Just when we thought only the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” were full of posers and foolery, “The Real Housewives of D.C.” is off to the same start! At the White House’s first State Dinner last week, two people popped up in the mix–taking pics in front of the media and with extremely powerful politicians–and they were NOT invited. How’d they get in? Secret Service is still trying to determine. But they are now facing criminal charges because they were not on the guest list or seated at a table.
The couple in question, Tareq and Michaele Salahi, are actually casted for the newest installment of “The Real Housewives of D.C.” And they decided to CRASH the State Dinner like it was some club or some ish. D.C. and the White House are going nuts trying to figure out how some random people got so close to the President and the Prime Minister of India (the honoree) and other politicians like governors, mayors, and VP Biden. The Salahis actually posted ALL the pics they took with these politicians at the party on their Facebook page, and that’s how they got caught. Smh.
This is reportedly not the first time this couple has crashed a very high powered and tight security party. It’s also well known that Tareq’s family business(a winery) has been facing several financial problems. The couple’s friends have even told the media they believe the Salahis are embezzling money from their own “charity organizations” that they founded just to keep their business afloat. Michaele’s hairdresser says they got a call hours before the event and when they asked homegirl to see the “White House State Dinner” invitation she kept talking about, she refused to show it. Womp. A film crew was also spotted filming the couple getting out of their SUV and walking up to the White House. And Mrs. Salahi had a makeup artist fluff her up before getting out the car.

Unfortunately, Secret Service is placing blame on Desiree Rogers, the White House’s first black Social Secretary. They say it’s the Social Office’s responsibility to guard who’s in and who’s out list-wise. And despite reports saying the couple never got close to President Obama, the Huffington Post just reported today that is untrue. And here’s the pic to prove it. The couple indeed met with Obama at the event. So now this is a major security threat.
While Bravo has not OFFICIALLY confirmed their D.C. cast just yet, Bravo did confirm the two are “being considered.” The couple’s “lawyer and publicist” (yes, they already have them) have put out this statement:
“At this time the Salahis’ will not make any formal comments regarding the rumors and media speculation surrounding the White House State Dinner (Tuesday November 24). Their counsel, Paul W. Gardner Esq. states emphatically that the Salahis’ did not “crash” this event. We look forward to setting the record straight very soon.”
So we already got fake socialites infiltrating the show. I’m def disappointed. I know first hand that D.C. has SEVERAL incredibly successful, valid, and FABULOUS people of all backgrounds in this city. But Bravo–once again–has chosen to go with the posers. Is it because people with real wealth and class would never do a show such as this? Let’s just hope the other Housewives of D.C. are not doing these antics and actually have some valid ish going on. We already reported about the YBF couple that will be part of the cast. Seems like the others are actual fab folks based on who’s been revealed so far. Time will tell….

Let’s not get stupid here. Somebody got paid. Everyone has a price and if Bravo was there filming them get in and out of their car then I bet my bottom dollar that Bravo paid someone to let them in. Probably a lower ranking person as they are the easiest to bribe and it must have been enough money to cause them not to care if they lost their job. Usually if you offer a lower ranking person a fat bribe, they don’t care if they get fired because the bribe is usually more than they make in two years and for the record, if I was a lower ranking person on the white house team, I’d take a bribe if the price was right and I’m sure you would too. Let’s face it, secret service is way too tight for anyone to just “crash” their white house event. Someone LET them in and you don’t get something for nothing so do the math.

Each season the show has a cast member or members that have some foolishness associated with them and that is what the show is seeking. Nary a Supreme Court or Congressional wife among the cast, but nobody ever seriously expected the cast to include women whose husbands are on the public payroll. Also, in a city that is majority African American, there is only on AA woman. (And when you really find out here foolishness you will change your fab tune very swiftly!) That’s why you don’t see the name Powell, Fenty, Walker-Marchant, Jordan, Wentworth, Harmon Kendall or Gregory (I could go on) on the list. I agree with ybf’s comment of the production behind RHW only want posers. I sent the production company information about a very wealthy lobbyist who’s partner (yes she is married to a woman) is a state legislature in MD and they did not jump on that. This couple live fabulously, they know the biggest lobbyist and one used to do policy for a very prominent Member of congress and they heard nothing back from these producers.

I heard about this story and I was disgusted because I can ASSURE YOU that if it were some black folk or any kind of folk that were 2 shades darker than these two their asses would’ve been tackled and tasered. I couldn’t have said it better myself. I was at the White House on a college tour 2 weeks ago, and we had to submit our full names, social security numbers, date of births and citizenship status well in advance of our visit. When we got there, we were checked off on a list. This was just for an everyday tour, mind you. Not an elaborate dinner with the President present. How these 2 impostors were able to access the White House is beyond me. What I do know, is that charges should be filed, and filed immediately. These 2 should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Heads should also be rolling in the Secret Service. Allowing this kinda lapse in judgment on their part to go unpunished would be criminal. Next thing you know terrorists try to pull off a similar scam and we get another JFK situation on our hands. The pic of her with the president is scary she could have been dangerous and a bomb or something could have went off. Yes she met many high profile people and was in a room with other high profile people but her ultimate goal could have been to harm the president and look how close she is to him. Someone told this woman to come to this event because i don’t think she just went out on a limb and tried to get into the party, few people have the guts to do that. Someone gave her permission and she should be interrogated to find out who gave her permission.
If the secret service is blaming Desiree Rogers they may have a point. How did these people get pass Desiree if they wasn’t on the list??? There should be a list when they go through security and a list check after security. If your name isn’t on the list, u should be put to the side until things can be sorted out.

On one hand it was simply a case of a stupid self-obsessed couple looking to launch their TV programme; on the other hand it was a dangerous breach of security in a post 9-11 era. I’m sure there were similar breaches during previous regimes but the difference is that everybody (read White folks) focused on the humour – indeed here in the UK it was played for laughs no news item mentioned the potential threat. I think Pres Obama needs an overhaul of his security detail – he better find out whether there are some sleeping Klansmen in hiding. If Pres Obama cannot rely upon his own security how disgusting – clearly high level security officials possibly took the money and turned a blind eye. There are enough racists around who are still livid that the best man for the job was an African American.
Just yesterday Google dragged its feet about taking down the offensive image of Michelle Obama as a monkey claiming censorship– yet in China, Google obediently blocks the pages the Chinese Govt do not want shown – what double standing. As Black people we have to remain vigilant and keep watching in the same way that Jewish people monitor the news etc for anything which is offensive to them.

I so co-sign on this. My husband and I went shopping at this military department store where they check your I.D to get in. The lady at the check point was busy with someone so she was not paying attention to who walked pass. I swear like 5 white couples walked in before us and didn’t show their ID and I soon as we walked through she stopped us like we stole something and demanded to see our ID’s.
I politely pulled out my ID and showed it to her but I really wanted to curse her out. But of course she probably would have loved that. I do believe that poor security measures had a role in this party crashing foolishness as well but I also because race played a part in this.
