President Barack Obama and his fam hosted their first Christmas lighting ceremony at the Eclipse at the White House this week:

Sasha, Malia, First Lady Michelle, and First Granny were all there of course.

And Jordin Sparks and Common performed as the Obamas lit the National Christmas Tree.
More pics when you read the rest….

Sat, December 5, 2009 11:34 AM
I just heart Jordin Sparks! I hope she remains her true self & don’t start conforming to the whole “sex sells” scheme. True talent indeed & a beautiful lady!
Sat, December 5, 2009 11:36 AM

Sat, December 5, 2009 11:38 AM

Sat, December 5, 2009 11:46 AM
I second that. He is a beautiful man LOL
Sat, December 5, 2009 11:47 AM
Obama is a fraud. Y’all can keep sleeping on him if you want by talking about how handsome he is. Obama ain’t doing sh!t for this country. Open your eyes! Don’t get blinded by his looks. He’s a pawn for the elite.
Stop the war in Afghanistan. Osa Bin Laden is DEAD! What the hell are we fighing for? This country is bankrupt and Obama is digging a deeper hole to put all of us in it. Think about it, what significant thing has he done for the American people?
Yes I did vote for him. Yes I did volunteer for his campaign. He’s a beg letdown!
Sat, December 5, 2009 11:48 AM
I don’t know how Michelle and Barack can look in the mirror when their former Black neighbors in Chicago are dying from
extreme poverty, begging on the streets, neighborhoods are overflowing with drugs and illegal aliens, old people afraid to get shot sitting on their porches, home invasions, and children are being murdered every day. More murders than in Iraq. It’s so bad that even old Oprah is moving out.
The only black people that matter to him are entertainers, and it is sick. This powerless president makes me sick. Hopefully black people wont vote for Color next time.
Sat, December 5, 2009 12:00 PM
Im sorry but there is only so much one can do. Guess what there are cities like this all over the US & has been for many years. It’s very sad but these people are at war with themselves. It’s a way of life & they have children who fall in their footsteps to keep the violence going. Hell even the big wigs in jail still control the streets. So please dont blame the President
Sat, December 5, 2009 12:01 PM
IN THE VOICE OF MARTIN LAWRENCE(GIRL SIT YO DUMB ASS DOWN)!!!
Sat, December 5, 2009 12:01 PM
Because Obama can tackle the issue of death and poverty in Chicago without addressing the rest of the country. NOT AT ALL. Your claims make no sense. The issues that are plaguing this country are because of decades of hatred and failed leadership, it will take more then just a year to fix. He hasn’t even been in office a year. Calm down. Unlike Bush, he gave a deadline to pull the troops out of the war. He cant just jump to something without thinking first. If he puts all of his energy into Chicago do you really think things would be better. There are people hungry and dying everywhere. It’s impossible to help everyone. SO before you judge. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO DECREASE THE NUMBERS OF POVERTY, DEATH, AND DRUG USE.
Sat, December 5, 2009 12:01 PM
You people can’t just judge Obama and say that every single thing wrong in this country is his fault. He is simply one branch of the government, there are two others, and you guys are STUPID if you think he runs and controls everything. He doesn’t get to make absolute decisions without a vote. You guys are a bunch of idiots.
Sat, December 5, 2009 12:02 PM
I would like to say that this Christmas tree is not cute….. too slim :)
Sat, December 5, 2009 12:15 PM
@LADY, is that the best you can you? Sit your corny azz down. Dumb azz quoting Martin Lawrence.
Sat, December 5, 2009 12:15 PM
Girl, I was thinking the same thing. Its not wide enough at the bottom or something. It looks weird.
Sat, December 5, 2009 12:18 PM
Obama has used his presidential power to lift up WHITE women, gays (they’re taking over), and the elderly, BUT HE HAS DONE NOTHING for black america but allow it to stay on the same destructive path Bush set it on.
The rich black tricked poor/middle america into voting for him, because they knew he would stop the justice dept from prosecuting them for their tax evasions and other crimes. Bush locked a lot of them up – OJ, snipes, barry bonds, etc etc, but Mr. black Elite ONLY matters put a stop to it, and HE COULD HELP POOR AND MIDDLE BLACK AMERICA IF HE WANTS TO. ALL HE HAS TO DO IS ISSUE AN EXECUTIVE ORDER.
He is paying for this war over the next 18 months on the backs of the black poor. He is proposing giving the taliban money instead of poor black american taxpayers. Billions have been given to africa and india, while our starving black brothers are on the streets homeless in subzero weather dieing and begging right in chicago. The only thing he can give them is a turkey and a soup kitchen. SICK! The worse white rascist president would have shown more pity than that.
Sat, December 5, 2009 12:23 PM
Jennifer all these dumb negroes on here defending Obama won’t believe Obama stinks until they themselves are lieing in the gutter, and they will be before the next 18 months are over.
White america is closing ranks to protect and provide for their people. Pretty soon all their jobs will go to WHITES only, just like it used to be in the old days.
Obama lets rich black negroes who were supposed to create jobs for black america do nothing but party with him, and run around begging for acceptance from whites.
Sat, December 5, 2009 12:26 PM
I hate to tell you this, but many black people have been on the path to destruction long before Obama was conceived. We have to take responsibility for our own actions, and quit blaming everyone for our downfall. I, by no means, am putting all black people in this category because contrary to popular belief, there are many blacks doing their d*mn thing. Obama cannot save the world.
Sat, December 5, 2009 12:28 PM
If it wasn’t for WHITE MEN michelle wouldn’t be in that white house. All them harvard negroes cant wait to marry white or chinese or anything but black. Barack crazy brother was on the air bragging about his chinese wife the other day. He is one silly fool.
White men have NEVER allowed a black negro man to excel in politics unless he honors the black american woman who helped them raise this country. While white women were running around sipping mint juleps with their bosoms out, BLACK women and WHITE men were raising the AMERICAN family.
Sat, December 5, 2009 12:33 PM
@Teri
That’s his problem – TRYING TO SAVE THE WORLD, at the expense of the black american poor taxpayer.
You say he can’t save black america but someone saved his drug smoking, C student, poor azz, by providing him with the most expensive harvard education. Without the help of the AMERICAN GOVT he wouldn’t be in the white house. He’d be right in the ditch with the very black men he ignores because it’s the easy thing to do.
Sat, December 5, 2009 12:33 PM
No matter what u all say he will win again and be the president of america..deal with it!
Sat, December 5, 2009 12:36 PM
It’s amazing how at every White House event there are Black entertainers…then I see the First family with their beautiful course hair and it truly reminds me that we really have a Black president! Ohh what God can do! ;)
Sat, December 5, 2009 12:40 PM
I find it strange Common was there. I thought he was a JW like Serena. What did he sing? Anyone know?
Oh and MUCH LOVE to our great President and beautiful First Family! :-)

Sat, December 5, 2009 12:48 PM
MICHELLE OBAMA SHOULD BE ACTIVELY WORKING TO SAVE URBAN AMERICA AS HER CAUSE, BUT I SEE NO EVIDENCE THAT SHE USES HER POSITION TO DO ANYTHING MEANINGFUL FOR SOCIETY LIKE THE FIRST LADIES BELOW:
Lady Bird Johnson (1963-1969) became a pioneer of the growing environmental protection and urban renewal movements, fostering federal legislation that sought to restore public highways to their natural appearances and to remove visually marring sites.
Betty Ford (1974-1977) stirred controversy by her frank discussion of political issues that affected women, registering her support for the Supreme Court decision upholding a woman’s right to choose abortion and lobbying state legislatures to pass the Equal Rights Amendment. When Mrs. Ford disclosed her own breast cancer, she helped eradicate the taboo against discussing the health problem that affected millions of women.
Rosalynn Carter (1977-1981) testified before Congress to aid people with chronic mental health problems, led a global relief effort for Cambodian refugees, and held substantive meetings with Central and South American political and military leaders as a representative of the president.
Nancy Reagan (1981-1989) led a campaign to dissuade school-aged children from using illegal drugs, helped monitor her husband’s appointments to ensure that his advisors remained loyal to his policies, and encouraged President Reagan’s friendship with Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev, which eventually led to an arms reduction treaty.
Barbara Bush (1989-1993) led an effort to reduce adult illiteracy, believing it to be an underlying cause for many social problems.
In 2001, Hillary Clinton (1993-2001) became the only former first lady elected to public office, the U.S. Senate. As first lady, she headed a health care reform effort to provide insurance to all Americans. In the more traditional role of first lady, she created an outdoor sculpture garden and displayed contemporary American art in the historic rooms of the White House. In 2008, Hillary Clinton ran for president of the United States and nearly won her party’s nomination.
Laura Bush (2001-present) began her tenure as first lady by encouraging childhood reading but expanded her influence into a broad range of issues, including heart disease in women, aiding at-risk young men with positive-oriented goals, increasing federal support for libraries, and teacher training.
The first ladies’ travels, their causes, and activities are newsworthy events in the United States. Because of their relation to the president, they are political celebrities and have been able from earliest times to use their position to influence styles and advocate for social and political causes.

Sat, December 5, 2009 1:18 PM
I LOVE Obama….I really do…however I couldn’t agree more w/ your statement. It really saddens me because I was really rooting for him. Before Obama I never cared to vote in a presidential election (sad..I know) but for some reason w/ him I felt like I had a voice. No I regret my decision. :-(
Sat, December 5, 2009 1:30 PM
Its obvious that all of the anti-Obama posts is fromt he same person with a different name and no life. This is the type of perosn that blames the gov’t and the white man, but live like hell everyday with their neighbors and always looking for a system handout. This is the type of person that tries to erode unity with negativity because they just can’t be happy for someone else. So, Jennifer-People Dying in His Hometown-The Powerless President-Gaye and whoever you want to sign on next, we welcome your opinion in all fifty eleven Obama articles that you invade looking to stir a reaction. If this is how you want to use your energy, be our guest. if you want to get out into your community as the president suggests and BE the change it needs, there is much work to be done. God Bless America and God Bless Our President, Mr. Obama.
Sat, December 5, 2009 1:46 PM
I could not have said it better.
Some need to stop selfishly looking up for someone to help them and start selflessly reach out to help others. I can bet you if more of that is done there’ll be less for us to complain about.
Sat, December 5, 2009 2:07 PM
Thank you for calling them out! It was very obvious to me as a random reader that those posts were coming from the same person since the spelling and grammar errors were consistent throughout each of the posts. Furthermore, in this day and age, it’s sad that people don’t understand that their IP address can be tracked with each post… if you post several messages under different names the website administrators can see very clearly you are the same person…. DUH!!!!
Sat, December 5, 2009 2:08 PM
The first family looks good. As far as Obama’s policies/performance goes, I’ll rate him at halftime (Jan 2011). And, if by Nov 2012, (1) unemployment is 6% or lower, (2) overall cost of living (housing, food, energy, etc.) for working/middle class is in check, and (3) we’re out of the Middle East, he’ll easily win re-election. Those expecting Obama to have solved all the problems 11 months into office are just being plain stupid.
Sat, December 5, 2009 2:21 PM
By the way, to “all” the anti-Obama posters (all one of you hiding behind different names) what do you make of the latest reports of the recent significant drop in unemployment rates???
Sat, December 5, 2009 2:47 PM
SPEAK!!
Sat, December 5, 2009 3:27 PM
Shame, shame! this is a post celebrating Christmas! let’s try to stay positive people. for all of you downing OUR President, Hello! he is trying to clean up what BUSH FUCKED UP!
I applaud for him for having the courage and balls to try to fix the country’s status after Bush, with his stupid, devil ass! I can’t remember any of you racist bitches logging on to complain about BUSH, call people Negroes, shooting yo mouth off about Laura! Fuck yall, bah hum bug Bitches.
Sat, December 5, 2009 3:47 PM
Tryyah we all were rooting for this cowardly negro who decided to roll over like a dog and fight for nothing that would help black people.
I know the europeans must feel stupid for giving him that Nobel peace prize since he decided to escalate the war by sending 30,000 troops, insteading of ending the war that is costing billions.
Sat, December 5, 2009 3:49 PM
Michelle, Barack and their family should be forced to walk through the streets of the southside of chicago
Sat, December 5, 2009 3:51 PM
walking through the streets on the southside of chicago should be their christmas presents
Sat, December 5, 2009 4:35 PM
I’m not posting under different names, only this one with grammatical errors and all. I stand alone.
Get real and keep thinking he is looking out for your dumb black azzez. All y’all see is a handsome black man and that’s what make y’all sleepy negros. He came in a pretty package to stop the revolution that was about to come down on America when Bush was in office to make you sad negro feel safe. That’s exactly what white (elite) america wanted you to think…you do feel safe right? Mission accomplished. haha
Hell yeah we want his help. Black people were fighting for freedom in the 60’s and this has only been a little over 40 years, so yes, we do expect him to help. He stopped DC school vouchers, he continues the Patriot Act, he’s continued the war, except it’s moved to Afghan. We’re spending billions of tax payers dollars to rebuild Iraq and this is okay with you? How do think the Taliban got started…hell I might have grammatical errors but I know what the hell is going on, but all you see is a handsome black man. Puhleeze!
Wake up NEGROS!
Sat, December 5, 2009 4:48 PM
PRESIDENTS ARE NOT GOD KEEP THAT IN MIND. i’m going to need people to stop relying on government to anything and everything. people that are sitting on their asses waiting for handouts. get yall lazy annoying complaining asses up and WORK. YES WORK. GET UR OWN MONEY STOP FUCKING COMPLAINING. IF UR IN DEBT ITS UR FAULT NO ONE ELSES. many of those getting foreclosed on bought houses they could afford in the first place. PEOPLE NEED TO START TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS INACTIONS AND FAILURES. OBAMA came to presidency when the country was a mess. he is not the president of black people he is president of AMERICAN PEOPLE. i hate hate hate when black people get it twisted. the man is handling so many things at once. he’s ONE PERSON. y don’t u complain to ur state officials HUH?!?! HUH? OH OK.
Sat, December 5, 2009 4:53 PM
there are bigger priorities than southside chicago. go sit ur dumb ass down and turn on cnn. pick up a newspaper. it’s not all about u and ur city. Obama is a brilliant man i believe he’s doing as much as he can. we just need to pray he succeeds. because if he fails we all fail and that’s the last time u see them elect a black president again.
Sat, December 5, 2009 4:55 PM
shut ur dumb ass up. i heard all these conpiracy theories b4 and all the people that have put em out have their own agendas. stop repeating garbage.
Sat, December 5, 2009 5:00 PM

Sat, December 5, 2009 5:17 PM
Beautiful-looking ceremony, I see u Common-an honor I’m sure to be able to perform for our president, first lady and fam!
Sat, December 5, 2009 6:41 PM
gayel and helen are the same person.
Sat, December 5, 2009 7:15 PM
@jenifer
You are right on the money. Obama is paying for the war on the blood, sweat and tears of black america.
The fools who support him DON’T HAVE A CLUE AS TO THE ROLE OF GOVT IN THEIR LIVES. They’re not smart enough to look at their pitiful paychecks and all the FEDERAL taxes they pay and KNOW THAT IT IS THEIR MONEY PAYING FOR POLICE PROTECTION FOR EVERYONE BUT THEM and that it pays for WAR instead of feeding the american hungry.
AND THAT EVERY CITIZEN WHO PAYS ALL THOSE TAXES SHOULD EXPECT AND DEMAND SOMETHING IN RETURN FROM IT.
Sat, December 5, 2009 7:39 PM
Change happens from the bottom up. What have WE done to change our own plight? Why can’t we pull ourselves up by the boot straps? This isn’t pre-segregation. We need to go get it! Stop complaining all the time and expecting someone else to do things for us.
I know someone will ask what I’m doing to help someone else…well, I started tutoring three times a week. I volunteer at a food bank once a week and it sure feels good. I want to start career counseling. I think I’ll start a SAT tutorial as well. Let’s get it! We all have something to give. One of the ladies who comes into the food bank is teaching me to sew. You have to give a little in order to receive! Our President is not our savior.
Sat, December 5, 2009 7:48 PM
I’m not sure what the President can do to help people who won’t help themselves. For example, the code of silence. You see someone get stomped to death on the corner, but you won’t come forward. You see someone selling drugs on your street, but you complain about dope dealers taking over. You know local officials only pay attention to people who vote, and we won’t show up to vote for our mayors or school board officials. We need to mobilize. The tea-partiers sure as hell did. They may be a small group, but they were the loudest.
Sat, December 5, 2009 7:49 PM
Co Sign Kerri….
All these Obama Haters will be just that…mindless haters that no one will even remember 100 years from now. However the Obamas will forever be remembered in history. That’s what its all about…being remembered for what you’ve done…not what you’ve complained about…
Sat, December 5, 2009 8:14 PM
I live in Chicago and the statement does nt make any since to me. We have always had poverty in Chicago. We have had homelessness before he go into office and we will have homelessness after he leaves office. Everything is not the President’s fault no President for that matter. Some people need to take action for their own self. I have done community works with the homeless community and some of them have the options of staying with family but chooses not to. It is a sad situation that we have people living on the street. But everything is not the President’s fault.
Sat, December 5, 2009 11:37 PM
To all you ignorant folks who thought the first black President was going to save your live. I reallu wish you would read a book, get an education and/or get a job and save your own life.
Sat, December 5, 2009 11:49 PM
Were all these obamas haters born in the 60’s and 70’s? Using phrases like “white man” and “negros”, wtf? Sad and dumb.
Sun, December 6, 2009 11:27 AM
There are mentality delusional, bitchassness filled, hate all in the heart and soul, psychos making comments on this post…what’s really going on…Happy Holidays People, the President is lighting the nation’s christmas tree with his family, it’s a happy time…..Please all of you nay-sayers find a friend and get a hug…or go crawl under a rock…such sour pusses… :-/
Sun, December 6, 2009 11:30 AM
Here Sandra here’s a {{{{{hug}}}}} bless your heart dear….you need prayer..
Sun, December 6, 2009 11:59 AM
@The Powerless President Jennifer, Dean, Sandra, Tyra all of u are by far the most ignorant posters that I have seen in a while. Get a clue regarding what the President is trying to do better yet get a life. I too beleive that all of you are the same ignorant as poster with the acception of Tyra…you are just a lost in the woods bambi that is playing follow the idiots. I believe that most of you could benefit from taking advantage of our higher education. Your writing pattern is that of someone who has less than a elementary school education. Before you attempt to school us “naive” posters regarding what President Obama is or is not doing, I first suggest that you learn how the accumalative effects of bad decisions that have been made in the White House by previous Presidents leaving our current president to fix this mess. I certainly applaud his efforts..I wouldn’t care if someone was doling out a million dollars for that job, I wouldn’t take. Just think with all of the major things that a president has to be concerned about, some of you assholes are complaining about what the President hasn’t done for Chicago. Are you kidding me.
Also lets not talk about what the previous First Ladies sponsored:
Nancy Reagan huh….well didn’t her deceased husband have a clause in property that they were attempting to sale that it could not be sold to black people?
Barbara Bush…really is this the same regal chic that said the African Americans from New Orleans having lost much of their possessions that they were now in a better situation than that of which they were rescued from. Wow…talking about taking the silver spoon and out and inserting foot. Ouch.
Hillary winning the senate seat…Really that was almost a given considering that she wasn’t even a true new yorker and in fact had only lived there for about 6 months when she ran and was elected. She hasn’t done anything major. She did try to reform healthcare but we see how that worked out. Also she was on the board of directors for Walmart and caught heat for that due to the numerous lawsuits that they have faced for mistreatment of employees.
I could go on and on but ignorant is ignorant. Some of you same dumb asses that are posting these horrible remarks about our President or the same ones that go out with your measly earnings to buy $200 sneakers for your kids but wouldn’t have any idea of when the last PTA meeting was held.
As to the poster that called our President a C grade student while he was in college. Really….I don’t know of to many C students who are elected the President of the Law Review at Harvard. If so, that’s pretty good for an “under achiever” and I guess that being elected as President and receiving the Nobel Peace Prize was additional icing on the cake.
I’m through.
Sun, December 6, 2009 2:18 PM
Some of these comments are really disappointing.
-Some of you are beginning to sound like a bunch of obese people that have decided they
re going to lose weight. You gained 150 lbs in 2 years and you want it off in 6 months. That just isn’t going to happen. Your country is fucked, and really too bad for Obama, but like a fat-ass person learning how exercise, you’ve got to start by walking, then just eating, then do some light weights. Until you’re back to a functional state of being, real change isn’t even possible. It’s true for any other out of hand situation, and it sure is true for your country as well. People who say Obama has done nothing for this country need to take a serious look and realize he is the best thing to happen to this country in while. Ya’ll need to get informed. Any good, effective and long-lasting benefits need to established properly and thoroughly. If Obama went ahead with some of the quick-fix, immediate-results-oriented bullshit that the republicans live by, then another 8-10 years from now this country will be in a ditch yet again. The man is trying to re-build the foundation for a stable future America. He’s not trying to put cover up on a pimple and call it a day, because the truth would be that you still have shitty skin. :)

EMPTY DRUMS ALWAY MAKES THE LOUDEST NOISE =:o)
Mon, December 7, 2009 11:45 AM
Obama is the president for all people. You are the one who is mistaken if you believed Obama was only going to do for Black people. I would like for him to speak on what is going on in Chicago, but newsflash–the year Obama ran over 20 schoolchildren were killed in Chicago and yet no one was screaming for him to speak then. That was when you actually could have called him out on that. But now he is the president of the United States and has to address the issue nationally. There are also a lot of starving black brothers that failed to prepare themselves in the times of the plenty for the lean times and Obama can not fix their situation overnight. I feel the economy is moving in a positive direction, perhaps not at the speed we’d like but it is moving. Moving all fast and creating false booms is what got us in trouble in the first place.
And for so many of Obama’s detractors, I wish they had been on this board when Bush was lying to everybody’s faces for 8 years decrying his policies. People come all late to the party and want to blame the host cause the food is gone.
