Toni’s body looks amazing, but I didn’t really like her wigs or weave. I only liked the hairdo with the bangs. The song is good nonetheless and Trey looks yummy.
I think the guy in the beginning of Keri Hilson’s video is speaking German. I had to mention that cause I heart Tokio Hotel (love them)……favorite band ever and they’re German, but besides that the video left me scratching my head. The concept was vague and the video seems pointless. The song is likeable though. Also, Keri looked beautiful.

How should I begin?!?!?I would hate to be as degrading and belittling to SouLKid, tara, Melessa, and other pompous indidviduals following this school of thought. Rather than understand that some of us may not understand the direction of Keri’s video, not because we are slow, but maybe we are not as “artistic” as you, you would rather attack and demean those around you. People like you are the reasons why “common courtesy” is absent today. Each One, Teach One…maybe in your “infinite, artistic expression wisdom”, you should use your intellect to enlighten and educate rather than demean.
You may even consider READING what people have written before expressing your views versus ASSUMING what we said. The comments I read did not address whether Keri’s video was crap, but there was an overwhelming indication that people did not understand where she was coming from…i.e What did certain parts of the video have to do with the LYRICS of the song, What story was Keri attempting to tell. I implore you…if you get it, SHARE…Help others see your VISION, since we are unable to ask Keri ourselves. I am very interested in finding out how her vision (video) portrays the song.
By the way…I can admit that I am far from an artistic person. I am an EDUCATED BUSINESS Woman, and do very well at what I do. Art, Literature, Symbolism…all things I have had to include in my life, but I prefer Analysis, Transactions, Profit, Mergers and Acquisitions. I say all of that to say, I was built to handle BUSINESS, you were obviously built to handle Art and Music, our differences make us the individuals we are, but because you may not be proficient in my passion doesn’t make you an idiot, which is what you are claiming I am because I don’t share in your passion.

Actually @Devious. I’m not ‘artistic’ as u mentioned. I’m actually a business student. If u dont understand something, a little background check(as someone mentioned) wouldn’t hurt. The lyrics dont always have anything to do with the video. Adam Lambert’s 2012 soundtrack didnt have much to do with the video – California is going down and he’s singing about not giving up on love.

@ SouLKid: Case and Point…The fact that the video is a teaser of sorts for a German film is not what I don’t understand. Keri’s INTERPRETATION is what I don’t understand. Once again, what you are hearing is deceiving you. Take yourself out of the equation…you are not “The Answer”. The Background Check explains “What the video is for”, but does not explain “WHY”. If YOU were to research the movie, YOU would find that there are NO Producution Notes, which means…(Drum Roll, please) There is no PUBLIC information on the Plot!!! The only information out there is the list of characters and soundtrack info.

@Soul kid, I actually agreed with the original comment that you made. I have no idea why people are getting offended when 1. it is so so true, and 2. it is based on some of the previous comments. HOWEVER, Russian Roulette IS ABOUT SUICIDE, Rihanna said it herself in an interview this week and if you see the video it further explains it. That surprised me that you said that.
@Devious, what you said made no sense. People thought that the video was odd because that did not know it was for a German movie. NOT because they did not know the plot of the German movie. If they would have stated in the ybf notes that for a soundtrack, it would have made sense to most. All that other stuff you mention is irrelevant to the point.

@HTownMusicLover…Do me a favor, don’t generalize, be specific. As I indicated in my EARLIER posts, I was speaking about ME. I stated to SouLKid, that many people including myself may not have understood (1) Keri’s Vision or (2) the story being intertwined in the video and its relevance to the song. And that if people could explain what “they see’ versus attacking those who may not share their insight, we would like to hear your thoughts. Therefore your “Blanket” comment about “People” finding the video “odd” as it supposedly relates to a movie is incorrect. There are several reasons why one may consider the video confusing. My definition of “confusing” is not synonymous with your definition of “odd”. The information about the movie, i.e. Production Notes, would assist by providing the masses with an outline of how this song plays into the movie…once again SOMEONE’S INTERPRETATION. Intrepretation is relative…as is your opinion.

If they debut a new video and tell me that it is for a soundtrack of a movie that I have never heard of, I instantly get that I the featured movie scenes may not make sense. That is all. Words cannot describe how much I loooove Toni B! Her voice just does something to me! It’s so unique and beautiful! So happy to see her back on the scene! Plus my baby Trey is in the vid, he is making VA so proud! Do the damn thing Trey! I don’t how big a hit this will be for her but I am happy to her back on the scene nonetheless! I been feeling Keri’s song for a minute now! I already knew it was for the sound track to a foreign film. It doesn’t sound like something that will do too well in the states, but I predict it will be a hit overseas. Americans do tend to critisize things they don’t understand and are unfamiliar to them. I can’t see it making big waves on the US charts though. Kinda like that song Kelly Rowland did with whatever that guy’s name is, ‘When love Takes Over’. No. 1 hit overseas, but Americans weren’t feeling it! Kudos to Keri for ding something that would appeal to a different market. Get that money anyway you can!

Um….she actaully did pop first! Remember that song with Timbaland ‘Way you Are’ & ‘Return the favor’. Plus there are several songs on her album that are pop. She has been a writer in the industry for years writing mostly pop songs for artist such as Britney, Pussy Cat Dolls, Beyonce, even artist overseares such as Pardiso Girls. Pop is what Keri has BEEN doing. Black folks just weren’t aware of her until she started doing R&b. She is not exaclty making waves in the R&B world right now anyway. Black folks stay hating on her! As you can hear in this song she has a voice for pop, it suits her well, even better than R&B. She is smart, branching out and capitalizing on other markets! There is a huge market overseas! Keri knows what she doing!

Toni actually knows how to play the piano and has been playing piano since she was a teenager. When she auditioned for Laface she played the piano and when I saw her in Vegas she played as well. Relax people..there’s absolutely no need to throw indirect insults at each other…the fact is plain and simple i.e. Anyone with COMMON SENSE can tell within seconds of watching the video that it is the soundtrack to a film. Whether or not it is targeted at a European audience is utterly irrelevant….so long as you see snippets of what blatantly looks like a movie in the video..it should be clearly OBVIOUS that it is a movie soundtrack.

The song is for a single off of the soundtrack for a German movie that comes out in December. The main character is the biggest actor in Germany and the song was produced by David Jost from the multi-platinum group Tokio Hotel. So naturally the video is comprised of scenes from the movie.
I wish people would GETACLUE and stop scrutinizing things that you know nothing about. There is a whole world outside of the US. If you would just apply yourself then maybe you too could be relevant outside of your own feeble minds. Then you may be able to travel and be significant in other parts of the world.
So continue to hate as others experience things that you could only image, and as you pull up to that stoplight on the way to your minimum wage job in your dilapidated car wishing that you were sitting in a $80,000 dollar vehicle smelling the fresh scent new leather. Im sure Keri Hilson and others like her are either hopping on a plane to a destination you’ll never see or sound asleep in there beds making in money more minutes then you will make all year or for 5 years at that.
And when you get home to your meager lives and you pop that $3.99 dinner out of the microwave you can then sit down and watch them from the 25-inch side of your TV.

With my very limited German, and having no clue what was quickly exchanged in the beginning of the video, I still find it difficult to believe that this song has anything to do with the scenes that were strewn between Keri singing how much she’s “likes.” I believe someone mentioned in an earlier comment that the German scenes were from a movie. Fair enough but again, the video conceptually and visually makes no sense. Another fail for Ms. Hilson.
As for Toni Braxton — she looks and sounds amazing. Reminds me of a better version of the Toni I used to blast when I was in middle school. And can I return to how amazing she looks! This woman is 40+ and has 2 children and I’m sure she has a personal trainer and such but still, she’s looks amazing.

I like some of Toni’s music, however, I wasn’t really feeling the video, or her choice of wigs. Have a real big problem with Keri though! I don’t what all the bashing is about concerning Keri’s video. I didn’t understand Keri’s video at first, until I watched it a second time, I got some sense of what it was about. I don’t consider myself uneducated. I knew the characters in the beginning were speaking German and that was all (thanks to Tokio Hotel), but I thought the video was still dull at best, regardless of my understanding, or lack of. She didn’t write for Beyonce. She wrote for Usher. Love in This Club II IS NOT Beyonce’s track. It’s Ushers. She is just a feature. Just because Be sang those lyrics, doesn’t mean they were written for her. A lot of songs are written. Once the demo is finished, they may ask a singer to come in and sing it. I’ve travelled the world more than 20 times over and have worked with many of top 10 artists you love and hate. I fly overseas at least twice a month and will be there again day after this Thanksgiving. The word POP is so over used to describe an artist(s). It was originally used in the context as being POPULAR to describe not the sound but the audience that said artist reached it was then shortened to the current use of the word.
So although some of your favorite artists may perform and sing R&B,Country,Rock etc the moment that they sell or reach a certain listening audience and vastly exceed their viewer ship or immediate demographic they are then considered “POP”.
I find it hilarious and cowardly how so many of you voice such harsh opinions about people that you don’t even know. You hide behind screen names and have the audacity to disrespect others on a level that you would never do face to face. Trust me I know I’ve been the business for 12 years and never once have I heard an individual tell an artist what they think of them. No, you are the same ones that ask for pictures, autographs, and make comments like “he’s really cool” or “she really is pretty in person”.
You have no clue of how the system works……how someone can be platinum in another country after only selling 10,000 units, because of that countries dollar value, economic status and overall population selling that amount warrants the acalaid. As far as the culture of music the Japanese know more about and respect hip hop and r&b more then 60% of African Americans in the United States because where as we listen to it they study it as a culture, this goes for other countries as well. Which is why after we have worshiped and then slain our artists they can still go abroad and have budding carreers over seas.
