And here’s the trailer for the new African American take on Death At A Funeral. It opens April 16, 2010 and stars Chris Rock (who also co-wrote it), Tracy Morgan, Martin Lawrence, Loretta Devine, Ron Glass, Danny Glover, Regina Hall, James Marsden, Zoe Saldana, Columbus Short and Kevin Hart.

This is a remake of a 2008 British comedy Death at a Funeral which was HILARIOUS! I am not sure if this will be as funny. The short man in the trailer was also in the first movie.

Some of You guys are so quick to call this the avg. Black comedy..but it doesn’t look anything of the sort? Replace all the actors with White ones and it would be a regular comedy. I don’t get it? What are we supposed to do..smoke cigars and say ‘hearty har har’?
Chris built up bonus pts with “REAL HAIR”, so I will DEFINITELY be checking this out regardless.
In any case, Halle looks nice, but after that sluttiness with Jamie foxx on stage, I can’t see her in quite the same way. Some things don’t need to be done for celebrity, sorry that was extra trampy.

How did Chris Rock co-wrIte this movie (a little like Beyoncé co-writes her songs, huh?) – it’s the same damn movie, he only changed a couple of words (apparently). Now it’s less funny + the acting is bad. What the hell is the point of remaking a movie that was recently done + already in English, anyhow?

I liked the idea of remaking Death at a Funeral – the original British version is an excellent movie – but I cant say I’m excited from looking at the trailer. There are too many things from the original version in there – did they really have to do the valium, and the little person too? And the same little person at that? I’ll watch, the cast is excellent and there are funny bits from the trailer – but I hope this isnt going to be reduced to black people doing the exact same things from the original version – because, then….what’s the point?

Would you say the same thing about Taraji P. Henson? Who almost swallowed Terrence Howards face at the Soul Train Music Awards the other night? Their kiss was far more bananas then Halle and Jamies. In my opinion it seems Halle has lost some “soul”. It seems her color has faded/lightened( yes, it’s December) and she doesn’t have a “sista” vibe. She’s cute and a bit too thin but lovely figure. However IMO never considered her to be beautiful. This look suits her much better than the leather cut out outfit she wore a while ago on some talk show.
