and their purpose in life and soooo many people responded to her call. There wasn’t an ‘A’ list celebrity out there that didn’t respond to her call. She made politicians and heads of state bow down. I say all this to say that PLEASE RECOGNIZE that this is HISTORY that we are living. Who would’ve ever thought that a black girl would grow up to command respect from the world? I’m glad she is leaving on a high note and I respect that niche she has carved out in society.

And LIBERAL white america listened, and raised up negroes from the cotton field, and placed a trillion dollars in their hands. We went from 4 or 5 millionaires to hundreds of millionaires, with a few billionaires.
So why is Black America as a whole WORSE off than it was 40 years ago:
The old negroes raised out of poverty didn’t create jobs for their own community sizable enough to put even a slight dent in black unemployment.
They decided that they didn’t have the patience to cultivate black talent as the white man had done for them.
They decided to be weak and cave in, and pander to rascist whites.
They decided to be politically correct and abandon their american black community in the bush era, in favor of pandering to africa’s lost cause.
The money that should have produced more money in the black community went to outsiders just cause they had a black face and they took and took and used the fools.
Then they assisted foreign blacks to come to america soil, and aided them in complaints of discrimination when white america recognized that their 3rd world cultures were bringing in the drugs, disrespect for life, pagan religions, and all sorts of evil.
White america is fed up with the foolishness. These negroes like Oprah failed to yield any significant results in the black community as a whole, and now they’re going to take them down one by one.
The fools quickly forgot who they were as soon as they got a few dollars. They wanted to be white. They wanted to be african, and they passed on the wealth to everyone but a black american with their stupid low self esteem.
They were too ignorant to realize that the decline of black americans would include them too.
And this ignorant oprah is a prime example of the biggest failure in the black community. So much wealth placed in her hands produced very little results in the black american community.
She needs to be forced to go to africa and STAY! She is not a patriot. A patriot puts his own land, and own people FIRST!

No successful people for our children to look up to. Not enough money in the black community to control our own fate.”And LIBERAL white america listened, and raised up negroes from the cotton field, and placed a trillion dollars in their hands. We went from 4 or 5 millionaires to hundreds of millionaires, with a few billionaires. So why is Black America as a whole WORSE off than it was 40 years ago:The old negroes raised out of poverty didn’t create for their own community sizable enough to put even a slight dent in black unemployment. They decided that they didn’t have the patience to cultivate black talent as the white man had done for them. They decided to be weak and cave in, and pander to rascist whites. They decided to be politically correct and abandon their american black community in the bush era, in favor of pandering to africa’s lost cause. The money that should have produced in the black community went to outsiders just cause they had a black face and they took and took and used the fools. Then they assisted foreign blacks to come to america soil, and aided them in complaints of discrimination when white america recognized that their 3rd world cultures were bringing in the drugs, disrespect for life, pagan religions, and all sorts of evil.White america is fed up with the foolishness. These negroes like Oprah failed to yield any significant results in the black community as a whole, and now they’re going to take them down one by one.The fools quickly forgot who they were as soon as they got a few dollars. They wanted to be white. They wanted to be african, and they passed on the wealth to everyone but a black american with their stupid .They were too ignorant to realize that the decline of black americans would include them too.And this ignorant oprah is a prime example of the biggest failure in the black community. So much wealth placed in her hands produced very little results in the black american community. She needs to be forced to go to africa and STAY! She is not a patriot. A patriot puts his own land, and own people FIRST!

shouldn’t you be on a ledge somewhere?

Oprah will be missed! I swear I don’t see ANYONE taking her place. So sorry but Wendy Williams is too annoying for words. She lies and is too fake to hold her majesty’s court. She took so much time and energy criticizing Miss Winfrey from the start. I’m not ready for Oprah to leave just yet.

In the famous words of Ray Charles, “I can only wear one pants at a time, and eat only one steak at a time.” And so goes for Oprah. She’ll be sorry she didn’t make a real family and only tried to buy african children who are only using her for money. If she cuts the money off she won’t be allowed back in africa.

She’ll be old and alone, counting money that can’t hug you back or say I love you.

Wow. I am shocked at the people on here dissing Oprah because even if you don’t agree with her show, she has done in my opinion, a good job through the years of highlighting the successes of black people through the years. This is America, and her show’s success depended on white women, that’s the number game. I am glad she didn’t just have a black show, I am glad that she was mainstream making black people accessible to America. Thanks to her efforts and Dr Cosby’s efforts in the 1980s, a whole generation have grown up with accessible images of black people. They and those before them for pioneers.

She hasn’t helped any AAs…sure you guys are crazy, crazy, crazy, if you think that.

Honestly I don’t think that Ellen, Tyra, or Wendy will be able to replace Oprah because first of all Oprah is a journalist whereas the rest of these women are not. I give props to all of these women for doing there own thing in their own way, but as a journalism student I can definitely see why Oprah has lasted so long. She is one of those people that journalism is her gifting. Yes a talk show is not hard core news, but I think Oprah’s experience as a journalist has a lot to do with her success.

It’s time for her show to end. She’s cartoonish now. I won’t miss her.
